I lost track. Is the conversation about school/work or sleep?

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 12:13 PM

I think it's a little about both. Needs more weather/food talk though.

Aisu September 10th, 2014 12:55 PM

Food! Aisu's time to shine. ^^ I'm terribly deprived of America's glorious McDonald's and Pizza hut, which my mom does not want to buy on the grounds of unhealthiness. ;-;

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 12:56 PM

Pizza hut is great! Having pizza tonight myself haha

TRIFORCE89 September 10th, 2014 3:11 PM

Food talk, woo! \o/

I had a fantastic dinner the other night. Started off with some lovely steamed mussels in a white wine cream sauce as an appetizer. And then main course was massive with bison, lobster, and truffle mac and cheese.

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 3:54 PM

I just had a small food orgasm. my god that sounds so tasty! Tonight it was pizza again wooo! I love pizza but it gets tiring after a while :(

Sonata September 10th, 2014 4:10 PM

Sounds like paradise. I haven' had a meal like that in a couple months.

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 4:16 PM

Just a random question, if you guys could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Aisu September 10th, 2014 4:26 PM

Ramen. And not those wussy cup noodles; I mean the anime-style, Naruto/Space Dandy/Inuyasha ramen. It has all essential nutrients and a delicious taste to go along with it.

Mussels. I adore mussels. On my trip to France I had a different variation on mussels everyday lol

So much seafood may get sickening after awhile though. So, I'll go with a pasta dish. Maybe one of the more heartier ones my Mom makes, that should keep me going for a while. Like a bucatini bolognese or pappardelle with artisanal mushrooms in a cream sauce

Starry Windy September 10th, 2014 5:44 PM

A burger which has fish in it. I enjoyed eating one several years ago and starting to like it ever since.

Sonata September 10th, 2014 5:52 PM

I would be fine with bbq ribs for the rest of my life.

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 6:02 PM

I honestly would pick steak. Who wouldnt want steak every day? :D

Well, I'm not sure of eating ribs too, I'd prefer steak or Cordon Bleu much better for me (and sorry too).

Livewire September 10th, 2014 6:29 PM

There's a time and a place for good ribs but I'll take a medium-rare/rare steak over ribs any day of the week.

/also currently starving

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 6:35 PM

The DCC: the place that only makes you hungrier than you were before.

Sheep September 10th, 2014 6:51 PM

Sushi for life. So many different combinations. I can eat it all day every day.

Sonata September 10th, 2014 7:10 PM

My grandma doesn't like bbq in general and it makes me sad because it really cuts down on what I can eat when I'm with her, she'd rather eat steak or chicken every day too.

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 7:24 PM

Chicken gets old for me too. My mom makes so many chicken dishes that it is really ridiculous. It's a diverse food and is good but damn too much is too much

Anime does not do real ramen justice.

I really craved it today but I didn't get out of D&D until after the ramen place was closed so I could not acquire it. It was a sad night.

Flygonite September 10th, 2014 8:22 PM

I miss all the food I used to eat. I used to eat so much chicken. :/.
My meal plan for University is 10 meals a week, so I really got to limit myself and I don't always get me 3 meals a day.

It's a sad world :(

Sonata September 10th, 2014 9:10 PM

Speaking of ramen, has anyone ever tried ramenade?

It's delicious. It tastes kinda weird at first though.

Sirfetch’d September 10th, 2014 9:26 PM

As much as I love ramen and lemonade I think I'd have to pass on this haha. XD

Morgnarok September 11th, 2014 12:15 AM

I could never do that. I hate just letting my food touch each other if i have corn and mashed potatoes on the same plate.

Sirfetch’d September 11th, 2014 9:01 AM

I don't mind my food touching each other, but it bothers me if two liquidy foods begin touching. It's so weird and nasty imo

Flygonite September 11th, 2014 9:08 AM

OH MY GOD. I HATE FOOD TOUCHING.
I can't even have like some dry substance touching another dry substance. I have to get multiple plates all the time, because I'm just that picky.

Unless it's hashbrowns and eggs. That's the good ****.

My brother is the same way haha. He will get a different plate and many different spoons, knifes, or forks for every meal because absolutely nothing can touch or he won't eat it. I know this is common with some people but I feel he takes it to the extreme...

Oryx September 11th, 2014 9:39 AM

I'm super judgmental about pickiness. I shouldn't be because it's not like a lot of people can help it (but some can and choose not to!), but it drives me crazy when people wrinkle their noses at whatever I'm eating. Happened today when I mentioned wanting a salad because it's prepackaged here and she was like "oh, Nicole, noooo" as if they're inherently bad just because she doesn't like them.

Sorry picky people, I judge.

I just don't like my food touching. Although, I am very picky but I absolutely hate it.
I've tried so many different things to expand out of it, but I just really don't like a lot of stuff. I did find a new love to green bell peppers.

However, I had a fajita last month or so from a mexican place with green, red and yellow bell peppers on it, and honestly, it just wasn't as good to me as just some lettuce, cheese, chicken and some queso or something.

I do like certain things, but sometimes I just like the more basic things more.

Yeah! Like, I buy bagged lettuce. And people look at you odd. But it's just prewashed, jeez. Chill people

Rogue planet September 11th, 2014 2:11 PM

Haha, in Holland the standard office worker lunch is to buy prepacked salad; I get funny reactions because I always opt for a sandwich. Get what you enjoy because it's always the best.

Dude I'm the same way! I always have my food separated. The only time I combine my food is if I'm eating general tso chicken on top of white rice lol. Besides that, my food stays in their little section.

Not me, I hate when the juice of the meat lands on the rice. I like the taste of rice, not steak flavored rice lol. But thats because I boil my rice with garlic so it has its own flavor.

General tso chicken is the exception because chinese-american rice is very plain.

Sirfetch’d September 11th, 2014 2:33 PM

You're probably one of the few but I doubt the only. I used to hate rice as a kid but I ended up liking it a lot when my mom added garlic to the mix.

Sirfetch’d September 11th, 2014 2:42 PM

I might like it with garlic, I just have had bad experiences with it either being too dry or too salty. I just never became a fan of it tbh

Alfieri September 11th, 2014 2:47 PM

I see what you mean. Rice is one of those foods that needs to be at a certain level to taste right lol.

Hikamaru September 11th, 2014 8:46 PM

I usually always need some way to add flavor to my rice or otherwise it's tasteless and hard for me to eat. I pretty much have it with curry when possible, because I like flavoring it with the sauce.

In fact, you can easily tell I care about taste when it comes to food.

Sirfetch’d September 11th, 2014 8:58 PM

I gotta say I'm loving how we are still on the topic of food haha. Too bad every time I look at this thread I want to go out to eat :(

Sonata September 11th, 2014 10:38 PM

Too bad we're not talking about chinese food. Chinese sounds so good right now. They need to make late night chinese buffets because why not.

Shining Raichu September 12th, 2014 4:17 AM

Well you're not meant to eat just rice, that's gross. You cover it with the delicious sauce from the Chinese food and it soaks up the flavour and becomes one with the universe.

Shining Raichu September 13th, 2014 6:28 AM

People don't DCC anymore. It's no longer cool like the discotheque.

Oryx September 13th, 2014 6:30 AM

It's because you never change the name.

Shining Raichu September 13th, 2014 6:38 AM

Oh Jesus I forgot. It doesn't help that I'm on my iPad, I'll change it when I go on my laptop because it's easier there.

El Héroe Oscuro September 13th, 2014 7:24 PM

Odd question, but who here can do a split? I really want to be able to do one.

Aisu September 13th, 2014 7:37 PM

I can. Then I hurt myself.

Sonata September 13th, 2014 7:43 PM

I can work my way into a splits, but I can't just say "I'm gonna do the splits. Bam." I only became able to do it last year because our marching band show had us doing the splits and a lot of other crazy stuff.

Alex September 13th, 2014 8:02 PM

I mean.... I caaaan. I'll break my pelvis but, y'know, I can.

Aizuke September 14th, 2014 2:02 AM

I can't. But Van Damme can do the splits, no problem.

Shining Raichu September 14th, 2014 5:35 AM

It's not something I'd personally recommend for men.

Hikamaru September 14th, 2014 5:49 AM

I don't think I can ever attempt a split. I heard those are painful.

Oryx September 14th, 2014 7:56 AM

I can almost put my feet behind my head! But I can't touch my toes...

Aisu September 14th, 2014 8:09 AM

Since we're on this topic, who here can do backflips?

Sirfetch’d September 14th, 2014 8:38 AM

I can't do a backflip to save my life! Tbh even if I thought I could I probably wouldn't because I'd be afraid of breaking something :s

Alfieri September 14th, 2014 10:09 AM

I used to be able to do a cartwheel as a kid but then I grew up and became less flexible or agile. I'd probably break my elbows or neck trying to perform anything lol.

C'mon Alfie, we're nerds. We don't do anything physical beyond typing our manga websites into the Internet. {:3}

Sonata September 14th, 2014 11:08 AM

What's a backflip when you can't even do a front flip? I'm always scared I'm going to land on my neck and die so I never really tried either way.

Hikamaru September 14th, 2014 1:25 PM

I can't do a backflip. I also can't cartwheel.

I feel like I'm just a flop when it comes to certain physical talents.

Kura September 14th, 2014 1:40 PM

I can't do a backflip either and I'm pretty sure I can still do a cartwheel but it's been a while since I tried haha!

Impressive!

I remember this from elementary school gym class. Could never do it. Could rarely ever dive properly from a pool too

Aizuke September 14th, 2014 2:13 PM

I've always wanted to learn how to do a backflip or a frontflip and the reason would be, because it looks cool lol but yeaah you'd need good body strength to be able to forcely thrust yourself properly so you don't get hurt.

Meganium September 14th, 2014 2:29 PM

I...can't do any of that. xD I've done some tumbling when I was 3 years old but if I were to do a cartweel and handstand, I can't. xD

Only when I'm swimming though.

Radioactive September 14th, 2014 4:46 PM

There was a girl I knew in fifth grade who crushed on me big-time, and she could totally put her leg entirely behind her back. Going into middle school was a lot of fun with that to return to! :p

It was the only time I ever dug black chicks, and I still kind of dig her from my then 13-year-old self. Fun times.

Poki September 15th, 2014 1:32 AM

I tried to do a cartwheel as a little kid. Once. You can probably tell what happened.

Well good luck, I remember when one of my molars at the very back succumbed to a hole and it needed surgery to get out, and that's why if you were to look at my teeth you'll realize why it's not so perfect.

I always fear the dentist hehehehehe

Aizuke September 15th, 2014 1:29 PM

My bottom wisdom teeth came in and was actually impacting on my molars. So I have to get both my bottom molars and widsom teeth removed, and now chewing takes a while for me lol

blue September 15th, 2014 1:50 PM

I've never experienced Wisdom Teeth, apparently they're very painful though. Someone in work who is around my age has just had hers come through soooooo... D:

Aizuke September 15th, 2014 2:10 PM

You'd be extremely lucky if your widsom teeth never come in, it happens to some people.

Morkula September 15th, 2014 4:51 PM

I never had to have my wisdom teeth removed, and they haven't given me any trouble - at least so far.
*knock on wood*

Really glad though. The whole process just sounds...unpleasant. :|

Alfieri September 15th, 2014 4:56 PM

I'm turning 19 next week and my ortho said I don't have any wisdom teeth right now. Let's keep it that way lol.

Fun fact: Humans who are born without ever growing wisdom teeth are actually evolved humans. :o

Oryx September 15th, 2014 5:10 PM

I have a few impacted wisdom teeth and one that just got all the way through like last week. I didn't know impacted teeth weren't necessarily bad until I realized I had them!

Pendraflare September 15th, 2014 5:18 PM

I've heard bad things about wisdom teeth, doesn't sound pleasant at all needing them removed. I was told I think last spring (or it may have been a year ago) that mine were coming in. D: My sister had hers removed less than two months before she turned 22, so I may end up having to have mine contended to.

Aisu September 15th, 2014 6:13 PM

My wisdom teeth are fine, my other teeth would be problematic. I have a "needs braces/Mom won't buy" dilemma and "incoming! cavity" dilemma. I blame Oreos for being milk's (and Aisu's) favorite cookie.

Meh, you probably don't need braces. I've always seen them as a ploy just to swindle you out of your money. I've never had braces and my teeth are just fine.

#conspiracytheories #2spooky

Oryx September 15th, 2014 7:26 PM

I don't think braces are a "everyone needs them or no one does" scenario, but a "some people need them" scenario. Thus your teeth are fine without them but not everyone's is.

I have one misaligned tooth because I tore it out way early. Not enough for the massive cost of braces so I never bothered. No one's ever complained about my teeth so who cares??

Flygonite September 15th, 2014 8:13 PM

I had a gap in my front teeth so my parents made me get braces.
Totally wasn't worth it.

Hikamaru September 15th, 2014 8:27 PM

I would hate wearing braces. Those would be painful, so thank god my teeth aren't in such an awkward position that would have needed them.

Sonata September 15th, 2014 8:58 PM

I needed braces for about 3 months because I never liked to pull my teeth so they grew in kinda weird, I had this tooth that kinda started growing in, and my baby tooth was still there, and it just kinda broke through the tooth and the tooth was just split into four pieces surrounding the new tooth. Very painful, and it offset the growth of my new tooth so I had to get that removed and then there was the reason for my braces. And now I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth which is extremely bothersome and then I never wear my retainer on my top teeth.

obZen September 15th, 2014 9:18 PM

Thankfully, my teeth are one thing that were always solid
No braces, never had a cavity
I had a metal filling for protection when I was little (it was on a baby tooth)
Biting on tin foil felt WEIRD on that tooth

Sonata September 16th, 2014 2:16 AM

I think the word 'weird' isn't the right one to use here. I think excruciatingly painful would better fit that feeling.

Aizuke September 16th, 2014 1:56 PM

I've never had braces or cavities either. Although I never understood why my widsom teeth came in so horribly, when the rest of my teeth are fine.

Australian's dental system is horrible, if you don't have private health care, it'll cost you so much to get any dental surgery done. It cost me alone $150 to go get my teeth checked, who the hell wants to pay that much? It is ridiculous.

DJTiki September 16th, 2014 2:01 PM

If I did a backflip, I will kill myself. I need to work out more.

Tsutarja September 16th, 2014 2:21 PM

I can remember wanting to do backflips after I discovered them when I was young and playing Ocarina of Time. I didn't think they were real at first, either.

Oh, teeth? Yeah, I've had both braces and wisdom teeth removal surgery. I had no problem coping with my wisdom teeth removal, but I didn't like having braces. Braces definitely limited my diet at the time I had them, and it was very uncomfortable when I had brackets pop off and when my wire was changed out.
