I just got an IV-ed Floette from Wonder trade. Thinking of breeding some Flabebes, but I don't know how popular they are. Tell me whether I should breed these or not. Until then, I'll breed some Spiritombs and Beldums.

Gallant May 3rd, 2014 4:24 PM

I finally got my flawless Jolly Charmander with Dragon Dance! :) Got a box full of them with 3/4 Ivs, if anyone want to give them a home just pm me. They are almost all being wonder traded!

wiggins777 May 3rd, 2014 5:23 PM

Trying to breed a defensive IV'd and Nature Klefki but am failing horribly lol. I can't seem to get the IVs I want to transfer over, and when I use a specific item to transfer it, the other ones don't transfer. Using destiny knot and everything. Got boxes of 'em... But I finally bred a good Hawlucha the other day. So that's cool!

Butterfree-Charizard May 3rd, 2014 10:09 PM

Just finished breeding a perfect Vivillon. Working on a nasty plot togekiss now.

Brighton Solrock May 4th, 2014 3:43 PM

Right now, I'm breeding some Beldums for a friend. Got half a box of IVed Spiritombs and more Chespins than I will ever need.

Ghost Lunis May 4th, 2014 4:05 PM

Decided to breed my water team so they would be all kalos bred shinies. I am currently working on adamant marill with belly drum, Superpower, and aqua jet. Next will be a storm drain gastrodon. Might not go for shiny on gastrodon since I prefer the blue one the most. But, knowing me, it will be shiny.

Phazon Elemental May 5th, 2014 12:49 AM

Last I was breeding was a 5IV Calm Cryogonal.

Ended up breeding a perfect. The guy was pretty happy. He would have rather a shiny, but that wasn't too bad either.

Noossab Blue May 7th, 2014 4:27 PM

I've been working on a HP fire protean froakie for days...finally got the IVs I needed...

He also gave me a Fletchling in a Premier Ball so I can replace the one I lost. :D I'll do that after I finish breeding these Moon Ball karps. Dumb things gave me two 6 IV males back to back but no females. ;.;

EV♥ May 12th, 2014 8:17 PM

I was doing some random breeding for a trade and using a 6 IV Ditto with a mother with terrible horrible IVs. Wasn't using Everstone just Destiny Knot because why not? I got this... 1,1 - Roselia (M) - Timid - Natural Cure - 31.27.31.31.31.31 [4053]
I have the most amazing luck when I don't want it. D:

Next breeding project will be... I have no idea actually. I had something but I forgot what it was...

drmsweep May 13th, 2014 2:38 AM

Currently farming Evee's on Pokemon Y and putting them in the GTS to fill my Pokemon wish list. So far its working, everyone seems to love Evee's. I recommend using them to get the pokemon you want on the GTS. However, I am also breeding the pokemon listed below as more trading material, kind of a temporary, unofficial Pokemon store in case no one wants an Evee. The list will grow as I get more pokemon through trades.

Froakie
Squirtle
Charmander
Fennikin
Pumpkaboo
Haunter
Machoke
Flareon
Vaporeon
Heracross
Pinsir
Snorlax
Lapras

Alternative May 13th, 2014 3:52 AM

I've got a few things on the mind as to what to breed. I'm trying to put more focus into egg moves rather than IVs or anything (which I'll only do for my own personal use) but that's just me. I guess trying to put a unique spin for Pokemon breeding is what I'm trying to go for lmao. Anyway right now I'm going for Curse Goomy, and Boomburst/Nasty Plot Chatot for no reason other than learning it can get both and it sounds really nice together.

Eventually I'll breed that Goomy for my own needs, planning on running rain in battle maison, and Hydration would prove useful for what I'm going for.

Belldandy May 13th, 2014 3:42 PM

So I've finally finished breeding all my Baby Pokemon! Since my boyfriend and I are doing an all-Baby runthrough on Y.

Spoiler:
  • [Static] Jolly Pichu (Egg Moves: Wish, Charge, Thunder Punch, Tickle)
  • [Serene Grace] Modest Togepi (Egg Moves: Extrasensory, Nasty Plot, Future Sight, Morning Sun)
  • [Magic Guard] Modest Cleffa (Egg Moves: Wish, Tickle, Aromatherapy, Amnesia)
  • [Competitive/Cute Charm] Modest Igglybuff (Egg Moves: Misty Terrain, Fake Tears, Wish, Feint Attack)
  • [Vital Spirit] Adamant Tyrogue (Egg Moves: Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, Pursuit, High Jump Kick)
  • [Serene Grace] Calm Chansey (Egg Moves: Heal Bell, Seismic Toss, Metronome, Mud Bomb)
  • ♪[Vital Spirit] Adamant Elekid (Egg Moves: Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Rolling Kick, Meditate)
  • ♪[Vital Spirit] Modest Magby (Egg Moves: Flare Blitz, Cross Chop, Mega Punch, Thunder Punch)
  • ♪[Rock Head/Study] Adamant Sudowoodo (Egg Moves: Sand Tomb, Stealth Rock, Rollout, Defense Curl)
  • ♪[Natural Cure] Modest Roselia (Egg Moves: Extrasensory, Spikes, Leaf Storm, Cotton Spore)
  • ♤[Static] Pichu (Egg Moves: Wish, Charge, Tickle, Volt Tackle)
  • ♤[Static] Pichu (Egg Moves: Disarming Voice, Volt Tackle, Tickle, Charge)
  • ♤[Thick Fat] Munchlax (Egg Moves: Zen Headbutt, Belch, Pursuit, Double-Edge)
  • ♤[Serene Grace] Happiny (Egg Moves: Aromatherapy, Helping Hand, Metronome, Mud Bomb)

Where ♤ denotes that I will not breed this Pokemon for nature. ♪ denotes a special order, meaning I need a little bit of time to hatch this egg. IVs are random, but all are 5IVs. Pokemon come with natures listed, where applicable.

Currently on my list to breed:
  • Swap out previously-bred Munchlax for one with a Heavy Ball
  • Swap out previously-bred Igglybuff for one with a Dream Ball
  • Breed the Jolly-natured Pichu with Thunder Punch with LightningRod instead of Static
  • Swap out previously-bred Roselia for one with a Love Ball
  • Complete 5IV Adamant Fire/Thunder/Ice Fang + Punishment Mawile in Heavy Ball
  • Complete 5IV Timid/Modest Outrage + Switcheroo + Tailwind Noibat
  • Complete 5IV HA Adamant Crush Claw + Baton Pass + Low Kick + Night Slash Torchic

I've about halfway done with a little Goomy project! I've had so many parents come through on WT that I figured I might as well use em and create something beautiful. The plan was to get Modest and Sassy Goomys in Heal Balls with a few egg moves, and I've just gotten my Modest trio:

http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/704.pnghttp://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/1/17/Bag_Heal_Ball_Sprite.png
Modest | Sap Sipper, Hydration, Gooey
31/x/31/31/31/31
Bubble | Curse | Acid Armour | Counter

I'll be coming back to breed the Sassy triplets which won't be fun because I'll be shooting for Flawless, so in the mean time I figured I might start on a breather project: Friend ball Ralts! I'm planning on a Modest varient with Disable | Destiny Bond | Encore | Memento and an Adamant variant with Shadow Sneak instead of Disable.

I know it can be caught in a Safari Ball, because I've caught one in the HG/SS safari zone and bred a nice 5V baby from it :P I was really hoping I could've caught it in a friend ball, but it's not available in the wild ;_; Nest ball would look really nice on a Lotad though imo!

Before I even looked here, I was looking at the balls. I really like the nest ball as well. Safari ball will be my second choice I think. I found that I have a Heal Ball lotad already but that's only a maybe if I want to use that.

I think the nest ball actually looks the best overall, but a Safari ball has that 4th gen charm to it. Dive Ball Lotad is also my weird choice of the day, I think the baby blue just works sorta nicely with Ludicolo.

Um I'm trying to procrastinate from that Ralts project for as long as possible as I'm not a fan of the long breeding chains, so instead I'll work on a Defog Scyther.... yeah switching from 1 long breed to another makes no sense x_x I know it'll have Defog for sure, and Counter/Baton Pass/Quick Guard all look like nice options so he can be used in both Singles and Doubles, but I'm not so sure : (

Decided to dig through my boxes in bank to find stuff to breed... was a very bad idea. D: I finally picked Vulpix as the Pokemon to breed and then I realized I had like 20 Vulpix with different egg moves, IVs, and in different Pokeballs. D: D: I just bred as many egg moves as I could on each one in each Pokeball I had, and I did HP Ice and nonHP for all of those. n_n About halfway through and then I think I'll finally clean out and organize my bank... expect a humongous giveaway soon when I do that.

After I finish this lotad, I believe I'm going to try for a heavy ball Lapras with at least freeze dry. If i get it from Tabor before then;) Or I might breed my love ball caterpie with some egg moves and for shiny. It's the next pokemon needed for the shiny hunters club shiny dex so I figured I would help with that since I already got one of the squirtle needed.

You don't need to worry about egg moves because Caterpie doesn't get any so its just the shiny flex. Love ball butterfree is amazing btw <3 Lapras is one of those pokemon that I've always wanted very badly, but never wanted to breed due to a ton of factors like taking forever so good luck on that!

Just joking :P

But to my knowledge there shouldn't be any such list. Kanto and Kalos starters are catchable in XY and Johto starters are catchable in Colosseum. All others should be in a normal Ball.

And as an extra note, I believe Dive Balls or Luxury or some Gen III introduced Ball isn't listed on Colosseum's obtainable Ball list on Serebii despite being able to trade them in at the end of the game one at a time.

Well, I did list Nest Bulbasaur technically: "Kanto and Kalos starters are catchable in XY".

Also Tirtouga is a Fossil Pokemon that was catchable in the DW and you weren't required to use a Dream Ball.

Ghost Lunis June 10th, 2014 7:33 AM

Holy $#¡☆ I must be having an off day.
I didn't even realize that the nest ball was in x and y. Stuck with premier balls and original balls for too long in that game , ugh.
I was also thinking of turtwig the whole time I was writing tirtouga. *facepalm*
That makes me want one those as well, XD.

Sorry for being stupid. I should stick with one hit instead of two the next time around . XD

Currently, I'm working on breeding a shiny Protean Froakie for my single battle wifi team and a shiny Modest Mareep for my friend as a graduation gift.

Johnnykal89 June 12th, 2014 9:03 PM

Currently breeding Eevee. Trying to get a shiny female Umbreon with hidden ability.

Cyclone June 13th, 2014 12:27 PM

Decided to do my first breeding project. Meowth!

Why Meowth? Well, let's just say that Meowth's last habitat was in Johto back in Generation IV, with no habitat and only found on Yancy in Generation V, and still no habitat in Generation VI. It doesn't even have a habitat in Hoenn, being found only by trade. So it's technically one of the most rare wild Pokémon in the last four generations, and yet it's a feature in the anime as part of Team Rocket! So, once I level it enough, I figure breeding it with my Lv.100 perfect Ditto will give me some great items for Wonder Trading!

vestalcoon June 15th, 2014 11:28 PM

At present I'm working on a 5IV, Inner Focus Darumaka. About one box in. I've acquired a perfect one, but it doesn't have the appropriate ability or a helpful nature! Agh!

Just looked it up on Serebii and you're right: For something that you see every day on the anime I would've thought that it would be more popular haha. Seeing this has kinda got me wanting to do a few 'rare wild' breeds of my own in fancy balls, because. Good luck! Are you shooting for any IVs/moves in particular?

How would you even go about optimizing a Zen Mode Darmartian haha, don't think I've ever seen one o.o. What natures are you shooting for on it? But at least you have a great splitback/parent to use for later breeds so its not a total waste o:

Did a breeding project for someone here and it reminded me about how much I hate doing HA pokemon with skwered Male Ratios:

Naive | Overgrow | Male
x/31/31/31/31/31 OR 31/31/x/31/31/31
Low Kick | Leaf Storm | Nasty Plot | Grass Whistle

This took the better part of a day to get, lord x_x. The worst part is that I'll probably still try and shoot for 6V in the end :| Finding more things to breed and procrastinate defog scizor on is going swimmingly!

Mawa June 16th, 2014 6:18 AM

I want a Treecko with Dragon breath, grasswhistle, and leech seed
I have the grasswhistle egg move and dragon breath, but now I need a female.
I want at least 3IV (I don't think I have a pokemon to breed with that have more than 3 or 4 :/ )

Not really, I just wanted to get some Meowth out there in the WT since I'm tired of seeing Froakie and Fletchling. Of course, I got a couple of those back, too. What really gives me lulz is when a Magikarp comes in exchange for something; one such chain happened today when I sent out a Pichu and got a Froakie; I sent Froakie out for ANOTHER Froakie, then got a Magikarp. For lulz it went back out after the checker confirmed no multiple-IVs and I got Korinne's Lucario from someone else. Interesting.

That Pichu? A breeding reject so to speak, I bred a dozen to work towards a perfect IV Volt Tackle Pichu (which will become my Raichu) and have a few 4IV ones now. No need to EV train them since they're for eventual breeding, but I might train one anyway.

And I'm still sending out Meowth and others, too. Here's a hilarious tidbit. I found out that the Persian I'm using for breeding is a Shiny. To the point I found this, at Lv.60, I didn't know as I didn't catch the difference in Unova, where it was born! Thankfully I think I cloned it before import, so I can get more.

Future project: Stantler!

I actually have a perfect Ditto. I am hoping to create the Treecko female he seeks. But females are rare in starters, so it's a needle in a haystack when the IVs chosen randomize every time.

Tell me a out it,XD. Those 12.5 ratios suck.

Cyclone June 17th, 2014 9:18 AM

So, after several internal breeding sessions with various Pokémon (including getting a few Pichu to breed high-IV Volt Tackle Pichu eventually and a session getting a box and a half of Ralts trying to get someone a Timid one, and keeping nine 3IV Ralts for future use), I've returned to my Meowth breeding. I took a male 4IV and a female 5IV (unfortunately both 5IVs were female) and leveled them up to learn some moves. I them headed to Route 7 and stuck them in the daycare. Not counting the other 5IV I got from the perfect Ditto, what I have so far:

5IV - 2
4IV - 10
3IV - 4
2IV - 2

Naturally, anything 2-3 IV will be Wonder Traded (6 total). I think the commonness of the 4IV means they're going, as well (16). I'll keep trying for my 5IV and, ultimately, 6IV, but at least they're all hatching with the same moveset, so I can swap in a male 5IV if I want to improve my odds.

Cyclone June 22nd, 2014 6:42 PM

Given it's been a few days, I'll excuse the fact that this is a technical double post. Just reporting the good news that my first 6IV Pokémon, a Quiet Vullaby knowing Steel Wing, hatched today under the lights of Prism Tower in Lumiose City. The proud parents, the father a Skarmory and both 5IV themselves, request privacy at this time. I meanwhile scrambled to create a new PC box, called 6IV (next to where 5IV is located), to make a unique space for any such entry.

If I get more 6IVs, I'll edit them in here.

Ghost Lunis June 22nd, 2014 7:09 PM

It always fun getting those 6ivs:)

Just the shiny at the minute never caught or bred one before so it's a little mission! Wanna start iv breeding after elite 4 :)

Cyclone June 27th, 2014 12:05 PM

So after doing a batch of Slowpoke and Wonder Trading a bunch of them with King's Rocks, I looked at my National Dex and noticed I had seen a Raichu, but had yet to evolve it myself. I decided that my 0IV specimen, while Ribboned for a good footprint, wasn't good enough. I handed it a Light Ball and introduced it to Ditto; they started breeding and got three dozen out, two at 4IV but none at 5IV.

I extracted the Pikachu and started leveling one baby to Lv.23, and it evolved. I gave it a Light Ball and bred it a while, then took it out for another move-learning level (Lv.26). It later went back in the daycare and stayed there until Lv.31, likely learning Thunderbolt as it bred. I decided it was time to take one of my many new 5IVs and start using it, and extracted the second Pikachu after receiving my 24th Egg.

I hatched the final Eggs and flew to Kiloude. I got them rated. First, a 5IV. Second, a 3IV.

The last Egg was a Sassy 6IV ♂ Pichu.

As soon as I get that baby cloned, I'm evolving it to a Raichu. No question, that's the one.

Cognitive June 29th, 2014 5:13 PM

Currently i'm breeding the Human-Like egg group, now at Magmar.. I'm workin my way down the pokedex but since i figured this one seemed like the smallest i'd start with it. I'm eventually going to breed the entire National Pokedex..

Cyclone July 1st, 2014 10:22 AM

My latest Egg project was a batch of Sneasel. It was tricky as I was replying to this request, but I realized I had a good start with a 5IV Fake Out Meowth already leveled up, so I decided to take this on.

Sure enough, the first step was no problem. Got a few specimens, Wonder Traded the rejects, and bred the winner with an imported 1IV Cubchoo. I later realized this was a mistake as I got many Eggs with 1-4IVs, and should have just got a high-IV Cubchoo in the first place, but I decided I could deal with this because of how Egg Moves pass down in this generation.

So, I had my Sneasel with Fake Out and Icicle Crash. I'd already pointed out to the requester that Ice Shard is learned by Sneasel and thus not necessary, but since I needed to level it quite a bit to prevent move overwriting at the daycare, I knew it was the last move to learn; thus, I did that and also added another Sneasel exclusive, Beat Up (not learned by Weavile).

Eventually, I had two high-IV Sneasel in the daycare. I had covered all the IVs possible and had put it on "machine mode". 27 Eggs later, I noticed none had a 31 in Speed. I investigated at Kiloude; turns out I had mislabeled the male as having a Speed IV of 31. Oops.

I eventually put another in the daycare with Speed and bred a lot of Sneasel from these two. I even got two perfect 6IV from them.

Then I noticed they were missing Icicle Crash. I had pulled my Icicle Crash user out and the two in there did not know it. The female had been replaced, and she knew the move.

Feeling "crashed" myself, I leveled up yet another one (this one a male) that knew the move from an earlier batch. I triple-checked the IVs; Defense and Speed were the deficiencies, but five 31s was possible.

I think I did three boxes or more of Eggs and pulled the five that were in the 31/31/31/xx/31/31 configuration. The selection is made by the trader, and we just have to trade now (after I choose something in the thread LOL).

I am going to take on a Spritzee request next. I hope it's not as much of an adventure.

Defective July 1st, 2014 11:50 AM

The only things with good IVs I can breed are Riolu and Eevee.

The Riolu have about 4-5 good ones with the egg moves of Vacuum Wave, Hi-Jump Kick, Crunch, and Bullet Punch. Other can be bred with 5 guaranteed IVs but no special moves.

The Eevee can only be bred with 5 perfect IVs. No egg moves or anything.

I'm thinking about starting to breed Pachirisu since I got one from Wonder Trade.

Ghost Lunis July 1st, 2014 12:11 PM

@ CycloneGU. may have asked you this, but do you breed for rare balls as well?

Keiran July 1st, 2014 12:19 PM

My previous breeding project was HP Fire Abra in Dream Balls...tonight I think I'll do Duskull in Dream Balls as well. Dream Ball matches the shiny nicely.

Esoj July 1st, 2014 12:30 PM

I'm currently breeding for a Jolly Heracross, Guts, and with Pursuit as EM. After this one, will try to get a male Ralts, Jolly, Telepathy with Shadow Sneak. Then, a female Ralts, much to do XD

Cognitive July 1st, 2014 1:04 PM

Breeding Modest Magby at the moment.. Managed to get a 6iv ditto for an event Darkrai..Hopefully this one won't take a long time.

I usually do not. I breed for IVs, and in fact one breeding project ended up in Great Balls. Actually, believe it or not, I usually try to get Poké Balls, so I don't care either way.

Though it's cool to get a WT specimen with a Gen. IV ball.

I have recently found my self entranced by rare balls. I used to only prefer pokeballs and premier balls. This lotad rally kicked off the ball fascination.

I think the fascination comes from it being an Apricorn-made ball, and you can't get them outside of Johto (do any appear in Kanto in HG-SS, I don't remember). Therefore, being able to ship a female in a rare ball from there up through to Kalos gives you some good breeding stock just for Ball sharing. I might try this. A female Clefable in a Moon Ball with 5IVs or even 6IVs is something special.

Cyclone July 1st, 2014 8:08 PM

My latest breeding project is going somewhat well so far. The eventual goal seems like it would apply completely on luck, but nonetheless I will set up the two steps necessary to give myself an outside chance at reaching that goal.

The goal? A baby Spritzee. But not just any baby Spritzee; if it was, I'd be done already.

1. The baby must have a Relaxed nature. That was easy enough. Captured 10 Swirlix (I'll explain this further along). Found one. Discarded the rest.
2. The Spritzee must have Aroma Veil, its hidden ability. I have the Safari, so taking females to improve my breeding chances while getting "Wish" with it is still easy. Took seven attempts to get two of them at the end. There, an Aroma Veil Spritzee bred with Swirlix from Step 1 holding an Everstone. Easy, right?
3. The Spritzee must know "Wish" from Swirlix, Slurpuff, or Togetic. No problem, level the thing to Lv.45 and breed it then. The Egg Move is easy enough to add to this.
4. It must have 6IVs. Wait a second. Is this a wishlist or a request?

So, needless to say, the rest is easy and mostly done (except for the Egg Move, not done yet because of IV breeding purposes; I only want to train a 5IV male that long right now). The 6IV stipulation forces a LOT of editing into the plan. Got my 2IV Safari Spritzee, bred a dozen, selected the 3IV female, bred another dozen, and luckily skipped the 4IV step by breeding directly into a 5IV 31/31/xx/31/31/31. Bingo. Time to randomly breed my Relaxed Swirlix to get a 4IV one (any will do), then rebreed that one with the Everstone for the 5IV one. Get both mates to Lv.45 or well beyond, then breed those things like crazy. I am ready to bow out at a 5IV baby with the best five IVs in place.

It's a good thing I have no life.

Ghost Lunis July 2nd, 2014 5:44 AM

I'm about ready to turn on my heart gold and look for a female gastly after out what apricorn makes the heavy ball. I'm about ready to put lotad on hold.

Good luck on that spritzee.

I'm breeding Relaxed bulbasuar now.. Was thinking i'd go for its highest stat, put 252 evs into it and sp. defense.. make it bulky but i'm not sure if that'd be good or not..

It really prevents use of self-destruction moves, making it even more useless for something that actually learns the move. However:

Quote:

Damp prevents the Ability Aftermath from doing damage when its user faints. Damp affects non-adjacent Pokémon in Triple Battles.
So Drifloon can have Aftermath on Route 8. So can Skuntank elsewhere. And, in online battles, you might find Voltorb/Electrode/Trubbish/Garbodor with it as hidden abilities. If any of these Pokémon faint, it has no effect on Mudkip and its evolutions. In other words, it can be useful if trying to Poké Radar a Shiny Drifloom.

The-Veteran July 2nd, 2014 12:48 PM

I just want a Mudkip with its hidden ability :)
