Braille Puzzles
I remember the puzzles of the Regis when I was a kid and it really annoyed me. But I think the idea is kind of cool. I think it will bring a little challenge, if it was changed a little. Thoughts?
|
I thought the one to actually open the Regi caves rather trolly as I never like using a Wailord.
Wailmer has always been my Hoenn Surf buddy. Hoping for a sick facepalmer to get Regigigas though. . |
Oh yeah, that's not going to come back much, because that had people puzzled for a long time. May be the same old puzzle, but not in Braille is something called for, since it's kind of abusive that they're using blind language on a visual screen where we can't feel the letters. It emerges with the irony that blind people won't be able to see it either. The puzzles were fun though.

I think with the growing number of players of the series, they might make the puzzle easier to pass.
After all, who wants to Google all this stuff? |

I hope they keep them, just for old time's sake. And I kind of liked it being a secret you could only access online, but I guess that doesn't really make sense since a lot of players might not have access to the Internet D; though I do hope that they include Regigigas, maybe you have to catch all 3 and then go to a certain place or something. I mean, he is the trio's leader.
|
Yeah most people would probably Google them which would ruin the fun anyways. I wouldn't want them TOO easy though. In the middle is good. ^-^b
If anything though, I kinda would like them to bring back something to do with the Regis. As a kid, I never knew these puzzles existed so it would be fun to give it a try for the first time. xD |
The Regi puzzles were some of my favourite parts of the game. I just loved the mystery and cryptic nature behind them. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing them make a comeback or at least some sort of homage to the original puzzles.
|
The braille puzzles were so confusing for me as a kid and I had to pick up a guidebook to be able to do understand them. v_v I enjoyed the puzzles overall but wish there were more hints in the game as to how to do them; I'd be totally fine with them back under that circumstance aha.
The methods to obtain the regis were perfect otherwise and I'm very excited to see how it's expanded upon. :) |
I'd love them to come back as a wee extra but I don't think they will.
|
I loved them and for all the people saying that you could not understand it. In the back of the manuel there was a translation alphabet so that's how you were supposed to figure it out.
|
Omg I loved those puzzles!! Took me some years to solve them LOL I never noticed the translation was in the booklet.... I didn't have internet back then :P

I'd rather they keep them, to be honest. Granted, it never really occurred to me that you could capture the Regis until I discovered the Internet. I got it on my first try, though, which was quite an accomplishment back then haha
If they do change it, hopefully it's at least as challenging as a braille puzzle :p |
I hope that Game Freak changes the puzzles, and utilizes the new 3D feature to help us figure them out. I hope that they are as challenging as before, but are different to figure out. The only difference between now and then is that we have more resources. I remember figuring out those puzzles post game, and boy were they a pain! However, the feeling of satisfaction I had after getting the Regis and completed the puzzles were well worth it. :)
|
I figured half of them myself. However, after figuring out that they were Braille and that the slabs were indeed in alphabetical order (i had a theory) it became easier after writting down the code. Though the way they were worded still made them mysterious.
|
I actually like how there was Braille in Pokemon back in RSE so I can't wait for it to return.
I hope they could add new puzzles connected to the Regis haha :) |

I still remember that the key is in the slabs, so even though I forgot what letter it is I'll know. If there is another puzzle added it'll be for Regigigas. Wonder if Unown script will reappear...irc it was used for Regigigas in DPP.
|
The Braille puzzles were pretty interesting. I had no idea the Regi trio existed when first playing the games as a kid, so I resorted to a guidebook in order to solve the mystery. It took me a while to actually solve the puzzle, and that was frustrating, but I hope it comes back in ORAS.

I remember a group of friends and some other people who lived near me who played pokemon that I didn't know well all found out about the 'Sealed Chamber' around the same time because one person found out about it, (this was all before any of us really knew how to use the internet too BTW) and we all had no idea what to do until one of the people who I didn't know well told us that the book that comes with the game tells you what the symbols (braille?) mean and we all translated it, was something I still remember doing today, would actually enjoy trying to do it all over again, as frustrating as it was to do what needed to be done (A Relicanth and a Wailord at the front and end of your party, who comes up with that as a method of getting a pokemon, I've never went through so much to catch some Pokemon before, but it felt so rewarding) also back in those days we were all trying to complete the pokedex which I couldn't be bothered attempting now (because of 700+... and not having time for that...)
|
What if you found all of the three Regis and come back to the Sealed Chamber with them and trigger an event that you could have a chance of capturing Regigigas?
|
I hope Game Freak keeps the Braille, and I hope the games include digital booklets with the Braille alphabet so that the puzzles are even more cryptic since even less people read the digital booklets compared to those who read the physical ones!
I remember reading somewhere (or maybe I was watching an interview?) where Satoshi Tajiri stated he wanted to include Braille specifically in RSE. If that's true, I think it would be a shame if the Braille puzzles were removed. |
Desintagrate the brail puzzls

The alphabet is in the slabs, so as long as one figures out that each one of them stands for a letter it won't be as hard. (I did it with out the booklet...all those hours...). They also have to keep that girl who gives out berries in Sootopolis as Masuda named her (In japan at least) after his (at the time) new born daughter. |
