I wonder if Caitlyn will return since she is part of the Unova Elite Four now. That could be one of the reasons the whole BF isn't coming back.

If ORAS were to follow the timeline as RSE, Caitlyn will probably still be in the Battle Frontier because the PtHGSS storyline (which is 2 years after RSE) is supposed to happen before BW/2 when she became an E4 member.

Though I won't want to see those old faces if the Battle Frontier is a reality. I want Emerald faces.

Unless of course the Battle Institute is in Mauville, which in that case I'm stumped as hell.

What do you mean? The Battle Tower gave out BP in the original RS. Also the Battle Frontier in Emerald did too...they could just make the island bigger and more like a resort. Btw apparently the island is out of the calling area...at least when calling Scott, so the original island could fit that anyways xD.

This. In Emerald, it was pretty easy to hax back but doing it in ORAS might be a lot harder.

The island that its in RSE is on map here, and there is nothing there.

Anyway, major ****storm this way comes. Battle Maison found with a 2nd Daycare apparently by a reviewer, and NPCs apparently imply that the frontier is being built. Day 1 Patch for ultimate surprise?

Maybe they are building the frontier on the island but won't show it on the map until later?
Not surprised about the Battle Maison reappearing tbh. Also it'll be an Update or DLC, Patches are meant to fix issues. The idea of a update/DLC upon release seems like a good idea to me, some companies ship out broken games (on purpose to hurt those who pirate or get the street date broken one), this could be GF's version, but nicer.

Mark Kamill November 18th, 2014 7:51 AM

Update/DLC/Patch, same thing. I can only assume a DLC would update the version number, making it mandatory to play online, thus not locking users out. I can only assume what would be the new Battle Resort would also be pretty big for them to have us download, maybe they also will throw in some new Megas all over Hoenn? I seriously am considering the idea that the leaks forced their hands in using Day 1 updates to make sure nothing gets spoiled.

Looks Like The Battle Frontier Won't Be Back In ORAS :( Could Be DLC

Oh dear here we go, a reviewer who managed to get his hand on a review copy of the games from Nintendo tweeted earlier that there will be no Battle Frontier in ORAS, the Battle Maison and a second Day Care Center are there but the in game NPC's do mention the Battle Frontier as if it could still come, which could mean we may see it as DLC..... This is by no means confirmed but with only 3 days left until the games come out I'm sure we would have heard something by now, coupled with the fact he had to delete the tweet too. Well this is one feature I really hoped we would see again obviously I'm dissapointed, but I like the idea of it maybe being DLC it could help expand the games life-cycle, oh I dunno, you guys decide.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am... the Battle Frontier is one of my all-time favourite features of Pokémon.

I'm also kind of disappointed with the lack of Battle Tower. I know that ORAS is pretty much XY, but with different graphics and models, but at least put some more homage to the originals. :< Eh, I hope the post-game is worth something, at least.

I'm with you on that, but it could still be DLC, I hope.....

Hikamaru November 19th, 2014 3:44 AM

But I thought downloadable content wasn't going to be a thing? Still, I can express how disappointed some people were but let's just remember it was initially an Emerald-only feature and wasn't exactly in Ruby & Sapphire, which these remakes seem to follow more closely than Emerald.

Polar Spectrum November 19th, 2014 3:58 AM

As long as it has more endgame than X/Y, I can get over this - sad as it is.

The IGN Review (aka the one which said "too much water") did say there was a good amount of postgame stuff so there might still be hope that what they are saying are true.

Princess Diana November 19th, 2014 4:30 AM

That's really disappointing, especially considering they made a whole anime series revolving around it. :( Hoenn's Battle Frontier has been the best. The one's that came after were just pale imitations. :(

I pray there is DLC (hopefully not day 1 though, maybe a few weeks after the European release/just before Christmas!) that includes it

UnchainedGoku November 19th, 2014 4:55 AM

If true though the Battle Frontier DLC would be the first ever Pokemon DLC what do you guys think of that?

Hoenn haters be mad lol I hated that review, people still stuck on Hoenn has too much water after 10 years, I think the water is what makes Hoenn special, I do agree that wild water battles could use some work with the variety and all 100 Tentacools in a row does get annoying and the HM system needs work too but still a 7.8/10? Pokemon is still a better game than most of the drivel released these days.

Pendraflare November 19th, 2014 5:09 AM

I thought it was established a while ago that the Battle Resort was what would be present... Why did people still think the Battle Frontier was going to be in the game? Did they just forget about that? :/ As i've mentioned, hopefully the Resort will have more to it. *cough Triple and Rotation Battles cough*

And two Day-Care centers?! Wow, that's something else.

Megan November 19th, 2014 8:17 AM

You can't just put every good feature into only one game. I mean who would buy the next games (you know, these games that come out next year :P) if all the wanted features are already in the older games (in this case ORAS) included?[/sarcasm]

But it is kinda funny how people already found something they can complain about, even though the games aren't even released, yet.

ShadowEdge November 19th, 2014 8:44 AM

I wouldn't be surprised if DLC is a thing for this game then again I'm going with my theory that BF will be added as the days progress. Sort of like how the demo is, you know what with Stevens house.

cmtthws92 November 19th, 2014 9:39 AM

It was already confirmed the Battle Frontier wasn't coming back. That's why we have the Battle Resort.

Could the Frontier be DLC? I highly doubt so.

MarinoKadame November 19th, 2014 9:53 AM

So other than Rayquaza Delta Episode and the mirage spots, what is the post game ? Another kind of similar kiloude city with a second daycare and battle resort which seems to be some kind of battle Maison thing like in Kiloude. It's almost no different than XY post game even if you can capture other old legendaries in mirage spots if it's what I think Battle Resort is.

isael-21 November 19th, 2014 10:37 AM

Nooo! I was expecting it for real this time. I didn't even care to take the challenge in the originals.

T_T

RedJ November 19th, 2014 10:47 AM

Never cared for the Frontier so I'm not particularly upset over this (assuming it's even true), but I do find it odd that it would be mentioned but not actually show up in the games...unless it was mentioned in the original R/S, in which case I guess that would make sense.

Not sure what else you were expecting outside of more (or most in this case) legendaries, some sort of battle facility (which IS what the Maison is, assuming it's in the game in the first place and this isn't a "leaker" messing with people as tends to happen and considering we don't know anything about this one I think it's a bit soon to be passing judgement on it regardless), and maybe a post game story of some sort and Gym Leader/Elite Four rematches (which if the demo dump is anything to go by, at least Elite Four rematches have been confirmed)...which, you know, is basically what every Pokemon post game ever is.

Corvus of the Black Night November 19th, 2014 10:51 AM

Oh jeez I hope it's DLC. I still firmly believe that Emerald's Battle Frontier was the best of its contemporaries. 7 awesome ways to play.

blue November 19th, 2014 11:20 AM

I wouldn't rule it out as of yet, remember reviewers have an embargo as to the amount of content they're allowed to reveal.

" I can't be specific about the incredibly exciting things that happen once you beat the game. " - Kotaku.

Even if they're not initially in game, there are plenty of other ways that the BF could be implemented in the game at a later date with Day One release patches or DLC.
