You're the only one talking about suicide. The phrase has nothing to do with suicide. Sometimes committing suicide is biting the bullet, sometimes it's not. Just like sometimes talking to a person is biting the bullet and sometimes it's not, and any other countless actions that may or may not apply depending on the circumstances.

Shining Raichu September 22nd, 2014 7:53 AM

Jesus Christ enough. Biting the bullet doesn't mean what you think it means, Alex. Stop trying to make it work.

Alexander Nicholi September 22nd, 2014 8:01 AM

Tell me what I'm supposed to say instead. Tell me how I ought to sound and talk. Make me act acceptably; make me behave. May you?

So how does everybody feel about post-its? Personally I think they're handy little yellow mofos, but this could be the controversial topic to end all controversy.

Oryx September 22nd, 2014 8:23 AM

My desk at work came with a brand-new set of Post-Its. I used it to stick my area code onto my desk phone and doodle. I should write myself inspirational quotes and stick them to my monitor.

It's one of the things I miss from the 90s. Put them all around the edges of your manilla CRT, log onto Windows 95, it was simple. You didn't waste a bunch of electricity showing pretty pictures on the monitor and you did your job. Nowadays though they make creative fuel.

The brand name ones burn really nicely and the ink dyes the flames, and when you burn the knock offs the cheaper adhesives makes this bizarre mixture of wax and ash.

No offence, but this just goes against common sense.

The thing about people is that people are...less than smart at times.

TRIFORCE89 September 22nd, 2014 2:55 PM

Post-its are useful. I use them frequently for notes and as temporary labels and bookmarks

Bellsprout September 22nd, 2014 3:31 PM

They're one of those things that I'm sure are really handy to some, but has never come in handy to me. In the past I have stuck them to my upper lip/chin and pretended I had a paper mustache/goatee out of complete boredom.

Nick September 22nd, 2014 5:06 PM

Wow. You guys need to chill out and take it easy on Alex. People use some phrases differently in different parts of the world. Even in different areas within a general area. People probably use the expression that way where he lives.

Oops I'm a page behind but I think my point stands.

Alfieri September 22nd, 2014 5:30 PM

I hardly use post-its. The last time I used them was in my Junior year in high school to bookmark my books.

TheFattestSnorlax September 22nd, 2014 5:49 PM

I think I might use Post-it notes sometime when I'm grown up. Probably at a job, but who knows when.

Say whatever you want, just make sure you know the meanings behind the words and phrases you're using. One time, I told my friends I was "livid" thinking it meant content or cheerful. NOPE lol.

Post-its are cool I think they were invented on accident, as in the guy originally wanted to create something completely different but post-its were really well received. Personally, I never use them.

Once I tried to invent a new element and accidentally invented Saturn so I know how he feels.

I hate it when that happens :\

Alexander Nicholi September 23rd, 2014 4:15 AM

thanks Nick. A power nap did it help my blood to settle a little bit better but it's nice to know that there is someone out for me as well. I do appreciate it.

in regards to that new article, I'm actually incredibly happy that /b/ finally did something useful for the first time in a while. When you get really sick of Mac users yammering about their technology, its really nice and relieving to read this and watch their idiocy get exposed. I hope it didn't break their phones though, honestly speaking. There is a point to where it does become overkill in any situation.

VeranithasVI September 23rd, 2014 4:21 AM

I'd love to use Post-It's but mine generally just depict bizarre and/or inappropriate drawings and hang off my Mac for a few days before I throw them out. :(

I use post-it notes from a sorority that I'm not in anymore. It gives me great joy to use their stuff when I'm not "supposed" to. When I quit that sorority, they asked for my sorority pin back. That thing was about $200, made of real gold and pearls. Needless to say I told them to get lost.

Sonata September 23rd, 2014 6:05 AM

Post it notes are great for making flip books. But I've never really found any other use for them.

Oryx September 23rd, 2014 6:09 AM

I like them for their function as tiny, simplistic notepads - no extra stuff like cardboard or binding. Like when I was looking for a new desk I was walking around my workplace and writing down ones I wanted to look into, and I didn't want to walk behind a bunch of people writing things on a giant notepad because that's pretty creepy.

Why'd you end up quitting the sorority?

When I originally joined, there were a lot of cool people I got along with. Two years later, everyone I was tight with had graduated and I found the newer members to be very cliqueish and unfriendly to me. It was like I was in a totally different sorority all of a sudden. So I decided to quit. I also was having problems affording the dues.

Haha, I totally will in the future. I just re-found it in my stuff yesterday.
