GBA & GB Fakemon/Mega Evolution Sprites

Feast and Famine GBA Project
Spoiler:
Plot & Overview

Spoiler:
- Pokemon were over exploited for food resources, beyond the needs of sustenance. Fueled by greedy manufacturing companies.

- As a results, legendary pokemon [A] makes humans suffer for their overexploitation and greed.

- Counter legendary pokemon [B] replenishes crops to ensure all can live without fear of famine, and actually grows new pokemon life that had for the most part gone extinct after human exploitation and legendary [A] destroying crops.

- Thus, Pokemon had emerged from the soil of the Earth with the ability to grow all sorts of food to avoid being pouched/slaughtered. Since...

- The regulating legendary [C] ensures there is a balance between these two modes. If humans don't abide by the laws of fair treatment of pokemon legedary pokemon [C] will banish [B] and allow [A] to cause famine throughout the land.

- Evil Team [?] seeks to cause famine/food shortages as a means to sell their laboratory grown pokemon specimens at high prices. Thus, they seek to summon legendary [C] and destroy legendary [B] and capture legendary [A].

Yep, so that's how I am justifying a game of food based pokemon. Inspired by the pokemon candy hack as well as the Fighting Foodon's. (why doesn't a hack team use these amazing sprites for a GSC hack???)

Anyway, I will be creating pokemon with the ability to grow food of some sort and fashion. I was thinking of adding food types, but I think I will stick with the original types...the meat/grain/ect category wasn't working out too well.

I will try to make the sprites fun and some, a bit silly, but at the same time, add a bit of variety. That's why I have tried to develop a game that at least tries to justify the food fakemon. haha.

Added several more pokemon.

The snake line is actually a very old line I did, I have a few others I can add quickly to beef up the number of sprites on this thread for viewers.

Ice September 4th, 2014 8:02 AM

I totally love that Snake pokemon. It's concept is just so genious. The Peppermint pokemon looks great too.

The coconut pokemon is really frontal though. The slug pokemon is really hard to figure out, I really can't figure what kind of position it's in.

Entermaid September 4th, 2014 6:03 PM

Added my Octopus Pokemon.
It's based on a gumball machine, some of which form into gummy worm apendages. The bubblegum bubble forms the larger globe/head which contains additional gumballs that can hatch into sour gummy worms.

This psychic pokemon uses it's abilities to regenerate and surprise it's opponent. A preevo is coming soon.

Thank you!
I totally agree with my nutty koalas, they were very rushed, but I will repose them. As far as the slugs, they are posed in a quirky and intriguing way.

That's a pretty awesome idea you've got - and the sprites so far look amazing. I love Forbitten (both the name and the sprite) and your sorbet pokemon is cute as. It would be a pretty interesting game (or hack ;o).

Did you make the GSC-style sprites or are they from somewhere else?

Thanks! I had to basically complete renovate the old sprite for Forbitten to make the poison apples look more glossy or "candified".

Oh, those sprites are from a Japanese-exclusive game for the GBC, Fighting Foodon's. The anime is like pokemon and Dragon Ball combined, with a culinary twist. It would be so easy to just insert the sprites (wink wink, someone do this)

I've done nearly a complete Pokedex (90 sprites) in GBC, which I might put up on here after I have it all in a presentable format.

So, I had a great idea. (At least I think so.)
Rock-Candy Pokemon

Needs a few retouches.
Chompiller
Rock/Bug Type
http://s26.postimg.org/xpcjbo0ph/Chompilla.png

The goal is to make a butterfly/Moth pokemon that will not be KO'd instantly from a rock-type move.

(PS savory foods coming soon. Can't live off sugar alone.)

EDIT

Added changes to Jellarva.

http://s26.postimg.org/xny04i9hx/Blubble.png

I thought making the gumball machine from a pink bubble, might standout better.

Those badge are creative! and love all ur fakemon work.
Jus 1 question, can i know where Pluscious (the peppermint pokemon last evolution) head?

Entermaid September 17th, 2014 5:04 PM

Mega Jynx
Type: Psychic/Ice

Edit to Lamello Line, Delta brought up a point I didn't really notice until I look at the sprite more closely, with "fresh" eyes. I fixed a bit of the ambiguity in the face.

http://s26.postimg.org/5vvtsvel1/Lamello_Line.png

Added Grass Starter and a sneak peak at some of the dex platforms, they are made to be able to swap for any typing combination.

I am very, very much enjoying your sprites here. I mean, they're just fun to look at. Your color choices, your megas, and just everything looks so clean and well executed. Not to mention inspired. You should be proud of the work you're doing, because a lot of us are enjoying it. :)

Fedarik September 19th, 2014 3:26 PM

I came here quite sceptical thinking "oh here we go again, some more fakemon nonsense" But no, this is hands down the best and most detailed fanmade pokemon I have ever seen. Kudos sir, Kudos

Although Mega Jynx scares me, that needs to die by fire.

Fedarik

Thank You!

I have made some headway on my templates, but I wanted to throw this together for all 95ish of the actual sprites.

I will be updating with 10 or so new pokemon this week.

Fairy October 18th, 2014 6:58 PM

It might be me, but your sprite sheet is a little.. blurry? Maybe it's my PC but I'm obligated to mention it in case someone else is having that issue. :)

Anyway.. I don't know HOW ON EARTH I didn't already post in this thread??? Like seriously, I think space-time just totally jacked up here because I could have sworn I posted a bunch of stuff gushing about your work. Not that I mind doing it again (or for the first time!?), but it's like blowing my mind right now.

This gallery. This work. I mean. Wow.

http://s26.postimg.org/u9soqukd1/Randome.png
I think this is my most favorite, most beautiful, most colorful nautically themed fakemon I've ever seen in my life. Like, may I please use this as my avatar at some point in the future? Because it's just so uniquely emblematic of everything I love about colorful octopus I just cant this is just way too much more me.

rhapsodian_pixo March 3rd, 2015 1:20 PM

this is awesome.. can you do a back sprite for a M-Butterfree?? i wanna use for a project =)

xiechayghe November 25th, 2016 9:25 PM

No back sprites ?? :((((

Nina November 25th, 2016 10:59 PM

As beautiful as these are, this is past the thread revival date. I'll let the artist contact me if they want this reopened.
