This sounds pretty cool! But what do you guys plan on doing for the holidays? Frankly I really won't be doing much besides getting in the holiday spirit :) But I'll definitely decorate a tree like this:
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
So yeah guys! Merry Christmas I guess! It's like 23 days before Christmas in my time now and we just put up our Christmas Tree in our home haha :3 http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif
Tbh in my country like, the Christmas season started like last September and we are pretty much used to it haha :P Kinda irritating tbh since gdi, its too early but hey, it's the christmas spirit! Have you guys did your Christmas decor yet? |
https://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltuvu03dWK1qip80b.gif http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx142/pixelypeach/winter/1208u_03.gif http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx142/pixelypeach/winter/081213p109_104_mn.gif I actually haven't decorated a tree in years, we moved several times so our tree (and all the ornaments) has been in storage for quite some time. :< I think my dad wants to throw a Christmas party this year though, and if he does he has to bring the tree back, 'cause you can't have a Christmas party without a Christmas tree. On the topic of Christmas decorations, I kinda want to get this and hang it on my door. It's so cute. ♥ Anyone start Christmas shopping yet? |
Haven't decorated a tree since my parents divorced 3 years ago. Plans for this holiday though will be the same as every year, christmas eve with my dad's family and christmas day with my mom's. Then the day after christmas I have to help my dad move out.
Merry Christmas. http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
We celebrate Christmas every year with the presents, feast and getting together as a family! We also usually pull out the tree and decorate it with things we've made when we were 5 or 6 and a few christmas ornaments from different stores. This year's Christmas is gonna be different though. I believe we'll be celebrating Christmas in either London, Paris or Italy depending on where we are in our Europe tour. It's gonna be pretty exciting for all of us. :) Hopefully it'll be snowing as well since I've never seen it snow nor built a snowman or any of the other stuff people do around this time. And I've never celebrated a Winter Christmas either which sounds unbelievable as it does to you as it does to me. XD Anyway yeah! Merry Christmas to you guys even though it's ages away. I'm looking forward to it already. <3 |

I wanna join , I like Christmas and winters |
Welcome everyone! I'll edit the list asap <3
I always spend Christmastime with my mom's side of the family, but this year I'm spending it at home instead because of family issues and such. I don't mind it, I guess it's less food to make. I really love that Christmas has the spirit of giving. Like Aslan, I haven't really experienced a white Christmas myself..being a California gal and all...and maybe in the future I'll have one. It's on my bucket list haha. Any traditions you guys may have that like to share? |
A tradition I have for Christmas is to drink hot coco every other day til the 24. On the 25 we exchange chocolate to eat.
|
I think i'll join this club, why not. (:
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif Anyway, for our Christmas tradition we spend time at home, and we have our nana (from my mother's side) over. The past two years we hosted Christmas Eve parties at our house, and the day after Christmas we go to our grandparents' house to see our cousins. |
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif
Because my family is pretty damn Italian, we host an event called Feast of the Seven Fishes. It's essentially exactly as it sounds, where each member of our family brings a different fish item for Christmas Eve and basically we all chow down on some Italian delicacies. Even though what my Dad makes has more of an "American-flair" to it, he makes these shrimp that are fried with batter; combine it with a little salt and dear god, it's one of the most delicious things in the world. |
I'd love to join but I can't seem to add images to my post.
I keep receiving an error message. I don't have any smilies in my post. Anything I can do to try and resolve this problem? ): Axeliira edit: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
Mine is pretty dang Mexican. Like, we would have our Tamales ready two days before Christmas, and then there's the special hot fruit punch ("ponche" as most of us would refer to), and there's also the awesome "let's stay up till midnight" tradition. When I was little, me and my cousins would go to bed really early (like around 9 pm), and the grown-ups would ring the jingle bells and tell us that Santa has arrived. We always open our presents at midnight and not Christmas morning. xD

Welcome to PC, and welcome to the club! :D |
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif
ahaha now that i'm an adult there are no traditions... it used to be that, since my parents have been divorced forever, we'd spend christmas eve and morning with mom and open all our presents from her side of the family, then go meet dad. when my brother and i were really young we'd all go to grandma & grandpa's for lunch and dinner, but since my dad remarried everyone came to the conclusion that it was easier to not corral my stepbrothers and instead my grandparents and uncle went to dad's. tbh our actual big family thing is thanksgiving rather than christmas. this year i am truly an adult and have to work every day besides christmas day. yaaaaaaay. also nobody is within day driving range this year so whatever? |

I guess it wouldn't hurt giving this a shot... besides well, the holiday spirit is always fun. So yeah, I'm definitely in and with the obligatory Christmas tree!
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif My last few Christmases weren't that very jolly to be honest, we didn't even bother with decorations lately because we are just too damn busy and given that Christmas here is celebrated in the summer there's that annoying heat to deal with. But the cool thing is that Australians love to celebrate in a unique way, to fit in with the hot climate. In past years I never really had a tradition, it was just hanging decorations up and having a typical Christmas meal on the big day. |
I want to join in! But I'll post the image some other time, because I'm on my phone and ugh :( that okay?
Sadly, my Christmases have been going worse and worse. It's probably because I'm not a kid anymore and don't get many presents. Axeliira edit: http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
I don't get as many actual presents anymore but I do get more clothes and christmas cards filled with money, both of which are highly appreciated. Used to I'd get like one or two small things from each family member, but it's much better this way.
|

However I do feel weird every time I ask my mother to get the games, because she thinks Pokemon is for kids and I'm in my early 20's. Expect my Christmas to be boring again since I don't bother with the decorations these days hahahaha. |
You know that sometimes Christmas is not all about the presents and such...at least for me. It's all about getting together with your family, and reminiscing all the moments that this year has brought us. Usually I don't like asking my loved ones what I want for Christmas. I did when I was little, but now as a grown-up..not so much. :p
It's overwhelming when you feel forced to buy presents for peeps, but trust me...you will feel better in the end. :) |
in my country, Sinterklaas (St Nicholas, december 5; tomorrow!) is the children's holiday where everyone gets presents, so Christmas has never been like that for me. i guess my Christmases have been more like what would be Thanksgiving in the US; i meet with my entire dad's side of the family on Christmas Day, which is about 20 people in total, and we all have like a 5-course dinner together and catch up. my mom's side of the family we used to visit on Boxing Day, but nowadays oftentimes we can't get the whole family together so we just meet up sometime later.
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
You know, I'm actually at the age where I'm supposed to start buying Christmas presents for my family and friends and like... wow that's actually really hard? Mainly for the adults. I don't know what adults like. I am not a true adult.
Like, I can get my brothers Minecraft paraphernalia and they'll be happy. My other friends like Doctor Who and Rooster Teeth. Easy. But the adults? They don't like "stuff". They are practical and want things they can use idk. And it's awkward if you get it wrong. |
I feel the same way, personally - it's not that I don't want to buy Christmas presents for others, I just have a hard time thinking of what to get them.
And this Saturday we're going to a party that some of the friends of our parents host annually, and we get more than a few visitors we don't see often. On another note I do like seeing lights everywhere across the roads near our house. (: |
I actually want to Christmas shop for my friends and family this year, but I am horrible with gift ideas, and I have no money to spend either. >_>
Also, my parents decorated the house in full this year, yay! Last year, they only put up a tree and that was it. http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
I always have the darndest time thinking of what to get my parents. Friends and younger family members are so much easier.
|
I already did buy one Christmas gift though, and that's for a Secret Santa exchange at a party I'll be going to later this month.
|
I'm much better at giving things when I have no obligation to? Like I'll just buy my friends things if I want them to have it (Pokémon Y, Omega Ruby, and a 3DS for one of them; the Phoenix Wright Trilogy for a few, random stuff that they would like) for no reason. I like spending money on people. I just don't like feeling like I have to esp when I have no real ideas for them.
|
Speaking of which, I had thoughts of getting a 3DS and maybe SSB for my brother, since he enjoyed occasionally playing Brawl back when that was the thing. One time when we had some of our folks over they played that on our Wii, which it was nice that they enjoyed. The last really big Christmas present I got was this MacBook two years ago, and I got that even before Christmas day since I needed it soon.

I can't believe Christmas is just 19 days away from where I'm at! Although first come all those exams and then the huge homework packets I have for school. But it's the price to pay for not having my own money for gifts and I take my mother's money...
Besides that, the thing I love most about Christmas is the food! Sure family time and the presents are good, but nothing beats food! |
Christmas, eh? Ah, I wanna buy my friends and family presents and have a tree like this:
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif Ah, so sad I don't have much money to work with, I wanna spoil 'em all! |

I'll join this! The Halloween one was fun, even though I sort of forgot about it. XD
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif As for traditions (if this is the topic), it's usually just the presents, putting up the tree and decorations, listening to holiday music... stuff like that. I could really go on forever. I'm an only child, so I usually get quite a bit during the season. Also, I'm with Anna... my dad is SO hard to get things for. This year, we did pretty good though. Thing is, my mom is a child herself, so she likes really anything. |
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif
I have to say I'm not yet completely in the Christmas mood, since it's just started getting really cold a few days ago. Probably because we haven't decorated the house yet too, but I guess that'll happen sometime this week. |
I've got a question for y'all: if you decorate your Christmas tree, what is your favorite ornament that you like to put on it?
|
we decorated our christmas tree yesterday! well, at my parents' house that is. we actually have two trees; one big family tree and one (fake) smaller one that my parents bought when me and my brother were little, so we could decorate one ourselves without constantly being pricked and so we wouldn't have to put the lights in ourselves every year, haha.
when we got a little older we got these two beautiful glass ornaments with snow inside. one eventally broke, but the other is still my favourite ornament to put in our little tree. c: |
I wasn't able to decorate my tree this year. Only my mom did, and the tradition was to decorate with the whole family. However, I was able to participate in some decorative activities with my co-workers. I bought a pre-lit tree and some ornaments that matched the store logo's colors. Then we had a pot luck this past weekend where I had bought Christmas-decorative cupcakes. They were pretty good. <3
I'll take a picture of my tree sometime! Maybe you guys should do the same too. :) & for those who have joined, welcome! Sorry for my absence, will update OP asap. |
We haven't decorated a Christmas tree for a while now, but back when we did I liked the glassblown things. We had a couple of them but the one I liked the most had a red jewel in the middle and then glass spiraled from a point at the top of the ornament from which the jewel hung and then it turned into a bell at the bottom which the jewel acted as the ringer thingy. It was really pretty.
|
My parents got their Christmas tree last Saturday while I was out. When I came home to prepare for the party we were attending, they hadn't done anything with it aside from set it up in our living room.
Some students at my college hang lights in their dorm or apartment room, but I don't bother to do that. But when I get home, it'll be nice passing by the houses that have lights wrapped on their fences and homes, too. |
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif
I'm definitely joining, haha. I've finished purchasing all Christmas presents for my family last month. For my mom, it was cosmetics; for father, it was hand-watch; and for sister, it was some DS games. In-total, all of it had cost about $250 to $300. More offers have popped up within the last few days, however, so I wish I had waited a little longer so that I would've been able to save a bit of money. I'm buying some things for few of my close friends this weekend, but not sure what they will actually be. Thus far, for my boyfriend, I'm planning on getting him a Legend of Zelda game for his 3DS. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be much of a big fan of this series, so I'm hoping that if I get him to play more Zelda video games, he'll be getting into it more. Though, I'm still a bit unsure on it; if I get it for him and he doesn't wind up playing too much, it would kind of suck. |
Sure, why not...Christmas music on Classic FM is putting me in the mood for this. xD
http://www.u.arizona.edu/%7Epatricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif Our tree and decorations are going up over the weekend, I believe...they usually do in the second weekend of December, since all the school events my mother helps with take place in the first. We have the same CD on every year we're doing it...it's tradition. xD My shopping is now officially finished as well, now that my mother FINALLY decided what she wanted. If not for her indecision I would have been finished weeks ago; I buy presents as and when people find things they want, and everyone else found things they wanted earlier this year. My father found what he wanted in, like, September or something... |
So yeah, this year, we bought a new tree since our old one was like the same age as me (17) no joke. It still lives but it was kinda short so we bought a new one. Our ornaments on it is just some lights, ribbons, balls, and unfortunately we didnt add an ornament at the top, since I kinda want like a star or, in past years, an angel on top :3
OH and on this Thursday, I'm going to a Christmas Party with my college block and it's gonna be fun since after it, there's gonna be this univ-wide event full of free food, lights, and a very cool pyrotechnics show :O then the day after, I'm going to go back and enroll for my next sem =-= edit: 1 666th post gg no re |
I've grown to get used to real-life Christmas trees. It was always a tradition, because both of my parents never really grew up with a real-life tree. For a few years I've always wanted to switch to pre-lit trees because it's a hassle to clean up after the holidays with all the needles and such, and then you have to hire a dumpster truck just to pick up the dead tree. I guess the big advantage of a real tree is the smell of pine. haha.
Not to spark a debate, but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts! Real life trees, or pre-lit/fake? Why? |
I used to love real trees. We stopped getting them at mom's because she and her roommate hated cleaning up after them and stopped getting them at dad's once my stepmom moved in because she's allergic to pine. I like the idea and smell and aesthetic of real trees much more but in practice? I'm an adult now; I'd have to clean up after it. And I'm mildly allergic to all plants so messing around with it would make me itchy. So nah. Also the giant after-holidays tree bonfires are pretty much illegal now so getting rid of it is just sad instead of fun.
|
The Christmas trees I used were always the cheap, fake ones. They last longer and I find them easier to decorate in my opinion. They are also easier for those who live in urban environments that don't have many trees, and you don't have to throw them out when all the festivity is over.
|
I would prefer real-life trees; those are what we always get. Although the pre-lit trees are less of a hassle to get and all, I guess we just prefer to have our own tree. I have seen some pre-lit trees at work, with lights that flip from white/yellow to colored for a few seconds. But my parents are the ones getting the tree, so I'm not often the one to decide (well, now that I no longer live with them).
And I got a sports sweat jacket for my brother, like i think I said I almost got him a 3DS+Smash, since I saw deals for off while I was just at Best Buy, although I didn't get anything for anyone else…yet. Why am I not back at college studying for my finals? |
Quote:
but real greenery is always nice to have for a while esp in winter |
I've never experienced a real tree tbh. I don't even think that there are pine trees where I live; which is near that is.
It sounds fun and more true but if you think about it, cleaning up would really be a hassle. |
I've always wished we could have a real christmas tree, but we never had. My parents have always said it would be too much of a hassle to get and subsequently get rid of. So we just have an extremely troublesome fake tree. It's not hard to put together, but man oh man I cannot stand taking it down. The limbs never fit back in the box.
|
You have the smell of pine trees, and the real "green" color that illuminates your whole room if you place lights on them. There are always disadvantages of having a real tree such as risk of tree fires and electrical damage. They also have to have water every other day so they can keep "living". It's also more traditional because "that's what people had in the past during the first few Christmases" says my momma.
I really want a taste of an artificial tree just to see how easier it is to maintain and such, especially a snow-covered tree. I know, I feel weird now. haha. |
Artificial trees aren't as easy to maintain as you might think...they shed. Six months later and you're STILL finding bristles under the sofa when you clean the room. Although you'll get that with tinsel anyway, come to think of it. I hate tinsel. It looks pretty, but it falls apart and gets absolutely everywhere...artificial trees are just un-sparkly, tree-shaped tinsel a lot of the time. xD
We got a new artificial tree a couple of years ago...the old one, which we'd have for at least twenty-three years, looked very skeletal, and not even copious amounts of tinsel and baubles could hide the gaps in it. I still miss it. xD |
A couple years back we switched to an artificial tree. It's big and full and would look real if it wasn't for the fact that it's a white tree lol
I'm fine with it. It's pre-lit the way we would normally do our own, so no one has to bother wrapping lights around the tree from the inside out so it glows, as it's already done. No fallen needles to deal with. No sticky sap to mess with. But, nothing beats coming home this month and just smelling the scent of pine. And I don't get that with an artificial tree. So, :( I think we should hunt for a really good tree scented plugin or something lol |
Just hang a pine-scented air freshener on the tree! We had one of those a couple of years ago in the car...which was shaped like a Christmas tree, if I recall correctly. It could be just another Christmas decoration. We have enough baubles shaped like trees, anyway. I don't know why we have to hang mini trees on the tree, it seems a bit...excessive. xD
Mum also told me that she wants to get the decorations up before my father gets home on Saturday. So, we've got to have my little brother at the train station for his trip by 9:30am, and then somehow get the food shopping done and decorations up before 1pm. Hahahaha. In case I don't survive this: it was nice knowing you all~ |
I like real trees better, but we got an artificial tree from my uncle and now we've used that one for a few years. When you get close to an artificial tree, you can see easily it's just something trying to look real, but failing at it. I don't really like that. It annoys me mostly that the 'stem' is completely covered in needles too.
We also have a fir standing in the backyard throughout the year. We cannot move it inside since it's a lot higher than our two stories house. This also makes it kind of impossible to decorate it. |
we always used to have real trees when i was growing up, but a few years ago we switched to an artificial one - mainly cause cleaning up after it took so much time, but also constantly being pricked by things while putting in decorations was annoying. and the sap. geez the sap...
our isn't prelit, so we still put in the lights, but i think it looks really nice. real trees also always seem to have 'bruises' or broken/missing branches so i'm happy with ours. adding a little pine scent to it may not be bad though! great idea c: |
We always use fake trees too. There's less of a mess, and it isn't too hard on my allergies either. We've never had problems with fake ones than we would with a real tree. Ours is prelit, so all we have to do is add ornaments to it. :3
|
Like almost everyone else, we also tend to lean on artificial tree. Real ones do tend to have more of a natural smell, but they tend to make a lot of mess, and as stated before, it could be sort of a hassle to clean up afterward. We've brought them into our house a couple of times before, and neither of those were a good experience, unfortunately. It could be sort of troublesome to set up and detach fake Christmas trees, but not as much as actual ones.
Also, we'll be decorating our house on Saturday and Sunday nights, which is going to be rather fun! Most of my family are busy with things in daytime on weekends, which prevents us from doing anything during then. |
My town's Christmas Light parade is tomorrow night! I kinda, sorta have to go because my little sister who is part of the parade with her Cheerleading squad will be participating and I'll be walking with her. Do you guys enjoy Christmas parades in your town, if any?

I used to be scared of Santa when I was little, seriously. My mom would force me to take a picture with a big fat man impersonating as Santa and I would cry my eyes out. I'm over that fear though. Now a friend of mine and I want to take a picture with him at the mall, like we've done so every year. lol.
And then there's man-made snow, but it's not the same as the snow most peeps up north experience. One day I wanna enjoy the good stuff. |
Even I remember when I would many years ago sit on "Santa"'s lap at our local country club, haha. And I was at the mall quite a few times over the past few weeks and found a Santa dressed up there with younger children, they were hosting that event there. I wondered what it would have been like at my now age as opposed to then, some people would've likely found it weird, haha.
|
For some it would probably be a little creepy, albeit weird! When we went to see the mall santa a couple years back, we (me and my friend) asked the photographer if we wanted to take a quick picture, and he got pretty baffled at first, but he took it anyways. :D
|
I used to adore Santa, and still do, in a way! I found it to be rather magical of how he would climb-down chimneys and leave presents and whatnot, and how he would be using his reindeer to fly around. My parents would have me leave cookies for him on a place at our kitchen table, which would all be gone when I'd wake up in the morning (in actuality, they'd wind up to be eaten by dad). Back then, I would count on almost every other thing that an average kid would believe, haha.
|
So, to change the topic a little, I just got about 10 packages from FedEx, all of them are Christmas presents I had bought online. How's everyone's progress in terms of Christmas shopping?
|
Quote:

I've done just as much Christmas shopping as I need to. But I haven't asked for anything yet, although i'm sure I will and then my folks will get to what they have to. I haven't gotten much relevant in previous years either...
|
Yep, I've already done my shopping, thankfully.
I have finished most of it during middle through end of November; I've bought a hand-watch for my father, cosmetics for mom, and few DS games for my little sister. Though, I wish I had waited until Black Friday (or even December, since this is the month when we get most of our Christmas deals); this way, I would have been able to save a good portion of money. For my own self, I'm planning to get a set of PlayStation 4. I've thought about Xbox One, but that likely won't work out with me; it's more pricey, some of its services seem to cost a lot, and not many of my friends have this system (therefore, I won't have much of a chance to play with or against them). I'll be purchasing it later this week. |
I need my mom, my dad, and one friend left. The former should be easy, because they're getting gift cards (both are really difficult to choose a gift for, haha). The latter, well...let's say I'm having a hard time deciding on "something special!"
30 people on my list are getting gifts and now I need three left. |
I usually don't do any Christmas shopping. Maybe suggest what my parents should buy for others but that's it. I don't really ask for anything either, i know my cousins will get me something that i like.
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
Need my mom, my dad, and my friend to shop for. That's it! The area where the tree is at is surrounded by presents that it's super hard to walk around. xD It's in the kitchen, but we have room to have our dinner :P
It's December 18, and it's THE FINAL COUNTDOWN. Christmas is now one week away! Let's talk about movies and Christmas specials, yes? I haven't been able to see the Charlie Brown Christmas show because of work, but I'll probably watch it online so I won't miss it this year. |
I watched Home Alone on ABC Family Tuesday (and yesterday too). The Santa Clause was on last night as well, so I checked out some of that. And right now, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is on so i'm tuned in to that. Granted, most Christmas movies don't change but when they come on they are always worth watching.
And there's always A Christmas Story, which if i'm not mistaken a certain channel (I think TBS) likes to do 24 hours of. |
We've done our shopping a long time ago. We just have to get Christmas dinner, and everything will be set for Christmas day. I'm so excited!! CHRISTMAS IS IN A WEEK YOU GUYS!!! I watched Frosty the Snowman, which is literally the highlight of Christmas for me. <3

I've watched Home Alone 3 (or was it 2?) few weeks ago, and it was pretty entertaining; loved watching. My sister was watching, too, and she seemed to have enjoyed the movie a ton!
Though, I don't believe anything would ever be able to compare to their first release; if you ask me, it was very well-done. In their first film, everything seemed to have been connected--one thing led to another rather naturally, without having anything look forced or anything of the like. It had me laughing on plenty of occasion, even to a point where I literally couldn't breath. If I get the chance, I would definitely consider watching again. Aside from that, I've also finished viewing Frozen again recently. Although the movie does not precisely relate to Christmas, it still does help getting into the mood. |
Frozen does get me in a wintery mood. Because that movie was released on Thanksgiving and prior to the Holiday Season last year, it does have that effect to get people in that Christmas-y mood because December is the start of winter.
I have it on my DVR juuuust in case. Home Alone is a classic! It's almost 25 years old and it still doesn't fail to amuse me. |
I watched a pretty hilarious Christmas movie last night, the 2003 comedy Elf. I think it's one of my fave Will Ferrell movies and the adorable Zooey Deschanel is also in it. I kinda like the story of this man raised like an elf going in search of his true identity.
Always a great feelgood movie to watch during the Christmas season! |
I always thought that movie was cute. I never got the chance to see it this year though. >< I used to have this friend who absolutely LOVED that movie around Christmas time.
Omg, I LOVE Frozen. I don't get why people give it so much hate. I guess because of the hype of it all and what not. Though, I could careless what others think of that movie. XD It's so cute, and I also feel really close to Elsa out of all the characters. I've just been watching like... the Santa Claus and stuff. Another one I like is the live action version of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. That one is really cute as well. I love the song for that movie so much. <3 I'm not much of a Home Alone type person though. Please don't beat me up. ;w; I just don't really care much for movies like that. >< |
In terms of TV Christmas specials, aside from the Charlie Brown one, I really love the Full House Christmas episodes. The one with Jesse and Michelle got locked in a gas station and the owner of the shop was a real life scrooge who hated Christmas. It was really heartwarming. This was in their final season, btw.
I'd like to share that my latest blog entry was Christmas-related. Made someone's Christmas a little merrier today, it's something I love doing every year. Does anyone have any stories about making someone's Christmas 20% awesome? Have you helped someone? |
Hm. Well, I don't really know if it's Christmasy or anything... probably not. Anyway, down at this gas station we go to. We tend to visit there frequently on our way into town. We have become well acquianted with the people who work there. Well, there's this one old woman who works there because it's a family run business I believe. She's like a fourth grandmother to me (I say fourth because I had one from my mom's side that was her foster mother and my dad's grandmother who died and my godmother who was like a grandmother to me as well who also passed as well).
Well, my mom and I got both got her Christmas presents because she's the sweetest lady. She'll see is, come over, hug and kiss our cheek and say "I love you" like your part of her family and what not. We have yet to give them to her, but we are going to do it today when she's there. It was my mom's idea because she wanted to do something really special for her for always looking out for us. :3 |
I can't remember any instances where I did something for someone else's Christmas, which admittedly is rather shameful.
On a side note, our Christmas feast is going to be on Christmas Eve. My parents said all we'll be having come Christmas day are leftovers, since we'll be having a lot of people the day before then. |
I'll likely have a boring Christmas again, that is just the gifts and the food. My family is usually too lazy to put decorations up these days, and yeah that sadly counts the Christmas tree.
But it's still great that I had fun posting in this club and hopefully it becomes an annual event. |
I just spend time with my family and such. We unwrap presents, then we have a boiled dinner as well. It's not a huge christmas or anything, but it's enjoyable.
I agree with Hikamaru! It really was fun, even if i forgot about this place. XD I was better with this than the Halloween thread though. |
I'm pretty sure we are going to my grandparent's house and have some feast there, then come back and open our presents. And I agree, I just wished I became active in these holiday clubs, they seem really fun :3
|
I'm not sure if we'll be going over to someone to spend our Christmas; we will all likely be at our house hanging around together. Mom and my father are always busy, other than weekends, so my sister and I rarely get to spend some decent time with them and whatnot.
Also, I've gotten myself a set of PlayStation 4 today; thanks to Christmas deals, I was able to save a good portion of money on it! I haven't un-boxed, yet though; I'll likely do it sometime tomorrow. Knowing me, I likely would have spent my entire night tonight playing on the console if I had already opened it. I wish I were more controlling of myself, but unfortunately, it's kind of tough. Along with PS4, I've also purchased a couple of games, which are Rayman Legends and Call of Duty: Ghosts. I already have these two for Xbox, but used version of these games seemed to have been quite cheap for PlayStation 4 in comparison to other games they had in-store. I'll be getting myself GTA as well pretty soon; next week, most likely! |

I'm so glad this club is a thing. My family and I went out and looked at Christmas lights together last night, and it was one of those few enjoyable moments we can have. {XD} |
Yeah, as I mentioned we'll be doing more on Christmas Eve than Christmas Day, but we'll be going over to our grandparents' on the day after Christmas (maybe even late Christmas night because we have to get back Saturday night; my brother has a flight home early Sunday). I was at Costco yesterday and saw some tablets that might interest me, which wouldn't be too much of a problem for me to cut out of my own money if I really wanted it.
But this was indeed a good time, yeah. I didn't join Club Nightmare, so i'm glad I had the chance to check out this instead. |
IT'S CHRISTMAS YOU GUYS.
What's everyone's favorite Christmas song? You can use YT vids if you like! |
Frosty the Snowman! Though, I haven't heard it much this year. I love Jimmy Durante's version only. lol
|
MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU GUYS!!!! It's 8 am here, and wow, My dad got me a brand new mobile phone for Christmas :3
|
I got a new animal hat. :3 I posted a picture of me wearing it in the picture thread. ^^
|
it's still 5 pm here. So Christmas is about a weee few hours away. Santa Claus has probably passed by London already.
My favorite Christmas Carol would probably be Carol of the Bells. The Pentatonix version is just spot on. <3 I freaking love it. Second favorite would be Happy Christmas (War is Over). I actually like the Maroon 5 version of it, but I haven't been able to buy it this year. |
I'm not certain if I'd call this my favorite Christmas song, but I really like You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. It's so ridiculous and isn't really about Christmas at all, but it's just so catchy and a fun track.
Aside from that, I also like Winter Wonderland and ta lot of the Peanuts tracks. |
Christmas breakfast is in a few hours. This time of the year is truly my favorite, it is where everyone comes together, and I can catch up with old friends. For example, we met family in the other part of the state over the weekend and I was able to hang out with friends I hadn't seen in 4 years! It was great to catch up on how life has been. It was cool to see how we all had changed, but how similar we all still were. I'll stay up until 4 in the morning because Christmas movies are some of my favorite movies, I make sure to watch The Santa Claus and Home Alone 2 every year.
My favorite part of Christmas is waking up in the morning and eating breakfast with all of my family. This only happens a handful of times throughout the year and I am looking forward to it tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a wonderful day. :) http://www.u.arizona.edu/~patricia/cute-collection/christmas-stuff/christmas-cute-tree.gif |
CLUB HOLLY JOLLY WILL CLOSE AT 11:59 PM GMT - 8 (pacific time!)
In the meantime the one topic we've all been waiting for: What did you get for Christmas? My Christmas right now has been spectacular. Full house, free booze, and I was able to learn about German culture from my uncle's current girlfriend. First, I was surprised by Matt (El Heroe Oscuro) doing a theme dedicating to me. That was really awesome of him. <3 Then I got a bluetooth-enabled speaker bar! Now I am totally going to blow up the house with my awesome music. lmao. I also got gift cards from GameStop and Victoria's Secret, courtesy of my co-workers, a traveling charger, and brand new boots. |
I got a bunch of stuff from my parents-in-law which I didn't expect so that was nice :) also had booze and games with my boyfriend's cousins and siblings which was really great. Overall a lovely day!
|
Well, as I said before, I got a mobile phone from my dad, a Starbucks mug, paper and pens, tumblers, perfumes, and stuff :3
It's kinda sad taht the club be closing later, but I guess we had fun :3 also inb4 new flash club for new years 2015 :3 |
Spoiler:
This is what I got for Christmas. :D I updated the picture with some better light btw. lol |
So what'd I get? Well...
At home: -A nice blue collared shirt. -Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD. Haven't seen the film but this'll be a good chance to. -Black, warm pajama pants with white and red stripes. -A box of sour Jelly Beans from Boscov's. I always liked those but haven't gotten to munch on them in recent times. -A $20 gift card to Shake Shack, a burger place right near the mall I take the college shuttle to. They have some pretty darn tasty burgers. -A pair of gloves that can fold to view all the finger holes or serve as fully wrapped. So I can choose how I want to wear them. -A Phillies blanket. Hopefully I won't regret wrapping myself in it later! -$100 and a $50 American Express card. Can buy myself something pretty with them. At my grandparents' house: -How To Train Your Dragon 2 on DVD. Another movie I heard was pretty good. -Taylor Swift's 1989 album. -A $50 iTunes card. -Two Best Buy gift cards, one $25 and one $50. -A $100 American Express card. -A black and blue scarf. -A jacket representing the college I go to. And for my family's gifts, I picked up $25 Visa gift cards at work yesterday for both my mom and dad, and I already mentioned getting things for my brother. I didn't get anything for my relatives, though, didn't really occur to. But thanks again for hosting this club, it was a really nice time! (: |
Yeah, we partied long and hard for 25 days. There was also some celebrations at other sections of PC too, including the 25 days of gaming. Glad to see you peeps enjoy it! Once an admin gets the emblem up and loaded I will distribute to those that have actively participated.
