Which kind of discussions do you find the most intriguing?

Which sort of debates do you find to be the most verbose and intriguing? Which debates are the most flammable? Is it religious, economic, political, social, historical, trivial, or something else?

Tbqh I find discussions on superheroes and superpowers to be the most interesting. Of all. Yep. So much more fun and vivid than discussing the nasty world we actually live in, with politics, social problems, war... War without superheroes, I mean. Nasty stuff.

I used to love debates and then at some unknown point in my life I just started hating arguing with people. I find debates that revolve around history to be interesting. I really love history so I guess that's why I can tolerate it. I tend to find religious debates to be the worst. I just see people getting so passionate and angry over things that no one can really prove and it just seems so pointless to me. Or sometimes I feel like the people who are in religious debates don't really represent their own religion that well for them to speak for it.

Cue everyone rolling their eyes but I like deep discussions about souls, life, what the afterlife could be like/does it even exist, space, time, etc. I like to think and discuss the unknown I guess because there isn't a right or wrong answer. It's all open to interpretation and it's fun to hear someone else's thoughts on such things. I guess this could be something you could debate too, but since there isn't any hard facts idk how far you could get and I rather discuss than debate anyway.

I don't debate. I don't care about economic, political, or historical discussions. I'll talk about spirituality, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, and other social and trivial things.

I like to be able to go from a stupid conversation to a super deep (meaning convos about philosophy and spirituality, strictly - those are the only convos that I consider to be deep) one and then come back around. If I can do that with someone, I consider you a great person and want to be your friend, or more your friend than we were if we were already friends.

I also like talking about fantasy. Like Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire, Hunger Games, and so on.
Also TV and music.

From random ♥♥♥♥ to religion.

I usually start out with a completely random conversation, which turns into something deep as time goes on. That is, if the person sticks around for that long, 'cause most people just don't share the same interests with me. {XD}

Science and technology; humanity's place in the universe. Really, bring up anything I can construe toward a cosmic context and I may start waxing Sagan.

Flammable? Hmm, I tend to stay away from religious discussions as I'm not very spiritual and haven't anything worthwhile to say. Likewise, philosophy; I'm a 'take life as it comes' type of person and am more inclined to resolve existential problems through practicality. That's not to say I find discussions on these topics disinteresting, I just generally don't think I'd achieve anything through taking part.

Oh, yeah, and then there's politics, which I just flat-out don't care about. Everyone's a liar, end of story.

The differing views people take on politics and religion really intrigues me, and those are the kinds of threads I follow over in D&D. While I'm not as passionate about these things as the D&D regulars, I'll still chime in with my two cents whenever I feel like I have something to add. ^_^;

I think anything that can be seen from a sociological or psychological perspective is the type of discussions that intrigue me the most, mainly from the background of studying psychology for 2.5 years. Being able to understand the human mind, and giving reason for human behaviours were the reasons why I chose to major in that subject to begin with. So I'd like to think I can bring a more social-psychological standpoint into discussions instead of spouting nonsense while trying to understand the topic at hand.
