Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip?

Which one will you choose in the upcoming remakes? Why? Will you use its Mega evolution? Will you use any of the starters, or box it after you catch another Pokemon?

Altius August 3rd, 2014 7:27 PM

Started with treecko in the original Ruby, followed by mudkip in Emerald.

For nostalgia's sake (since this IS a Ruby/Sapphire remake) and I'm getting Omega Ruby first, it'll be treecko.

I will probably use its mega, but only when necessary. IMO, mega evolution makes the battle fairly easier.

Yato August 3rd, 2014 7:28 PM

I plan on starting with Treecko when I get Omega Ruby. It was my first ever starter in Ruby (my first ever GBA game) and is the only starter I ever legitimately raised to level 100 in my gen. III games, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I definitely plan on using its Mega; Mega Sceptile looks pretty badass and is pretty much what I hoped for it to be. It's definitely gonna stay on my team. I wouldn't take it out for any other Pokemon--even others with Megas I want to use.

In Alpha Sapphire, I plan on starting with Mudkip. I really love its and Swampert's design & shiny color palette, and I love Swampert's typing and bulk. I also have some good memories of Swampert; the one I have in Emerald has done pretty well in battle, including ones with the Frontier Brains. Like with Treecko, I plan on keeping it in my party; however, I will not be Mega Evolving it. I'm not a huge fan of Mega Swampert's design, plus I've been wanting to use Mega Manectric in-game, which I decided I'd use before Sceptile's and Swampert's Megas were announced. Not gonna wait to use it in another playthrough or in the next game(s).

DJTiki August 3rd, 2014 7:36 PM

I plan on starting with Treeko. It has the better mega evolution, in my eyes, and is my favorite Grass starter. It has Lightningrod, and will be quite helpful, with the game, before the Elite 4.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 3rd, 2014 7:47 PM

I'm surprised we let the starter thread die...it usually doesn't die this early.

Anyways I am planning to get Treecko. I do have nostalgia with the other two too, so it's kind of difficult to pick.

FlamebirdXZ August 3rd, 2014 9:47 PM

Wasn't there a thread like this already? I'm picking both mudkip and treecko because I plan on getting both versions.

Hikamaru August 3rd, 2014 11:19 PM

Mudkip for me, given my tendency to choose the Water starter. And it ties into the fact I used it in the original Ruby/Sapphire, and its Mega looks pretty strong. Also, less weaknesses means it doesn't have to worry about as much as the other two starters.

MarinoKadame August 3rd, 2014 11:31 PM

It depend on how Pokebank will work and if we can get the other megastones from a shop like the Gen 1 megastones from the stone shop old man NPC.

Centipede Chan August 4th, 2014 12:08 AM

I loved Blaziken to death but I used him so much in my old Gen 3 games and even in X. Plus we already know stuff about it's mega and stuff, so this time I'll go with Sceptile. I used to hate them for some reason but grass type pokemon are my favorite and Sceptile looks like a cool mother fu-

pokemon

Abby August 4th, 2014 1:06 AM

Mudkip is my favorite starter ever, so...

Laylaw August 4th, 2014 1:56 AM

Treecko used to be my favorite back in the days. But Mudkip's Mega evolution is just a little too cool. So, I don't really know yet. But I would say it's a 50/50 chance of either.

PlatinumDude August 4th, 2014 3:25 AM

As homage to my original Sapphire and Emerald games, I'm going with Mudkip in Alpha Sapphire.

blue August 4th, 2014 3:36 AM

Really can't decide yet since I like to have type diversity and due to the fact that all three Hoenn starters are awesome. At first I was set for Treecko, but since seeing Mega Swampert I'm more lenient to choosing Mudkip now and also since I'm using Roserade which is a Grass type. Torchic was my first starter in sapphire too, so for originality purposes I might go with Torchic which is why I'm torn on this decision rn. ;;

Pendraflare August 4th, 2014 3:57 AM

I'll most likely take Mudkip. It does decently in the beginning of the game, and although it's not ideal for the Elite Four it is pretty bulky. And should I do a blind Nuzlocke like i've said i'm considering, it might work well for that reason. Don't think i'd go with Treecko if only because of Wattson and Flannery )x

But if I keep a file for a normal playthrough, I think i'll pick Treecko then.

Firox August 4th, 2014 4:32 AM

I'll be choosing Mudkip in most OR/AS games but likely I'll end up ditching the starter after a while - I'll try my best to keep the starter in the first run.

Iceshadow3317 August 4th, 2014 6:46 AM

When I first played ruby, I used mudkip. But think I am gonna go with Treecko this time.

Captain Gizmo August 4th, 2014 6:49 AM

Mudkip. 2nd pick would be Torchic, because tbh I never even used Blaziken's mega evolution yet, lol. Last pick for me would be Treecko because type wise, it's still the weakest Pokemon.

Ozymandias August 4th, 2014 7:12 AM

If not for the mega evolution I would pick Torchic, but since I already have used mega Blaziken I think it would be kinda boring. Plus Mega Swampert is extra swole

Kikaito plush August 4th, 2014 7:37 AM

treecko as I started Sapphire with an Treecko first time around.

Sceptile90 August 4th, 2014 1:31 PM

I'm picking Treecko because I already had a Shiny Torchic (With Speed Boost :D) and a Shiny Mudkip bred specifically for these games! Plus, Sceptile is my favourite Pokémon. (Charizard's a close second with Greninja taking the third place spot!)

Koiko August 4th, 2014 9:02 PM

Mudkips because...

/thread.

Oblivion Wing August 4th, 2014 9:13 PM

Im picking treeko, but getting all of them. Also i heard you liked Mudkipz breh...

Glameows August 5th, 2014 3:29 AM

I'm choosing Torchic as I played Sapphire and Emerald with Torchic and is probably my favourite Hoenn starter. I used Charizard instead of Blaziken in X so it will be nice for me to see Mega Blaziken properly :) I'm going to be playing Alpha Sapphire first but if I play Omega Ruby, I might choose Treecko.

matwe August 5th, 2014 4:05 AM

Treecko all the ways.:)

Devastryk August 5th, 2014 4:16 AM

Just gonna trade the starters to my Fren ds then trade everything back again.starting with all three starters yay!

J2a1m1i2e August 5th, 2014 4:37 AM

I'm not sure ;-; I'm probably gonna choose Mudkip for the following reasons:

*Really wanna use Breloom, which means no Treecko, I like to have diversity (though I did have two Dark Types in Y...)
*Already used Torchic in XY
*When he eventually evolves, Mudkip will destroy Watson, and we wont have a Mega Sceptile by then...

But some reasons I DO want Treecko:

*I love Treecko
*Treecko is boss
*He is Grass
*He has one of the best Megas IMO
*Treecko is still boss
*Treecko was my first and is my favourite starter (but I did play Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team first, where I had a Cubone...)

EDIT: I'll probably just choose Treecko for AS when I get it, and Mudkip for OR when I eventually get that afterwards (but knowing my luck, I'll get OR first, just like with XY where I bought X first, but couldn't play for two months until I got a 3DS that could play it, whee I got Y and was nice enough to play with my gift first :P)

Zetsuen August 5th, 2014 6:39 AM

Always used to choose Torchic every time I played RSE, but took a liking for Mudkip later on. So yeah, gonna go for Mudkip.

Pepperton August 5th, 2014 7:27 AM

I myself am going to go with Treecko, because I've used Mudkip way too many times, and Mega Sceptile looks amazing. Grass/Dragon? Yes please!

Tetra August 5th, 2014 8:03 AM

TREECKO.
dat mega evolution. just.
It gets Grass/Dragon like what Pepperton said above. *dies*
i would normally go for torchic or mudkip but I've used them a lot recently xD

GigsPlace August 5th, 2014 8:15 AM

Torchic, because its easily one of my favorite pokemon

Meganium August 5th, 2014 8:15 AM

I got a Shiny Sceptile, and I already have a Blaziken (without the Blazikenite sadly), so I'm more likely going to choose Mudkip because its mega evo is just badass yo.

silverwind93 August 5th, 2014 8:21 AM

Treecko. I never liked Torchic or Mudkip's evolutions.

Kyrul August 5th, 2014 8:49 AM

Treecko. The only grass type pokemon that I actually like.

L0RD G3NGAR August 5th, 2014 10:13 AM

I would have thought Mudkip would be the most popular, but it seems Mega Sceptile has made more people want to pick Treecko.
I will pickMudkip because, it is of my favorite Pokemon, it's and okay Pokemon, plus I want to try out Mega Swampert

Sheep August 5th, 2014 11:24 AM

So many Treecko votes! Yay my baby is getting love.

I'm going with Treecko and should be mega evolving it, hopefully. I tend to neglect mega evos since the games are usually easy enough even without them but this time around I'm trying to change that. Definitely going to be using it on my team. :3

XtinaIsMeLuvinWWE August 5th, 2014 12:17 PM

Treecko for the win! :D

It's become my all-time favourite starter ever since Emerald, when I originally picked Torchic, was dissatisfied and restarted with Treecko which led me to appreciate Grass Starters more (not to mention Leaf Blade!!) :)

Plus, its Mega is UNREAL, seriously I don't think I've ever seen such perfection before haha, it completely exceeded my expectations :)

I feel kinda bad for Torchic - I feel like it would have a lot more votes in the poll if it hadn't been used already in X/Y :)

GreenFlame August 7th, 2014 8:01 AM

Where's the love for Torchic :(? I always choose Fire, so this will be mine, plus I like Blaziken better anyways.

Jonkane August 7th, 2014 8:38 AM

I'm going Treecko, Blaziken is overated I think. Maybe Mudkip but I don't like Marshstomp that much.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 7th, 2014 10:05 AM

Something you could do is keep it at a Mudkip, and evolve it at the level before it evolves into Marshtomp, and then after one level you'll get Swampert without needing to deal with it being a Marshtomp for long. Middle stages are the easiest to deal with like that imo.

Sadly Torchic having had an event in XY seems to be lowering the number of those using it. I would choose Torchic if it weren't for the XY event too tbh. Well, maybe if it end up having another Mega it'll see those picking it sky rocket :)

Thief August 7th, 2014 10:33 AM

Mudkip for sure, even if just for nostalgic purposes. Not too fond of his mega, but I don't like any of the Hoenn starter Megas really. I've become quite fond of Treecko/Grovyle lately but like I said, nostalgia = Mudkip.

BeachBoy August 7th, 2014 10:35 AM

Mudkip.

Too nostalgic not to go with the cutest thing ever.

But I will absolutely not use Mega Swampert (don't let mudkips take too much protein).

Hiatus August 7th, 2014 3:52 PM

My first option would be Mudkip. In general, Swampert is great, and it makes a great tank. Alongside, its design isn't that bad either; suits it quite well. I'm also really looking forward to getting a hold of its mega, as it looks simply stunning. Second option is Treecko, due to similar reasons; can't wait to try its mega-evolution. Third is definitely Torchic.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire August 7th, 2014 4:40 PM

Maybe I'll go with Mudkip. Out of the three starters I played with in Sapphire it was the one I bonded with the best for some reason. Actually my first and latest Swamperts have been the only Mudkips I've owned to make me feel that way. Perhaps I'll just trade my Swampert (my latest one, which is related to the first... grandkip I think...could be great grandkip... )over and hopefully buy her the Mega stone :3.

Gulpin August 7th, 2014 6:42 PM

Definitely Torchic. I chose it on my first time through Sapphire, plus I didn't use the Mystery Gift one in my run through X. So I haven't used Blaziken in a while, plus I have to for nostalgia's sake.

Altius August 7th, 2014 6:52 PM

I love torchic. I mean, that bird is so cute (yes cuter than mudkip, to me) and blaziken is a freaking beast. IMO it's better than sceptile, at least pre-mega.

Sadly, its role as a starter got... destroyed(?) in XY. Few picked it because of that torchic event when XY was released.

Salzorrah August 7th, 2014 9:24 PM

Although I love Torchic than any other Pokemon, I'm just gonna plan to breed my XY Blaziken and just transfer it in ORAS, and choose Mudkip coz he's a water type, has a badass bruhvelution, and fits the theme of Hoenn too much :P

Imperator161 August 8th, 2014 9:46 PM

On Alpha Sapphire, I'm going with Mudkip because it was my starter in Sapphire, I like water starters best/always go with them in my main game of each pair, and Mudkip is my favorite out of those 3. On Omega Ruby, I'm debating between trying Treecko or going with Mudkip again. I do like Mudkip a lot, so it may win out for both files (with the other starters traded over/bred instead).

I'll probably use my starter's mega, unless there's another new mega that I'd rather use.

Bayleefshine August 9th, 2014 9:36 AM

I might honestly start with Torchic like I did back in the RSE days because I didn't use Mega Blaziken on my X Y playthrough. I really want treecko too though because that one grew on me the most over the years. I might use Pokebank and have both of them.

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer August 9th, 2014 10:02 AM

I will be going with Treecko.
*It was the starter I picked on my first Ruby Play through.
* Its my favorite Hoenn starter anyway.
* Mega septile looks epic and the part Dragon typing looks like it should be fun.
*Was tempted to go Torchic because mega Blaziken is cool, but was on X so not new.
*The Mudkip line is one of my least favorite starters.

Juno August 9th, 2014 5:43 PM

I always say I'll try something new, but I know I'll probably go with Torchic again. I have chosen Mudkip and Treecko in the past, but I don't think I ever finished an RSE run with Treecko. Swampert yes, once or twice.

Bobbylicious August 9th, 2014 9:14 PM

Treecko for me.
If I ever get around to buying alpha sapphire then I'll pick mudkip

Arc August 9th, 2014 9:17 PM

Torchic.

My very first run of Ruby had Torchic as my starter, only fitting that for the remake it will be my starter again.

And if we do get the opportunity to be given our starter's respective mega stone in the main story, I have no doubt that I will use a Mega Blaziken.

Bounsweet August 9th, 2014 10:44 PM

I'm thinking of using Treecko because Mega Sceptile looks so amazing, but I do love Torchic... :(

Gen III starters are all my favs, picking one is always the hardest for me of all the gens.

Sun August 9th, 2014 10:53 PM

Mudkip, because "I herd you liek mudkipz"

Umm.. Yeah I actually love Mudkip (along the other 2 lovely Hoenn starters). :P
I'ma take Mudkip as my starter for OR and Treecko for AS. :)

Apollo August 10th, 2014 12:49 AM

Treecko, paying homage to my starter in Emerald. :) Plus, Mega Sceptile is too cool.

King Zekrom August 11th, 2014 2:09 AM

Definitely Treecko! It's my avatar for goodness sake XD. Something about that pokemon made me think it was soooo cool when I was a kid (and I still am) and I just want to relive the old days.

Sabrewulf238 August 11th, 2014 5:41 AM

I'll be picking Torchic because I chose Torchic in my original play of Sapphire. I also never used Mega Blaziken in X so it'll be new to me.

Puzzle-5 August 11th, 2014 7:51 AM

I'll be going with Treecko, if only because Sceptile's Mega Evolution is my favorite of the three starters.

DraconianWing August 11th, 2014 9:38 AM

I've picked Torchic and Mudkip before, so I might as well use Treecko for a change in ORAS (Especially with that Dragon type mega)

RedJ August 11th, 2014 10:13 AM

I still have my Sceptile from Ruby and the event Torchic, so I'll be going with Mudkip. I might still use the event Torchic, though.

Fourth The Tyrant August 11th, 2014 11:04 AM

Treecko! My favorite grass-type ever, and dat dragon-type mega tho. I'll use him on OR, and if I get AS I'll take Torchic, as homage to my first time playing Sapphire. Ah, I can't wait for November.

TrueMangaMan August 11th, 2014 11:22 AM

In the original Ruby, I went with Torchic because...well, because I liked Torchic. Now with the new games, I decided to go for Treeko, mostly due to his new Mega evolution. I've been wanting to do a rain team for a while and while yes Mega Swampert might be the better choice with Swift Swim, I just like the idea of Lightning Rod and Grass Dragon.

Starry Windy August 11th, 2014 6:24 PM

I choose Treecko, since I was using one in my Emerald gameplay.

acatfrommars August 11th, 2014 6:45 PM

I was planning on only buying one copy, but I may buy 2 for runthroughs on the other. I really like all three starters for this generation, but my favorite is Mudkip. I'll be picking Mudkip when I start the game, because not only is Swampert a beast but Mega Swampert looks epic as well! What I'm hoping for is that we cna choose another starter later on like we were able to in Pokemon X/Y.

LyokoGirl5000 August 11th, 2014 6:54 PM

Mudkip for Alpha Sapphire, Treecko for Omega Ruby. Just like I did with the originals. The fact that I can get Torchic's Mega Stone from my X game has nothing to do with my decision. I just don't like Fire/Fighting as a type combination, so Torchic is completely out of the picture for my Alpha Sapphire game and will have to wait for at least my second playthrough of Omega Ruby.

Hawk Tartaros August 11th, 2014 11:36 PM

I have bred a 5 iv adamant speed boost Torchick for Omega Ruby, i don't know if i'm going to EV train them already or wait.
When i can i will transfer Torchick over, i don't have blazikenite so i'm happy i can still get a speed boot mega Blaziken.
I will breed 5 other, minimum 5 or 6 IV pokemon i will take on my journey through Hoenn.

tnfsf11 August 15th, 2014 4:35 AM

I'm using all 3 starters, twice!
It's either a team of starters or a team of non-starters for me.

Solar Snivy August 15th, 2014 6:03 PM

I always pick grass, so I'll go with Treecko for AS. Plus Mega Sceptile is awesome.

Justarandomguy54 August 15th, 2014 6:35 PM

Mudkip. It was my first choice, and I have a tendency to choose the Water starter anyway. Except in Pokémon X, where I choose Chespin and Squirtle.

Vaniville August 16th, 2014 8:07 AM

Torchic was my starter in Sapphire and Emerald, so I'm going with it again this time around too. I like birds and Blaziken is one of my favorite designs <3

SnowpointQuincy August 16th, 2014 8:29 AM

Toughest choice. Treeko wins for in game mode.

Mudkip might be better online though... I got this rain dance team...

atomtanned August 16th, 2014 9:02 AM

I'm starting off with Alpha Sapphire (I had Sapphire originally) and though I usually pick the fire-type as a starter, this time around I'll go with Mudkip because I have already used Blaziken and its mega in XY. Then when I pick up Ruby eventually I'll choose Treecko.

Aether★ August 16th, 2014 9:26 AM

I have enough of Torchic and Blaziken in general from X, I don't like grass types much, so I'll probably go with Mudkip, will be useful to solo first 4 gyms easily :)

ObnoxiousOboe August 16th, 2014 10:43 AM

I would choose Mudkip, because Mudkip is kind of underrated compared to the other two Pokemon. Arguably, I would consider Swampert to be one of the strongest out of the starters.

Calamitastrophe August 16th, 2014 11:23 PM

Mudkip, because mega Swampert looks so beast!

Dr. Wiggles August 17th, 2014 12:08 AM

Treecko was so bad in gen 3. I do believe single typing would be a better choice down the stretch in current gen.

EagleVision1999 August 17th, 2014 3:09 PM

Hmm...I generally like Torchic (and its evolutions) best, but I already kind of used it as a starter in Y, so probably Mudkip. Treecko really isn't great.

AANickFan September 3rd, 2014 10:31 AM

Why is Torchic so unpopular in this poll? Not that I like Torchic or anything, but still. I thought Mega Blaziken was the coolest thing to every1 in the Pokemon Community.

Mercurybro September 3rd, 2014 10:48 AM

I can't wait to literally Blaze my way through AS with Torchic. I haven't played x/y yet (but might play a potential sequel) and am looking forward to using mega's in game for the first time, especially for blaziken. I know I can use only blaziken to get through the entire game on sapphire, with a little help from kyogre in e4, and will probably do it this time around too.

Mr. X September 3rd, 2014 11:21 AM

Torchic is unpopular in this poll since a lot of people have used it in a starter for X/Y.

I'll be transfering over a Torchic and a Squirtle so I'll be picking Treeko.

curiousnathan September 5th, 2014 5:40 PM

I will probably choose Treecko as my starter, but then trade in a Torchic as well. I like Blaziken and Sceptile a lot so why not?

TRGrunt September 6th, 2014 6:02 AM

Torchic definitely, I love my fire starters!

MarinoKadame September 6th, 2014 6:27 AM

I wonder if I could transfert eggs via pokebank to ORAS, this way I could get a starter with good IV and ability that will be hatched in Hoenn instead of being from Kalos.

Naikado September 6th, 2014 8:00 AM

In Gen III as a kid, I'd usually choose Torchic and beat the game using only it. I'm choosing Mudkip this time, and spent months breeding a shiny to use. Giant pink beefcake. Yes.

I'm excited for whatever changes they might have made to the game- and it would cool if I'd be able to make a more varied team than usual.

FlyingBeastie September 6th, 2014 11:43 AM

Unless they update Pokebank I doubt it, we can't put eggs on it right now which is a pain... If they do update it I have a Buneary egg, which should have some decent egg moves, which I'd like to move over for Mega Lopunny...

I'll be using Mudkip in Omega Ruby, just like in my first time playing Ruby and then Treeko in Alpha Sapphire, which my brother used in Sapphire- unfortunately he doesn't play Pokemon anymore so I'm getting OR and AS. I might breed a Torchic just to get its line registered in my OR Pokedex.

Sirfetch’d September 7th, 2014 5:03 PM

I almost always pick Torchic when playing Hoenn because it is my favorite starter of all time! However since I have already used it's mega evolution I will be going with Mudkip. I am super excited about Mega Swampert and can't wait to use it!

4768fitz September 10th, 2014 2:41 PM

Treecko obviously. Because Grass/Dragon?! Just yes. Plus the first time I played the original I chose Mudkip.

Altairis September 10th, 2014 10:17 PM

I was planning on picking Treecko from the start because I did so in the original Sapphire and Sceptile is one of my favorites, but now that Mega Sceptile is Dragon/Grass I can't resist. <3 Next time I play through ORAS I'm going with Mudkip since I haven't chosen it before.

peterd1994 September 23rd, 2014 12:34 AM

its hard to pick can someone help me dont know what one to have treecko or mudkip :(

Well, it depends on what version you're getting. If you're getting Omega Ruby, I'd say Mudkip, because Mudkip's line will just blast through Team Magma, and Treecko's line would just blast through team Aqua on Alpha Sapphire. It also depends on your other team members, as if you are already planning on using a Grass type like Bellossom, then you don't really need another grass type that specializes in Special Attack. And of course, it doesn't make sense to have a Gyarados and Swampert on the same team, as they are both physical Water types. As for me, I'm picking Torchic, as I almost always pick the Fire starter in my first run through a game.

I was thinking of mudkip as I used to play it back in the old ruby I know I'm going to have salamance on my team its just the rest its hard to choose

Del September 23rd, 2014 7:12 AM

I want an electric type as Starter :/
well I choose Torchic not because of the type, but because of He looks cooler than the other craps

ThatChickWithNoLife September 23rd, 2014 8:20 PM

There's only one reason why I'm picking Treeko...
http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:254Sceptile-Mega.png

Mega... DRAGON... Type!!!!!

Pochama95 September 24th, 2014 10:27 AM

I want to choose Mudkip but Mega Swampert doesn't have any special qualities and I'm honestly playing this game for the stones so Mega Sceptile is more valuable. Treecko is my choice. Altaria and Lopunny ftw.

Torchic <3

It was my starter on Gen3... So many memories... I'll have to find my Pokemon Ruby cartridge. My Pokemon Blue still works with my 5 badges and a level 51 Charizard :D

Heh, going with Mudkip. Gotta be, it was always my favourite Hoenn starter. :D

Treecko all the way. Not only is Sceptile one of my favorite Pokemon, but its Mega Form looks awesome.

When I first got Pokemon Emerald (my first Gen 3 game) I chose Treecko. Ever since then, Treecko has been my favorite Gen 3 starter. I will most likely choose it when I get AS.

I'd say Mudkip is the best choice. It becoming an unbeatable Ground/Water type. I believe that Mega Swampert is going to be a tank.

I'm skipping out on Treeko because it has too many weaknesses. It sometimes makes it up with speed. Sceptile's Mega evolution doesn't excite me with it being a Dragon/Grass Type. One Ice Beam and GG.

I'm skipping out on Torchic because of my painful memories in Ruby with Roxanne and Broly. Some would go with Torchic, with Blaziken's Mega Evolution being an Ubers Pokemon, but I don't see it as that strong. one Earthquake. BraveBird? GG

I see what you're saying, but I don't see why those weaknesses should deter you from using the other starters. You won't keep Blaziken in on something that knows EQ, especially since ingame the ones that use it are often Ground- or Rock-types, where Blaziken could just use its own Earthquake to take them out. Swampert has a 4x weakness to Grass, which isn't that uncommon of a type?
