I spent some time a while back looking through themes, and I kind of just stuck with it. It's pretty sleek. The logo kind of detracts from it though.

I find it strange why none of the themes have :active selectors. It would make my PC experience so much better.

Spoiler:
Or if I could actually figure out how to start working on one myself lol. I have no idea where to get a copy of the skin.

It's the eyes. The eyes really do a lot for the character designs. Not really for better or for worse, but they do give them a different feel.

I just hope Brawly turns into the Legendary Super Saiyan in this one.

I don't like how Brock just keeps changing in the games but not in the anime. It's just... weird.

Haven't seen a proper theme in this place for quite some time (assuming you mean avatar/signature themes). There aren't any directions I can give you really though, aside from just playing around with CSS and making shizz look good. :P

But it's like my skills have stagnated over the years <_<

Akiba July 17th, 2014 3:29 PM

240.

You'll be making games solo?

machomuu July 17th, 2014 3:34 PM

241

If I go into it as a career, probably not (though currently that's the case), but even then it has its uses.

But I'd like to be able to see characters as I envision them in my head, draw out scenes as they will play out, and make sprites and character portraits. If I could draw, I'd probably be more motivated to proactively work on the ideas I already have.

But as time goes on, it feels like I shouldn't be able to draw because I have ideas. It would just be too perfect if I could do both. I keep trying, though.

Pokestick, good times. July 17th, 2014 3:40 PM

It's always annoying when your ideas are way above your drawing skills level-wise. Gotta spec that stuff evenly. :P

Pokestick, good times. July 17th, 2014 3:48 PM

That sounds boring, hope you find a way out of there. :/

I almost signed up for a university program which would basically have made me a server stuff person. Really glad I realised that and changed it to something interesting. Personally I wouldn't work with computers at all (aside from drawing digitally) if I could choose.

machomuu July 17th, 2014 3:49 PM

250

I haven't done anything in game design specifically (except for a game I "made" for a Senior Project in High School), but lately I noticed that it's a lot easier for me to point out things like where the game tries to teach a player something through level design (and where they fail to do so), how well level spikes are handled, whether or not bosses are too hard and if reason dictates that they should be, etc. In that sense, I'm pretty confident. It's actually stuff like that that makes picking games apart so fun :q

Plus it makes for some good education.

That was mostly the point, since it was supposed to be a callback to Final Fantasy I.

Though I'm not sure it's canonically related to Bravely Default, given that it's a Spiritual Prequel.

Pokestick, good times. July 17th, 2014 4:35 PM

259

I don't really have obsessive-compulsive disorder, to be fair.

Though nowadays saying you have OCD is pretty much just synonymous with saying you like everything to be neat and notice pattern mistakes easily, and that I'm definitely guilty of.

As for Netto's RPG, it appears to have similar monster design, so it might take place in the same universe or one much like it.
I guess the Bravely Default multiverse makes pretty much anything possible.

Maybe, but it I doubt it was too big in Japan- or at least, not as big as it was in Western areas (and that song and it's utilization specifically made that scene pretty gold). Or, rather, it was how it was used that made it funny, especially since you don't see it referenced too often in even older Japanese media.
