It does: "Its Ability is named Delta Stream - "Powerful moves like Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail in the face of strong winds whipped up by Mega Rayquaza, while Abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will not even activate. In addition, moves of a type to which Flying-type Pokemon are usually susceptible will only deal normal damage." (source: Pokebeach).

Let's see Primal Groudon ability turns it's 4x weakness to water into a immunity, Mega Rayquaza's turns it's 4x weakness to ice into a 2x weakness (or maybe 1x if it doesn't care about secondary typings...), while Primal Kyogre's ability weakens it's 1/2x resistance and turns it into an immunity...sounds like Kyogre got the short end of the stick here.''

Uh, I heard Dragon Ascent is actually a FLYING type move, not actually a dragon type move despite it's name...but it's what I wanted, a strong flying type move for it :3

The ability's effect nerfs Ice, Electric and Rock moves so if we have something that's normally 2x weak to those types, it'll become just neutral damage when Mega Rayquaza is active. I think that if the Pokemon in question has a 4x weakness to either of the three it'll get nerfed to a 2x weakness.

And just to point out your error, Groudon's Water immunity becomes a 4x weakness.

I know, just pointing out their major weaknesses. But yeah, Rayquaza's ability will give it a 1x weakness to Rock now (now Electric may be 1/2x).

Uh...Primal Groudon without it's ability will be 4x weak, but it's ability evaporates water moves, hence it give it an immunity to water, not the other way around...

but it's not because it's Flying-type, and supposedly stronger than even Sky Attack.

Is there going to be anymore News ???

Emboar October 2nd, 2014 8:18 AM

Mega Rayqauza looks amazing, and the ability is going to be so useful competitively against weather-based teams. Btw, this is my new favorite mega.

No I think that is it for the live stream unless Serebii has gotten behind some.

But we have Corocoro in a week or two.

Interesting story.

Spoiler:
Legends have been passed down in the Hoenn region for generations about Groudon and Kyogre. In the continued tale of those legends, who should appear but mighty Rayquaza? Rayquaza is the third Legendary Pokémon of the Hoenn region, standing equal to Groudon and Kyogre. Rayquaza can be encountered in both Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

It was a primal age, early in the world's history... The natural world was overflowing with energy. That energy granted Groudon and Kyogre an overwhelming power. Seeking ever more of that energy for themselves, the two clashed again and again, and their battles cast the people and Pokémon of Hoenn into great danger. Brimming with the overwhelming power granted by the energy of nature, this transformation was named by later people "Primal Reversion." And the people called their tormentors Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre.

One Pokémon looked down upon this battle from the sky above. The Pokémon that dances in the heavens: Rayquaza. Rayquaza is venerated by the people of Hoenn as their protector and savior. When Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre had battled for 20 dawns and 20 nights, the world began to lose its natural balance and tilt toward destruction. The people, unable to endure any more, cried out to their mighty savior Rayquaza before a great stone that shone with rainbow brilliance. And a change came upon Rayquaza, weaving in the sky above Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Suffused in brilliant light, its body began to transform visibly. And then...

The epic battle between Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre threatens to disrupt the balance of the entire world. The truth behind the Hoenn region's legends and the mysteries of Mega Evolution will be revealed in November. Observe the truth for yourself!

Perhaps we will see some elements of the Emerald storyline after all.

I rather prefer Rayquaza change because of its bond with a sudden human that turn into a power itself due to Primal reversion

MEGA RAYQUAZA HYPE. <3 Favorite Legend gets a Mega

Kenchiin October 2nd, 2014 12:06 PM

I NEED THAT MEGA RAYQUAZA NOW

Pinkie-Dawn October 2nd, 2014 1:10 PM

I wasn't expecting Mega Rayquaza to be announced so soon. Could it be the mysterious Mega Evolution for the demo version?

I was hoping it would've been revealed last month for the 10th anniversary month of Emerald (but Rayquaza was shown in the issue that came out last month though), or saved for us to discover.

That may be. Perhaps the Monolith/stone (there's one in the anime) will be the stone at Mossdeep.

Perhaps. Although the fact that it's been officially announced two weeks before the actual release of the demo could suggest otherwise, we could still get the reveal of an unannounced Mega Evolution in the demo.

HollyYoshi October 3rd, 2014 3:34 PM

So, my favorite legendary got a Mega Evolution. And it looks awesome as heck. Also, Dragon Descent is really dang cool.

Dragon Ascent* my friend, and I agree, the animation is quite stellar. I'm hoping that there's some sort of logical description for Rayquaza receiving a Mega Evolution but not a Primal Reversion.

This post by Tumblr user castaform pretty much sums it up. Be warned, it's a long post though but it's one worth reading.

As I said in the Mega thread, if you look at their story one can see why that is. Rayquaza unlike the other two didn't seek to expand anything, it didn't greedily fight for the natural power. Also (while not exactly the perfect pacifist) it is more peaceful than the other two.

Btw have the rest of you guys noticed that Rayquaza has a seven branch sword like black marking? I wonder if that is just for decoration or if it's Mega Evolution process will have a connection to the sword. Interestingly it was given to the Yamato by a Korean Kingdom, and it just so happens that Kyushu (what Hoenn is based off) is right next to the Korean Peninsula (maybe we'll see the islands north of Kyushu (the ones between Korea and Japan), which would mean west of what we know Hoenn to be).

Edit @ 10:00: The Eon Ticket is said to return through a special distribution
WHO-HOO!
...can someone remind me what this does again?

...and I sure as freaking hope that this "special distribution" will be a mystery gift one... -,-
not some god-damn serial code distribution... T_T

Altius October 10th, 2014 1:05 AM

I'm surprised no one is talking about this yet:

And this is very interesting...
okay it's wrong. It will be the same as the originals.

Edit @ 10:04: The Legendary Pokémon are found on islands that can only be found through areas on the sky. You access the sky through the Eon Flute item
So... This "Eon Flute" will be related to the [email protected] and there's gonna be a new feature where we ride on Mega [email protected] and will find these "sky islands" to fight and capture legends? Sweet~

Quote:

Edit @ 10:14 : You can also encounter various other Pokémon in the wild within the clouds over Hoenn.
LOL reminds me of the first Mystery Dungeon game. ^^

I think it's nice we can ride on the Latis and catch some cool Legendaries out of it. Getting both the Diamond/Pearl and Black/White mascots is only just the beginning of some other awesome Legendaries we can catch with this method. And we all thought riding Pokemon wouldn't return...
