Mega evolutions confirmed for Groudon and Kyogre, basically. So much for all the Mega evo naysayers :p

Iceshadow3317 May 10th, 2014 3:33 PM

Yeah, basically lol. So is this all that was shown?

It is more than enough for me, just glad to see that it looks like it is 3d. I can't wait to see Brendan's and May's 3d forms.

Gyardosamped May 10th, 2014 3:33 PM

The official Pokémon Youtube page just released this video of some of the footage seen on Pokémon Get TV:

Riansky May 10th, 2014 3:35 PM

I'm wondering why in the hell does Groudon comes out of water?

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 10th, 2014 3:35 PM

If you look closely at Groudon's feet it's standing on Water. Could they be remaking the Sootopolis fight scene from Emerald to some degree? Or this is the precursor to before Groudon raises any land.

They look normal to me... Not sure what the people on the show were seeing.

Yeah, it seems as though those are their normal forms there, but I think that footage mirrors what was seen on Pokémon Get TV. They could also be in the process of transitioning into their mega forms in the video?

Iceshadow3317 May 10th, 2014 3:38 PM

I just can't wait to see the rest of Hoenn and player models in 3D.

According to Serebii, they were pointing out how different they looked compared to the box art.

blue May 10th, 2014 3:40 PM

Looks like they're near Sootopolis City, those cutscenes are just incredible though.

I think that's just a little detail; he's probably standing over some land that's growing that's wasn't above sea level just yet.

Also, TOTALLY CALLED IT LIKE A DAY AGO:

Really disappointed. I really hoped we'd see more. Oh well, we'll just have to wait a bit longer for other peeks. Also I really do wish those aren't the Mega evolutions of those two.

Me too! It...didn't make sense for obvious reasons. I think it should have bursted out from the Earth or out of a volcano or something.

Rivvon May 10th, 2014 3:41 PM

I'm glad they mentioned that the boxart "forms" look like Mega Evolutions, so we know it's not an impossibility.

But that was honestly underwhelming--I was expecting actual gameplay footage, not 5 seconds of a cutscene, with no sound on top of that.

The Doctor May 10th, 2014 3:45 PM

GUYS They aren't transitioning into their mega forms, that was their abilities activating, Drought and Drizzle.

um nobody mentioned the fact that they were mega evolving in the footage

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 10th, 2014 3:46 PM

I think them mentioning their Mega Evolutions will lead to them being revealed to be more than mere Megas...something beyond the average Mega Evolution.

blue May 10th, 2014 3:48 PM

I guess we will have to wait until next week, not to mention we have CoroCoro leaking tomorrow hopefully! Atleast we've got something to look forward too next weekend assuming they're showing more footage on Get TV again.

Ooo true true, hopefully they do leak and it's something worthwhile too. If it's more Groudon and Kyogre then argh.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 10th, 2014 3:53 PM

I think they should only go Mega after Rayquaza comes down and does the Emerald scene. After that the mascot can regain their spot light. Maybe go against their master too...

KostK2Boss May 10th, 2014 3:54 PM

That was a bit of a letdown, but then again it's better than nothing and we'll probably get more actual ORAS reveals in about a month or two, so it's all good.
Also, Sootopolis City's crater is now apparently a regular brown rock :(

Princess Diana May 10th, 2014 3:54 PM

That trailer was a bit of a non-entity. Is there not a Kyogre vs. Groundon battle in SR or is that just in Emerald?

Only in Emerald do Kyogre and Groudon battle, yes. They are awakened alone in Ruby and Sapphire.

So I guess we can infer from this footage that they may be sticking to RS's plot more so than Emerald's.

mikey May 10th, 2014 3:57 PM

I didn't expect much. I mean, it won't be out until November, we weren't going to get much. I'm content with these cut scenes of Groudon and Kyogre. Its good to see them in 3D! This looks a lot like the battle they have, I was actually expecting Rayquaza at the end because it was all cloudy. This was before I realized it was just Drizzle activating haha.

It is just in Emerald. It was probably the start of the cutscene that happens in Emerald. And it could just be a random battle to introduce the mascots like in XY. They showed Xernias and Yvelta battling one another multiple times in commercials and trailers, but they did not battle in the games.

All I really wanted in this showcase, was to confirm that it was in 3d and not 2d like it was on GBA. I am very glad it is 3D as I have said about 10 times now.

Wait what??? I'm pretty sure the confrontation happens in Ruby and Sapphire as well o_O
