Startpokemon problem

I don't know which starter i will chose in Firered
Can you held me?

C.O.H March 12th, 2005 1:52 AM

This is the facts:
Charmander: The first and second gym may be hard, but the rest is kinda easy. the Elite Four can be a porblem though
Bulbasaur: The first gyms are piece of cake, bu the last can be tough, the elite four shouldn't be a problem
Squirtle: He's good in the gyms and pwns the Elite Four, I would pic him if I were you XP

Bulba March 12th, 2005 2:30 AM

@C.O.H

thx But I don't know bulbasaur or Squirtle

C.O.H March 12th, 2005 2:56 AM

I do not recomend Bulba, He's not good in EF

G-Klav March 12th, 2005 4:18 AM

I agree with C.O.H's first post, but I never had a problem in the EF with my Venusaur, he can pwn Lorelei if you are careful enough.

THX^^
I chose Bulbasaur in Firered because it is a great Pokemon and i chose it on my Leafgreen :D

THIRTY-SIX March 12th, 2005 6:43 AM

u shouldve chosen squritle because well later on in ther game venusaur will become useless and well i chose charmander but thats cuz hes my fav but squritle is the best because a water pokemon can beat grass and fire as long as it has an ice move

Magma_Leader_Shadow March 12th, 2005 6:45 AM

It depends on what Legendary beast you want:

Squirtle=Raikou
Bulbasaur=Entei
Charmander=Suicune

The Fallen March 12th, 2005 8:40 AM

Here are some more facts though.
Bulbasaur=able to find Entei only.
Charmander=able to catch Suicune only.
Squirtle=Raikou only.
So if you chose Charmander you're gonna end up loking for Suicune.

ryanguhr March 12th, 2005 9:35 PM

I got Squirtle, and ALL the gyms were easy...and he pretty much destroyed the E4 by himself...I did not use one Full Restore, anything...just one Elixir...the only other Pokemon I used was Articuno for the Dragon Master, and Moltres for Gary's Venusaur...get Squirtle for sure.

Ozone Layer March 13th, 2005 10:03 AM

I will chose charmader for my FR

Arcanine Fan 101 March 13th, 2005 11:36 AM

i choose bulbasaur because later on its useful

mew_master March 13th, 2005 11:59 AM

pick squirtle, usually water types don't have a lot of weaknesses and can last the entire game. you'll want to give up once you see brock's onix if you pick charmander, and with bulbasaur it's great early on but after that the types that are strong against grass/poison start to appear more often and it gets hard.

Dark Absol v2.0 March 13th, 2005 1:30 PM

Pick Squirtle pick Squirtle pick Squirtle...there you go. ^-^

ryan March 13th, 2005 1:41 PM

didn't he already say he picked bulbasaur? anyway, the first pokemon you get doesn't matter that much. it'll only be one of the six on your team right? i personally don't use my starters in my teams anymore. but different strokes for different folks (as the saying goes). though personally, i would go with squirtle. i did in my first blue version and blastoise never once let me down (over 130 hours, always in my party, and he didn't faint once)

Happy Dude March 14th, 2005 12:26 PM

According to GameFAQS this is the way it goes.

Bulbasaur-An easy game
Squirtle-A normal game
Charmander-A hard game.

Don't blame me for this.Thats what GameFAQS said.

Charizard_Fire_God March 14th, 2005 12:43 PM

OK, I had all 3 and here's what i've noticed:
-Bulbasaur(can't remember STATS...)
Easy begining, gets harder in the long run(had problems with PP running out and Viridian Forest took forever).
-Charmander(good Spd. & Sp.Atk.)
Difficult begining, gets easy after 2nd badge(but Misty is real hard to beat).
-Squirtle(good Def. & Sp.Def.)
Nice, balanced game(cave Pokémon and Hikers overcome effortlessly).

tevinchew March 17th, 2005 9:16 PM

choose bulbasaur or squirtle.bulbusaur is easy in elite four but hard in blaine's gym.if u choose squirtle the best is to catch some fire pokemon for elite 4

Eon-Rider March 19th, 2005 12:19 AM

I would pick Squirtle because you can get Raikou later in the game, which is the best dog in my opinion.

MewthreeXL March 19th, 2005 2:11 AM

I usually chose the starter for whatever version I'm playing,so in Leafgreen I chose
Bulbasaur.But Charmander is the best in my opinion.

NiNGi's Worst Nightmare March 19th, 2005 9:46 AM

I prefer Bulbasaur because you can cruise through the game easily with it. Squirtle's good early on, too, and a Dugtrio can eliminate the Electric/Poison problems of the third and fourth gyms. I have never started with Charmander, though...

~Amethyst_Callista_Moon~ March 19th, 2005 6:49 PM

Squirtle is the easiest. It's better.

DARK MIGHTY LATIAS March 19th, 2005 7:09 PM

Squrtle:Fire Red
Charmander:Leaf Green
Bulbasaur:none

So the results r:
Squirtle:expert
Charmander:Intermidate(wrong spelling mabye)
Bulbasaur:Beginner

Charmander is not expert anymore cause more people prefer Fire Red, but this can not be true in some ways...

Draik March 20th, 2005 9:09 AM

In my opinion, I would choose Squirtle. But I can't leave that cute Charmander alone! I'm way to emotional.

The Fallen March 20th, 2005 10:47 AM

I think he has gotten enough opinions now and has decided.So im gonna close this cause people are just saying pokemon for posts now, sorry ^^.Post a thread like this if you are having the problem.
