Speaking of moves, this is an older one and I'm not sure if it's fixed yet: When Circle Throw or Dragon Tail is used on a Wild Pokemon and it faints them, the battle ends as if you used Whirlwind or Roar and you get no experience.

I completely forgot about that one until now, sorry!

Lance32497 November 5th, 2014 8:10 AM

I dont know what to do!
Ah--Uhhh! Im Waiting for the 3 new added abilities >_<

Lance32497 November 6th, 2014 8:43 AM

uhhhm.... I dont know if someone encountered it in a patch

but when I trade Kadabra holding TWISTED SPOON, when in the portion where Kadabra is supposed to evolve, the game freezes.

also in Haunter...
It is from v.1.5

Hrm, I'm not sure what could have broken that.

I'll have a look into it.

Thank you, thank you soooooo much, i've been longly searching how to apply the map and the patch, and I had no success. I wonder if you can use this to save inserted pokemon.

Hi,

I don't know if these have already been mentioned, I found some glitches while playing;

Flash doesn’t show up in the Pokémon Menu. Instead it is just a blank space where the word is supposed to be. Still works though.

Route 5 Day-Care Man freezes the game when you attempt to get back your Pokémon from him.
Also when you select No when he asks whether or not for him to look after one of your Pokémon, a blank text box shows (you can escape it by pressing a button)

I also have a list of scripts that are still capitalised. Just let me know if you want me to find the offsets and post them.

Chronosplit November 8th, 2014 7:28 PM

As for the moves not appearing, this also happens with a couple of other field moves I think. I have no clue what causes it either, it's been there since I first had it.

Also I've been combing through movesets lately and there's a couple of Pokemon still not up to Gen VI in movesets: Charizard needs an extra relearner space for Heat Wave, Pidgey/Pidgeotto/Pidgeot still doesn't know Tailwind (Tailwind-Mirror Move-Air Slash-Hurricane, Brave Bird isn't present outside of eggs), Ekans/Arbok doesn't have Gastro Acid, and a few Pokemon still don't know Assurance. It's not high priority, but worth mentioning.

I know the reason for that, there is a pointer table to those moves, and because I removed the original move name table there's nothing there. I'll repoint that.

A few move sets aren't identical no.
I might in all honesty change this up quite a lot and expand to 1023 available moves. As I have done that in Emerald.

Raiimeister November 10th, 2014 12:18 AM

Found A Minor Again. When I Used Dragon Tail As A Finishing Move On A Trainer Battle, The Pokemons Sprite Doesn't Go Downwards.

Chronosplit November 10th, 2014 8:20 AM

I actually like a few of the differences (like Geodude having Rock Throw and Rollout still in the pre-Gen VI placement. The switching of both that and bubble/water gun was rather odd looking to me, so I was planning to switch them around anyway) so that's fine and dandy.

Lance32497 November 12th, 2014 7:13 PM

As for today,
these are the bugs I found in your rombase
~ After I taught HM FLASH to my Pokemon, when I tried to use FLASH in overword, The word FLASH doesnt appear(But Flash works perfectly...minor bug)
~ The DayCare Lady and Daycare man-
After I handed over my 2 pokemon to them...
The Day care man generates a "." script
then the when I try to talk to the Daycare lady, the game freezes. Same as the Day Care man in Route 5
~ When I trade a pokemon that can evolve by that way, the game also crashes at Evolving portion
and Lastly, Most of the time, the game restarts

@Lance32497: Are you working with 1.1? That might be the case. This base is supposed to go with 1.0, after all. If this is 1.0, then I'm afraid I don't have an exact answer. Just try again and remember to repoint things properly.

Ooops, I didnt change anything in his rombase, I test it first to see if there're no bugs, anyways, I used 1.5

He means FireRed's version, not the patch.

^ There are two different versions of FireRed: 1.0 and 1.1

Pretty sure when you open up a rom in Advance Map or a similar program you can see what version it is. Almost every tool and rom base on PC was made for FireRed 1.0 so if you have version 1.1 most of the tools and patches won't work correctly, if at all.

Hope that helps clear things up.

Oh, and for future reference does anyone know a quick and hassle free way to check which version you have? I almost always have 1.0 so I've never needed to check, but I realize it could be a problem for newer members of the community. Besides, it's always nice to have some new advice to give, right? :)

I patched it in FIRERED 1.0

Hellspawn00x November 16th, 2014 8:54 AM

Toxic spikes crashes the game.

Hello,
I am using your BaseRom, but there is a big problem : Advance Map does not work with the version 1.5.
How can I fixe that, there is a ini file or something?
Thx for helping.

Anvils Alive November 16th, 2014 2:43 PM

@hremeraude: You might not want to bother. Just might. If you really want to, go with the build GoGoJJTech posted somewhere in Quick Research. If that doesn't work (Especially in my case), then use MEH. It's much better than AM, and AM1.95 hates on your ROM anyway.

For the 100th time, on the first post it says to make it work with tools you need to change the Rom Name at 0xAC in a Hex Editor from MrDS to BPRE.

hremeraude November 17th, 2014 4:55 AM

Haw, sorry, thx for helping

1.0 doesn't have any "presents" text on the Game Freak logo. It was a harmless bug fixed in 1.1.

A little later in playing it, but Pidgey's pokedex species is "Tiny" due to another bug. This hack fixes that, most do really.

EDIT: After a quick test of how things have progressed on my project, here are the capitalizations I noticed from the very beginning until the Pokedex event.

1. Daisy seems to be in capitals at various places: still refers to the Lab as LAB and whenever a name is used as "who said what" it seems to always be in capitals. I have a feeling that this is for every instance, so checking the Double Battle lines should probably be a priority. Also, Town Map obtaining is completely capitalized.

Text string offsets:
0x18D58C
0x18D701
0x18D661
0x18D5C4
0x18D9A5

2. The Oak's Parcel script still refers to the parcel with a capital S, even if the item is lowercase. It's the same way upon getting the Pokedex.

Offset for Oak's strings:
0x18E4AF

...No clue about the Parcel event at the PokeMart though.

Everything else was lowercase and read well.
