Will you be replaying RSE?

Now that we've got remakes on the way will you be replaying the original Ruby, Sapphire and/or Emerald to better reacquaint yourselves with Hoenn during the next few months or will you be avoiding the games?

The Doctor May 7th, 2014 11:53 AM

I know the games off by heart since for about 2 years of my life I only owned Emerald and that was all I had for travelling with.

But yeah, I wanna play Ruby since I've never played it.

Aether★ May 7th, 2014 11:55 AM

I'm going to play my Ruby on GBA, since I've bought it some time ago, but I haven't even started playing it. Ruby is one of my favorites.

Wobbu May 7th, 2014 11:56 AM

Well, I started playing Ruby a few months ago because I needed the legendaries from it, but I assume the new games will have the same legendaries if not more, which defeats my purpose. I've played RSE enough to know exactly what happens and to the point where I can remember some Trainers' names and teams o_0 so I won't be replaying RSE (unless it's for a challenge).

Pendraflare May 7th, 2014 11:58 AM

Yeah, i'll have to give it another play through. I have to do Ruby for my Ultimate Wedlocke, anyway, so I might zip through that in the meantime.

blue May 7th, 2014 12:04 PM

Yes, I will actually! I've got my Emerald cartridge upstairs and I started a few weeks back, I'm only upto the second Gym so this will give me the motivation to complete it in time for November. :)

Meksal May 7th, 2014 12:05 PM

I've got my fill of R/S/E, I play it a lot on my emulator.

Arlo May 7th, 2014 12:15 PM

Actually, I already was. I just restarted Emerald a while back, and am currently part way up Route 119, about to spend some time fishing for a Feebas.

TwilightBlade May 7th, 2014 12:16 PM

Possibly, since I still need to get a shiny Regirock and Registeel. My legendary collection was almost complete...

Soph3 May 7th, 2014 12:17 PM

Yeah I think i'll replay Ruby, actually! Might make as a nice little appetiser before November...hehe.

Sheep May 7th, 2014 12:19 PM

I probably will even though I've played through R/S/E at least 30 times by now. Never gets old! Would be a nice way to hype myself up for the remakes, especially if I dive into a challenge (pink monocolor yay).

Hikamaru May 7th, 2014 12:24 PM

I would have replayed my old games, but going back to pre-4th Gen mechanics would be hard for me since I've been too used to the modern mechanics for 6 years now.

Lihtal May 7th, 2014 12:32 PM

Currently going trough Ruby again! oh the memories, the excitement, the feels!

RedJ May 7th, 2014 12:44 PM

Nope. Playing the original not long before a remake tends to take any fun out of a remake for me since they tend to (mostly) be the exact same game content wise, so I wont be replaying it.

...plus, my Ruby and Sapphire stopped working ages ago, so I couldn't even if I wanted to.

Tsutarja May 7th, 2014 12:46 PM

For nostalgic purposes, I guess it wouldn't hurt me one bit to touch my Emerald version.

Sydian May 7th, 2014 12:47 PM

I actually just got a copy of Sapphire in French so...already ahead of the game on that one. :P

NiirB May 7th, 2014 12:50 PM

Replaying emerald as we speak!

Brendino May 7th, 2014 12:53 PM

I've poured more hours into Sapphire than I have any other Pokemon game, so I probably won't bother playing through the entire game again before OR/AS come out. I'll probably just end up doing the same thing I did with Gold prior to HG/SS coming out- play around with it for an hour or two just before the game comes out, just to get even more hyped for the release.

Leaf Magics May 7th, 2014 1:01 PM

I actually replayed the three a few months ago.

On a side note, I'm still getting Ribbons on the box legendaries on Emerald before transferring them. Then they'll meet their remake relatives.

-Jared- May 7th, 2014 1:13 PM

I'm not touching them. It'll be better for nostalgia I think if I leave them alone.

Gogoat Rocks! May 7th, 2014 1:26 PM

I've played ruby & sapphire so many times I learned everything off by heart. But i think it's good to play them again :)

Mesmerella May 7th, 2014 1:27 PM

Absolutely! I don't think I'll ever stop playing the originals, even after OR/AS comes out. They're just too precious to me. C:

I just started replaying Emerald about a week ago, the re-release makes me second guess whether to replay or not, I dunno. I love 3rd gen, real good times associated with it. Happy they're getting a remake, but because they still work with the current gen, I almost wish they would just leave them as is and develop a big, multi continent game with some kind of mmo element. Lots of mixed emotions here clearly, still processing.

mikey May 7th, 2014 2:01 PM

Definitely. I love replaying them, and haven't in awhile due to XY and college. You can bet when I am off for summer break I will be playing through Hoenn!

Aquacorde May 7th, 2014 2:39 PM

I still love Emerald to death and am most of the way through a run right now so I'll finish that at least! I don't really need to do any re-acquainting though considering that I recently found out I know most of the random NPC teams by heart and can walk a fair amount of routes with my eyes closed. -v-;
