discharge only attack one pokemon on the field =(

Criminon May 5th, 2015 4:57 PM

Hey DS, what is the image offset for types? I noticed it obviously changed to add fairy type. Would super appreciate it if you gave it to me, haha.

Ayonn- May 6th, 2015 1:15 AM

Hi, is it normal that when I try to patch your file, the rom Id doesn't change at all, and when I try to edit my rom with G3HS, I can open it but there is a problem with the number of attacks ??
Answer me quicly if possible ???

If someone have a link to the 1.5 version, I would happy too.

It will handle most of the same stuff only it actually works. Make sure your rom name matches the ini, or change them both back to BPRE and delete the current BPRE in the rom data. (you need to put the ini in the rom data)

This will allow you to edit the custom moves etc.

FYI there's a further fixed G3T INI for that sound issue a page or two back from this one.

Would you mind linking me? I've weeded through what I thought were most of these pages.

if u put Trick Room will be another thing... an another game experience

I'm just curious. With all that have been edited and added, can I still delete the Fairy type completely and everything that would come with it (attacks, effectiveness, items with it in the description, or people that talk about it spread throughout the game...)?

You don't have to delete anything. Just change all pokemon so that none learns any fairy moves and replace their types. Also, all scrips are left untouched so you don't have to worry about some random guy talking about how fairies slay dragon or sth like that.

Just changing, for example, Clefairy, then no Clefairy, wild or from a trainer, will be Fairy-type?
Also, the Fairy-type moves that were from another types in previous Generations, they can be changed to their previous types with no problems?

These two goes to MrDollSteak or whoever can help. Does this ROM base have more than just the 386 Pokémon from the first three generations?
Also, I'd like having, for example, the physical attacks not affecting Ghost-type Pokémon no matter the type, and Electrical special attacks not affecting Ground Pokémon and Electrical physical still affecting Ground Pokémon, but with resistance. Is that possible? Or will I need to make a program like the Type Effectiveness Editor for that (like this one http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=313978&highlight=effectiveness)?

rhapsodian_pixo May 19th, 2015 10:25 AM

is there a Type Editor to add or replace any type of this rom base?? with his .ini =)

Yes, the Type Effectiveness Editor:

Hey, a few issues with Gooey that may or may not have been brought up before.

- Instead of saying that your Pokemon had its speed lowered, it says your opponent's speed was lowered. Your speed is actually lowered but the message says that your opponent's speed fell. I think this one's been brought up before but I'm not sure.

-Bullet Seed activated it. I have no idea what this means (I checked and Bullet Seed does not make contact)- I'm not sure if it's just physical attacks, or all attacks, or whatever, but it should be fixed.

Also, I could've sworn there was a fix for this somewhere but I can't find it- Hydration says it cured your status every turn in rain, even when you have no status.

Finally, minor nitpick, but out-of-dex stone evolutions do not currently work without the National Pokedex- going to 0x126C4D and turning the D9 byte to an E0 byte fixes that. (DoesntKnowHowToPlay figured that out.)

Interesting! I'll look into Gooey and Hydration. It'll be a simple matter of the battle scripts / checks.

The out-of-dex stone evolutions not working, isn't actually of any concern to me, it's not a bug at all.
You may notice that I have left Fire Red's scripts and game mostly unchanged, and haven't expanded the national dex at all. What people do regarding the dex doesn't bother me too much.

FamiliaWerneck May 20th, 2015 8:22 AM

I downloaded the patch and patched it to a clean Fire Red game.
When I tried opening it with G3HS to check Clefairy's Fairy type, the program warned me stuff was messed up.
Went to Bulbasaur and got a message saying the program was trying to load move #475 and there was currently 370-something moves. Nothing but stats were showing. Not even types were showing up.
Same thing happened when I went to Charizard.
Then I just quit and came here to ask: What is wrong? Did I patch my ROM wrong?

Exodrake May 22nd, 2015 10:54 PM

The blue Flash text when selecting it to use on the field is missing in a cleanly patched ROM. If this is fixed I need the offset to repoint since this went unnoticed long enough for my game to have something else put in that void since it was essentially free space :X Because of this my game shows garbage text where it should say Flash but the text was erased by the rombase.

As G3HS says, there are "currently 370-something moves." This patch moved and expanded them, among other things. Did you change your ini to the one provided?

That's probably what's wrong. How do I change the ini?

Somewhere in your G3HS folder, there should be a file called pokeroms.ini. You replace it with the G3HS ini provided by MrDollSteak (should have been in the download along with the ips). I believe that in that ini, you also need to replace [MrDs] for the rom with [0000], though it has been a while.

Exodrake May 23rd, 2015 7:44 PM

Regarding the G3HS INI, can anyone fix the "Expand POKEMON" feature? That's the one thing which refuses to work for me after doing the [0000] fix.

I'll try that man. Thanks a lot for the tips!

I tried putting the ini file in G3HS's folder, but no luck.
What did you mean by "replace [MrDS] for the rom with [0000], though it has been a while."?

I hope it's ok if I help him out for you Azurile, but basically Familia what you want to do is replace the ini in G3HS with the one from MrDollSteak and then open up the ini from DS and you should be in your Notepad with a bunch of words and numbers. From there, scroll down to a header that looks like [MrDS]. Replace MrDS with 0000 so it should look like [0000].

It super worked! Thanks Fun Size and Azurile. It freaking worked!

EDIT: Where do I put the ini file in G3T?
There's no ini folder, nor a file with the same name (as it's written MrDS). I tried putting it in the Roms Data folder, but no luck. Then I changed its name to 0000, as that's what I inserted in the other ini file...
What do I do?
I actually saw what MrDS said, that it won't work on any hacking tool, unless it's G3HS. But why the ini file for G3T and PGE then?

It will work, I know because my hack works fine with other tools. Go to Roms Data and place your ini there.
