Crunchy or chewy? Dunk or dry??
(This post was inspired by Owl in the IRC chat)
I refer to cookies, of course. When one is indulging in a cookie, do you prefer it to be chewy or crunchy? Dunk, or dry? What sort of cookies do you like? Personally, I'm all about the chewy. My main exception would be Oreos, which are acceptable when dunking in milk! My favorite cookies are probably White chocolate macadamia, double chunk, and Oreos. What about y'all? |
Chewy, definitely. I love baking, and I love chocolate chip cookies and chocolate crinkles right out of the oven. Making the former tomorrow. ♥
But, for me, they'll be dry. I'm allergic to milk and dunking them in soy milk just isn't the same. :( |
Crunchy and Dry. But, I do have a soft spot for chewy sometimes. Never tried to dunk my cookies in milk, so that's a rather unknown concept to me, haha.
My preferred cookies are white chocolate, chocolate almonds, dark chocolate, and the holy grail of cookies, Oreos. (yeah I don't dunk oreos lol.) Funny enough, milk chocolate is my least preferred type for cookies. Not really sure as to why, but I just do. |
I prefer crunchy cookies over chewy when I'm buying cookies, but when they're homebaked, I prefer them to be chewy. I always drink milk with cookies (it feels sacrilegious not to) but I don't like dunking my cookies in milk. I used to try to do it all the time as a kid but I never really liked the taste of the cookies and it contaminates the milk so eventually I stopped trying to do it at all and I'm much happier.
My favourite kind of cookies are probably Girl Guide cookies but I haven't liked them nearly as much since they switched manufacturers... like... a decade ago? I still think back on them fondly, though... especially the mint chocolate ones. My favourite cookies that I eat much more often are Oreos. Specifically Canadian Oreos over American ones... the recipe is slightly different and Canadian Oreos are a bit crunchier and a little sweeter. :) |

in a box? Would you eat them with a fox? |
I really like my crunchy cookies. Allows me to savour every bite's sound...
...that sounded better in my mind. I usually just have them as is, only exception being Oreos of course. Milk's a necessity for eating Oreos, in my opinion. :p I'm not someone for variety. I usually stick with double choc or choc chip, the usual. |
Mm, chewy. I don't think I've ever met anyone that likes crunchy cookies, haha. I usually eat them dry, but dunking is good too. I like pretty much all kinds of cookies (no nuts though), but I recently tried these red velvet cookies, I think they're my new favorites.
|
My mommy spoiled me with her extra chewy chocolate chip cookies. I hate when my cookies are too crunchy, and that's why I don't particularly like Oreos for that matter. XD

Chewy cookies is are my guilty pleasure, and my one way ticket to diabetes :D And I usually don't dunk, with the exception of Oreos. Those taste phenomenal with ice cold milk.

So you say Try them! Try them! And you may Nowhere, Owl, shall I go. Nuts in cookies are grand, you know! |
Chewy unless Oreos.
Dry unless Oreos. :D |
Chewy always. Always. Crunchy cookies always seem really dry no matter what you do with them. Not a huge fan of dunking either, except for on the occasion that I eat Oreos. They're the one exception to both my rules.
|
They have to be chewy with a crunchy edge so I am getting both.
|
I didn't know people held such strongly-held beliefs on cookies. Maybe I'm just gluttonous - if you hand me a cookie, I will eat it. That's about as far as I go in analyzing my cookie tastes. Except I don't dunk them because I'm too lazy.
I do love birthday cake Oreos though. |
Well I prefer my cookies with milk and the best cookies for milk are usually crunchy ones because they absorb the milk and become really soft. I've done it with chewy cookies and not much changes when you dip them.
Oatmeal raisin are my favorite cookies which is weird since I'm not big on raisins but whateverrr. I also love gingerbread, chocolate chip, and those old lady butter cookies that come in a tin. Also a big fan of almost every girl scout cookie. |
I love chewy/soft cookies, not so much of a fan of hard cookies to be honest. If they are hard, I have to have milk with them to make them softer.
I love dunking the chewy ones too, though. ^.^ I can't really eat too many cookies without having milk. As for my favorite cookies...ehh really any that are soft lol. I'm not sure I have a favorite, I really like sugar cookies. Chocolate chip...really any that don't have too much in it, I avoid nuts lol. |
I would love to have some chocolate chip cookies right about now. Crunchy or chewy, meh. I want the one with rainbow M&Ms.
|
Give me some chewy chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin cookies along with some hot chocolate mixed with coffee and I'll be good for the day.
|
I need my cookies to be chewy. If they are crunchy I need to dunk it. I can't deal with crunchy dry cookies.
|
I'll dip most biscuits/cookies into tea :P
As for cookies themselves, I prefer crunchy chocolate chip ones. |
I like all kinds of cookies! <3333
But I can't stand them being all wet and dunked in milk...having the cookie crumbs floating in your milk...ugh. >_< |
I'm all up in that semi-chewy/crunchy cookie. I don't like them too soft, but not hard as a rock as either. Lemon zest cookies are my thing. I can't stand lemons or coconuts, but when you zest 'em and put them on a cookie (Or candy bar), I'm good with it.
|
Love the taste of chewy cookies because they just melt in your mouth, especially chocolate chip ones, yum. I've never been one to dunk them though, even with Oreos I never did \: Never liked milk with anything besides cereal so that wasn't an option XD
