"NOOO! COMCAST!!!"
That's what happens when the Internet dies at a terribly inconvenient time. >:(
I lost my ELO for that... Anyways, what is your most frustrating moment of the Internet dying on you? |
When I'm trying to listen to spotify on the other side of the house while I'm going to sleep and the connection dies and then comes back every like 2 or 3 minutes. And if I'm listening to metal it will scare me when it randomly turns back on because I'll be thinking about something and then boom really crazy guitar stuff and screaming out of nowhere.
|
Although this has never happened, I get nervous every time I take a quiz or test online. There isn't a guarantee that my router won't just decide to hiccup or croak.
Most frustrating time would be in the middle of making a lengthy post, but I started using Lazarus to save my progress. |
Since I have DSL, whenever the phone rings, and I answer it and after the call is completed, the connection goes down. This also happens when the call goes to the answering machine. The modem and router are plugged into a surge protector, so in order to reset it, I would turn the switch off, then back on.

When I am playing Pokemon Showdown or I'm in an irc chat asking a question or something. I've lost countless battles because of the internet dying on me D:
|
When I'm writing down something for roleplaying. I just feel like I'd destroy the modem for losing my post :(
|
I don't think any of you will know what I'm talking about with this.
There's this game called Runescape. A certain amount of money is = to real life money from people who buy it. It's not allowed, but people do anyways. There are extremely rare items called Party Hats and the cash itself. Well, let's just put it this way. Due to the mass-clicking and people, after getting enough stuff to make $200 irl, my Internet proceeded to crash, roll back the game and have me lose what I just got. I shed tears that day. |
When I'm in class, and I don't want to pay attention. Which is more often than not every class.
|
My Internet and cell phone are both endlessly frustrating. It's definitely a little nerve-racking to take my tests online..
I live on an island. Near an airport. Cue cell jammers, really crappy connections, and a lack of internet providers to begin with. The best connection available here at all is 10 mbps, but you're beyond lucky if 3-5 is the speed you're getting on any given day. There's also a lot of 'oopsies' as what little connection we do have goes out regularly. ...On the upside, I dislike multiplayer anyway? :( |

Internet always shuts down on 9 PM for me. And whenever that happens:
1. I'm watching a video 2. I'm typing a long reply 3. I'm downloading something I hate it. |
I'm gonna toss this over to T&I, they could use some activity :P
|
T&I exists for a reason, y'all :P
Anyways, to answer the OP: it's not just Comcast that this happens on. It happens on any ISP at any given time, though it might not be as frequent on other ISPs as it is for your Comcast. My internet rarely goes out, and when it does I just try to troubleshoot the problem to see if it's on my end or if it's on my ISP's end, most of the time being the latter when it goes out. |
I've had Internet failures happen to me plenty of times before; most serious would be when I was writing an important e-mail, and was required to have it sent within thirty minutes or so. xD;; Thankfully, though, I got my connection fixed pretty quickly, but it was still sort of… scary, I suppose, haha.

Australia is often stated to have one of the most terrible Internet speeds and stability in the world, and my connection sure fits the bill. Recently, my Internet has randomly began cutting out on me, which kicks me out of any IRC conversations I may be in or console multiplayer games I might be playing. When it's not cutting out, it's drastically slowing down to something reminiscent of dial-up for indefinitie periods of time, which is beyond frustrating. We never go over our usage limit (it's 200GB) and two routers we've tried aren't the issue (although the Netgear one we have is much easier and better to use), so I'm almost certain the problem lies with the ISP. We're going to contact them soon to try and get everything sorted out u_u
