Quick question? Do the teams have to based off of the NPC we were assigned.

Okay good. At least N has a legendary(if they are allowed).

Sheep July 10th, 2014 12:41 PM

Dave said no ubers so we can't use Reshiram or Zekrom for N's team!

Sheep July 10th, 2014 12:48 PM

More clarifications because I love to bother Dave:

No Reshiram/Zekrom/ubers,
we can use any Pokemon from N's team (he has many six Pokemon teams) so long as they're not the above,
we're not limited to their game team's movesets so we can use any moves we want on the Pokemon.

acatfrommars July 10th, 2014 12:52 PM

Nevermind, I change my mind. I didn't know he meant eliminated from the game. I'm not that good of a battler:c

Arc July 10th, 2014 1:14 PM

I'd be willing to battle for Patrat, since I don't mind getting eliminated. But just wondering can we mix and match Pokemon from the teams, or do we have to use one of the pre-set teams. Because if it's the latter, we're at a heavy disadvantage with Norman having access to Slaking and Staraptor.

An invincibility token would be great to have right now.

antemortem July 10th, 2014 1:18 PM

Arc- you can use whatever's available to you.

Abby July 10th, 2014 1:20 PM

Hi, whenever i do showdown it lags like soo much.
So i am out on battling, BUT i can strategise with the team.

DJTiki July 10th, 2014 1:26 PM

Well guys, wish me luck. This may be the last time you'll see me here.

Question: Can I use moves & held items that Marshall's Pokemon don't use (as long as it's a legal moveset)?

Yes

Abby July 10th, 2014 1:36 PM

Just a couple of questions regarding teans, say like n has a joltic, can we usea galvantula, and cheren i black and white had the starters, can we use them?

champagnepapi July 10th, 2014 1:37 PM

Actually guys, we're at a disadvantage again for this tourney. All of the unova e4 have full teams from rematches, but the hoenn e4 doesnt, and also has many repeat pokes. Antemortem said you can pick any poke from your character's type if they dont have enough for a full team. Basically they get to handpick 1-3 slots to patch up their team or add high caliber pokes, whereas we dont have this luxury. This is going to be pretty hard to overcome but hopefully we can win it.

Abby July 10th, 2014 1:42 PM

So assuming yes to my points earlier, some notable pokemon for n and cheren.
N: mamiswine
Scizor
Archeops
Galvantula
Scrafty
Conkeldurr
Darmanitan.

Cheren:Haxorus
Cincinno
Zangoose
Stoutland
Unphesant
Unova starters
Gigalith.

Abby July 10th, 2014 1:45 PM

It never said we couldnt use his black and white teams.

Pepperton July 10th, 2014 1:52 PM

I can fight for Gothitelle, if that's alright with the other two. d:

Jake♫ July 10th, 2014 2:37 PM

I can battle for the other Patrat. Thankfully we have an advantage here, that a lot of us battle competitively.

Yep pretty much. Mainly because of the rule that no battles counted if they didnt say whose role they were playing as. So Technicalities. Again. It kinda gave him the unfauir advantage of seeing my team. But oh well. Have fun guys :)

champagnepapi July 11th, 2014 1:29 PM

Yeah, it definitely leaves a bitter taste. It looks like we still have a chance to win though, so I guess I have a last message for whoever's left, which is to think about your moves, this isn't directed at or because of anyone, nor do I expect anyone to become PC's strongest battler overnight, but a little thought will greatly increase your chances of winning. This actually isn't too hard, just ask yourself if it's worth it whenever you make it a risky play.

For example, if you have excadrill + a bunch of water types against togekiss and an electric squad, don't EQ the Togekiss predicting an electric type switchin to your iron head. Togekiss could carry aura sphere or flamethrower, and you'd be risking your most valuable pokemon, one that can come in and kill a ton of electric types at a different point in the match. Also, try and identify from team preview which of your pokes are most threatening to him, and try to abuse them against your opponent while not risking them or switching them into a bad situation.

This is pretty forgotten but basically just don't forgo common logic for prediction or cool plays. Again, this isn't a criticism of anyone, just some advice that hopefully can be useful and push the team over the hump.

Haha oops this is a bit of a tldr but I think you guys could find the basic info here useful, we're fighting for ourselves too so it'd be good to give it our very best ;)

Well either way, it sucks to be eliminated.

champagnepapi July 11th, 2014 1:33 PM

Yea bud, I feel you didn't catch a fair break with how things went, at the very least your match vs Christos should be settled as a bo3.
