La Espada November 28th, 2014 6:35 AM

Like meany others, I only use it in the post game. I learned from X/Y that that thing needs to be turned off immediately if you want any kind of challenge.

Death November 28th, 2014 6:37 AM

I kept it off except for when I needed to train a new, weaker Pokemon which wasn't at all often.

After the E4, I now have it switched on permanently.

Creator Limbs November 28th, 2014 7:22 AM

The difficulty without exp share is artificial. You bet I kept it on.

Making the game harder is a matter of reducing the critical hit ratio and decreasing the damage.

Chibi-chan November 28th, 2014 12:25 PM

I kept it on to avoid the grind. My primary focus in ORAS isn't leveling my Pokemon, but making sure that I cover all the little aspects of the game completely. It's easier to complete the game 100% if you have high level Pokemon to plow through the usual obstacles.

RedJ November 28th, 2014 12:41 PM

I shut it off the moment I got it and only turned it on when I caught my Aron and bred my Poochyena so could get them caught up in levels faster. I've since beat the Elite Four and I stll leave it off, mainly because I made the mistake of not doing that quite a bit in X and Y and would end up leveling up Pokemon I didn't want to by accident.

The Fourteenth Doctor November 28th, 2014 1:00 PM

I've got it switched off for my current playthrough, I may switch it on after I've beaten the E4

Ivysaur November 28th, 2014 3:23 PM

I always have it on. I'm doing a N playthrough -catching a few new pokémon in each route and training them- and it would be a pain to do it without the cheap experience. My "extended team" currently has 9 members and I just finished Rustboro, with all of them on level 12. In Y I got to the league with about 25 mons on level 50-something so I'm expecting the same here.

Meganium November 28th, 2014 6:57 PM

I had it on and I figured it was something I'd rather keep on. I don't even know how my playthough would look like if I had it off. I don't think I've done any grinding on my Pokemon, which is good at least.

Virtual Headache November 29th, 2014 5:16 AM

I have it on and I'm going to keep it that way. I see no reason to keep it off just to make training take a lot longer, I'm already taking enough time to play through the game^^;

Pinkie-Dawn November 29th, 2014 8:23 AM

I turned it off until my planned team is fully EV trained. I wasn't aware that the Exp. Share was turned on the moment I received it, so I quickly turned it off.

Sheep November 29th, 2014 8:34 AM

Mine's been off since the beginning. I don't want to overlevel, especially since my team this time around is already pretty powerful haha.

Sopheria November 29th, 2014 8:46 AM

Turned it off as soon as I got it. I tried the Exp Share out during my second playthrough of Y, and it just made the game wayyyy too easy. However, I might use it in the postgame to make building up my competitive team a bit easier.

GhostTrainer November 29th, 2014 8:59 AM

I kept it on, and it surprisingly didn't overpower my Pokemon.

Dedenne1 November 29th, 2014 11:29 AM

Yep kept it on since i got it balances the team for me and keeps pokemon that im not using on my main team trained its great for nuzlockes too!

Outsethero November 29th, 2014 2:59 PM

I figured I'd make a new reply here now that I've restarted the game. I'm actually keeping it off this time around, trying to play the game while actually working on a team, something I have never done since I'd usually just use my starter throughout the story. I'll update this if I ever go back to using it, but for the time being it's off!

Nakala Pri November 29th, 2014 7:05 PM

I kept it on at the beginning, but then I turned it off when I needed to level up Pokemon specificity, like my Swablu, who was level 20 and the other guys were approaching level forty. xD

I turned it on just now, since they're gettin' a tad under leveled.

morrison November 30th, 2014 4:18 AM

i dont like the ep share it is still like the gen 1 share and which i didnt like because it takes ages to get all the bla bla got xx exp . i want to be able to choose between the gen 2 to 5 exp share and the 1 and 6 share.

Moonlight Shadow November 30th, 2014 8:46 AM

I turned it off immediately after I got it,want a bit of a challenge. My current team are all the same level at the moment focusing on one member at a time...I may switch it on later on who knows?

Disolia November 30th, 2014 9:16 AM

As stated in previous topics. I found that experience share system to be an undesirable overly non-challenging feature, so much so that I immediately turned off upon receiving the device.
Though even with that stated, I do understand the implication of this device is to decrease the amount of time you waste idling training on this game, to allow the player to reach their goal in a reasonable amount of time. I however, actually enjoy the training process, and don't mind the additional life expenditure.

ilias_ November 30th, 2014 12:15 PM

I kept it off for a while but I turned it on later. I don't have enough time to play so it makes things easier!

Pepperton November 30th, 2014 12:22 PM

I've had it on. Just helps me get lower leveled pokemon up to speed, which is generally a very annoying and tedious process.

Oddi November 30th, 2014 2:27 PM

I keep it on because I like being overleveled.

My rule when I play any of the games is to be level twenty by the first gym leader, then ten levels per leader after that, so by the time I'm at the elite four, my pokemon are already at like level 75 or 80~ maybe even 90 if I really stuck by it all the way through, which I usually don't, but it's a good way to get me started. I don't like to spend too much time battling NPC's.

Lilycove November 30th, 2014 2:56 PM

I kept it on. Really love the feature, because I wanted to finish the game ASAP, I much prefer post-game.

Warspirit December 1st, 2014 5:14 PM

I turned it off shortly after I got it. I want to challenge myself, as I have always used exp shares in previous games and it's become easy. If my pokemon start to get behind though you can bet I'm turning it back on. (And for gym leader battles I'll most likely turn it back on)

ArcanineWithABow December 1st, 2014 6:31 PM

I just turned mine off. I needed it to catch up some of my newer Pokemon. I am only in Slateport City and it's nice with an Abra who could only use Teleport and a Magikarp.

Way better than the ol' switch out and take a hit.
