Super Secret Training

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...can each Pokémon only get a single Grand Prize in Super Secret Training per day? I'm trying to figure out the mechanics of it, but it looks like that might be the case.

Basically, both my Venusaur and Sylveon (on Sylveon's first try!) got the Dusk Stone. But Sylveon, with better points scored, moved on to try for a Dawn Stone...and I'm getting great times...but nothing doing! What gives?

You can get the Grand Prize as much times as you want. I get the grand prize multiple times in multiple training with just my Delphox in one day. However, it is completely random. Even if you make a new best time, you are not guaranteed the grand prize. I farm those things multiple times a day with just my Delphox and I get the stones, but it takes awhile sometimes.

No kidding...I've done the Aegislash so many times I'm sick of it, but the fact I haven't even found a Dawn Stone yet (Gallade) is infuriating. Wonder if it's once an hour or something.

EDIT: I might be onto something! After submitting this post, I went back and took on Gallade and got a Dawn Stone!

Well, sometimes I get the stones within minutes of each other, I never had to wait a whole hour. When you beat the average time it qualifies you for a chance to win the stone. It is not guaranteed. If you don't beat the average time, you will get the complimentary prizes, without a doubt.

Anyway, congrats on getting the stones.

Even once an hour, or half hour, you can win at 10:58 and 11:02 and get stones both times. I'd be curious at what rate some of us get stones. Anyone want to try getting some data? I'll be watching E3 tomorrow and could be busy helping with something around the house, so might not have a chance until later.

I just played the Gallade and the Roserade balloons and got the Shiny and Dawn Stone within five minutes of each other with my Delphox, within the same half hour. I mean, I get very high scores, so that probably affects it. My scores range from around 2:10 to 2:25.
I won't be available to help you collect data, sorry. It works good for me anyway, so I would rather leave it at that...XD

Yeah, I use my Sylveon and never drop below 2:10. Yet they are incredibly rare. Strange.

I'm gonna ask since this is relevant to the thread, but what are the more ideal Pokemon for clearing these Secret Super Training courses? Properly EV trained Pokemon or ones that would gather different EVs through a regular game walkthrough?

properly EV trained pokemon most likely because if you do a lot of Super Training you notice that when you EV train it's Attacks, the pokemon inflicts more damage, when you EV train it's defenses it takes less damage from the enemy balloons, when you EV train it's Speed the pokemon moves faster and can attack faster, and if you EV train it's HP the balls it throws gets bigger so depending on how you want to attack you should EV train for that. It also depends on the pokemon as well, I have many pokemon that (when EV training) is maxed out inflict 400 - 600 Hp of damage on the pokemon with a charged shot, but the most powerful one I have found so far has been the monkies (pansear, pansage and pan pour) as when I EV train them for Att and Speed they seem to be able to inflict up to 900 hp of damage on a charged shot. So definitely EV train and max out two stats depending on how you want to attack.

My Sylveon has 170 base attack (some get a 25, not sure why). Its Attack is charted as way higher than anything else on the EV graph. I rarely finish with less than 2 minutes.

I'd EV train a newcomer in the first level and build up the stats there. Since it's possible to fully EV-train a Pokémon just via Super Training, this is great for trading purposes as well if someone wants an evenly balanced one, for example.
