Pokémon Spirit Emerald

Introduction

So this is my second Pokémon Emerald hack, which is slightly different from Pokémon Expert Emerald. I wanted to create a hack that didn't steer too much away from the original, yet incorporate newer features to make the game more entertaining and modernized. This game doesn't solely focus on difficulty like my previous hack, although there is an alternate difficulty patch for those who enjoy the challenge!

What this hack entails will be listed below with a detailed background around each new feature incorporated. I would like to say thank you to LCCoolJ95 for providing me with the essentials to create this hack, without him this probably wouldn't have been possible.

Features

The following features have been incorperated to this hack:

  • 494 Pokémon - Yes! All Pokémon right up until Generation IV can be obtained in this hack. So this includes all Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon. This also includes Sylveon as the 494th available Pokémon.
  • New Moves - Over 100 new moves from Gen IV-Gen VI has been added to the game. A full list will be provided with the download
  • Fairy Type ~ Fairy-type is now present in the game, this replaces the "???" Type.
  • Physical/Special Split ~ Moves are now split into Physical, Special or Status category.
  • Re-usable TMs ~ All TMs are now reusable just as they are in Generation V.
  • Stat Changes ~ Some minor to moderate stat changes have been made to Pokémon with lower base stat totals.
  • Events ~ All legendaries can be caught by triggering an event which enables a one-off battle. These will be scattered around Hoenn with some being accesialbe before battling the Elite Four!
  • Movesets ~ The movesets of each individual Pokémon have been updated to their level-up moves in Generation IV, V & VI.
  • Alternate patches ~ There are two alternate patches to play with. The original patch just has a moderate difficulty but nothing too drastic with a comfortable level curve. The challenge patch on the other hand offers a more difficult approach, not much different to the vanilla patch with the exception of difficulty. In this patch you will find that all bosses use stategical full teams with a steeper level curve overall.

There will be documentation to accomodate most of the new features and detailed lists of all new aspects to the game such as moves, evolutions, locations etc.

Screenshots

Just a selective few images of the many in-game changes!

Spoiler:

Special Thanks

  • LCCoolJ95 ~ Providing me with the essentials to create this hack
  • Karatekid552 ~ For his tutorials and awesome Gen 3 Hacking Suite tool
  • Chaos Rush ~ For his tutorials and DS-style sprite project
  • Tlachtli ~ For his Physical/Special/Status icons
  • Jambo51 ~ For his very useful Trainer Editor tool
  • Aruaruu ~ For helping me with the flags to activate the Event Items
  • Pia Carrot ~ For the information on editing the Double Battle with Steven

Bugs

  • The Pokédex entries may corrupt in which they are shifted half way across the page
  • The newly added Pokémon have yet to have their description edited, this is due to the text corruption issue
  • Castform no longer has the "Forecast" ability as the sprites became sorta glitchy in the process of adding newer sprites. It gains the ability "Speed Boost"
  • Picking up the Elemental Stones (particularly Fire Stone) before receiving the PokéNav will prevent you from receiving the PokéNav all together.
  • Kakuna & Metapod may learn some unusual moves

Change Log

Spoiler:

Beta 1.2 Release - 11/11/2014
Fixed the black screen glitch upon battling the Team Aqua Grunt in Rusturf Tunnel
Hammer Arm now lowers speed rather than using up a turn
ElectroWeb now has a different animation

Beta 1.13 Release - 06/11/2014
Fixed the issue regarding the Pokénav -- The Sinnoh starters have been relocated, their new locations can be found in the documentation
Added PokéBlock Case onto Route 121 to allow access to the Safari Zone
Increased the levels of Wild Pokémon at Jagged Pass
Moonblast, Play Rough and Magic Bounce are fixed and no longer cause the ROM to crash
*Note that with this release I have compiled both of the patches into one file rather than having two seperate downloads.

Beta 1.1 Release - 04/11/2014
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Omanyte, Kabuto, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Lileep, Anorith, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Shieldon and Cranidos have a higher capture rate of 90.
Increased the levels of wild Pokémon in the Challenge patch to accomodate the increased level curve
Fixed Wallys rematch levels for Challenge Patch
Some Pokémon will now be holding useful stat-enhancing items such as Charcoal, NeverMeltIce, Heart Scale etc. This varies depending on the patch you are using
Added a list of all the added moves
Hopefully fixed the issue which prevented you from receiving the PokéNav.

Nice :-) It Finally Came With A Bang x] You Made Hells Of Changes Since Expert Emerald. Your One Of The Coolest Pal.

I Have A Question, Will You Make A Pokemon Fire Red Generations 2.0 Too? :-D Regardless When, Just Wanna Know -_-

Edit: I Notice The Move Description Of Close Combat Is The Same As... I Think Its Double Edge. Is That Intentional Because Of The Limited Space Of Descriptions?

swoobat123 November 3rd, 2014 2:15 AM

Nice hack! I really like it :) this hack is complete ?

Anvils Alive November 3rd, 2014 4:09 AM

Ho ho, very excite. I'll be snapping this up like a salmon in a bear's jaws.http://z5.ifrm.com/5908/85/0/e5022552/e5022552.gif

SkorXX November 3rd, 2014 4:39 AM

This looks awesome! I wanna try it too, and I tried Expert Emerald and Its cool! I had Farfetched, Gardevoir, Blaziken, Swellow, Grumpig and Roserade!

LCCoolJ95 November 3rd, 2014 5:09 AM

Wow, this looks very nice. You did a splendid job with my patch. Maybe, in the future, I'll make Emerald with over 600 Pokémon ;)

Jyohomson November 3rd, 2014 5:57 AM

Does this have any new abilities?

devilliers_steyn November 3rd, 2014 6:18 AM

i like this game! BAZINGA!

Sickalex1743 November 3rd, 2014 7:11 AM

Great to see another hack by you Hoenn and the best part is that it is another Emerald one.
Go to play it as soon as i can.

Drewko November 3rd, 2014 8:38 AM

Minor (imho) bug: wild Sinnoh Pokemons always hold a random item. Mostly ????????s but Turtwig hold RM.6 Key.

Thanks for this. I think I have a good idea as to why this happens. I'll fix it later as I'm already planning a couple of changes to the patches.

Not right now, but it's definitely something I'd look into for future updates.

Yes. Aside a few minor changes and fixes that need to be made the game is pretty much complete. n_n

Drewko November 3rd, 2014 9:34 AM

Major Bug: After (partly skipped, dunno why) cutscene in Devon Corp. I don't obtains PokeNav, Brendan don't waits in Rustboro and there is no Briney in his house.

Same bug. I'm playing the challenge version, if that matters. At first I thought maybe you'd just removed the PokeNav, and I missed that detail in the OP. But there actually isn't anyway to progress.

Other than that. Enjoyable hack so far.

Drewko November 3rd, 2014 9:52 AM

Well, i'm playing normal mode.

InfectedCandid November 3rd, 2014 12:28 PM

I've got the same issue as the above, except I'm not playing in challenge. Once I got through the Devon corp stuff, I can't continue. I'll stalk the thread probably to see if it's fixed though, since I really did enjoy what I had played so far!

nemesish November 3rd, 2014 2:59 PM

Lots of Rotoms: Good
No friendship evolutions: I really liked that kind of challenge.

As for Scizor or the other pokemon who evolve with a held item, a Link Stone (as in other games) could have been useful, also useable-as-stones Magmarizer, Electrizer and Porygon's Upgrade and Dubious Disk.

I really like what you done on this hack, as it's a very good alternative to Emerald Omega.
Keep it up!

blue November 3rd, 2014 4:49 PM

Right so after a lot of searching, I've hopefully found the source of the glitch that prevents you from receiving the Pokenav and progressing with the storyline. I've also made a couple of other alterations to the new release. See Change Log for Beta 1.1 changes and details.

If you've already downloaded the patch and started, then unfortunately you'll have to use the new patch over a clean ROM in order for the changes to be made. Luckily there wasn't much progress to be made after Rustboro anyway due to the glitch. Any issues or if the same glitch persists please let me know via VM/PM.

Thanks. n_n

Benedict87 November 3rd, 2014 8:02 PM

Awesome Hack. By the way, do you think you could add the features Black and White 2 Repel System and Running shoes work indoors in the next update?

sebo3d November 4th, 2014 3:08 AM

I downloaded 1.1 patch(normal Edition) and started all over again but it seems that i still can't progress due to Pokenav issue. After receiving a Great Ball, he just takes me to Devon Corporation Building and nothing else is happening.

Did you activate any of the events before this event? Anything like receiving the Old Rod, battling the Sinnoh starters or picking up any of the added items? I'm assuming the issue is to do with one of the events before this.

juane01 November 4th, 2014 7:20 AM

I can´t download it, it says Downloads currently unavailable , when it gonna be avaliable?

swoobat123 November 4th, 2014 7:53 AM

i use the sav file of the first beta and i can't get pokenav, then i restart new game in beta 1.1 i can't get it too :/

blue November 4th, 2014 8:44 AM

Download is currently unavailable as I'm fixing the issue which prevents receiving the Pokenav. Should be released later tonight.

sebo3d November 4th, 2014 9:37 AM

Yes i did activated every single(i think so anyway) new event. By that i mean i fought 3 Sinnoh Starters(Caught only Chimchar though) and i also Got Old Rod and picked up 2 evolutionary stones and a TM Return.

I'm pretty sure it to do with one of the starter scripts or item scripts. The TM, Old Rod and Egg scripts don't seem to effect it as far as I'm aware.

Anyway I've uploaded a new patch which hopefully should fix this, if not then it's only narrowing down the issue and I'll be closer to finding the source.

pokemonlover493 November 4th, 2014 12:30 PM

Good luck unglitching this hack, I'll play it when it is finished completely with everything last thing that needs to be done. I love your hacks.

LCCoolJ95 November 4th, 2014 1:04 PM

Well, I did a test of my Emerald 494 patch, and receiving the PokéNav is not an issue. It seems like a script has conflicted with another, causing the event to not happen. I just tested the event, however. I did not look into the actual ROM itself yet. I will when I have the time.

EDIT: I replayed Spirit Emerald, not touching ANY of the new events, and it worked fine. (Walk Through Wall glitch FTW)

I'll play the game regularly as well to see what happens.

Jyohomson November 4th, 2014 6:06 PM

Hmm, also, can you do a list of moves that have incomplete effects?
like Head Smash, that does not seem to do 1/2 recoil damage.
Or does it?

uberiffic November 4th, 2014 9:42 PM

I tried with the new patch and I still got the glitch where I didn't receive the pokenav :/ I chose torchic as my starter if it matters.

pokerin November 4th, 2014 10:09 PM

yeah i got the pokenav glitch too. also i noticed that swift is not working correctly, always deals only 1 damage if it doesnt miss.

nemesish November 4th, 2014 10:20 PM

It's the starters.
Got Return tm, the old rod and both eggs and got the Pokenav normally.
I don't think it's Chimchar since it's catchable when looking for Steven (AFTER getting the Nav)

Renton Thurston November 4th, 2014 10:39 PM

This is the perfect side hack to play right before ORAS release lol, seems like a great revamp of emerald however I do have a few questions. Did you add in new abilities for Pokemon? (i.e. Technician) and is the Battle Frontier enhanced in any way or does it remain the same?

LCCoolJ95 November 5th, 2014 8:07 AM

I just played through my game. It seems that all the Sinnoh starters have been removed, yet the glitch still happens...

Friend of Clefairy November 5th, 2014 10:10 AM

Hey, I patched the latest download to a clean Emerald rom and played through the game without activating any of the avoidable events you added (Old Rod, Return), receiving the eggs was unavoidable. This time I managed to receive the PokeNav and progress with no problems. I would've thought moving the Sinnoh starters helped, if there weren't so many reports of the bug since the latest patch. I'm now up to Norman, and I have a few things to report.

Kinda to be expected, and I'm sure you're aware, but a lot of the events seem to respawn. For instance the elemental stones, Bagon and most notably the Beldom egg, particularly annoying when revisiting the Trick House. But also, I noted on one occasion the Super Potion above Rustboro also respawned, even though that's not anything you added.

Jagged Pass seems to have unaltered encounters. I don't think this is intentional, but either way, it might be nice to bump the levels up a little to match the previous routes.

This was in my first attempt of playing the game, pre-PokeNav dilemma, but Stunky was holding one of those pesky ??????? items.

But so far, everything is quite enjoyable. The sprites are easy on the eyes, the only one that looks a little uncomfortable is Combee, being so close to the ground. But that's forgivable. I think this game has great replay value, I'm already anticipating my next playthrough. Hopefully I won't be on edge about the PokeNav, and things will be a little more polished, i'll let you know if I have anything to report. But you can breathe a sigh of relief that I haven't come across anything majorly catastrophic post-PokeNav.

Yeah it's either one of those, the bagon script or elemental stones. I've tested it out and it seems to work when activating the TM, Egg and Old Rod scripts. The Sinnoh starters have been moved to a later area around Slateport City.

TopBanter November 5th, 2014 10:27 AM

Looks like a great hack, can't wait to try it out.

swoobat123 November 5th, 2014 3:13 PM

i found a glitch that when my sylveon use moonblast the rom restart and i can't use it.
great hack btw :)

looneyman1 November 5th, 2014 10:18 PM

I liked Expert Emerald, it was a great change to the original. I could ever beat it though...I got stuck at Petalburg Gym because I absolutely suck at double battles, and Norman's pokemon were massively OP'd....However I like how this game looks, I'll have to keep an eye on it. I wish more people used emerald as a ROM base due to the need for the EV berries so I'm glad to see this.

classiccartoonsftw November 6th, 2014 10:02 AM

What's new in version 1.12? I'm asking this because you didn't update the changelog.

Really appreciate the feedback! The Pokenav was the main concern, but I think moving the Sinnoh starters to a later area after this event was the main solution. I've tested activating the Egg Scripts, Return and Old Rod and that doesn't seem to effect it at all which is good. The sprites can be repositioned when I find the time, and the Egg Scripts have actually been moved in a patch that I'm anticipating to release tonight or tomorrow. Jagged Pass was something I was completely unaware of so I'll get on editing that one, as for the rest it's good that you've reached about the half way point and there's no major game crashing bugs!

Edit

Released Beta 1.13 much quicker than I'd expected, hopefully the last release for a long time! No real major changes from the last release, now that the Pokénav Bug has been quashed it's focused on smaller updates. Download can now be found at the bottom of the thread as an attachment rather than a link. Both patches have been compressed into one file. Check change log for further details. n_n

Sceptile90 November 6th, 2014 1:19 PM

Wow Hoenn! You've outdone yourself! Now we just need an Emerald 721 hack

Edit: Also, how does the EXP Share work?

InfectedCandid November 6th, 2014 1:48 PM

I just want to clarify, is the PokeNav issue due to the elemental stones? I only ask because I'm using the newest patch, so things like Bagon aren't where they used to be, and I picked up Return, the Old Rod, and whatever items I found including the stones. However, I still didn't receive the PokeNav, so I'm just checking for confirmation. This is my third time so I just want to try and figure out what to skip past to get the PokeNav. XD

It could be one of the stones, but the Moon Stone and Water Stone have both been removed, the Fire Stone can be obtained after receiving cut on Route 116 and the Leaf Stone too, but I'd recommend picking that up AFTER trying to get the Pokénav. The Sinnoh starters have been moved around Dewford/Slateport area, and Bagon has been moved to the east side exit of the cave on Route 116. Let me know if the issue still persists, I wouldn't think it would assuming you just pick up the TM, Old Rod and Eggs.

meffij November 6th, 2014 2:23 PM

If I've gotten way past the Pokenav (5 gyms) in a 1.11 save, can I patch to 1.13 and use the same save, or should I start fresh?

Entirely upto you. You can check out the changelog from the first release to the current release and make a decision as to whether you want to update or not. The main purpose of the releases after 1.11 was to fix the Pokenav glitch but if you've already worked around that you should be good. A couple of the moves may make your ROM crash when used, but that's been fixed in the latest patch. Basically if you're going to update I'd make a back up copy of your current game just incase patching over messes it up.

InfectedCandid November 6th, 2014 2:56 PM

Alright, I didn't take any of the stones and I got the PokeNav! Thank you! <3

meffij November 6th, 2014 3:07 PM

So in general, we can use the same saves from patch to patch?

pokemonlover493 November 6th, 2014 8:29 PM

Ok there is a glitch when Marshtomp wants to learn Mud Bomb, the game freezes. It doesn't crash the game and I had already saved when it happened, so I was able to go around it. Just though you should know.

Anvils Alive November 7th, 2014 1:27 PM

Found a glitch, too - mine was on the right side of Route 103. When I pick up the item ball near the Ace Trainer and fisherman, the game just freezes outright.

Roaring Moon November 7th, 2014 3:40 PM

I found a few bugs, too (all in the challenge mode patch):
  • Wild Grotle can be found on Route 102.
  • Wild Lanturn can be found in the grass on Route 110.
  • Wild Groudon can be found on Route 121.
  • Metapod has Icicle Crash.
  • Kakuna has Gust, Hammer Arm, and Moonlight.
  • Hammer Arm's secondary effect is wrong. Instead of lowering the user's speed, it forces the user to recharge on the following turn (like Hyper Beam).
  • PokeFan Kaleb on Route 110 has a level 51 Starly.
  • If you encounter a trainer while surfing, their encounter music doesn't play (the surfing music keeps playing instead).
  • A major one: The game freezes if you look at the contest stats of any Pokémon with a Generation IV-VI move.

Also, the method to evolve Snorunt into Froslass isn't listed in the evolutions document.

Sceptile90 November 7th, 2014 3:51 PM

Is there any way that I can get the Pokemon Locations in a .txt file?

BlazingXArticuno November 7th, 2014 6:46 PM

Looks beautiful! Can't wait to give it a nice try.

Jyohomson November 7th, 2014 9:42 PM

Is azurill still a happiness evolution?

whatacyat November 8th, 2014 1:14 AM

I cant even look at Shiny Stone in my bag. The game just crashes instantly. Does anyone else have the same problem? I've tried repatching rom several times and it did not help.

sebo3d November 8th, 2014 5:44 AM

Some moves doesn't seem to work properly. My Cubone's Bone Club and Bonemerang deals less damage than Headbutt, even to electric and fire Types, i also noticed that those moves started to deal less damage when my opponent used moves such as Amnesia. Swift also seems to doesn't work properly as My lv 21 Electabuzz's Swift deal only 1 Damage to a Wild lv 17 Murkrow. So far that's all i found.

uberiffic November 8th, 2014 12:45 PM

I tried again and it worked when I didn't pick up the fire stone, but didn't work if I did pick it up. Do you think it would be safe to pick up the fire stone when I go back for the exp share?

Jim Swarm November 9th, 2014 2:48 AM

I found a game breaking bug:

Talking to battle Team Aqua grunt in Rusturf Tunnel will end up in a black screen after showing the Team Aqua logo.

Other than that, good work on this rom hack. I hope to see it in the top lists one day

This one definately has gotten my interest ... From earlier posts it has been mentioned that it's -mostly- complete ( or am I wrong ? ) also I'm feeling grateful that you have released two patches since I don't want to play a game with the difficulty of Expert emerald ( really tough...). Before playing I would like to ask something . If I remember correctly in Expert emerald we had to do some sort of editing in the game's memory (?) in order to activate the event tickets... Does this apply in this hack too ( I remember not being able to go to tge event isles in Expert emerald because I play through an android phone...) ? Or it is implemented in another way ? ( e.g. an npc that warps you there or something like that )

pikachuguy789 November 9th, 2014 6:48 AM

So I'm on Route 102, searching for Eevee. 40 Pokemon later, still no Eevee. Is this a glitch or am I just horribly unlucky?

Edit: I've been searching for over an hour now and I'm losing hope. Is Eevee even on Route 102? If not, someone needs to redo the location guide.

Yes Eevee is found on Route 102, it only has a 1% chance of appearing though.

--

I'm getting a black screen before fighting the Team Aqua grunt in Rustburo Tunnel, I've attempted it on both patches and both have the same result.

The legendary just before the Archie battle at Magma headquarters. (But, by resetting to get a good nature, it can hold also an Oran Berry)

Other than that, good work on this rom hack. I hope to see it in the top lists one day

I have same problem. Black screen every time i try to fight team aqua in Rusturf Tunnel

Jyohomson November 10th, 2014 5:19 AM

I got the black screen too

TopBanter November 10th, 2014 8:25 AM

Maybe the black screen only happens with version 1.13? The previous one didn't have this problem.

John8547 November 10th, 2014 7:49 PM

Playing Challenge Mode v. 1.13 and my game freezes whenever I talk to the grunt in the Wingull event.

The problem consists with every emulator I've used on Android.

nemesish November 11th, 2014 9:06 AM

The document says M2 and Regigigas are at the frontier (Artisan Cave and Egg event respectively).
But when I went to the cave, there was no M2 event and I can't seem to find the Regigigas event.

jstolze November 11th, 2014 11:11 AM

Hey I love this hack, but how do I obtain the National Dex? Or is it not given at the start of the game?

Also, I ran into a black screen trying to battle the Team Aqua grunt in Whismur cave (or whatever it's called) right after the first gym battle. I cannot progress with the storyline either.

Beat the E4 and after the credits, Prof. Birch will upgrade your Dex.

Fixed the black screen issue with the Aqua Grunt in Rusturf Tunnel. Download Beta 1.2 to fix this, hopefully it's a matter of loading an earlier save state and redoing the event rather than restarting the whole file.

Talk to this guy to receive the Regigigas Egg:

As for Mewtwo, try downloading the latest patch and checking the second floor of Artisan Cave.

Aside from the occasional release which covers bug fixes or small additions, this hack is pretty much complete. Both patches are included in the one download, so you can choose freely which version to play! And the Event Tickets can be received at the Battle Frontier and will activate as normal once using them at the Harbour.

nemesish November 11th, 2014 1:34 PM

^Thanks. Gotta try to get M2 with the 1.2 patch (Was playing 1.13).
And if that doesn't work, looks like I'll have to use the one i traded from other game.

EDIT: Got Mewtwo, but the Regigigas guy is not there.

Perriechu November 11th, 2014 2:25 PM

Okay so the new patch allowed me to complete the Aqua event, but now I'm having the PokeNav problem...

The PokeNav issue shouldn't occur unless you picked up one of the Elemental Stones before the event. Did you load from a save state or start a new file since downloading?

I had to start over, and I picked up the fire stone..

John8547 November 11th, 2014 7:40 PM

So I patched v. 1.2 over it, loaded my save state in my emulator (the save file was corrupted), successfully battled the grunt, encountered a ton more glitches, such as not being able to leave the tunnel, created a save state, renamed my backup of v. 1.13 back to its original name, making 1.2 the backup, loaded the save state, and everything's fine. lol
Thanks!

I think when I did this, it didn't patch 1.2 correctly, which probably led to the malfunctions.
Anyways... starting over with 1.2, hoping it works. lol

John8547 November 11th, 2014 8:02 PM

It's been quite a while since I've played the vanilla games. However, after the grunt battle, him and the Wingull just disappeared. After that, I reverted back to v. 1.13 because I couldn't exit the tunnel or anything. Afterwards, there was no sight of Mr. Britney. I just walked back to Rustboro City and spoke to Davon. We teleported to the building, and their texts skipped to Davon telling me to go to Slateport and the old guy telling me good luck. I went to Mr. Briney's Cottage and he's not there. :/

Whoomay November 12th, 2014 5:20 AM

This seems to be flipping awesome! Even better than Expert Emerald ur flipping awesome dude!

Kbee38 November 12th, 2014 5:23 AM

Hmm... Are you sure physical/special split is perfect? Sword dance doesn't make physical moves stronger.

No it is in its beta stage! :)

jstolze November 12th, 2014 6:15 AM

Found a glitch that causes the game to freeze. One of the item balls on Route 103 causes the game to crash. Just pressing "A" on the ball causes it to happen. (It's located near the very end of that long stretch of trainers, near the water) Was this supposed to be a PKMN or just an item? And the special/physical split seems... off somehow. Also, Swift and Hyper Beam both do 1 damage every time it's used. I think since they're both normal type Special moves, this may be the case, again, it has to do with P/S Split that's screwed up.

Edit: I figured out that all moves are treated as Special moves, meaning only Sp.Atk is applied when doing damage. I noticed that a burn had no effect on lowering the damage of Rock Tomb. For those of you who don't know, a Burn status lowers your Physical attack by 50%. I remember this same thing happened to one of the Liquid Crystal betas. Maybe ask L&Z?

VJR2 November 13th, 2014 11:24 AM

Hey, where's eevee? I've read the spawn guide and i've looking something like half an hour in route 102 and it doesn't freaking appear :(

uberiffic November 13th, 2014 2:18 PM

Eevee is really rare. It only has like a 1-2% chance of appearing.

tudou November 13th, 2014 2:24 PM

I have been playing the challenge mode, and I have found a few glitches...
a. Brawly's Makuhita spammed Bulk Up: however, the amount of damage I was doing with Peck wasn't decreased, and the amount of damage it did with a Vital Throw after 4 boosts was probably about the same power as a regular Vital Throw.
b. Flame Charge increases Attack instead of speed.
c. As noted above, burn doesn't lower attack.
d. Going to my Larvitar's summary and going to its moves crashed the game :( . The Normal-typing symbol for Retaliate was upside-down and grey. It was fine while I taught Retaliate, and my other Pokemon have safe summaries, as they know no new moves. This makes me believe the new moves may cause this glitch.

That's what I could find, as I am currently at the route north of Slateport.

pokemonmastertriplex November 13th, 2014 8:24 PM

Why does this hack have to be UPS?? i'm having trouble patching it, it won't let me. And i can't find a download of this that is already patched.

Drewko November 13th, 2014 11:03 PM

I always have similiar problems.
Try using Tsukuyomi UPS patcher instead of NUPS.
Just remember to use "Apply Patch to a new file" option and check "Bypass Checksum Validation" box.

I'll try, i hope it works, cause i am excited to play this.

pokemonmastertriplex November 14th, 2014 1:19 PM

Can you please make these roms IPS or GBA instead? i am having too much trouble with UPS.

Renton Thurston November 14th, 2014 2:18 PM

Did you program Mudkip to only get the damp ability? Cause that's all I'm getting for my starter...

Pearlone November 14th, 2014 4:44 PM

Not sure if you increased the chances of getting shinies, but either way I got a SHINY NATU in my nuzlocke walkthrough of your game!! Keep it up!

ALSO
When/Where do you find the very first Dawn Stone?!! Someone please let me know!

Gary10 November 15th, 2014 8:28 AM

Hi! I have a problem concerning the Rusturf Tunnel Grunt. When I defeat him and I go to speak to the Devon Man, he takes me to the Mr.Stone's room as usual, but he only says that I should go to Slateport to deliver the Devon Goods. Also, Mr.Briney (I think that was his name) isn't in his house. Can you help me?

Anvils Alive November 15th, 2014 9:49 AM

@Gary10: That was in a previous version. It's fixed now, unless you applied the patch to a modified Emerald ROM.

Gary10 November 15th, 2014 10:06 AM

@Anvils Alive, The ROM was not modified and the version is 1.2, that came out few days ago, so I don't think that's the problem.

Perriechu November 15th, 2014 12:06 PM

A lot of the new moves and new Pokemon in the game are very underpowered. Bulldoze from a level 42 Donphan is barely doing anything to Pokemon it's super effective against and Pokemon with crap defense like Carvanha. Also Staraptor is doing nothing with Aerial Ace/Wing Attack. Something's weird with them all. Are you sure gave them all the correct base stats and the new moves the correct power? As well as changing moves from special to physical and vise versa because my Sceptile's Leaf Blade isn't doing much to Chanseys and a Wailord that used Amnesia...

As I, and others have mentioned: The Physical/Special Split isn't implemented correctly. The reason Chansey is taking little damage is because before gen 4, Leaf Blade was considered a special based move, and Chansey's Sp.Def is higher than Manaphy's, plus it has outrageous amounts of HP.
