Event Items/Pokemon from original R/S/E returning?

In the days of Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, there were event key items that helped you gain access to a new area and capture event Pokemon.

One of the event items was the Eon Ticket. To obtain the Eon Ticket in Ruby and Sapphire, the player had to either connect their game to an e-Reader and scan the physical Eon Ticket and then talk to Norman who gives the ticket, or mix records with a player who has done the former. The second option was the only available method to obtain the Eon Ticket in Emerald. It would grant you access to Southern Island. If you had Ruby, you were able to catch Latias. If you had Sapphire, you were able to catch Latios. If you had Emerald, you were able to catch the Eon Pokemon that you didn't choose when your mom asks you about it after you beat the game. In all of the games, the Eon Pokemon you catch will hold a Soul Dew.

The rest of the event items were only accessible in Emerald, one of them being the Old Sea Map. By obtaining this key item, you would gain access to Faraway Island, where you had to chance to catch a Mew! Unfortunately, the Old Sea Map was only released officially in Japan and was distributed in 2005 during the Pokémon Festa event.

Another event item was the MysticTicket, which was accessed after downloading it through Mystery Gift (only available during Pokemon Rocks America tour). It would give you access to Navel Rock, in which you can travel all the way to the lowest floor to catch Lugia, or all the way to the highest floor to catch Ho-Oh.

The last event item to talk about is the Aurora Ticket. It was also accessed by downloading it from Mystery Gift. Like the MysticTicket, it was only available at the Pokemon Rocks America tour. It would give you access to Birth Island, where you had to solve a strange puzzle in order to make Deoxys appear. Deoxys could only appeared in its Speed Forme. If you were to go to Birth Island in Fire Red, Deoxys would be in its Attack Forme and in Leaf Green, Deoxys would be in its Defense Forme.

Now with that brief history lesson out of the way, do you think these events and places will return in OR/AS? If they do, do you think they will add new items to these places (like maybe instead of Soul Dew with Latias/Latios, their respective Mega Stones could appear)? Or maybe they will make these Pokemon downloadable through Wi-Fi only (with Latias being for OR only and Latios being for AS only [and MAYBE with their mega stones])? What are your thoughts and opinions?

I keep forgetting that the original RS games are 12 years old. Wow.

Anyway, one thing I'm hoping for is that if GF actually inserts event items into ORAS, don't do something that'll never get an event like the Azure Flute and the Lock Capsule. .3.

Or not have the events for certain locations like Altering cave given out...or the GS Ball for players outside of Japan...
Yeah, let's hope GF doesn't fail with events items and the like again. I'm hoping the Johto Bird Duo will return but this time with the ticket being a normal Key item, instead of an item we can only get by Wi-fi. I hope the other events will return too :3

While I love R/S/E, the remakes don't need any more legends. As long as they include all the ones introduced in the 3rd gen such as Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Latios, Latias, Deoxys, and Jirachi. Ruby and Sapphire introduced some pretty amazing Pokemon and I hope they just highlight the Hoenn ones (I wouldn't mind Mew making a return tho). One of the many things that was bad about Kalos was that GF kind of just copied Kanto, changed some stuff around, and then put it in 3D. Including its most famous Pokemon and legendaries. I hope it was because they plan on staying away from Kanto for a long time and wanted to give one last taste of Kanto for a decade or so. But anyway hopefully all the events like the trick room, and the cool sand tower come back.

The sand tower wasn't an event as in a legendary event, which is what this thread is about.

I don't think having legends from other regions will take away from the Hoenn legends, but that's another thread.

Anyways, I hope that the Deoxys event at least returns.

MarinoKadame August 3rd, 2014 6:34 PM

Let's just hope the events are not Japan only. They got many Japan only event right now for XY while we got like 5 events 3 being wifi the other are locals and required to buy the game at walmart and the other required to be at a tournament.

They now have the Shiny Jirachi event and in a week will get the Surfing Pikachu with Hold Hands. And they already have Darkrai and Diancie event prior to them.

If it were up to me, what I would do is add new event items, Pokémon, and locations, because more content there are, the better. As for older ones, I'm not sure what they could do with them. Perhaps they could turn those things into something obtainable or achievable in-game? They might be able to make it so that they're available after you defeat Pokémon League.

I'm a huge fan of post-game; main plot would keep me going until Elite Four, I suppose, but what makes me want to cling is that. If post-game is interesting enough, then I'll keep playing. If not, then I'll more or less stop, or restart the game all together.

I can see them making the Sun-Moon Duo into a normal, non wi-fi event. I can also somewhat see them doing the same with the Latis, with perhaps the second appearing in Southern Island (and it being accessible) after capturing the one that was exclusive in the original RS.
I do think they'll have the Mew, and Deoxys event like how they were in Emerald. Maybe with a in game Arceus wi-fi event if a location with the creation trio (and possibly the Lake trio too) is created.

Centipede Chan August 4th, 2014 12:15 AM

I really hope some new events become modernized. Like the whole Lugia and Ho-Oh islands and the Deoxys island. Aside from events though I would love to see Dialga or Palkia be a pokemon you could capture after doing some post game stuff

Pepperton August 4th, 2014 7:24 AM

Would be interesting to see them bring events back, but I'd like it more if they introduced new ones. They're already planning on a Diancie event in the other games, and can build off that, maybe with Volcanion and Hoopa in ORAS?

I think they will do Hoopa, and save Volcanion for Z/ X2Y2. Or maybe they could treat Volcanion as they are with Diancie, with it getting a Mega in Z/ X2Y2. However, chances are we'll get Hoopa in 2015, and maybe Z/X2Y2 will come out next year too. If so then Hoopa could get the Diancie treatment instead.

Sceptile90 August 4th, 2014 1:37 PM

I hope that they keep Mew from Emerald and maybe give it a Mewite. Jirachi will hopefully be in the game with a connection to that White Rock in Mossdeep. Deoxys will hopefully either have the original event OR have an event where you go to the moon to catch it. (Imagine that the moon has 3D like that cave where you got the fossils in X and Y. Yeah.) Ho-Oh and Lugia would be great to have and Navel Rock would look cool in 3D. And I think they'll just keep Southern Island in the game without having the events (Though maybe you'd need to mix records. That'd be cool, I suppose).

Tetra August 4th, 2014 2:23 PM

They'll be adding new event items, probably like a few mega mystery gift stones for like Latios or something. Um, maybe they could add the tickets to the event islands too? I can see obtaining them through Mystery Gift, but since it's GF there's always a chance they won't include them. But I really want to go outer space in a suit and catch Jirachi/Deoxys there <3

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 4th, 2014 5:45 PM

The moon idea isn't as attractive to me anymore. Especially when remembering the origins of Deoxys and Jiranchi have to do with meteors and comets, and not the moon. Maybe a Cressilia event could happen there :P

Altairis August 5th, 2014 4:57 PM

Yeah, I've wondered why the other two legendaries from XY haven't been announced yet. It could be because of a marketing strategy and they want to announce them after ORAS so that those who only bought ORAS will also want to buy XY. Hmmm... XY is also still a little bit new, so they could be saving them for later anyway.

I hope that the Event Islands return in ORAS, with the tickets and everything for everyone distributed over Wifi or some sort of event that isn't restricted to just Japan.

XtinaIsMeLuvinWWE August 5th, 2014 5:38 PM

I never was able to get Latios/Latias in these games so I think of all the events I'd most like that one to return, although perhaps with some kind of easier method to obtain them :)

Maybe GameFreak could make the Eon Ticket e-Reader card into an AR card that would come with whichever game you purchased as a pre-order bonus or something?

If you look back to Gen III (as it was the first generation to have more than one event legendary) each event legend was released one at a time (with the closest being revealed being Keldeo and Meloetta as the short for the latter one was shown along with the movie for the former). So the others will come one at a time too (unless they share a movie, or a short along with a movie featuring legends). I have a feeling Zygarde will appear alongside the Primals as well as an event legend (like how Diancie was with Xerneas and Yvetal) in the next movie.

@ RandomDS I think that's a neat idea. I will definitely pre-order if that's the case :3

MarcEddy September 15th, 2014 11:10 AM

I always wonder how many actually did these events legit.

Cyclone September 15th, 2014 11:30 AM

I can see them making the MysticTicket available somehow; Lugia and Ho-oh need 6th Gen (hexagon) versions. So does Mew on Faraway Island. The legendary dogs aren't covered, but Deoxys would also get his hexagon through the event, and other Hoenn legendaries are already covered. The only things missing are the dogs and Sinnoh, which could make cameos in Z or (wait for it) Delta Emerald. And Unova, of course.

You know the blue hexagon that appears next to the other icons? The Pokérus smiley face is there, too.

Controversy September 16th, 2014 8:20 AM

Going by recent trends I expect at least one or two of these events (assuming they are all returning) to be serial codes.

Which kind of suck for most people like me. They seem to hate the wifi event or the local wifi events now, they prefer to give codes to gamestop and then the employees try to scam you by telling you to buy something to get a code.

pyrexpyramids September 16th, 2014 9:14 AM

i have a feeling that we will have access to some of these areas because the game map will be more expansive now however we will have to trigger in game events to do so as opposed to downloadable event items.

i would love to revisit these places, however even if we dont get to i dont really care. i have a full living pokedex so yah......i'm just waiting on diancie/hoopa/volcanion to keep it up to date.
