Travel Journal
UPDATE 1/6/2017: THIS THREAD CAN BE USED FOR DISCUSSING BOTH ORAS AND XY TRAVELS!
Much like the Kalos Travel Journal and the Unova Travel Journal, this thread is for everyone to record and share their journey in the updated version of Hoenn. General Thread Rules: -This is NOT a place to ask questions about the games. Questions go in this thread here. -Team Help threads go in the Battling and Team-Building section. Trades go in the Trade Corner. -No Youtube videos. -Discussions can go in their own threads. etc So have fun telling us about your experiences in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire! |
Started the game at 11 am (Sapphire version).
Trainer Name: Roland Pokemon: Mudkip Lv 15, Dustox Lv 11, Skitty Lv 10 Currently exploring and training and looking forward to new surprises (walk slowly to catch a pokemon is a new one; especially when they have moves like fire fang, etc). Trained for the 1st gym and later today I will face off on the 1st gym leader. |
Started the game last night. Named my character RedJ, chose Mudkip as my starter, and now I'm currently in Petalburg Woods looking for an HA Shroomish. My Pokemon are starting to disobey me so hopefully it wont take too much longer. Also got the EXP Share and immediately turned it off.
Current Team: Spoiler:
|
I started the game at around noon today (SO EXCITED)
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/treecko.gif In my first (official) trip to Hoenn, I named my character LeAnn (sort of a combination of my nicknames, Lynn and Ann, sort of, but not really. That and I really like the name :)) I chose Treecko as my starter, and named him Midas (not sure why, maybe cause i just think Sceptile looks Regal) Haven't done much yet, still getting into the game, but it's pretty awesome so far :) UPDATE: Just received my shiny Beldum and I'm planning on putting him to good use. While I can't nickname him, I think I'll call him 'Gladiator' just cause he's such a beast http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados-shiny/beldum.gif |
Started my Ruby game at around 11:30pm (PST) last night, after an agonizing 2 hours of downloading time!
Named my character Zed, after my only other male character I played in Emerald. Picked Treecko as my starter and nicknamed him Brigan after a character from one of my favourite book series. Currently at 6 and a half hours of game time (I had to sleep, unfortunately. xD) and have currently just left Slateport to make my way to Mauville. My current team is as follows: http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/grovyle.gif Brigan | m | lvl. 20 Pound / Fury Cutter / Mega Drain / Quick Attack http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/skitty.gif Katsa | f | lvl. 19 Disarming Voice / Double Slap / Attract / Sing http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/surskit.gif Bitterblue | f | lvl. 19 Signal Beam / Quick Attack / Bubble Beam / Water Sport http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/poochyena.gif Fyre | f | lvl. 17 Thunder Fang / Howl / Sand Attack / Bite http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/ralts.gif Po | m | lvl. 17 Disarming Voice / Confusion / Double Team / Magical Leaf |
So I beat the Gym leader after I did a bit of wonder trading (Heck YES)
New Team: Marshtomp Lv 17 Roucool (Pidgey) Lv 9 *Wonder traded for my Dustox* Croagunk Lv 11 * wonder traded for my Skitty* Fayana (Fennekin) Lv 5 *wonder traded my surskit* Onward to defeat the goon in the cavern and then to the Boatman to the 2nd gym. But training my team up for a bit. |
I was able to go to one of the midnight releases of ORAS and it was a lot of fun!
I picked out Omega Ruby cuz my friend is getting Alpha Sapphire. Let's see, so far my team is: http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/combusken-f.gif - Fuega the Combusken http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/taillow.gif - Soara the Taillow http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/shroomish.gif - MushiMushi the Shroomish Currently, I am walking around Slateport City having delivered the "goods" to Capt. Stern. :) |
Well, I got the game yesterday and have been playing it since I got it. I have started out picking may, named Kimmy, and picked treeko. I got my shiny beldum and first 3 badges. Now, before I go to work, I have almost made it to lavaridge town. I've been training up and what not.
My current team is: Grovyle (tamriel) lvl 31 Mightyenna (bear) lvl 31 Event shiny beldum lvl 31 Begon [from X version/sat in bank] lvl 21 Zigzagoon lvl 16 (using as hm slave) [I have been thinking of usin my legally bred beldum from X, but decided to leave it in the bank for now. Might train it after league] |
Began playing at 5PM EST. Loving this game so far.
Picked up Torchic, and keeping true to the DexNav encouragement by catching all the Pokemon I encounter. I love the small ways this game rewards you for completing an area. Decided to keep training Ralts, for nostalgia's sake. Currently getting through Petalburg Woods. Also just picked up my Shiny Beldum mystery gift. Torchic @ Lv13 Ralts @ Lv5 Beldum @ Lv5 |
So I got the games, and picked up Omega Ruby to use as my main one. I chose Mudkip and named it Slippers, then went to Route 103 and beat May's Treecko there. I caught a few Pokémon on Route 102, including a Ralts that I found in hiding, which I caught and named Purity. After getting a Taillow on Route 104 named Codswalloo (meant to name Codswallop, but I accidentally hit o twice), and in the Petalburg Woods I caught a Slakoth in hiding too. Once I got to Rustboro, I traded it for that Makuhita. I beat Roxanne without too much trouble at all. Here's my team:
Mudkip (M) "Slippers", Level 14 Ralts (M) "Purity", Level 11 Taillow (F) "Codswalloo", Level 11 Makuhita (M) "Makit", Level 11 Just the start of my journey, so let's see how interesting this gets. |
Currently in slateport city; after defeating 2nd gym. Trained my team.
Croagunk - Lv 20 (Mud-slap, Taunt, Drain Punch, Feint attack) Fayana (Braixen) - Lv 20 (Ember, Howl, Psybeam, Scratch) Marshtomp - Lv 21 (Tackle, Foresight, Water gun, Mud Shot) Pidgeotto - Lv 21 (Steel Wing, Whirlwind, Gust, Quick Attack) |
Deafeted May with Marshtomp, Nuzleaf and Croagunk. Then ended up training more and then Made it to Mauville City; OMG it changed ALOT
Pokemon: Marshtomp Lv 24, Fayana (Braixen) Pidgeotto and Croagunk all Lv 25 New Members of team: Eevee lv 16, and Nuzleaf lv 18 I ended up getting the Mach Bike and looking around a bit in Manville. And now resting for the night. More adventures tomorrow! |
I Beat the 3rd gym and just made a super secret base. :)
Team: Spoiler:
PS: Super Secret base QR code if you want to check out my base :) Spoiler:
|
Honestly, this game is so so so good and I'm only 2 badges in. Like I'm enjoying this game so much and taking my time with it. I've been switching around my team and I plan to continue doing that, but holy JESUS I love this game.
Team so far: Skip the Grovyle Lvl. 23 Marvel the Tailow Lvl. 19 Paragon the Sableye Lvl. 15 Cruncher the Mightyena Lvl. 19 I'm planning on removing Mightyena and replacing it full with Sableye. I have shiny Beldum, but I'm not sure if I want to use it in my run through. I will probably swap out Tailow for Altaria or Flygon a little later. Other than that I'm good. The DexNav makes looking for all Pokemon on a single route so much fun. My box is literally filling up cause I want to catch everything. Despite its seemingly average reviews, I'm extremely satisfied with this game. |
Take 2.
After spending practically the whole non-working day soft-resetting for a good Mudkip, I finally got my hands on an Adamant one. Sure, this weakens its ability to dish out damage with its early/mid-game STABs, hence forcing me to fight left-handed for the majority of the game, but I do enjoy a bit of a challenge every now and then. Current team: Mudkip, male, level 7: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/d/d0/MDP258.png -Tackle -Growl -Water Gun Nature: Adamant |
And Day 2 of Sapphire Adventure:
took on the 3rd Gym leader and defeated him with Marshtomp and Croagunk! Took some time to look around a bit in Mauville and had my Eevee relax. Went out to catch Pokemon and did a Wonder trade for a Marill and got a Spirtzee and then Deposited my Eevee to add her to my team. I entered the Beauty contest with Spirtzee and WON! After that I fixed the Issue with the Rocks in the cave so people can pass in and out with ease! Now currently training. |
Here is the start of my travel journal. Note: these events are from yesterday.
Even though I picked up Pokemon Alpha Sapphire around 11 AM (Pacific Time), I did not start playing until around 5:40 PM (Pacific Time). When I started playing, I ended up choosing to play as Brendan, whom I named Mandolore. I of course chose to start with Mudkip. I have currently obtained two badges. I made it as far as Slateport. While I was there, I found my first Mega Stone in the game. The one I found was Alakazite. The way I found it was by seeing three glowing sparkles on the ground near each other. I have currently seen 35 Pokemon and caught 17. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Mudkip -> Marshtomp) L22/Naughty Gender: Male Moves: Tackle, Rock Tomb, Water Gun, Mud Bomb Obi-Wan (Tailow) L18/Lax Gender: Male Moves: Peck, Wing Attack, Focus Energy, Quick Attack Yoda (to be caught) Mace Windu (to be caught) Ki-Adi (to be caught) Anakin (to be caught) |
Started the game off last night and played for around 4hours. Wake up this morning and i found a shiny zigzagoon using dexnav im so happy right now haha even if its a zigzagoon my first ORAS shiny
|
Started the game at 10:30 pm and ended at 1:30. I recieved my starter, Mudkip and named him Captain. I met my new friend, May and professor Birch (I think he is clumsy). Later I caught an adamant poocheyena with fire fang, who I named Dudley. After meeting my dad, I taught Wally how to catch his first pokemon and I recieved my shiny beldum. I also caught a zigzagoon for cut. After meeting with the fishermen, he took me to Dewford, where I battled all the trainers. I'm planning on entering the cave, catching a zubat for my party, and challenging the gym. My party will be: Mudkip, Poocheyena, Beldum, and Zubat. So far everything is the same level without the exp. share. And nothing has fainted!
|
So last night, I got to Dewford, beat Brawly without taking any damage, and then met Steven at the Granite Cave. I beat the trainers on the coast, arrived in Slateport City, got Team Magma out of the Oceanic Museum, and then found that you can catch Magnemite in hordes, which was surprising. I caught one and named it Parallel. I would have named it Parallelogram, but sadly that's one character off the limit. Anyway, I beat the trainers on Route 110 then arrived in Mauville, did some stuff and beat Wattson without too much concern. Here's my team:
Marshtomp (M) "Slippers", Level 22 Kirlia (M) "Purity", Level 20 Taillow (M) "Codswallop", Level 20 (this was male, not female) Makuhita (M) "Makit", Level 21 Magnemite "Parallel", Level 20 This is going quite good, wonder how much i'll get done today. |
I'm not that far yet since I mostly transfered eggs then super trained my pokemons, For now I got Torchic, Mudkip, Pichu and Taillow and I'm just after I met Norman.
|
Meant to post this last night before going to bed but didn't. Whoops.
Anyway, got my third badge and did a bit of backtracking after going to Verdanturf and clearing the Rusturf Tunnel. Found a few Mega Stones (Mawilite, Aggronite, Pidgeotite, Steelixite, and Manectite) and went back to Granite Cave to catch an Aron (which took FOREVER because I was trying to get one with its Hidden Ability). Currently on Route 111 with EXP Share on to hopefully catch my newest team members up in levels. My team: Spoiler:
And for anyone wondering, I got the Nest, Dusk, and Timer balls through the mine cart game on PGL. |
Well, after 90 minutes, I'm in Rustboro. I managed to find a Steel Wing Taillow and a Twister Wingull, so those two are with me, along with my Torchic.
|
currently in Fallarbor town... Team is looking great. My Nuzleaf is now a Shiftry, I got a leaf stone and satchel from pokemon global .... Now I need to Evolve Spirtzee if anyone wants to help with that Great!
Need to train more as I venture off towards Team Aqua! |
Update for me!
I just beat the petalburg gym, currently on route 118. I have started to use the super training. I have also made my secret base (which I'll upload in a little bit). My current team is: Tamriel (Sceptile) lvl 37 Metang lvl 37 Bear (mightyenna) lvl 38 Snowbird (glalie from demo) lvl 42 |
Thanks ASH for trading with me!
I just defeated team Aqua and onto the 4th gym. Also have a Mysterious Egg that I will hatch from ASH. |
I made it to Mauville, and I just beat Wally again. I also caught a Fake Tears Whismur. That Whismur and my Torchic have since evolved.
|
I am having a blast with Alpha Sapphire! So much fun. I just made it to the new redesigned Mauville as well. I just beat Wally and am exploring, because there is so much to explore in Mauville now!
My squad: Grovyle Level 25 Swellow Level 22 Ralts Level 18 Electrike Level 17 Metang Level 22 Mightyena Level 21 |
Started Omega Ruby. Chose May of course but used my own name. Pleased with the giant Lapras plush in my room XD (And the Wii U lol)
Met Brendon and soon found Prof Birch and chose my percious Pokemon Torchic. Saved Birch and recieved my warm fire bird for myself. Really enjoying the overland itself. Got to Oldale town. After seeing Pokeballs were out of stock, went to the next route to find Brendan on Route 103 who wished to battle. Barely won the battle, as Torchic is still just a few levels. Trained Brendon back to the Lab and got my Pokedex! :D Torchic was named Bandana. My Torchic plush wears May's bandana, so in honor of the retired Bandana of May he was given this name XD Started going back and got to Petalburg City only to hear a boy named Wally was missing. Upon entering Norman's Gym, Wally himself asks him politely for help getting his own Pokemon. Scince I had already became a trainer, it was decided I would assist him. With the help of Norman's Zigzagoon, Wally caught his own Ralts! Excited and filled with joy we return to Normal and Wally issues plenty of thanks. Wally leaves to move Cities with his new Ralts. Normal promises after obtaining 4 badges he will battle me fair for the Badge he holds. |
I defeated the 4th, 5th and 6th gyms (easy as poochyena) :)
Team: http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated/254.gif Nortek/Level 42 http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated/262.gif Poochama/Level 42 http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated/279.gif Flora/Level 42 http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated/310.gif Spark/Level 41 http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated-shiny/375.gif Metang/Level 42 http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated/333.gif Pixilate/Level 28 |
So I feel cheated:
I defeated the 4th gym later and suddenly MAY appears and takes me straight to the 5th gym (My dads gym)...I easily take him out so now I have my 5th badge. Wally shows up and now he takes me straight to Mauville city... Like WTH is going on did they just take the easy way out and just say Heck you lucky were doing this ...? Anyways This game is moving along faster than I expected. My Team: Croagunk: Lv 36 Shiftry: Lv 36 Pidgeot: Lv 38 Marshtomp: Lv 34 Aromatisse: Lv 31 Fayana (Delphox): Lv 39 |
Norman is pathetically easy if you have a Pokemon with Protect, like my Pelipper. Anyways, I'm back in Mauville, on my way to Fortree City to challenge Winona. I have a Combusken, Swellow, Pelipper, Loudred, and Sandslash with me, and I hope to pick up a 6th team member soon.
|
I just reached Lilycove City. :)

Have six badges and just cleared Magma Base, on my way to Mossdeep now (I think).
Current Team: Spoiler:

Just got through the second gym. I'm super excited. Hoenn is by far my favorite region. Now to grind out another 5 hours of AS.

Candela's Hoenn Journal: Day 1
I decided to go as a guy (since I like his hair-hat), named Chronos. Moving out into the town of Littleroot, my mind was filled with nostalgia, as looking at the entry screen with a screenshot of Ruby and Sapphire's old intro with Professor Birch came up. It was not what I expected at all, and I am so glad that they placed it in. After coming outside and doing all those things with the neighbors, I went to grab Treecko from Professor Birch's bag. I was hoping for a female, just because it was the gender of my first starter. Alas, I ended up with a male. Nicknamed Scepteelee just to reminiscence my old Emerald Treecko. Lame, I know, but hey, I might change it by the time I reach Slateport. After retrieving Treecko, I went to route 103 to battle May. At first I was worried that her Torchic might use Ember on me, but man was I wrong. May, you have the cutest expression ever. I didn't regret going as a guy now. :3 Anyway, with all that done, and after obtaining the Pokedex as well as the DexNav, I immediately tried to do some sneaking. Little do I know that sneaking wasn't a feature 'til you went through the tutorial with May/Brendan. Man, I ended up circling for a bit before knowing. Anyway, caught a female Poochyena with Thunder Fang, nicknamed Nana. Will be useful against Flying types though, but eh... I'll be catching a Feebas later anyway. Entering route 102 and I ended up spotting a male Zigzagoon with Charm. Caught and nicknamed Charming, 'cause I'm that original lol. I ended up catching a male Seedot with Beat Up nicknamed Gangsta, as well as a Surskit with Felt Stinger nicknamed Skittles. I also encountered a Ralts shaking spot before I entered Petalburg. Nice, too bad it was a guy. I prefer Gardevoir as female myself, but eh Gallade's good too. Now I'm hoping that by the time he could evolve, I already got my Dawn Stone in my bag... Or I can always not use it. Honestly, Hoenn contains most of my favorites that I can't choose. Nicknamed Wally, 'cause whenever I think Ralts I think of him. After watching the tutorial on how to catch Pokemon by Wally, I obtained the PlayNav and immediately traded with a friend who got her copy with me. We traded each other's version-exclusive, and she gave me her Zigzagoon with Mudslap 'cause she's in for the dex data anyway. Caught a lot of other Pokemon through sneaking (sneaking is fun yo!), and I ended my journey for today over at Rustboro City. I still want to play more, but I need to get my fossil breeding for people done, as well as deal with other things, so I'll probably continue playing by the time they're all done. Current Team: Scepteelee | Treecko M | Lv. 13 Nana | Poochyena F | Lv 10 Charming | Zigzagoon M | Lv 10 Wally | Ralts M | Lv 9 |
Day 2 of my Travel Journal:
My events of yesterday started with me preparing to leave Slateport City. Course before I could leave the city, some NPC mentioned a Contest Spectacular star had shown up, so my character went to go see for himself. After meeting the Contest Spectacular star, I decided to enter a Cool Contest Spectacular. I entered it with Obi-Wan and ended up winning. After that, I then left Slateport. When I was on Route 110, I caught the third member of my team. Course after I caught him, I had to go back to Slateport to buy more Pokeballs. This was because the battle with the Pokemon that became my third team member nearly depleted my supply of them. After going back to Route 110, I decided to go to the Trick House. After clearing it the first time, I started to think that there would only be six levels this time. After I left the Trick House, I continued through Route 110. While I was on there, I defeated May for the second time. Her Grovyle did not stand a chance against Obi-Wan's Aerial Ace. After that battle, I then I reached Mauville City. Course with the new look of Mauville, it feels more like a mall than a city. One of the first things I did there was battle Wally for the first time. After defeating him, I got the Mach Bike at Rydel's Cycles. Later, I battled and defeated Wattson to get my third gym badge. I have currently seen 53 Pokemon and caught 25. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Marshtomp) L30/Naughty Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Rock Slide, Water Gun, Mud Bomb Obi-Wan (Tailow -> Swellow) L26/Lax Hold Item: None Moves: Peck, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Quick Attack Anakin (Electrike) L19/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Thunder Wave, Thunder Fang, Spark, Quick Attack Yoda (to be caught) Mace Windu (to be caught) Ki-Adi (to be caught) |
Day: 001 [Nov. 21, 2014]
I picked up my copy of Omega Ruby at around 11am-12pm, alongside a Link Amiibo. I was also given a poster, which was pretty cool! I didn't actually start playing until at around 1 or so, though. I went with Omega Ruby because, regardless of Water being my favorite type, Ruby was the game I grew up with and I knew the nostalgia would be great. I'm really glad I did now, since I much rather prefer the exclusive legendaries in this than AS. [Though I do prefer Latias over Latios, but the Eon Ticket will make that all better~] In any case, I started my adventure and was immediately hit in the face with nostalgia. Absolutely LOVE the beginning of the game. I soft reseted a couple of times to try and see if I could get a nice looking ID # and landed 06161, which I think was pretty cool so I kept it. I also SR'd a couple of times to be able to get an Adamant natured Mudkip! I embarked on my journey and have since then fallen in love with the DexNav. I have always enjoyed capturing every Pokémon I see, but now that I can actually get an idea of which Pokémon I can get and if I have captured all of the ones available to that area I am in ecstasy! Sneaking is a lot more fun than I thought it would be, too! I am heavily enjoying the longer PokéDex descriptions along with their nice registration animation; it feels so rewarding! Both when I entered my first Pokémon Center and when I bumped into my first Team Magma Grunt I was just slapped in the face with nostalgia - and I loved it. Spoiler:
I have been super slow about playing this game, taking in the new features along with getting really distracted from time to time. I worked on getting my Shiny Beldum, SRing for a while to get the right nature I wanted for it before putting it on PokéBank next to the rest of my Event Collection. I then beat the first Gym Leader, Roxanne, witnessed the Devon Parts being stolen and saved just before entering the cave to retrieve them, finishing my playthrough for the day since it had gotten rather late. ~My team up until this point: Quote:
Day: 002 [Nov. 22, 2014] On my second day I did not get to play as much as I had liked. Was extremely busy for most of the day, but at least I did get to play some. I started back from where I left off, retrieved the Devon Parts and was taken to Dewford Town. I made it a point to, once again, capture every Pokémon I could in every area, especially that cursed Abra at the Granite Cave. I managed to actually capture it without having dealt any damage to it or given it any status ailments, which was pretty cool! I made my way back to Dewford, battled Brawly and then came back to Granite Cave once more to meet Steven. I thought the mural looked incredibly cool and I love how they've already started integrating the whole "Primal" thing into the story. I made my way to Slateford City where I was greeted with the infamous Team Magma waiting line at the Oceanic Museum. I later got to go in, enjoyed the Museum on its own before battling the Grunts on the second floor and getting to meet Maxie for the first time! I now really like what they've done with the character, something that wasn't originally the case back when their redesigns were announced, and enjoyed his small speech about his motives. [I also looked up the same scene online for AS, enjoying the difference in dialogue between the Grunts themselves and their leader. I still prefer Team Magma, which is nice.] After that was done I met Lisia, a really great addition to the Hoenn cast and entered my first Contest! I was surprised to see I actually won, placing first on the Normal Rank Tough Contest with my Marshtomp! I then picked up my Cosplay Pikachu, absolutely loving the entire concept of it and the fact I own one now. I then made my way up to Route 110 where I fought with Pokémon countless times trying to get all of the ones in the area. I have yet to get a Plusle to appear. *Grumble Grumble* I saved right before fighting May, knowing I wanted to leave that for tomorrow [today] as it had gotten late already, cursing Plusle as I turned it off. ~My team up until this point: Quote:
|
I play so slowly omg I've been having too much fun trying to complete DexNav areas and that.
Matagross - Metagross - 51 Vittoria - Sableye - 51 Teddy - Crobat - 51 Jasper - Sceptile - 51 Trevor - Linoone - 44 (temporary) Makit - Makuhita - 33 (temporary) AND I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN LILYCOVE YET GUYS I'm holding our for Glalie and Sharpedo but ugh I forgot how long I'd be without them. |
Got my seventh badge, dealt with Team Magma, fought Primal Groudon and knocked it out partly because I didn't want to deal with trying to catch it then since it knows Rest and partly because I want to reset for good IVs, and just got my eighth and final badge. Probably not going to head for Victory Road right away since my team's a bit under leveled for the Elite Four at this point. Plus I now have the Eon Flute and there's plenty of other places I haven't been to yet.
Current team: Spoiler:
|
Im at Meteor Falls with new party members! I have a level 24 Golbat, level 24 Marshtomp, Level 24 Metang, level 24 Mighteyena, and level 22 Electrike. I built my secret base right outside the Meteor Falls cave, and it looks really nice. It is about double the size of the other secret bases I have seen and is separated into two parts. Im off to save professor Cozmo!
|
I currently have 3 badges and trying to figure out what I want my final team to look like. Right now it is this:
Britt/Linoone Lvl 26 Headbutt - Odor Sleuth - Cut - Pin Missile Wally/Gallade Lvl 23 False Swipe - Confusion - Double Team - Magical Leaf Clyde/Grovyle Lvl 31 Pursuit - Leaf Blade - Giga Drain - Quick Attack Metang Lvl 27 Hold Back - Iron Head - Zen Headbutt - Iron Defense Sableye Lvl 21 Rock Smash - Sucker Punch - Nasty Plot - Recover Rusty/Mightyena Lvl 26 Thunder Fang - Howl - Roar - Assurance I used Pokebank to evolve Kirlia into Gallade and to bring over my 5IV egg move Sableye, but it became an HM slave since I didn't want to mess up Mightyena's Contest moves or give any of my others an HM. Metang is staying until he evolves but then he goes into the PC. I'm not sure what I want to do with Britt and Rusty since Headbutt is Britt's main attack and Rusty is falling behind damage wise. I know I'm going to add Skarmory to my team, if only for a little while, and probably switch it off with Flygon later. I also want Sharpedo so it (more than likely) will replace Rusty. |
Well, I'm going to challenge to Pokemon League after this post. My team, all level 50, is Blaziken, Latias, Swellow, Pelipper, Exploud, and Sandslash. I still have some preparing to do, as I've got to get rid of some HMs.
|
Currently in Flannery's gym! Battling trainers at the moment.
I am really having a blast with this game! The squad: Grovyle Level 31 Manectric Level 29 Swellow Level 29 Seviper Level 25 Kirlia Level 26 Metang Level 30 |
Currently in Sootopolis City. Waiting outside the Pokemon Center so I can go to the Cave of Origin to meet up with Wallace (I'm doing the Delta Episode)
Current team: Groudon Lvl 86. Latias Lvl 50 Metagross Lvl 55 Kyogre Lvl 54 Mightyena Lvl 53 Ludicolo Lvl 53. I'm going to put Groudon back in my box as well as Latias as long as it doesn't hinder my ability to use the Eon Flute |
After a fierce battle against Primal Groudon my trusty Skarmory and I managed to calm his insane rampage by capturing it in our 21st Pokeball.

My name is The Trainer

Well I was going to hold off on taking on the Elite Four and spend the day grinding and just messing around Hoenn, but I got impatient. Beat the Elite Four and Steven, did Delta Episode and got Rayquaza (and it has a Hardy Nature ew, also had to use my Master Ball because there was no way my level 50-60 Pokemon could handle it), beat Deoxys to rest for IVs later, and picked Totodile from the Johto Starters (Mild Nature...eh, could be worse I guess).
Final update on my Hoenn team as it is since I'll be bringing in my other teams soon: Spoiler:
|
Caught Rayquaza in a regular pokeball (friggen lucky right there I tell you), fought and caught Deoxys in a Ultra Ball. I wanted to catch him in a Premier Ball or a regular Pokeball like I did Kyogre/Rayquaza, but my 3DS was dying so I'll take what I get. Glad that I didn't have to resort to my Masterball, I want to save that ball for the LAST available legendary that I can catch.
Anyway, Delta Episode complete, going to go for the mirage spots to capture the Legendaries for AS and then I'm going to head for the ruins so I can catch the Regis. |
I tried going into the game with a team in my head involving which pokemon I wanted to relive the Hoenn experience with. I traded over my shiny zubat I bred from x&y because it was the first shiny pokemon i've ever caught and that was back in emerald and I wanted him to come along. Choosing which starter I wanted would have been harder if they hadn't of given us a Torchic during x&y; Blazekin was so overused that I was tired of seeing his face so I started out with Treeko and a shiny Zubat.
I kept those two till the end, and included a whismur and surskit I caught early on in the game. I had in my mind that I really wanted to use Walrein but by the time I made it to shoal cave I already had a Sharpedo and an Altaria I couldn't let go of. The team I beat the elite four with was http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g215/thisorthatone/0d46b168-016c-492f-a673-a887f3dd645a_zps0fdbf8dd.jpg The reasons for their names is that i'm studying veterinary medicine and these are a few of my favorite drug names. I caught all of the ledgendaries up to deoxys pretty easy but I was so scared of accidently killing him that I caught him in the Master ball. Honestly I really liked the game but I thought a few parts were pretty anticlimatic, like when you receive the Cosplay Pikachu and how you're just handed Latios/Latias. I'm more of a breeder than anything though so what will be really fun is being able to breed for good contest pokemon as well as more pokemon for all the arenas this game has to offer! There is still alot more to explore i'm sure but it looks like breeding is all i'll be doing for a while. Can't wait for the next game~ |
After beating the Pokemon League, I did the Delta Episode, catching Rayquaza but knocking out Deoxys :( I also did some DexNavving on Route 101, which led me to find a 3 IV Poochyena. Now we're going on a big fat legendary Pokemon hunt.
|
I strangely got a female Mudkip without noticing. That's never happened to me without rerolling lol. She's lv. 40, not evolved, and sitting in my PC because I almost never use starters unless that starter is Bulbasaur. :3
Absol ♀ lv. 45 Flygon ♀ lv. 48 Breloom ♂ lv. 47 Gardevoir ♀ lv. 49 Milotic ♀ lv. 26 Holding out for a Froslass. I like Banette better as a ghost but ice sure does fill in some holes nicely. Thinking about switching out Breloom but I'm not a fan of grass pokes of gen 3. I might throw in Altaria but that depends how I feel in the future. |
Day 3 of my Travel Journal:
Well my events of yesterday started with me deciding to get the shiny Beldum. After that, I then left Mauville and headed North on Route 111. When I then turned toward Route 112, May showed up and healed my Pokemon. After that, we took a look at Mt. Chimney. I then went through the Fiery Path. After going through the Fiery Path, I continued on Route 112, Route 111, and Route 113. While I was on Route 113, I snuck up on and caught a Skarmory. I then headed to Fallarbor Town. When I got there, May and I went to see Professor Cosmo's assistant to find out what happened to him. After finding out, May and I decided to go to Meteor Falls to save him. When May and I got to Meteor Falls, we had a tag battle against Aqua Admin Shelly and a Team Aqua Grunt. After that Magma Leader Maxie showed up. After he gave his speech and left, May and I got Professor Cosmo back to his house. After that, May and I headed back to Mauville City. Course I did not stay long. I then headed right to Mt. Chimney. After beating members of Team Aqua there, including Aqua Leader Archie, I then headed to Lavaridge for my fourth gym battle. After I battled and defeated Flannery, I left the gym. May then showed up and asked if I want to go back to Petalburg. I told her no since I still had things I needed to take care of. I have currently seen 82 Pokemon and caught 39. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Marshtomp -> Swampert) L39/Naughty Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Rock Slide, Muddy Water, Mud Bomb Obi-Wan (Swellow) L34/Lax Hold Item: None Moves: Peck, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Secret Power Anakin (Electrike -> Manectric) L28/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Bite, Thunder Fang, Strength, Quick Attack Yoda (to be caught) Mace Windu (to be caught) Ki-Adi (to be caught) |
Day: 003 [Nov. 23, 2014]
I forgot to mention this previously, but I love the new gameplay mechanic for the Dowsing Machine. I never bothered to use it before, as I had found it to be tedious, but I find myself constantly using it now every time I reach a new area. Anyways, after constantly trying to find Plusle I decided to have my sister send me one she had captured so I could register it on my Pokédex, have it appear on my DexNav and then capture my own using the Search function. I could have probably tried to tough it out some more, but I wasted way too much time this morning doing that. With that I made my way towards Mauville City and... Wow. I knew they had changed it, but I definitely did not expect this! Regardless of Mauville City being a city that stood out to me back in the day, mostly due to the different branching paths and the bike shop, I am rather fond of this new version. It really does make it fit a lot nicer and I enjoyed taking my time going through all of it and talking to everyone seeing what they all had to say! The camera angles from X/Y were also a nice touch. In any case, after spending a little too much time exploring the new mall Mauville City, I headed towards the 3rd Gym. I was expecting a little bit more from the "puzzles", but then I remembered that this was only the 3rd Gym, so I let it slide. Wattson was not difficult at all but it was very nice to get to see him virtually unchanged. Love that guy. After that was done I spent some time on the neighboring routes completing as much as I could of my DexNav [curse you, Marill, for taking ages to appear] and then I headed towards Route 111 to continue on my journey. I was exceptionally glad to see this area mostly unchanged, as well, as I absolutely loved it way back in the day. Fast forward me fighting bunches for my DexNav and passing through the Fiery Path and I reach Fallarbor Town! I get right down to business and go straight to looking for Prof. Cozmo. Once I arrive at Meteor Falls nostalgia hits me again. The moment I stumbled into my first Solrock was amazing and I absolutely love how they made the cave look! This game is gorgeous. In any case, I finally get a glimpse at Tabitha! Although I am not a huge fan of the character design change, I do have to say that his personality does intrigue me. I fight him and the Grunt alongside May and am finally introduced to Archie! It is super nice getting to see [in-game] the difference in personalities between not only Archie and Maxie, but the team overall, as well. They leave towards Mt. Chimney but May and I return to Fallarbor Town to take Prof. Cozmo home safely. May offers to walk back to Mauville City together, which I accept and am instantly transported to the center of the mall city. After healing my Pokémon I make a beeline to Mt. Chimney, enjoying the look of the small cutscene as the Cable Car reaches the top. Once I set foot outside, nostalgia has snuck up on me and punched me in the face once more. I loved being able to see the Poochyena "battles" between the Team Aqua and Magma grunts. So many memories! After talking to all of them, as I often try to do, I go up and find Tabitha once more! Once again his personality catches my interest, particularly that laugh of his. We fight, I beat him and then I get to see Maxie again. He explains his plans to me in that calculating tone of his that I have grown to really like. I am loving the small differences in storyline and how they've implemented Mega Stones into it and stuff like that. I'm really enjoying this remake. In any case, he then challenges me to a battle! Even if he didn't use it I love that I got a glimpse of his Mega Glasses, a concept I found very interesting and enjoyable. I beat him and I get to see him freak out for a second, which I must agree was funny, and then he storms off, apparently having received intel on the actual location of the orbs they've been searching. I make my downwards, passing through the Jagged Pass and taking my time there, capturing the available Pokémon and going every possible route to get as many of the items scattered around. I then finally reach Lavaridge Town, where the first thing I do after healing my Pokémon is check out the new Hot Springs! I breathe in the hot, warm nostalgic air. The old ladies may not be there anymore, but that is fine by me. I save and call it a night. ~My team up until this point: Quote:
|
So today I did the big Team Magma event - Maxie was a joke; the only member of his that got to damage me was Crobat (well, his Weezing OHKO'ed my Azumarill, which was just an HM Pokémon). Then Primal Groudon was next, and my Bellossom made short work of it while it was asleep thanks to Solar Beam and Giga Drain. Then I beat Wallace, who was pretty easy except for his Milotic (and even at that, my Gardevoir handled it without any real concerns thanks to Calm Mind). And I got the National Dex, which is pretty cool that you get it before you even beat the game. Here's my team:
Swampert (M) "Slippers", Level 44 Gardevoir (M) "Purity", Level 44 Hariyama (M) "Makit", Level 44 Magnezone "Parallel", Level 45 Flygon (M) "Gnarly", Level 45 Bellossom (M) "Sunnyside", Level 44 Tomorrow i'll probably go through Victory Road, but I think I want to do some backtracking to areas I didn't fully explore first. |
Got Alpha Sapphire Sunday, so far:
Sunday: Chose Mudkip as my starter, first caught Pokemon was Zigzagoon. Didn't get too far, just got to Rustboro City. I was gonna challenge Roxanne, but instead decided to hold off and began to super train my Mudkip. Afterwards, did some trading. My team was: Mudkip Charmander Pikachu Shiny Beldum Monday (today) : Got much farther, got 3 gym badges and began making my way to Lavaridge Town. My team now: Marshtomp Grovyle Charmeleon Pikachu Makuhita Shiny Metang (Don't have too much info because I'm not using the game right now) |
Well I caught Lugia, Uxie, Mesprit, Cobalion, and Virizion today and yesterday. I did battle Thundurus, but it eventually Struggled itself to death.
|
It's been a while since the last update, because I was Super Training and fooling around with the DexNav too much in a desperate search for a good Taillow. It didn't have Boomburst or Brave Bird, but at least I'm alright with the IVs and nature. I made it through Petalburg Woods in case anyone's curious. Before that, I ported over a Ralts from my Y version so that I wouldn't waste too much time searching for one with good IVs/nature.

Candela's Hoenn Journal: Day 2 & 3 (midday)
Alright, after exploring Rustboro for a bit, I decided to go to route 116. I ended up starting a Skitty chain and a Taillow chain for a bit. Netted me with a Mud Bomb HA F SKitty nicknamed Amimi and a Defog F Lv 18 Taillow (which was higher than my Grovyle's (evolved while chaining) level, I was lucky to catch her) nicknamed Tally. I ended up depositing Nana and Wally 'cause I don't feel like using any of those two. Tally... well, she can pass off for the Coolness contest I guess? After chaining for a while, I went to challenge the gym. Skitty Mud Bomb OP. She helped clear out the Geodudes that were bothering, but she was still underleveled compared to Roxanne's Nosepass, so Grovyle took care of it. After doing other story-related stuff (Peeko walks, it's so cute), I went to Dewford. The gym... well, considering that I got a Lv 18 Taillow on my side, it was somewhat of a cinch. I made Amimi deal with the trainers before Brawly though, but Disarming Voice isn't a strong move... Granite Cave was shorter than I expected. I was actually expecting to catch a Mawile though... oh well. At least Steven is shown in all of his glory. Mm... Steven... :F Alright, went to Slateport, dealt with Team Magma, met Maxie (damn ORAS has a lot of hot dudes), and got access to POKEMON CONTEST SPECTACULAR!!! Oh man, how much I miss this. I was actually glad to see that it's at Slateport, which means I can access the contests early. :D Alright, so I entered the contest with Tally. Fed it a single Red Pokeblock+ to boost its coolness a bit. It was amazing, actually, since I dominated the contest at the talent round. I gain like most of the attendance's views. So I tried out the Super Rank this time, and I saw that even when I didn't raise her coolness, her talent round performances took the hearts of the audience. Amimi did her best and won the Normal Rank Cuteness Contest. And obviously, got the Cosplay Pikachu... eh, it's a nice gimmick, but she's staying in my boxes for now. Her sheen's ridiculously high though, maybe I should try her out someday. And then I went to find an Electrike. Caught one just so I can begin chaining, but I haven't gotten one that I like. Oh well... And then I noticed it's almost 3AM. Crap! I have to leave for campus in 4 1/2 hours! ~End Day 2~ Alright, so what I did here... I defeated May, reached Mauville and defeated Wally. Still exploring the New Mauville city though. Hmm... they're selling ribbons, wonder why they didn't add that at XY when I have like 9 million of cash only used for the daycare. :/ At least, Charming evolved into Linoone today. ~End Day 3 (midday)~ Current Team: Scepteelee | Grovyle M | Lv 21 Charming | Linoone M | Lv 21 Amimi | Skitty F | Lv 21 Tally | Taillow F | Lv 21 |
Day 4 of my Travel Journal:
My events of yesterday started with me heading back to the Fiery Path to get the items in the western side. While I was there, I caught the fourth member of my team. After I finished up there, I headed to the desert. While I was in the desert I obtained a fossil. After finishing up the desert, I made my way back to Meteor Falls. I then went through the southwestern exit to Route 115. After making my way through Route 115, I headed to Devon to get my fossil restored. After doing that, I made my way all the way back to Lavaridge. Then I told May I was ready to go back to Petalburg. After making my way back to Petalburg, I then battled and defeated Norman for my fifth gym badge. After leaving the gym, I got HM03 Surf. Then Wally and I headed back to Mauville to reach Route 118. Course now that I could use Surf, I headed back to Route 115 to take care of some business there. One of the things being creating my [Super] Secret Base. After that, I headed back to Route 110 since I felt like completing more puzzles in the Trick House. While I was at the Trick House, I competed two more floors, but got stuck on the next one. That was when I decided to go to Route 118. While I was on Route 118, I ran into Steven again. While we were talking, Latios showed up and took us to Southern Island because of some reason. We found out what the reason was after we got there. After speaking to Latias, Steven and I had a tag battle against Aqua Admin Matt and a Team Aqua Grunt. After winning the battle, Latias trusted me enough that she wanted to go with me. I was surprised to get one of the Eon Pokemon at this point in the game. After getting Latias, Steven gave me the Mega Bracelet. After that Latios took us back to Route 118. After getting back to Route 118, Steven left. I then finished up Route 118 and headed to Route 119. I noticed that the rules regarding the really tall grass on Route 119 had changed. I was shocked that I could now ride my bike through it, but it can't be cut. I made it as far as the Weather Institute where I stopped for the night. I have currently seen 104 Pokemon and caught 46. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Swampert) L49/Naughty Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Rock Slide, Surf, Mud Bomb Obi-Wan (Swellow) L43/Lax Hold Item: None Moves: Peck, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Secret Power Anakin (Manectric) L37/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Bite, Thunder Fang, Strength, Discharge Yoda (Torkoal) L32/Timid Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Secret Power, Lava Plume, Flame Wheel Mace Windu (to be caught) Ki-Adi (to be caught) |
I was thinking on the bus today, and for now, there's no real reason for me to keep a piece of my non-breeding collection on Y. Kalos and ORAS pokes aren't marked differently (both have the pentagon), so I'll probably merge everything to AS tonight or tomorrow. That'll make DexNav stuff a bit less tedious, and prioritize my run through the game.
So far I've earned 5 badges. I thought the sequence between gyms 4 and 5, and back to Mauville was kind of rushed and haphazard. I know GF probably inserted it to cut down on grinding, but in my opinion the execution is lacking. Other than the Alakazite that PlatinumDude shared with us some days ago, I haven't found any stray Mega Stones lying around. I'll probably revisit that search after I'm done playing through. Soft resetting for an ideal-natured Latias was just irritating. I hope GF doesn't continue this trend (Yveltal and Xerneas were similar, iirc) where we have to sit through 5 minutes of dialogue to catch a legendary and check its stats. I wanted to punch Steven in his pretty boy face by the time I managed to get a Modest Latias. His waxing poetic discourse about its sublime beauty was just cheesy and pretentious. I know he's supposed to be my friend in this game, but I'm looking forward to kicking his teeth in ruthlessly at the Pokemon League. Maybe I'm just salty because I'm used to the old model of waltzing up to my prospective poke, chatting it up, catching it and moving on with my life, sans 5 more minutes of idle chit chat. Current Rotation: Jolteon, Timid, Lv 32 Metagross, Shiny, Adamant, Lv. 34 Marshtomp, crappy nature, Lv. 35 Pinsir, crappy nature, Lv. 27 Gardevoir, Modest, Lv. 30 Gallade, Bold (will be replacing with a Jolly one on Y), Lv. 29 Growlithe, Impish, Lv. 28 Nidorino, crappy nature, Lv. 27 Shroomish, Jolly, Lv. 32 Latias, Modest, Lv. 30 I think the fact that I've been able to maintain a rotation this big on par with my in-game opponents' levels is a testament to the argument that Exp. Share overlevels a team. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying myself. /longchat. Took me a long time to find this thread. |
Well, I just beat the game. The Elite Four weren't too difficult at all, as I had the proper coverage for them (although Phoebe was a little annoying). Then we came to the Champion, Steven! Not only was my team rather low leveled going in, but I wanted to try to give my entire team chances to fight. I had a Magnezone, which could easily take most of his team but I didn't want to get too dirty.
-Skarmory was 2HKO'ed by Purity thanks to Thunderbolt, although he healed. -Aggron came after that, and I brought in Makit. I used Fake Out and got rid of Sturdy, before taking less than half from Iron Tail then slamming him with Close Combat. -Claydol was next, and I went to Sunnyside...before realizing I forgot to put back Solar Beam! (I got rid of it for Dazzling Gleam before I took on Drake.) He used Extra Sensory, then I set up Sunny Day and put him to sleep after. He didn't wake up, so Giga Drain was a 2HKO. -Cradily came after, and that was perfect for Parallel...except for Confuse Ray, which did prove to be an annoyance but I did get him out of the picture thanks to Flash Cannon. -Armaldo was after. Gnarly did less than half with a Soft Sand boosted Earth Power, and I missed with Draco Meteor, so he killed me. Purity finished him. -Finally, Metagross was last. I went to my own ace, Swampert, to take him. We both Mega Evolved, and he missed with Giga Impact as I used Rain Dance. I was then faster, and used Scald, which hit for only around 37% or so even with rain, but it burned him, so his Zen Headbutt only did a bit over 1/4 my health. From near half, Earthquake finished him, winning me the fight! Then there was the same stuff that happens in the originals, May shows up but i've already won, and then we entered the Hall of Fame. The final battle against May was nothing worth reporting, either. I did feel bad defeating her Mega Sceptile, though. ): But what happened afterwards was so cute. And so were the credits! (: Here was my final team: Bellossom (M) "Sunnyside", Level 52 Flygon (M) "Gnarly", Level 52 Magnezone "Parallel", Level 52 Hariyama "Makit", Level 52 Gardevoir (M) "Purity", Level 52 Swampert (M) "Slippers", Level 52 And that's that! I beat the entire game without ever using the Exp. Share or any items in battle. I'll probably do the Delta Episode tonight after I get home from work. (I could do it now while i'm still at college, but eh.) |
I downloaded Alpha Sapphire around midnight last week, and I have been taking my time with it ever since. In fact, for the past day or so, I had been hunting for a decent Recover or Moonlight Sableye with its Hidden Ability of Prankster in Granite Cave, and I only caught mine a few minutes ago.
Current Roster: Ruby the Sableye (Lv. 12, Relaxed female) Ruby is the result of a few days worth of Dexnaving for a Prankster Sableye with either Recover or Moonlight (in her case, it's Moonlight). As a result, she is very underleveled at the moment, but I am sure Ruby will come in handy soon. Jolene the Skitty (Lv. 30, Adamant female) Jolene was my second capture for my party, who I also caught with the DexNav feature. I was originally going to use her as a Baton Passer since she knows Baton Pass, but due to her Ability of Normalize, she is a lot more useful in battle than I expected. Although I am not even at Fallarbor Town yet, which gives Jolene plenty of time to be replaced if need be, she has pleasantly surprised me so far. Rick the Surskit (Lv. 29, Modest male) Ah, Rick...my first team member other than my starter! I decided to DexNav in search of Surskit right before I hit Petalburg, and thankfully, the first one I encountered with Hydro Pump had an excellent nature, so I used him. Due to the fact that Surskit and Masquerain have such different learnsets, I plan on keeping Rick a Surskit until he learns Sticky Web. Tyra the Combusken (Lv. 32, Hasty female) Tyra was my starter, who took quite a bit of time to SR for. I was adamant on starting with a female Torchic with a good enough nature, but I eventually got sick of SRing for an Adamant or Jolly female that refused to appear, so I settled for a Hasty female. I am already pretty attached to Tyra; she has been a big part of the battles for my three badges so far. |

Day: 004 [Nov. 24, 20014] I kick off the day by heading over to the 4th Gym and challenging Flannery! I liked the idea and concept of the Gym's mechanics, but was turned off a little by how straightforward it was. Regardless, I reach Flannery and, after enjoying her small outbursts, proceed to wipe the floor with her. As I step out of the Gym, badge in hand, I am greeted by May who gives me the option to accompany her to Petalburg. I was a little taken aback by the sudden transportation to the next Gym, wondering if I should have just gone there myself, but decided it was fine since it just saved up a lot of time for me anyway. With that, I enter the 5th Gym to face off my father! Unlike the previous Gym, I both liked and enjoyed the dynamics of this one. There's nothing too outstanding about it, but I like how you can either go through a whole, singular route or you can backtrack every time to face the other trainer you would have otherwise missed. In any case, I reach Norman and we face off! After an thrilling, action-packed battle with my father [Not really, OHKO'd 2/3 of his Pokés. xD] and a nice father-son scene, we head outside to bump into Wally once more! After a nice chat I am rewarded with Surf! Wally and I head off and our fathers bond in a nice, short scene right after. I liked that. From here I am instantly transported once more to Mauville City and am left with a promise from Wally to battle the next time we meet. I head over to Route 118, cross the gap with my new Surf and bump into Steven. As we are both about to leave we receive a surprise visit from Latias! She takes us to Southern Island and we not only get to meet Latios, but the second Team Magma Admin, Courtney! I was really looking forward to seeing more of her in game and she did not disappoint; I love her personality! After a quick fight with Courtney and a Team Magma Grunt I am rewarded with Latios. I honestly wish I could have been given the chance to fight it and then capture it rather than receiving it as a gift, but hey, I'll be doing that with Latias [whom I prefer] once I get my hands on the Eon Ticket, so that's fine! Immediately after getting Latios I am also given a Mega Bracelet from Steven himself! I like the integration of Latios [and Latias] into the story to introduce the character to Mega Evolutions. [I still wish we could have fought Latios instead, but I digress] Having captured a Timid Abra with Synchronize, I decided to spend as much time as I could getting at least some good IVs on Latios. Luckily enough, I got a really good one on my second Soft Reset! A Timid Latios with an IV spread of 31/18/30/28/30/30, which was really sweet! After that Latias takes us back to Route 118 where Steven and I part ways and I am back on my adventure! I proceed towards Route 123, being utterly surprised by both the vast amount of Berries and the new area's size, then head back and make my way to Route 119. [All the while capturing all the Pokémon I can for the DexNav.] I am absolutely in love with Route 119. It was one of the most memorable areas for me back when I first played these games and it is virtually unchanged. I was so happy by that. Anyways, I continue on my adventure, finding a nice, new place for my [Super] Secret Base and I bump into Team Magma yet again! I head inside the Weather Institute to see what they are up to. On the second floor I am greeted with a scene I do not remember at all from the original, one where Tabitha is questioning Maxie's motives. Really interesting. I continue, fighting off the Team Magma Grunts and then I face off against Tabitha! I OHKO his Pokémon and, with a really nice, updated scene, Tabitha leaves. After I am told about what they were up to and am given my Castform, I head down, get my Rocky Helmet from the scientist that was slapped and continue onwards! Lo and behold, before I get to reach Fortree City I am stopped by May. I remember being so upset to have to fight yet again at this point when I was a kid, but now I was glad to get to see her again. We battle, I win, we talk some more and I then get to finally reach Fortree City! First thing I do is enter the Pokémon Center, heal and then save before turning it off for the night. ~ My team up until this point: Quote:

A new update!
AlphaSapphire: -Went through the Safari Zone, caught some Pokemon, and sent them out on WonderTrade. -When I got a Kecleon in WonderTrade, I didn't think I would use it. I'm glad I kept it on my team as it's approaching level 50. -Making preparations to journey to Mossdeep City. |
I forgot to mention this, but I got Pokerus during my chain of Electrike on Day 3 (midday). I expected a shiny first, but this is good too.
Candela's Hoenn Journal: Day 3 (night) I continued to chain Electrike. Search lv 60 and I still haven found one I like. Oh well, I caught a female with Fire Fang and a male with Ice Fang, so that'll do. Dropped them into the daycare and picked up an egg immediately. Whatever it'll hatch into. may it be guy or girl, I'll still get an elemental fang Electrike. Anyway, I explored Mauville again and picked up the Mach Bike ('cause I'm in for speed). Went back and forth from Mauville to Slateport trying to chain Electrike again (hoping for a Lightning Rod one, bah). No luck. Bu still, after all that I went to Vedanturf. Tally participated in the contests again and gaining access to the Master Rank Coolness Contest. And then I got impatient and just take out one of my old DPPt contest Pokemon from the Bank and conquered all of them anyway (after learning that she can eat Pokeblocks again. MAX ALL THE CONTEST STATS!). I ended up challenging Lisia at the end and barely won with a 1-point difference. Got me a Luracrionite and a pretty Secret Base decor after all that trouble, and my contest Pokemon ended up getting a Contest Star ribbon thanks to my recklessness. But then I realized that I spent too much time there, so I immediately go to Mauville and defeated Wattson. I ended up being overleveled thanks to using DexNav a lot. Oh well, Alpha Sapphire. Added challenge: No Contests or DexNav 'til post-league. And then I skimmed through the trainers to meet Aurune. I can't wait to pick up Surf and regain my old Secret Base at Route 115. Although, I ended up staying up 'til 1AM this time. I should stop doing that. ~End Day 3 (night)~ Current Team: Scepteelee | Grovyle M | Lv 25 Charming | Linoone M | Lv 25 Amimi | Skitty F | Lv 25 Tally | Taillow F | Lv 25 |
Today I now have a total of 6 gym badges, did more trading, and got Latias. Of course, in process of getting those badges, I made my first Secret Base, ran into Team Aqua a couple times, beat Archie, and got some things like Mega Bracelet, Swampertite, etc. My Pokemon also have got to their final forms.
My current team: Swampert Sceptile Charizard Lucario Zebstrika Latias |
Well, good news to folks scoping out the mega - it looks like Sceptile learns more Dragon-type moves now. I was training one yesterday and it learned Dual Chop.
Crossing my fingers for Ice Punch on Swampert. Route 120 at night is friggin gorgeous. I was truly captivated by the reflection of the stars on the surface of the water. |
Day Five of my Travel Journal:
Outside of the game: Yesterday I got the updates done for both PokeBank and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. I also transferred Diancie from Pokemon X to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. In the game: My events started with me clearing Team Aqua out of the Weather Institute. After that, I got Castform and the Rocky Helmet. After I left the Weather Institute, I ran into May again. Before the battle with her, she sounded like she was jealous about the Mega Bracelet that I got. After beating her, I made my way to Fortree City. While in Fortree, I bought a desk for my [Super] Secret Base, and got Diancie's Mega Stone. I then briefly headed to Route 120 where Steven was waiting. He then gave me the Devon Scope so I could see the invisible Kecleon. After I beat it, Steven gave me Swampert's Mega Stone. I then headed back to Fortree to have my next gym battle. When I battled against Winona, I used Luke, Anakin, and Yoda in that battle. After I beat her, I headed east to clear Routes 120 and 121. When I was on those routes, I found five more [Super] Secret Bases. I then headed to the Safari Zone. While I was at the Safari Zone, caught five or six more Pokemon. After I was done there, I headed to Lilycove. While I was in Lilycove, I battled and beat May again. After that, I headed to the Department Store to buy a few things. I then headed to the Move Deleter to get rid of one of Luke's moves. After I finished up my business in Lilycove, I headed to Mt Pyre. When I got to Mt. Pyre, I proceeded to make my through there. I even critical caught the Pokemon who became my fifth team member. After beating members of Team Aqua there, including Aqua Admin Matt, I then headed to Slateport. While in Slateport, I met up with Captain Stern. After doing a battle in the harbor that was not there in the original games, Captain Stern took me back to Lilycove so I could look for Team Aqua's Hideout. That was where I stopped for the night. I have seen 134 Pokemon and caught 60. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Swampert) L60/Naughty Hold Item: Swampertite Moves: Rock Slide, Surf, Earthquake Obi-Wan (Swellow) L52/Lax Hold Item: Amulet Coin Moves: Air Slash, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Fly Anakin (Manectric) L47/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Bite, Thunder Fang, Strength, Discharge Yoda (Torkoal) L45/Timid Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Secret Power, Lava Plume, Flamethrower Ki-Adi (Shuppet) L32/Quirky Hold Item: Banettite Moves: Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hex, Shadow Ball Mace Windu (to be caught) |
My first ever travel journal. This one is on Omega Ruby. Well, I've already gotten 3 badges over the past 3 days, so I'll consolidate all 3 into this post. The ones in spoilers are pretty long...
Day 1: Nothing much really. Picked Treecko as my starter and downloaded the shiny beldum. Trained both to Lv7 and defeated May using treecko. I teared a little after watching the introduction. Game Freak has certainly nailed this one. A great way to throwback to the original one. Too much nostalgia (7.8/10?) Day 2: Spoiler:
Day 3: Spoiler:

I beat Roxanne. She was as easy as I remembered, even though I had to fight left-handed with Mudkip. It evolved into Marshtomp after the battle. Regarding the AreaNav's Trainer's Eyes function, I was surprised that the trainers registered in it wanted rematches after the Rustboro Gym, instead of after beating Norman. That gave me some good training opportunities. I also got the Devon Goods back from Team Aqua and set foot on Dewford.

Candela's Hoenn Journal: Day 4 Where was I last at... oh right, Route 111, after meeting Aurune. So after healing with the nice old lady at route 111, I went to do some back tracking. The Electrike egg hatched along the way, male so I nicknamed him Quick. I temporarily switched my battle style to set just to train him. Anyway, I spent the day training him, as well as chaining for Skarmory for a bit. Missed one with Stealth Rocks... eh, I can live with that. Over at Fallabor, I noticed that QUICK BALLS ARE FOR SALE OVER HEAR **** YEAH! I've been searching for Quick Balls since the beginning. I'm mad that my Electrike isn't in a Quick Ball. But eh, now I can catch HA Pokemon in Quick Balls. :D Also, I noticed that every Pokeball now gets the Premier Ball bonus. Anyway, went and saved Professor Cozmo, Electrike evolved during the process. And since I tend to get distracted with ORAS when I still have assignments to do, I ended my journey early. Also, I've been doing the Pokemon Contest Spectacular just to get more Comet Shards. Dang I need more money. ~End Day 4~ Current Team:Scepteelee | Grovyle M | Lv 29 Charming | Linoone M | Lv 29 Amimi | Skitty F | Lv 29 Tally | Swellow F | Lv 29 Quick | Manectric M | Lv 26 |
Day: 005 [Nov. 25, 2014]
A lot of my morning was spent EV training my Swampert in Super Training and then spending a bit of time with it in Pokémon Amie. And by a lot I do mean a lot. I already get distracted enough as it is, so I actually spent a good chunk of my time doing this. xD After I was done, however, I decide to head on towards the Gym! As expected I am stopped by a Kecleon mysterious, invisible object, so I have no option but to pass by the city. After getting a glimpse of Steven, I follow him up to the next route where I see him once more and he, for what seems to be the 50th time, gives me yet another gift: the Devon Scope! With the item in hand I head on back to the Gym, use it to startle the Kecleon out of the way and proceed to go inside! The mechanics for this Gym were relatively easy, but definitely an improvement from previous ones. I quite enjoyed how the "puzzles" worked, regardless of not needing much thought to them. I then reach the lovely Winona and challenge her to a battle! With an overpowered starter [thanks to using it almost exclusively all throughout], she does not pose a threat and I manage to beat her with relative ease. I am now capable of using Fly! First thing I do is get my Shiny Beldum from my PokéBank to take it to Mr. Stone over at Rustboro City to get that nice little dialogue piece from him. It's not much, but I wanted to be able to read it in-game nonetheless. After that I return to Fortree City and make my way through the horde of trainers that await me in the upcoming Routes ahead. I bump into Team Magma, who mention something about going to Mt. Pyre, but continue on ahead to Lilycove City to both be able to Fly back to it later and heal up my Pokémon. My Wynaut egg also hatched on the way there! After all of that is done I head on down to Mt. Pyre! Once I arrive I am instantly greeted with a Shuppet, an absolute delight to see since Ghost is one of my two favorite Pokémon types [Aside from Water. Ghost tends to be in the lead more than half of the time, but the on other half they're tied, so.]. After a rather depressing [though oddly filled with happy music when meeting other trainers] climb through Mt. Pyre, I reach the top. I battle the Grunts and reach the top, where Maxie has just acquired stolen the Red Orb. I take the Blue Orb [as the screen shakes and pulses eerily] and I go to Slateport in pursuit of Maxie! Once I get there I witness their successful Submarine stealing operation. I fly back to Lilycove, where Team Magma's hideout is, save and turn in for the night. ~My team up until this point: Quote:

Just beat the E4 for the first time. The credits are actually nice this time around, but really dang slow. After the credits was a little lackluster though :\ Here was my final team:
http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/sceptile.gif Clyde the Sceptile @ Sceptilite (Lvl 64) Ability: Overgrow Dual Chop| Leaf Blade | X-Scissor | Detect I completely neglected the poor guys Sp. Atk but I plan to do a complete overhaul of his attacks. http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/manectric.gif Andi the Manectric @ Safety Goggles (Lvl 56) Ability: Static Discharge | Thunder Wave | Flamethrower | Secret Power Was originally just for Secret Power but then became a main member when she destroyed Winona. http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/gallade.gif Wally the Gallade @ Metronome (Lvl 57) Ability: Steadfast False Swipe | Psycho Cut | Swords Dance | Close Combat A great Pokemon that didn't get to see too much battling after getting hit with critical hits everytime I revived him. http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/skarmory.gif Irene the Skarmory @ Quick Claw (Lvl 51) Ability: Sturdy Fly | Rock Smash | Steel Wing | Slash Was originally an HM slave but has helped a ton of times, especially against Phoebe http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/gyarados.gif Dave the Gyarados @ Bright Powder (Lvl 47) Ability: Intimidate Waterfall | Crunch | Dive | Surf My other HM slave that I got way late into the game (Sootopolis late). He was really useful for getting around Froslass. http://www.pkparaiso.com/imagenes/xy/sprites/animados/sandslash.gif Shelly the Sandslash @ Lucky Egg (Lvl 55) Ability: Sand Veil Earthquake | Stone Edge | Gyro Ball | Strength Another late catch since I removed half of my original team for new members. Stone Edge destroyed most of Drake's team and Earthquake nearly killed M-Metagross twice before Steven used Full Restore and Giga Impact. |
Today I have now collected all the gym badges, and preparing to challenge the Pokemon league. Since I have the last gym badge, the Shiny Mew my friend gave me can now obey me. Also, I CAUGHT KYOGRE WITH A REGULAR POKEBALL! #BraggingRights {XD}
My team: Swampert (has mega stone) Sceptile Charizard Zebstrika Shiny Mew |
I beat Brawly. He was much easier than Roxanne really; I literally 2HKOed his Makuhita with Marshtomp (thanks to the Super Training I did); the only thing it did back was Sand Attack. I delivered the letter to Steven in Granite Cave. I was surprised that Granite Cave changed a lot since Gen III. I was expecting to go through a dark maze to reach Steven, but he was in the room the Ruin Maniacs were blocking. The dark maze must be the one where the Mach Bike is needed, but I'm not up to that point yet.
I went to Slateport and the nostalgia of listening to its music was simply overwhelming. I also cleared Team Aqua out of the museum and met Archie. Day: 006 [Nov. 26, 2014]
Today was a relatively short day. I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked on the game, having been busy for a lot of the day. Regardless, let's get on to my journey! I start off by making Team Magma's Hideout my #1 priority! Once there I immediately fall in love with how it's designed. It looks absolutely stunning. I love how they kept the teleportation pads, especially the original animation where your character twirls into the air, that was freakin' great. The lava being visible through the transparent pipes was also a really nice touch. I make my way through their base, talking to every Grunt along the way and enjoying the quirky conversations this game never ceases to have, finding Courtney and Tabitha's rooms [with really nice touches about their personalities] and then stealing Maxie's Master Ball before reaching the last area. After fighting a horde of Team Magma Grunts [which I thought was really cool], I find Courtney along their... interestingly re-designed submarine. I fight her, giving Team Magma the necessary time to escape, and am given a hint as to their next location by Courtney herself. She is honestly one of my favorite characters in the game. With that, I leave the hideout, get on my Pelipper and Surf towards Mossdeep City! It was actually really nice to finally get to reach this place after having played the demo. It gave me a different sort of nostalgic feeling outside of the original game, which was really nice. After speaking to everyone, getting my Super Rod and investigating the Shoal Cave, I make my way to the 7th Gym! Ok, yeah, I really like this Gym. The battles, as per usual, were nothing special, but the interior design, along with the traveling mechanics in which you float, were a super nice touch. After battling every trainer, I walk float up to Tate and Liza! So far they have my favorite pre-battle pose/stance animation. I did not expect them to have only two Pokémon [especially since they were immediately out in the field due to it being a Double Battle], but I beat them nonetheless and got my 7th Gym Badge! One more to go! I head out of the Gym to witness an earth-shaking beam of light emerge from the middle of the sea. Steven is nearby and notices the same thing, walking up to me and offering to go speak in privacy. Once we reach his home he lets me know that the light we had just seen was a sign that the seal holding the Ancient Pokémon has been broken, something I do not remembering being a part of the original game [the beam of light, I mean] and is heavily appreciated. He then gives me Dive, trusting in me to help him out against Team Magma and tells me where I could try to find them. After this I head out, work on changing a couple of party members [which I will list below] before saving, turning the game off and calling it a night! ~ My team up until this point: Quote:

Finally got Alpha Sapphire, just reached Petalburg Woods so far
My team: Treecko Lv9 Beldum Lv8 I also have a Taillow, 2 Lotads (second one caught while testing the hidden pokemon feature) and a Wingull, these will be placed in the PC eventually. |
Day Six of my Travel Journal:
Well my events of yesterday started with me going to Team Aqua's Hideout. While I was there, one of the researchers told me something about Aqua Admin Shelly's past. I of course remembered to get the Master Ball while I was there. One of the battles there was quite interesting since I had to battle quintuplets. The last battle I did there was against Aqua Admin Matt. After beating him, I left the Team Aqua Hideout. After leaving Team Aqua's Hideout, I headed east to Mossdeep City. When I got there, one of the things I did was head to the gym. The gym battle against Tate and Lisa was too easy, one use of Surf from Luke knocked out both of their Pokemon. After leaving the gym it showed a cutscene where Team Aqua had succeeded in breaking the seal of the Seafloor Cavern. After the cutscene, I headed to Steven's house where he gave me Dive. I then left Mossdeep. I then decided to checkout dive spots on Routes 124 and 126. While I was on Route 126, I found another [Super] Secret Base. After checking the base out, I headed back to Route 125 and Shoal Cave. Course when I was at Shoal Cave, it was low tide so I was able to get most of the items. (I will need to go back at high tide to get the remaining items.) After leaving Shoal Cave, I headed through Routes 127 and 128. While on Route 128, I used Dive to reach the Seafloor Cavern. After entering Seafloor Cavern, I proceeded to make my way through it. When I reached Archie, I entered a battle against him. His Mega Sharpedo stood no chance against my Mega Swampert. After that, he succeeded in awakening Kyogre. After that, I needed to head to Sootopolis City. When I got to Sootopolis City, Steven and Wallace were waiting for me. When we headed to the Cave of Origin enterance, turns out that Maxie, Archie, and Shelly were waiting there. Then May showed up and friend zoned me. After a long conversation, I then entered and made my way through the Cave of Origin. When I reached close to the bottom, Kyogre showed up to take me to the Hoenn Core. After reaching the Hoenn Core, I proceeded to battle and catch Kyogre. After catching Kyogre, I exited the Cave of Origin. After a long cutscene, I made my way to the Sootopolis Gym. That was where I battled and defeated Wallace. After I defeated him, I headed back to Littleroot to get my Pokedex upgraded. After doing that, I headed to Route 115 to deal with some things. That was stopped for the night. I have currently seen 157 Pokemon and caught 66. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Swampert) L67/Naughty Hold Item: Swampertite Moves: Rock Slide, Surf, Earthquake, Dive Obi-Wan (Swellow) L58/Lax Hold Item: Amulet Coin Moves: Air Slash, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Fly Anakin (Manectric) L53/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Bite, Thunder Fang, Strength, Discharage Yoda (Torkoal) L53/Timid Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Secret Power, Earthquake, Flamethrower Ki-Adi (Shuppet -> Banette) L46/Quirky Hold Item: Banettite Moves: Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hex, Shadow Ball Mace Windu (to be caught) |
I've been playing my Omega Ruby since the first day I bought it (back in Sunday) and supposedly, I should be in Team Magma's hideout kicking Maxie's ass but heyah, here I am doing sidequests here and there because I don't want the storyline to be ending so quickly yet. xD
Overall, I did not experience any difficulties with the gyms, thanks to the Exp. Share and Pokemon-Amie. At this point, I guess I'm quite a bit overleveled too (most of trainers' Pokemon faint in one hit by my Absol's Night Slash or so... oh well). Here's my main team at the moment: Spoiler:
And here's some I got in my box, probably planning to be used sooner post-game (I usually develop one set of a team at a time) Spoiler:

Day 4:
Destroyed the rocks at Rusturf Tunnel, and the black belt gave me an aggronite! I was rather surprised. Haha. Went back to Mauville and up to the north. Destroyed the Winstrate's (is that how you spell it?) with crobat and grovyle. It was really easy. Bought Aerial Ace from the mart and taught it to both. Up the fiery path, and Aarune is there! Taught Secret Power to Linoone so that I can find another secret base if I want to. Played around with the new secret base. Totally lost touch with it and I must say... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Oh goodness, it's like having your own home in the games - though it's not very "secret" considering you can share the base with the world. What irony. The old woman in the house still insists on you resting at her residence, but she's kinda pointless now thanks to May. Went to Route 113, caught a skarmory using DexNav. That thing is a pain in the butt! It refused to be captured despite its health being in the red. Wasted nearly 10 pokeballs on this monster. The route is really pretty, but it's kinda sad to see no 3D volcanic ash. Absolutely upset with the flute guy. WHY DID GAMEFREAK REMOVE THE "HUFF PUFF"? Saving Prof. Cozmo from Meteor Falls. The place is absolutely gorgeous. The music is super too; love the echo so much. Got nearly knocked out by self destruct here but otherwise, no biggie. Electrike evolved into Manectric after the match. I've decided to keep Manectric in my team for now. Problem is I don't have a surf-capable pokemon yet, and Linoone's move sets are pretty full of HMs except secret power. Oh well, we'll see how it goes. The cable car view is just amazing. You weren't able to tell how tall Mt. Chimney was in the originals (duh). Still, kinda doesn't make sense how a cable car would bring you to a caldera. Maxie was a piece of cake. Manectric took out mightenya and golbat while grovyle got rid of camerupt. Jagged Pass. Sadly, I wasn't able to venture around a lot because I had a mach bike. Reached Lavaridge. Kinda disappointed that the hot spring has no more old ladies in it. Flannery was easy, but Torkoal was a lot bulkier than I thought. Decided to ditch May and went straight to the desert. Caught baltoy and trapinch, but I'll be training neither. Had a lot of fun trying to find hidden items. Decided to pick the claw fossil and headed back to Rustboro via Verdanturf to get it restored. ANORITH IS SHO CUTE! But at Lv20 it was a pain to train. Rematched with many trainers only to get knocked out quite a lot. Turned off EXP share from here on, because my team is generally over leveled. Decided to leave the trick house until postgame since there's no more trainer battles. Bought Power Up Punch from Mauville. Built a new secret base at Route 117 so that it's nearer to a city. Went to Slateport and boarded S.S. Peeko (yes I made that up). Explored the rest of Granite Cave now that I have the mach bike. Honestly, you do not need flash. It's still relatively easy to venture around the cave and I didn't use a single escape rope. Got the Steelixite inside. Cool, but I already have it in the demo. Grovyle evolved in the cave Rode S.S. Peeko back to Petalburg to contest in the gym. Destroyed all trainers with relative ease. Taught Sceptile Power Up Punch and tried that against daddy. Too easy. Luckily I saved before fighting him, so I'm going to try again tomorrow without using Power Up Punch. Retailiate does hurt though. End of day 4. EDIT: I always confuse Rusturf Tunnel with Granite Cave. Current team: Spoiler:

Day 1
Only got the game yesterday evening after many soft resettings got a female Torchic which I named MaiK(Meant to be MaiKa but clicked confirm by mistake so a trip to the name rater later on) after that levelled up Torchic a little and had the first round against Brendan, caught a few Pokemon and fought a few trainers. So far in my team(current will change later): MaiK the Torchic level 10(F) Tala the Poochyena Level 8(F) Yaki the Zigzagoon level 8 (F) (name will be changed to Yakima later on) Cari the Surskit level 7(M) and the most recent Ran the Ralts level 6(F) Yesterday was mostly catching pokemon and training them up which continues into day two...where I'll hopefully get to the first gym. Current Location Route 102(levelling up) |
Finally beat the game today. Managed to catch Rayquaza, but voiding catch Deoxys. Now I'm working on Super Training my team and them doing some online matches. Team:

Nintendo UK sent me my game a day early (European release is 28th, I got it 27th). Got it in the post at 11am today.
- Journey Began: 4:23pm on the 27th November, Thursday - Chose Mudkip as starter, named him Kipper. - Caught the special Poochyena who has Fire Fang but boxed him. - Spent the next 4 and a half hours searching for a Poochyena I was happy with, and I finally ended up with a Level 17, 1IV, HA, Poison Fang Poochy. Evolved him into Mightyena when he levelled up for the first time. Named him Chrome but will be changing it to DeWitt later on. - Spent further time looking for a good Zigzagoon. Ended up with a Level 12, 3IV+, Trick Zigzagoon. No HA but I didn't want it; he has Pickup so he was ideal. Named him Bandito. - During that period of time, I also caught a further few extra Pokémon (which I didn't intend to use, but collect for the moves/IVs). A male Ralts named Gallant, a female 3IV HA Taillow named Skydiver, a couple of Poochyena with Ice Fang and Leer (both 3IV+s I believe), and a couple others for the sake of completing that section of the DexNav. - Up until the 9 and a half hour mark, by which point I still hadn't entered Petalburg Woods*, I spent it searching for a good Taillow (and then commencing to attempt a shiny chain, which I broke because of lack of PP). Ended up with a Level 17, 3IV+, Sky Attack Taillow. No HA but I didn't want it; he has Guts so he was ideal. Named him Totem. - Did a bit of super training. Headed through Petalburg Woods, caught a Slakoth for the dex. Beat the Magma grunt and am now headed towards Rustboro. Current team: Marshtomp (Named Kipper. Level 20.) Mightyena (Named Chrome (will name DeWitt). Level 22, 1IV, HA, w/ Poison Fang.) Zigzagoon (Named Bandito. Level 14, 3IV, w/ Trick.) Taillow (Named Totem. Level 17, 3IV, w/ Sky Attack.) *I'm savouring the game, otherwise by this point I'd usually be over halfway through the story. :P |
Waited in line for a long time being Black Friday and what not, but I finally got my copy of Alpha Sapphire! Starting up the game, exploring practically everywhere and talking to almost everyone and I'm loving this game so far. Picked Mudkip as my starter and I'm about to download the Shiny Beldum event. n_n
Team http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemon/258.png Kippy Lv. 8 ♂ - Tackle - Growl - Water Gun |
Just defeated Wattson on my first try, it was a real challenge though as I don't have a pokemon super effective against electric type pokemon, now that I have defeated him I will head north towards Mt Chimney and hopefully catch a Numel, I also have a Wingull currently being raised by the Daycare, I'm going to use it temporarily until I can catch a Carvanah
My Team: Grovyle Lv25 Metang Lv24 Swellow Lv24 |
Day Seven of my Travel Journal:
Well, my events of yesterday were not very special. The first thing I did was use the Eon Flute so I could visit some of the mirage places. Seems certain mirage places have portals there for some reason. I then decided to go battle trainers in the water parts of Routes 105 through 109. I even stopped by the Sea Mauville. While I was exploring the Sea Mauville, I found an interesting amount of a certain something in one of the rooms. After finished up the Sea Mauville, I left there. I then headed to my [Super] Secret Base to deal with some things. After I finished up there, I then went to Route 111 where I found four more [Super] Secret Bases. After obtaining flags from those bases, I headed to Fortree. While I was at Fortree, I got my [Super] Secret Base's rank up to Bronze. After that, I stopped for the night. I have currently seen 166 Pokemon and caught 70. Star Wars Jedi Team Luke (Swampert) Gender: Male L70/Naughty Hold Item: Swampertite Moves: Ice Beam, Surf, Earthquake, Dive Obi-Wan (Swellow) Gender: Male L62/Lax Hold Item: Amulet Coin Moves: Air Slash, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Fly Anakin (Manectric) Gender: Male L57/Gentle Hold Item: Manectite Moves: Bite, Thunder, Strength, Discharge Yoda (Torkoal) Gender: Male L56/Timid Hold Item: None Moves: Rock Smash, Secret Power, Earthquake, Flamethrower Ki-Adi (Banette) Gender: Male L51/Quirky Hold Item: Banettite Moves: Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hex, Shadow Ball Mace Windu (to be caught) |
Has anyone else noticed that Azumarill takes a remarkably long time to learn Play Rough in this version, if at all? I'm 61 levels in, still no sign of the Fairy-type STAB.
If all else fails I'll just bank it back over to Y and Heart Scale Play Rough on (but I left that at home during the holiday). |
Day 5:
Did quite a lot of training today after defeating Daddy. I've decided to avoid PUP and use crobat's acrobatics, however his last Slaking still took me out with a single retaliate and it was more than 5 levels lower. Boohoo. Spent a good amount of time fishing for a carvahna. It is pretty rare with a good rod, or maybe it's just my luck. Quick balls are an ultimate lifesaver. It was at Lv25. Gave it all of my rare candies plus some training and it evolved into sharpedo at Lv30. It swims SUPER fast! Really pleased. It has terrific attacking power too! Southern Island is accessible in this game early, and here we get to fight Admin Courtney. I could have sworn that she's a robot. Plain weird. I had to give up one team member for Latios. I really needed a special attacker, so I had to bid adieu to anorith. It is one of my favorite pokemon, but thinking ahead... It might not be the best option anyway. Maybe I'll train it postgame for contests. Latios was at Lv30, quite a decent level. The trainers in eastern Hoenn caught up in levels rather quickly. I was so shocked to see a Lv36 pokemon while training up sharpie and latios. Luckily the battles were fine, and both pokemon managed to get very decent experience and caught up with the rest of the team. I love sharpedo. I've never really used one in any previous games, but man it has got the attacking power. Sadly it has mediocre defenses but oh well, at least it's fast enough. Fortree City. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. This is perhaps the best remastered city in the games. The lucky me managed to get hidden power in one go. I guess I need to decorate my secret base with more items... But I'm pretty broke. Hey, at least my QR code is in the SD card now, so I'll upload it in the secret bases thread tomorrow! Whizzed past all trainers on early Route 120 to Steven, and went back to the gym. It was easy, a lot easier than I thought. I'm not that overleveled either (I didn't use my regulars, only sharpedo and latios which was just only a level higher). On the other hand, I lost to Winona nearly thrice in the originals. Did some flying and backtracking after the gym. Bought some quick balls from Fallarbor and visited mom to get the amulet coin. Did some berry planting too! Still no idea where's the lucky egg, but you don't really need it in this game. You can fly to routes and cave entrances now, which is awesome but arrived a little too late. Route 120 is absolutely gorgeous, and I can't emphasize that enough. There are many trainers in this route and they do put up a decent fight. Metang evolved into metagross! I'm currently at the regi chamber area. End of Day 5. My team so far: Spoiler:

FINALLY, OmegaRuby came out in Europe! I started my adventure today (as May, because I prefer her design over Brendan's). I'm currently in Petalburg City. Everything going smoothly so far.
Team: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/255.png Volcanita, female, lv 9 http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/278.png Pedro, male, lv 7 (haven't used a Pelipper in a long time) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/280.png New 34, female, lv7 (already she's a friggin' beast!) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/374.png Beldum, idontcare, lv7 (i'll try to use him as little as possible, but he does have Hold Back which will be useful for catching legendaries) |
Just outside Petalburg Woods. It's taken an age to get anywhere because of the dexnav, in the end I just decided I didn't need the best Pokémon and it would be more fun to "go with my heart". Every time a Pokémon pops out of the grass I can't help but head towards it though.
Team right now: Torchic (M) lv 11 Lotad (M) lv 11 Ralts (F) lv 4 My Lotad is bashful (shy), which I find really funny since that's not like Ludicolo at all. Ralts needs a good deal more training to catch up. It's weird but back in the original games I never ever encountered a Surskit in the wild, and this time one of them pops out of the grass in no time at all. |
Alpha Sapphire Update:
-Things have changed since the last update -Obtained all the Gym Badges, getting ready to challenge the Elite Four -Using Wondertrade. I get tons of Zigzagoons and Whismurs |
Ok, so received Omega Ruby today - would have rather had Sapphire for some reason, but it's all good.
Day 001: The moving lorry dropped me off, after that almost lethal and completely unsafe drive from Johto to Hoenn I survive the trip. After doing all the preliminary introductions to everyone in Littleroot, I find Professor Birch and see him being attacked by what can only be described as a puppy. I chose Treecko, purely based on Mega Sceptile - it looks awesome! After receiving the Pokémon and getting the Pokédex I moved out. Learning all the new stuff - Sneaking and identifying the different aspects of the Nav is awesome. After fiddling and getting to Oldale I get the potion and go battle May. All that jazz. Afterwards, I started building my team. I have the Thunder Fang Poochyena, but caught a few others attempting to use the Nav. Ultimately, my team came out to being:
I got a few special Pokémon in there, Wingulls with Pretty Wings and similar, Zigzagoon with an alternate Ability etc. I completed the Rustboro gym, was a breeze with Treecko - Absorb and the better one made it incredibly simple. Not looking forward to Winona's gym though. So that pretty much takes us up to now, I'm now in Dewford after saving Peeko from the evil Magma Grunt. After that, I took Briney's boat to the next port where I am currently going through the Gym, training up my Ralts. After moving out of Slateport, I decided that I would call it a night. After several hours playing, both my character and me are extremely tired. |
Okay, I just delivered the Letter to Steven. Kinda dissapointed that I can't catch Mawile until later in the game, but oh well. The amount of in-jokes and references to the originals is insane! So far, the Shroomish nicknamed "Pekachu" might be the funniest thing in the game! That and the thin guy transforming into a hiker after giving away his Float Stone!
Team: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/256.png Volcanita, female, lv 18 (pretty much steam-rolled Roxanne's team) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/278.png Pedro, male, lv 15 (he's starting to get some decent STAB moves) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/280.png New 34, female, lv15 (utterly destroyed Brawly's Gym. Disarming Voice is actually a pretty good move that early in the game) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/374.png Beldum, idontcare, lv15 (I think I only used him in two battles so far. The only reason he catches up on the levels is because of the Exp. share) |
Got out of the back of a moving truck and set foot in Littleroot town. My adventure begins :D
|
After heavy consideration and not being comfortable with the way I had been playing the game so far and how I worked on some things, I have decided to restart my game. So, from here on out I will be starting from scratch, "re-formatting" the Journal on here to start from Day 1 once more, and I'll be putting a little more detail on my team as I go along, including moves, natures and the like. In any case, let's jump right in!
~Day 001~ Once I start the game I am welcomed with that gorgeous intro that calls back to the original game by having your character re-play the introduction from Ruby and Sapphire. Even if I have already seen this, I can't stop but feel so nostalgic and then so overjoyed by the following scene showcasing the Pokémon in the wild as Birch's speech goes on and your truck makes its way towards Littleroot Town. I honestly love this so much. I choose my gender and my name and then the truck's doors open up, greeting me into the fantastic world of Hoenn. Here is where my new journey begins! I step outside and walk into my new home, loving the sight of the moving Pokémon I remember oh-so well from the original. After "setting up" my clock, I go out and meet May for the second time, remembering just how much I enjoyed the way they handled this scene. As she leaves I go out and search for Prof. Birch, only to find out he is being attacked by a Poochyena! After I spend a couple of seconds just standing there, having both the scene and the music bring back some wonderful memories, I walk over to the bag and choose my brand new starter, Treecko! [I actually did this quite a couple of times trying to get an ideal nature for him. Don't tell anyone.] After saving him from what is probably one of the most patheric endearing intros for a Professor, we go back to his lab where he lets me keep Treecko and makes me go out in search of his daughter. I go on to Route 103 where I find May staring out into a really nice looking stretch of forest, a touch I really like since it makes way more sense than the original [where she was staring into nothing, basically]. I have my first Pokémon Battle with her, we head back to Littleroot Town and then I receive my very own Pokédex [My personal favorite design for it, too], along with some Pokéballs! I head on out on my adventure, immediately bumping into May on the way to Oldale Town. She reteaches me how to Sneak and use the DexNav and then I spend an unnecessarily long time trying to catch a good, Hidden Poochyena with at least a neutral nature. After I catch him I leap with joy and make my way towards Petalburg City. Once I arrive at Petalburg City, I talk to everyone I can before heading up and "meeting" my dad. We head inside the Gym where, after a small chat, we are interrupted by none other than Wally! I help him catch his very first Pokémon, a male Ralts, and then we head back. I exchange a few words with my dad and, after letting me know I should get at least 4 badges before facing him, I am off to continue my adventure! I immediately go and try to find a Ralts to add to my team. Once I find and capture one, I use the DexNav to continue to try and find more so I could at least get a Jolly, Male Ralts. I literally spent the rest of my night doing this [Though I did catch a good number of Synchronized Ralts, which is pretty great]. It took so long I stopped caring whether it had any stars at all in its "Potential" and just used a Synchronized Jolly Poké I had in PokéBank to help me catch it. Luckily, although I end up finding one with an egg move, Synchronoise! I happily take my catch, head back to Petalburg City, save and then call it a night. ~My Current Team: Quote:

Candela's Hoenn Journal: Day 5 & 6
Morning: I stormed through Team Magma at Mt. Chimney, and completely ignoring May during the process. Sorry, but I was doing business at Route 115 first, fell down and had to go through Rusturf tunnel again. Don't judge. And then I head to Lavaridge, ignoring trainers cause I got lucky enough to avoid them all. Skitty evolved 'cause I'm not too interested in her level up moves. Nearly lost against Flannery, but I had to leave so I just turned it off for the morning. Night: I went and defeated Flannery. May gave me the Go-Goggles, giving me access to Route 111's desert ,and offered me a trip to Petalburg. I refused, since I want to catch a Trapinch first. The desert. I spent some time searching for items, pick up the Claw Fossil as well as catching a male Trapinch nicknamed Skywind. I then head to Jagged Pass to battle the trainers I've missed. After some decent leveling, I came back to Lavaridge and went to Petalburg with May ('cause I'm lazy to walk all the way back). Reaching Petalburg, I switched to Scepteelee and taught him Dig to dodge Retaliate. Defeated Norman on first try. I was expecting his last Slaking to use Retaliate, but it ended up using Chip Away at its first turn. I have to say, Retaliate looks good with the gym's background. Anyway, went outside and met Wally. And then I got the HM for Surf and went to Mauville, no wait Route 118, along with him. But I have no time for that! I travelled back to Rustboro to revive the Claw Fossil, got a Male Anorith nicknamed Rock J (for some reason). I then travelled north to rebuild my old Secret Base, yay! ...and then I remembered that it has a hole in it. Well... at least Scepteelee evolved after battling the trainers there. Went back through Route 103, played with the Trick House while I was at it. I went back to Route 118 and met Steven. Met Latios, and then he joined me. Steven even gave me the Mega-Bracelet. Nice, now Quick can Mega-Evolve aka. time to switch up the moves to Special. I then blasted through Route 119, ignoring all the trainers to get to the water route. You guys know why. Anyway, spent the night fishing for Feebas. Caught one female with Mirror Coat, nicknamed Lamiroir. Day 6: Uneventful, only maxed out Lamiroir's beauty stat. Next time: Weather Institute and reaching Lilycove to get the Clearance Sale aka. blasting through all the trainers including Winona (Quick will definitely own her). ~End Day 5 & 6~ Current Team: Scepteelee | Sceptile M | Lv 36 Charming | Linoone M | Lv 31 (boxed) Amimi | Skitty F | Lv 32 Tally | Swellow F | Lv 30 (boxed) Quick | Manectric M | Lv 30 Skywind | Trapinch M | Lv 27 Rock J | Anortih M | Lv 22 Lamiroir | Feebas F | Lv 15 |
Update!
Today, I just defeated Tate and Liza one-handedly with my team of Mega Absol and Roserade. Absol is at Level 46-47-ish and Roserade is at Level 55. The battle was quick, though Liza's Lunatone managed to hit my Roserade quite hard. Soon after the events of Groudon, I taught my HM assistant Gyarados Dive and followed the storyline all along. The battle against Primal Groudon managed to knock out both of my overleveled Blaziken and Roserade so I decided to use Swellow, since 2 out of 3 Groudon's strongest attack didn't have any effects (Lava Plume only cut half of Swellow's HP and when he was burned, he toughened it out for me aww). After some damaging with Brave Bird and Aerial Ace, I finally caught it with an Ultra Ball (3-4 times trying). Yay! Anyhow, the scene after we beat Groudon was so touching. I literally have tears on my eyes. Sobs. Now it's Sootopolis Gym left! I'm suspending it for a while because real life commitments go first. And my current team is: Spoiler:

Just beat Wattson, saved Wally's cousin's relationship and cleared the first three Trick House challenges (that last one was a little trippy near the end). Gotta say, for a big city, Mauville is actually surprisingly easy to navigate compared to its predeccessors.
also... poor Game Corner owner :( :( :( Team: http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/256.png Volcanita, female, lv 31 (as expected, she's shaping up into quite the powerhouse. easily took out Wattson's team) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/279.png Pedro, male, lv 27 (he's finally starting to become good and will only get better) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/281.png New 34, female, lv 28 (already OHKOing things with Draining Kiss. can't wait for her to evolve) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/375.png Metang, idontcare, lv 27 (why am I keeping this again? oh yeah, shiny...) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/icon/303.png Jawn Jawnes, male, lv 24 (the newest member of the team and also the hardest to work with. doesn't help that it takes it an eternity to learn a move of its own darn type) |
