Corocoro (release for July) and E3 Speculation and Discussion thread

Staff edit: The June CoroCoro has been leaked! Click here for information and get discussing. :)

June is a big month as it has the potential to reveal several of the secrets about these games. This month's release of Corocoro said they'll have news in their next issue (the one coming out in June). Also there's E3 in June. Last year they unveiled the Fairy type during their E3 stream. Do you think they'll release something big this year too? Discuss.

blue May 11th, 2014 3:55 PM

June is going to be an exciting month for gaming news, particularly for Pokon omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and I can't wait! I'm pretty sure we will get to see a few of the towns, a couple of the battles and perhaps a new mega evolution or two?

James169 May 11th, 2014 4:42 PM

Junes usually a good month for me, although that's mainly because of my birthday :3 back on topic i only really want to see some overworld images/ a little more info and after that I'm staying away from any news about the games

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 11th, 2014 6:58 PM

@ James It sort of helps that they announced these games closer to release compared to XY. One is less likely to give in.

I think we'll see a full fledged trailer at E3. Maybe like the HGSS New Bark town trailer.

Eevee May 11th, 2014 8:23 PM

I hope that they show something interesting. A battle or lands or in game features.

The trailer they showed was really disappointing.

Bobbylicious May 11th, 2014 8:34 PM

as long as they show something interesting (even gameplay would be fine), i'll be happy.

i'm honestly not that excited right now

This could be nice to see, and I'm hoping for this as well. The HGSS trailer, like you said, was a really nicely made trailer, and this early on it could help to show one of ORAS like that.

Evening May 11th, 2014 9:13 PM

Wow, really? Nobody has mentioned DIVE?
They should show off Kyogre and Groudon's battle.

I don't think CoroCoro would release gameplay screens so early, they're probably going to go over the designs, protags and possible remade characters. It would be cool if Dive came up, though.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 11th, 2014 10:16 PM

A trailer or screenshots of the player underwater would be sweet :3

Natsu Dragneel May 11th, 2014 10:20 PM

Cant wait for June. Hope they reveal some new forms/megas :)

Liberal Army May 11th, 2014 10:53 PM

I think there will be a trailer at the E3, as well as information about Gryogre's new forms/Mega's. I also expect a release date (if it's not next momth, it will be revealed in July).
The July CoroCoro issue (June 14th) is going to contain artwork of Brendan, May and Prof. Birch.
The magazine will most likely just summarize E3, and show us some screenshots from the trailer.

Treecko May 11th, 2014 11:59 PM

I'm thinking we should at least see Brendan and May's new designs/artwork and the new artwork for the starters in CoroCoro. I'm hoping we get a few clips of gameplay, particularly battling and maybe info on secret bases.

Nintendo has just announced their plans for E3 2014 which include a Super Smash Bros. tournament, unscripted game demos and…no stage presentation, yet again.

Last year, Nintendo famously gave up their stage slot at E3 in favor of a Nintendo Direct presentation, a recorded video going over their new games and gaming related news.

This year, Nintendo is promising a “Digital Event,” something that isn’t being called a Nintendo Direct, but is still a “new kind of video program that will reveal and provide further detail about the gaming experiences on the way for Nintendo platforms in 2014 and beyond.” That will air at 9 AM PST on Tuesday, June 10th.

From the sound of it, it almost seems like Nintendo has contracted a permanent case of stage fright.

reggie2

Nearly all of their announcements now, big and small, are made through recorded Nintendo Direct presentations, and while Microsoft MSFT +1.01% and Sony will surely have big live press conferences at E3 this year, once again Nintendo will turn to video rather than presenting live.

By avoiding a stage show, it seems like Nintendo may not have all that much to say or show compared to their competition. Nintendo’s E3 direct was only 41 minutes, less than half as long as Sony or Microsoft’s presentations. Granted, the Xbox One and PS4 events were filled with a fair amount of fluff, but it’s not as if Nintendo’s Direct was flawless either, announcing a scarce few new games.

Nintendo has a few advantages by avoiding the stage show game. Every year the Big Three are graded on whose presentation was the best. Last year, Sony trounced Microsoft by publicly humiliating them over Xbox One’s always on/used game functionality, with the reveal of a $100 price gap to boot. Nintendo? They essentially took their ball and went home. It’s a lot harder to grade someone when they don’t play on the same field.

Avoiding a 90 minute+ stage show allows them to dodge awkward moments that tend to plague those events, and also keep things rather short if they really don’t have all that much to say. But that’s a problem, considering all anyone ever wants from Nintendo is the big, (preferably live) reveal of hugely anticipated titles. Nintendo having taped presentations half the length of their competitor’s only seems to reinforce the notion that they’re not on the same level any more. It used to be a yearly three way slug-fest, but now it’s just Microsoft vs. Sony with Nintendo running the risk of being eclipsed in terms of relevance by someone like Oculus.

There’s no telling exactly what this new “Digital Event” will be. Perhaps it will be somewhat more in depth than just another Direct, and I really hope that’s the case. Nintendo has a lot to prove in an increasingly crowded video game space, one where the Xbox One and PS4 are shattering their predecessor’s records, while the Wii U continues to struggle. Nintendo almost seemed like a non-factor at last year’s E3 with their extremely limited presence and lack of a live presentation. It’s unclear why they thought that was a successful way to present themselves, and why they’re doing more of the same this year. Nintendo needs excited, energized fans, and taped video presentations don’t seem like the best way to generate that sort of enthusiasm.

In general, I’ve never been a huge fan of Nintendo Directs as a presentation format. As a journalist, it’s hard to liveblog or cover in a timely fashion as there are literally no breaks in content, and one thing jumps to the next instantly. As a gamer, it’s hard to trust prerecorded footage where at least stage presentations have live gameplay (even if it’s scripted to some degree). There’s no live audience so everything feels flat and over-rehearsed. There’s no reason for one Nintendo Direct to be all that much more important than another, given how many there are, and this one will just happen to air during E3 with a bit more news than usual. Sony and Microsoft live presentations are once or twice a year at best, making them special events, but we’re practically drowning in Nintendo Directs at this point.

I wondered yesterday if Nintendo would use E3 to announce whatever it is they’re planning in the entertainment realm outside of gaming, this big mystery shift in the company that promises to improve “quality of life” in ways not necessarily tied to video games. I have a hunch that won’t happen during this “Digital Event” given their proclaimed focus on gaming exclusively in this announcement. I suppose that will be another Direct, another day, and I’m really guessing they won’t do a live reveal with their ongoing fear of public speaking.

Nintendo, perplexing as ever, but rarely boring.

Nintendo's official announcement: http://e3.nintendo.com/#2014/

Seems only focus so far is on Super Smash Brothers. May not get a large mention of ORAS at E3 if any at all. There is a small bit about Nintendo's treehouse which showcases some of the games on the floor, but I dunno if we can count on a copy of ORAS being available at that time.

CoroCoro may be the only real info er get.

blue May 12th, 2014 2:21 PM

Thinking about it June may be a little too soon to present ORAS at E3 with it being such a big event, I'm sure they will showcase something but maybe not something so colossal. It's more likely that over the next 6 months information will be revealed via Get TV, CoroCoro, Youtube and Twitter.

Some speculate that the reason they're not having a show on stage is because they might have some big news, which they don't wish to leak. So, it could either be that they have nothing big or that they have a big announcement.

Pepperton May 12th, 2014 3:04 PM

I'm definitely hoping they show us some overworld screenshots to give us an idea of how the game is going to look, but I don't expect anything too groundbreaking. Especially based off of this first teaser, it seems like Nintendo wants to be a little more secretive with this release. However, I look forward to being proved wrong!

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 12th, 2014 3:11 PM

I think they want to save the secret of the new Groudon/ Kyogre until we get closer like they saved the news about the Fairy type as long as they could. That resulted in a lot of hype and speculation so it makes sense that they may want to replicate it.

That would be true if this were the first time, but two years in a row typically means that they don't want to focus more attention than they need. Last years E3 for Nintendo was very shallow, this year they seem to be in the same predicament. It could be due to budgeting issues with their lack of profits. Nintendo definitely doesn't seem to be planing anything major like last year though.

Not sure if we can base that on merely one previous year, if this were the third with two like last years than maybe. Remember two doesn't make a pattern, like wise just one previous year makes it less so.
A trailer or another teaser at least seems possible. Also the trailer for E3 seems to hint that they have a secret stash of games/game information for E3 xD.

wakachamo May 12th, 2014 4:48 PM

Wow, can barely believe that E3 is less than a month away. That's insane.

Not sure how much info we'll get at E3 itself; I can see it panning out with a dedicated Direct around that time, with maybe a second one a few weeks later, with a ton of CoroCoro stuff happening in between. I think they're gonna have to save quite a few things for the weeks and months after E3 especially considering the fact that November is still quite some time away from the event itself.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 12th, 2014 5:56 PM

They proably are going to not reveal the updated Hoenn map until later on, or hide some areas. Also I think they'll save the secrets of the mascot until the end, or allow us to discover them ourselves.

Release date mabye?

I dont know some gameplay would be nice but its very early.

What is e3 anyway?

E3 is a large video game exposition where publishers and developers showcase any new software and hardware that they are working on.

I understand that they may want to save information for closer to the games' release, but seeing as these are remakes, we already have a general idea of what to expect. There is also less time between now and the release date, so they can't hold off for too long. I expect (hope for) a steadier stream of information than what we received for XY in general.

Hopefully E3 will give us at least a short video of actual gameplay (a long video would be nice, but I don't want to get my hopes up just in case), and I'd like CoroCoro to reveal to us the protagonists, and show us at least the starters (with in-game screenshots, and perhaps some new art, too). If CoroCoro is especially generous, we may even see Prof. Birch (and Norman and Wally), or if there are any new characters.

Killjoy May 15th, 2014 6:54 PM

I would love to see how the overworld will look. I'm kinda fascinated thinking about how they're going to convert the old overworld to the new graphical style

Character art would be nice too

Same here. The way Kalos cities are it'll be interesting to see if Hoenn's take on a similar but Japanese looking apperance to them.

Hatsune Mika May 16th, 2014 5:16 AM

I think it would be better to see Hoenn in 3D because it feels like a game that deserved it, like it was just waiting to be brought back to life to demolish competition.

WishCookie May 16th, 2014 5:22 AM

I don't even know why people think Groudon and Kyogre will have new forms. Did they confirm it or anything?

Rayquaza2016 May 16th, 2014 5:29 AM

I wanna see some gameplay and some mega evolutions revealed. June's the holidays. ;)

Typhlosion06 May 16th, 2014 9:12 AM

I think we'll see two things in June for ORAS
E3 - some kind of trailer (maybe :30 to 1:00)
Corocoro - more screens/details (potentially about the same trailer , potentially all new)

1. The Groudon and Kyogre look different on the boxart of ORAS than their original designs. It would not make sense if these were just special designs for boxart.
2. The Japanese website said these Groidon and Kyogre are 'never before seen Pokemon'. This was also said to B/W-Kyurem and Mega Mewtwo Y.
3. Both Corocoro and Get TV compared the boxart Groudon and Kyogre to the original designs of them.

Chr. Draco May 16th, 2014 11:08 AM

i think they will show things like some of the berries that are not found in XY and some layout of the region.

Well, I think they look exactly the same. The only difference is that they are highlighted at some parts of their body compared to the original design and that can't possibly be their mega since a mega would have been a bit more extreme.

Yes I agree. That's why I think these are rather unimportant forms than Mega Evolutions. Xerneas and Keldeo have such forms. GF must stay away from Groudon and Kyogre and leave them as they are. I don't care if this is only for marketing purposes.

Back on topic, I think Mega [email protected] will be revealed in CoroCoro. This issue is going to be a 'legendary scoop'. It was also recently revealed Mega Evolution - act II is airing soon. This episode could feauture Mega [email protected]

I agree, they may not be mega's but they are alternate forms. Alternate forms aren't all drastic changes. Look at Burmy and Wormadam, Shellos and Gastrodon, Meowstic, and Aegislash. They were pretty much identical body types with very small adjustments to create alternate forms/form differences.

I don't think these are highlights like how Reshiram, Zekrom, Black Kyurem, and White Kyurem occassionally light up.

Only thing highly off is Groudon's Arm. Where original art, the black lines (which should be the glowing lines in Omega) are indented with the red portions above, but the glowing parts are above or equal with the red parts in the Omega Art work. The arm on the Omega Groudon looks a little different as it looks as if there's an extension to complete the omega symbol which should not be able to be seen if Groudon's arm was remain unchanged while in that post. His spikes get a color change from white to blackish, His tail looks like it may be missing a fin spike on the end. They look more spaced out but that's probably an oversight.

Kyogre has noticeable changes. The tail flaps are different. They have a ribbon down the center of each one. He gains a tattoo on his head which wasn't there before and that tattoo joins with lines from his already existing spots. His two major fins had alterations to the symbols. Where as they were like Nazca lines before, they are more filled I guess you can say. The artwork is similar, but they aren't 100% the same pattern and its a different kind of filling than with Groudon. Kinda looks like he has plasma turbines on his fins.

They are definitely form changes, though this doesn't particularly mean much as there are many aesthetic form changes even with Gamefreak insisting that the form changes are stronger in power.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 16th, 2014 8:41 PM

I wonder they'll theorize their megas if they aren't...
I think they may be special Megas.

Pepperton May 19th, 2014 7:48 AM

Just based off of the box art, I think they'd fit more as alternate forms. In X and Y, mega evolutions were such a huge component to the game that they may be trying to continue that feature past Kalos. Even if they planned to keep it region exclusive before hand, Megalutions were a resounding success. I won't blame them if they find a way to put new Mega evolutions into ORAS, even with timeline inconsistencies.

I'm sure they'll find a way around it. Like Kalos had some connection with the Hoenn region in the distant past or something.

22 days until E3. If they reveal anything I imagine Corocoro will have the same infomation.

Salzorrah May 19th, 2014 11:22 PM

I'm thinking they will just reveal the new Megas, Brendan and May's (hopefully) updated artworks, and obviously Hoenn in 3D, like everyone wanted.

I'd like to know if we'll be able to customize our players clothing and hair. I honestly wouldn't mind if we can only wear Brendan and May's default uniform, but I wouldn't be opposed to customizing them either. Along with Mega evolutions and a look at Hoenn, those are the main things I hope are revealed.

blue May 20th, 2014 10:15 AM

Seems like the longest wait from an announcement to see some actual gameplay footage, I'm positive that we'll get something in June alone but seriously.. CoroCoro better have something worthy. :(

Universe May 20th, 2014 10:53 AM

I have a feeling that Corocoro's reveals for June will probably involve protagonists, Professor Birch, some gym leaders, and possibly the champion.

Oh, and maybe even Team Magma and Aqua. So by that, I doubt the reveals will be too heavy, but at least we'll get to see what's changed in everyone's designs and if our protagonists are the same characters.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 20th, 2014 12:41 PM

Maybe they'll hint at Megas being in Hoenn by saying something like "Mega Evolution, something uncovered in the Kalos region. Is it truly only in Kalos?".

Would really like to see some scenes with these two teams, definitely. Even though they're remakes, it wouldn't hurt to spice up their place in the story with some new additions like maybe a insane, maniacal new leader of the Teams. If something about Team Aqua/Magma is revealed, I hope it hints at some new plot material.

Salzorrah May 21st, 2014 11:26 PM

If they decide revealing Team Magma or Aqua, I hope they reveal like a cinematic view for the games and show a storylike clip haha...

Or better yet do what B2W2 did and do an anime-like trailer haha :33

They better. Right now, everyone and their mother are anxious to know if Sceptile and Swampert join Blaziken in the prestigious ranks of having a Mega evolution. I'm one of them. When HGSS were initially announced, I was excited but never really followed any of the new information revealed, so I'm not familiar with how Nintendo goes about announcing things for remakes.

acatfrommars May 22nd, 2014 8:12 PM

I think that Corocoro will hint at the mega evolutions in the June release and that we will see a couple of screens of areas. Also, I think we may see what the protagonist will look like as well.

For E3, I think that we will see a full trailer with gameaplay.

I recall that the choosing the starters scene was one of the first things shown. It usually is. Maybe they'll treat them like they did like the announcement of the Kanto starters in XY and followed by showing their Mega Evolutions after showing that scene.

What do you mean by evolution Mechanics? We all know how the starters evolve xD. Do you mean if they'll change the Mega Evolution mechanics? Hopefully they'll make bonding more meaningful if they do.

Pepperton May 23rd, 2014 8:40 PM

It'll be a huge letdown if we don't get to see how Hoenn will look in 3D. Hopefully, they choose an interesting area like Pacifidlog to showcase in an upcoming release. Along with that they'd be able to kill two birds with one stone and confirm or quell character customization theories regarding ORAS.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 25th, 2014 5:30 PM

They usually don't show towns late in game until closer to release. If we're lucky we'll see Mauville. Chances are higher for the earlier areas.

ShadowSlashz May 27th, 2014 2:05 AM

Junichi Masuda apparently has said he is coming to e3 2014 - Most likely about the remakes

I wonder if he'll show a lot like at E3 last year. At least a lot comparable to what a remake can have.

I think that's because showing later areas would reveal too much about the games, but that only has relevance with all-new games like X and Y. We've already seen all of the Hoenn cities and know their gym leader types, and other important information that Game Freak would want to keep secret if it was a new region.

I was actually basing my statement on the fact that they didn't show later areas of Johto until like three months after they were announced. So even early remake trailers are limited in that regard.

Can't wait until new news is announced about the games- I just researched when the new corocoro issue is out and didn't realize how close it was!

Yeah, it'll come out in two weeks. However before that, and even before it leaks we'll proably get information from E 3. I was just at a fan site for Kingdom Hearts and someone posted this link to an article (I think it's in Italian or some other romance language which isn't Spanish or French. It must be a romance language as I can translate some of it using my knowledge of Spanish and French).

Here's the Source: http://www.webnews.it/2014/05/28/e3-2014-tutti-i-giochi-ps4-e-xbox-one-mostrati/

Rubino Omega and Zaffiro Alpha aka Ruby Omega and Alpha Sapphire are on the list. Anyways it has the list of games confirmed to appear at E3.

Edit: Seems it's based on assumptions...as Square hasn't announced their line up hence the list isn't totally confirmed, meaning Nintendo and the rest on their may not have confirmed their games either. Why do sites keep saying something is confirmed when it's not...

Yay Can't wait until E3!!

Hope its true!

Pokemanz May 30th, 2014 1:35 PM

Hopefully they release video/screenshots of gameplay outside of battle so we can see what hoenn and the trainers look like.

Iceshadow3317 May 30th, 2014 1:51 PM

Things that I really want to see are:

  • The Trainers, May and Brendon. Would love to see them in 3D. And also would be nice to see if we can change clothes in this. Maybe we would have to wear certain clothing to do Contests.
  • 3D Areas.
  • Proof of Megas (Starters preferred at this moment in time)
  • 3D Prof. Birch being chased by Poocheyena. :D

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire May 30th, 2014 5:48 PM

They may not confirm customizing until later on. Maybe by screenshots which will come after the main event.

Pepperton May 30th, 2014 6:04 PM

In the CoroCoro, we'll probably see new Mega evolution art if there are in fact new Megas to be introduced, and at E3 there might be discussion about player customization, Amie, PSS, and other Kalos-introduced features that may or may not return. Not too much will be revealed, but enough to quiet some theories and birth some new ones.

If we get any Megas show in June they'll probably be the starters. I don't think they'll show off any more for the time being until we get closer to release.

Pepperton June 2nd, 2014 9:27 PM

What kind of gameplay do you guys want to see showcased in the upcoming events, and why? Personally, I'd like to see the scene of Wally first finding his Ralts in 3D, possibly as more of a cutscene this time around!

I would like to see that too. Considering it's early and the game and that remakes tend to show the early part of the games in the first few months of their announcements there's a high chance that'll happen. Or at the very least we'll get screen shots.
I would also like like to see the choosing of the starters to see how they've remade it in 3D.

blue June 2nd, 2014 10:55 PM

If Junichi Masuda is making an appearance at E3, then hopefully it will be like last time where they did a 90-minute showcase stream of X & Y, but with ORAS. This is a really exciting month now!

Salzorrah June 2nd, 2014 11:36 PM

If they decide to appear in E3, they might actually clarify the rumors that ORAS has like if ORAS will be full fledged remakes (even if it was already confirmed and further clarified) or the boxart designs and such or what is new in Hoenn.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 3rd, 2014 6:54 AM

Hopefully as there's still those who doubt Hoenn will return until someone from GF says it.

Pepperton June 3rd, 2014 5:01 PM

At this point, there shouldn't be any doubt of ORAS being legitimate, haha. Things like Mega evolution, 3D graphic overhaul, and riding Pokemon are all debatable to return and haven't been confirmed, so those and many more are certainly up for discussion. June is going to be interesting, that's for sure :]

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 3rd, 2014 6:15 PM

Do you guys think they'll announce the release day at E3? Seems like a good time to tell us what day in November of this year it'll be.

Pepperton June 4th, 2014 8:03 AM

Seems plausible. I'm hoping it's not too close to December, because then I'll probably end up having to wait for Christmas. If they announce the release date, they could also introduce information on whether the games will come with an accessory like the past few remakes.

blue June 4th, 2014 9:03 AM

I'd expect anytime of the week commencing 10th November. I would prefer to have a release closer to December, to me having a release on say Friday 28th November would feel more right.

acatfrommars June 4th, 2014 9:07 AM

Same, the release will probably be sometime in November. If you think about it, that's when most of the big games of the year are released.

We know it's being released in November so that's definite.

I'm definitely wanting a concrete date at E3. We're 6 months away, and we had X&Y's release by the end of May.

I would rather have it before the holiday rush. I fear that it'll be sold out. Thus far the only Pokemon game to ever be sold out where I live when I've tried to buy it has been Pearl (and Diamond) (ended up with Platinum since I heard about it, so it was a good thing in the end) and that was during the Holiday season.

crystalzapdos June 5th, 2014 5:23 PM

I think its a safe bet to say we'll get a trailer at e3. If they weren't going to show anything there, I don't see why they wouldn't have just announces the games with a trailer, there'd be no point in waiting.

Pepperton June 5th, 2014 5:42 PM

What was released almost a month ago doesn't even deserve to be called a trailer, it was a teaser that infuriated me with a substantial lack of content. :[ Hopefully they make up for that disappointment at E3 with videos containing actual information and game play from the remakes. Sure, showing Groudon and Kyogre off in 3D graphics is cool and all, but I don't think anyone was satisfied with that.

Iceshadow3317 June 5th, 2014 5:49 PM

When is the corocoro due to come out? I know sometimes we have it a little earlier than that date. I am just really interested to see what we might be getting.

I was under the impression it would be a few days after the E3 Direct, so I expect the news would either be mostly overlap from that, or a bit of an extension (with more visuals).

Wicked3DS June 5th, 2014 6:33 PM

I think they're gonna provide a good bit of information at E3 because a lot of people will want to know about it since it's a hot topic right now. I think we'll get a trailer, maybe some gameplay footage (but not a whole lot), and a definite release date.

machupichu18 June 5th, 2014 6:56 PM

I definitely think character customisation will return in ORAS, the customisation made the basis of how characters looked like in online play in x and y, and that would probably have to stay to make x/y and ORAS to communicate with each other

It usually comes out the 15th, and I think this month is no exception this time around. So the 12th is proably the earliest. However irc the 10th has been the earliest it's ever leaked (since I started keeping track during BW speculation). So most likely E3 will tell us the majority, if not everything we will get in Corocoro this month.

What if GF throws us a curve/troll ball and show atrailer...with Rayquaza descending (it'll be cool to see that part) and that's it...but with an image of Mega/Delta Rayquaza.

Salzorrah June 5th, 2014 11:35 PM

If GF decides to troll ball us again, I might just ragequit xD I hope it wont be that case! I'm pretty sure GF would release some info on E3 or CoroCoro.

Oshakpop June 6th, 2014 1:50 AM

Yeah, CoroCoro is out on the 14th this month, so we could end up getting scans pretty much around the same time as E3, although it's only the usual possibility.

Pepperton June 6th, 2014 9:54 AM

Well, E3 fast approaches, and I've never been more excited for it. n__n Various images have surfaced around the Internet depicting leaked lists from Nintendo officials, and ORAS has been found on all of them. I think it's safe to say they'll do something similar to what they did with X and Y, which will be more than enough for me!

SnowpointQuincy June 6th, 2014 10:05 AM

The release day for games is Sunday Right? But XY was a Saturday the 12. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. 5 Saturdays to choose from. Worldwide release again?

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 6th, 2014 10:55 AM

Get Tv says it's going to have a large scoop. I'm assuming we're going to get whatever they're revealing at this Year's E3 and this month's corocoro. I can't wait for Tuesday. Wonder what the scoop could be...MegaRayquaza?

Depends where you live, the UK get games on Fridays whereas the US get their games on Tuesdays.

blue June 6th, 2014 2:41 PM

Yeah, Japan seem to get games on Saturdays, US on Tuesdays and UK on Fridays. I'm wondering if this is a global release, just like they did with Pokémon X & Y. If they did do a simultaneous worldwide release, I'd hope for a Friday or Saturday!

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 6th, 2014 4:16 PM

I recall a lot of Pokémon games having come out on Sunday here in the states.
BTW anyone remember what day Oct 10, 2013 (XY) was? They could choose the day. Perhaps GF will decide to make it a tradition that all game from now on release on the blank day of the week. It make it almost like a holiday but with changing months.

On topic: I think they may show off the Mega starters at E3/Corocoro/Get tv, as that's a big scoop.

Iceshadow3317 June 6th, 2014 4:19 PM

I think it was confirmed in a trailer that it would be a worldwide release in one of the official Nintendo or Pokemon sites. But we still have the time zone difference, so US will get the games last.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire June 6th, 2014 4:57 PM

Yeah, it was the first trailer that confirmed WWR November 2014. Sadly that's true...so I'll be spending the day before release minding my own business. Hope it'll come out on saturday or Sunday. Saturday maybe better as I'll have school on Friday so that'll keep me busy. After that I'll have the weekend to play!

Anyways back to Corocoro and E3. Does anyone think they'll throw a curveball at us? They did say that these games will "evolve battling".

Altairis June 6th, 2014 6:53 PM

At best, we get it released on a Friday, so I can get it after school and spend my whole weekend playing it, haha :) Also, October 10th 2013 was a Thursday.

Salzorrah June 6th, 2014 11:41 PM

I dont really care when it gets released tbh since I dont get the games till a kinda long time after they do get released ahaha xD But I guess I wish they get released pretty early or just in time for Thanksgiving for the Americans.
