Hack Of: Pokemon Fire Red

Story: You are a 10 year old boy/girl who had just moved out of Johto yesterday.
You wake up in your bed and Barely watch an article about dad's new job as a gym leader.
you go and see your new next-door neighbor and step out of the town to see that Prof. Birch is in danger, from there it all begins....

The hero/neighbor: When he is a rival he's not very competitive and has other goals to pursue than training pokemon, yet he is a very skilled trainer who actually poses a threat to you, he will accompny you in the journey and will act as a rival at first and as a friend at last, wally is a better trainer than him but he dosen't really pay attention to that.

Yes, it is basically Barney from How I Met Your Mother but he has a serious role in the game, as Barney Stone: The younger brother of Steven. he is building the Battle frontier in Johto and tests Hoenn trainers' skills to see who is qualified for the challenge, Barney is incredibly Hyped and enthusiastic at nature, he is the complete opposite of his brother Steven and is an Expert in Electric and Dragon type pokemon and is considered to be an Elite Trainer in the Hoenn region.

The ex-champion of Hoenn. you firstly see him because of an errand Mr. Stone requested you to do. From then he is wathcing you throughout your journey, He specilaises Rock&Steel type Pokemon and is very cold-hearted and solid at nature,unlike His adamant and hyped brother Barney.

Well since this game co-happens with Pokemon Red i wanna introduce a form of Team Rocket people haven't saw, basically Team Rocket is a crime orginazation that formed by Giovanni after the Kanto War and includes many army veterans that joined cause their life lost all meanings after the war, this orginazation is after money. they are incredibly powerful and are girdded around Japan. (hence Unova and Kalos don't have rocket agents.), well the grunts seek cash and control but Giovanni actually wants to save the world after his mistake in 1996: Mewtwo, and the only way to stop mewtwo is incredible power/the masterball. team rocket only appears mid-game with minor appearences. they are much more promiminet in the Post-Game and boast a major challenge to the player.

The Hero's Dad. he is the 5th gym leader that resides in Petalburg City. he used to be a gym leader in Goldenrod City but was moved to Hoenn after Whitney took his place. He holds a deep grudge for her.

1. Where are we on the pokemon timeline:
Actually the game starts while red is already in Pewter city, that gave Birch little time to develop a quick port of Oak's pokedex system to fit with the Pokemon that inhabit the Hoenn region.
The Silph Co's failed invasion by Team Rocket is happening when Brendan had already recived the 5th badge... The rocket agents across Japan will respond to Giovanni's call by that time so watch out for the Rockets

2. Some things will be different, i'm planning on adding a few Team Aqua/Magma event's and little side things to do in dead game times (EX: Between the 4th to 5th badge or the 1st to 2nd..)

The hg ss graphics look phenomenal, you seem to be missing the little ends of the sides of your trees when they're overlapping another object (like, you forget to put the little leaves on the sides of the tree when the tree is right next to another tree).

I would like to see some scripts in action however, since it seems like you have only started on the mapping part. That, and an expanded story would be nice as well. So far it's nearly identical to the R/S/E versions and with the remakes over the horizon, you're gonna be pressed extra hard to make your hack different from the official games.

I've fixed that, and the screens are updated, before OWs were changed to 32x32 and before animations were made
Don't worry the story wil of course resemble emerald but will have some major changes..
And I don't know scripting, hence i'm recruiting people...

This looks visually nice unlike a certain remake which is being released soon, I see it's going to be slightly more open pokemon wise because it's having gens 1-6. But can't wait to see the end product. Looks and seems like a 10/10 at the moment :).

In the postgame mate.... Maybe i'll add a second batch of starters like in XY but idk i wanna keep a stable number of pkmn so the game will be realistic and that all pokemo will fit in the Hoenn Climate.

Um...a emerald game hack built on fire red??? That makes no sense. Especially since there's no EV berries to use in any current fire red tool kit.

The problem is that the only other way to get pokemon properly EV trained is by breeding them, and Fire Red predates the methods imlimented in emerald to make it less of a hassle, especially since breeding could only be done post game. The EV berries reduced EVs by ten points and aised happiness, thus cutting out the unecessary requirement to redo your team from scratch. Before then the berries that emerald had since used to create the EV berries had no use other than to make pokeblock. ev berries are in the game!!! when i said it's gonna be extremely hard i meant the contests... The Hoenn E4 is one of the easiest in pokemon history... If you need ev training for everything you're not a real trainer.

Small tile errors I noticed:

Don't use the X/Y flip for the ledges, the shading doesn't look good at all mirrored. If you can find another ledge tile for the other direction, use it instead.

On the bottom part, the corner tiles of the rock tile don't connect to the other part of the rock properly.

Not sure if these have already been fixed, but I thought I'd mention them anyways. :) Good luck with everything.

They'll obviously be downloads for GBA emulators since it's a GBA hack... :|

And it'll be complete if everyone on the teams does what they're suppose to. And it comes out whenever it does...

I keep it 300 cause i don't want the player to be bloated with pokemon...
Also i picked each and every pkmn in the game based on how it fits in the hoenn terrain...
As of an example: all safari exstension pokemon are in the regional dex since they are actually in Hoenn.

Well Blackstorm, we are near the 1st alpha... almost all mapping is done and i'm near finishing the OW's, after you insert the pokemon our scripter will insert his scripts in.

A little heads up, over time and the hack's development i'll be putting clues about my identity inside. one of the legendary pokemon in the postgame will be exposed only to ones who solve the riddle... more info about this will be revealed over time of development. and Pre announcing that Alpha 1 will be till after the pokemon capture tutorial in Petalburg City and will be released somewhere in January 2015!

Well looker will be postgame, i hate Scott and he's replaced with Barney, Juan will be in.. His OW's are even ready...
Drew&Harley are anime and have no relation to the games, Zinnia is ORAS and i'm not making ORAS. Cynthia in her Journey's end when you start the game and she acts as champion of Sinnoh. Lisia And Aarune are also ORAS, IDK Who's Kelly.

Hi there guys! long time no updates, but bare with me on this, the alpha release is coming up pretty good and i'm sure that a release will be in January 2015, it'll go up till route 104.

But alpha 2 (TBD) Will be up to Slateport City. Thank You everyone for your support and for my Great Team Members for contributing to this project, i've worked on this ever since i've started hacking and i'm positive that i could finish this.

anyways, all of the houses are mapped, here's an example:

Everything looks good in this hack i love the mapping and the tiles have a unique look to them which i havent seen the same type of graphics in other hacks i hope this will be completed

I must say, this looks pretty good there's a few graphical improvements that can be done here and there.

Some of your trees are cut off at the side, etc.
Sort em out, and this hack will look even better! <3

I really like the graphic style you chosen, but I'm not too much into May's backsprite, her OW is gorgeous tho', maybe the backsprite could be something like this?

You should fix Budew's position with the Position Editor of Advanced Series xD
The screens looks awesome, i love those tiles and the OWs, they look so nice at the sight <3

Why I never give a comment to your hack?

The graphics looks good, I like the tiles of the forest, and the battle BG is amazing (You know Why I say this e.e)

The only bad thing is the map, have some map bugs, but for these things the words not are the best, I show your mapping bugs in a pic.

I'm gonna go through over those and make some new blocks... Even though the grass are a bit of a problem that's my first incrarnation of the map..

Yes as listed in the thread, i'll need to write a regional dex in C (idk C) and in the alpha you'll be given a national dex. Anyways pre-game has 300 PKMN, Post game will include 350/300 more and compatibility with all hacks that have 721 pkmn is in.

Check the forums for hacks that include 721 pokemon (PKMN gaia) for example.
But my plan is to allow trading outside of the Hoenn Dex only after the Post-game.

Depending on if they'll be implemented into gen III. I have free slots for them but I want a good way in implenting them so they won't be too OP.

Hi guys little update over here, I'm currently on vacation so I can't show screens. But my partner NICKSID14 is making the scripts and we'll release the alpha next week. Make sure that you go through the cut trees in petalburg woods.

Actually I do the testing. And you'll be able to go until Petalburg Woods but the exit to the north route 104 is blocked. There'll be a secret event in Petalburg Woods

in the following pics you can see some new textboxes!!! Some of them come straightly from HGSS, some will be fusions of FRLG Boxes in HGSS style and some will be my custom ones.

On another note. my scripter for the game (NICKSID14) hadn't answered my messages for the last few weeks and i really need a scripter to make this game go on until I learn how to script myself. so if you wanna script for AE, Send me a PM!!!

Also i can confirm that Lorekeeper Zinnia will play A role in Pokemon Aerial Emerald, i'll not tell the role but she'll appear at the end of the Pre-Game and throuoght the Post-Game.

I think my favorite part about the update is surviving poisonings. That feature'll come in handy, even if it may not happen often.

This is a grove in Petalburg Woods that was burnt down by Team Magma last year to inhabit more Fire,Ground and Poison types (their key types) in Hoenn, Pokemon Like Houndour,Skorupi,Larvesta,Numel and Koffing reside in this woods, when you enter the grove after the 1st badge, two magma grunts and Courtney who operates the base appear, they congratulate you for defeating that Aqua Grunt in Rusturf Tunnel and demands the Devon Goods, you decline to give it and challenge 1st the 2 grunts to a double battle and then Magma Executive Courtney, i wanted this to introduce the event as a walk through walls secret in the alpha but it seems that i won't make a release soon due to the absence of a Scripter...

nice up-grade features from BW2 and X & Y. by the way, i wonder that, is the story of this hack exactly the same with the original Pokemon Emerald one? or you have your own original story for this?

This is the Emerald Story with my enchantments and changes... Also many side stories and a whole new post game, there will be new characters, like Barney who's replacing Scott...

Hi there guys, I'm sorry to say that but i want this hack to go on hiatus for a while, my ROM is pretty messed up and i wanna start over (exepct for the mapping) because there are many corrupted things and i can't really progress without a scripter/or until i'd know scripting. so i want a mod to close my thread and i hope i'll get back on this, i won't abbadon the hack cause i have gained progress with the sprites and graphics over time (it's not visible but i have almost all of the special sprites done.) so i'd like to thank everyone who supported me and had faith along this project, i'll be back as soon as things work out.
