Television or Internet
I'm pretty much the only one in my in-person life who never watches TV anymore and only watches Youtube videos or anime episodes.
Which do you prefer and do you find the people you talk to in-person to be more TV-oriented or online-oriented? |
The only time I watch TV is for local news, and that's only when I have nothing better to do. Lol {XD}
|
The idiot box can burn in hell.
|
I don't watch television any more, but both of my parents do. I once had an argument with a couple of my friends over that if I was to move in with them, I wouldn't set up a subscription and they looked at me weirdly and thought "What?".
|
Nah I hardly watch TV. I will sometimes watch what my parents are watching but that never lasts for too long. The news is the only thing that network TV has that the Internet can't provide, and I see that changing pretty soon.
Web all the wayyyyyyyyyy. |
Television is an outdated concept.
With streaming sites like Hulu, Crunchyroll, and now Netflix, combined with people always finding some way to upload episodes of whatever onto Youtube, thereby making it easier to not only watch whatever you want at any time but also potentially do it with less annoying commercials, TV is dead to me and hopefully soon it'll be dead to everyone else as well. I don't even watch it for the news, because 24/7 news pretty much has made America insane. |
Internet. There's more to do AND I can watch television on it; win win sitch.
|
I don't watch television often, but I still do use it. Especially since my computer is too crap to use for hulu and stuff. I do use netflix but the offerings are often slim.
|
I've never bothered to get a cable subscription at all since I moved out on my own seven years ago (I had also lost interest in television in the years leading up to that point anyway). TV is the most unneccesary, redundant, and overpriced service there is. You can find damn near anything on the internet without being at the mercy of networks and airtimes and commercials and whatnot, and more options are appearing all the time for legally viewing stuff online. Plus I check out new shows on my own time and if I want to. I don't care what new series everyone is talking about at a given time, and am not so impatient I have to see something when it premiers. There is plenty to do online to pass the time.
|
I drifted away from TV when I was about 12 or 13.
|
Since I've gotten back into Pokemon I've used Netflix to watch a bit of the series.
Other than that, I don't want TV at all because most of it's crap anyways. |
Ehhh Internet tv is boring.
|
Internet all the way, now we can even watch latest episode of everything online and even sports matches, but I do watch it sometimes when I get bored online
|
I stream Youtube and Netflix videos on my TV with Chromecast, does that count?
My parents still pay for cable, mainly because Chinese TV shows aren't as readily available online as western programs, so I do use that to DVR my South Park, since it's not on Netflix. But I don't watch anything 'live' anymore, 'cause commercials. |
I still like having directv. :c
I only really turn to the internet for things I can't find on TV, usually for things that aren't on the air anymore (Firefly, Masters of Horror) or things that air really late/infrequently/not at all in the US (Lost Girl). Netflix doesn't offer a whole lot, and I just don't particularly like Hulu. Youtube is handy though, with its entire collection of Master of Horror. Besides, it just feels super cozy to curl up on the couch and watch Food Network with the boyfriend. http://www.pokecommunity.com/images/templates/smilies/cerulean/12.%20tongue.gif I'm sure I could run that via my desktop since it's already hooked up to my TV, but seeing as my parents already pay for directv for their NFL Sunday Ticket thing, why bother turning on my heater. That said, I'm sure that I'd switch to a much cheaper option when I move out and I have to pay for that. Quote:

Internet. Literally the only thing I use the TV for is hockey games. I would just use the NHL's streaming service, but I like listening to the local commentators.
|
The only time I'll use the TV now is when I need to stream content to my Apple TV, or TVB serials from an Android TV box.
Otherwise, meh. Censorship kills our shows anyway. |
The day I become a Justin Bieber fan is the day I am going to choose the TV over the Internet.
I only ever watch TV when: - there's a football game I am interested in on - the news are on - there's something interesting on History/Nat Geo/Discovery - I need background noise for when I am talking to people on Skype (I am looking at you, Alf.) in case someone walks into my room without warning |
Hm. This is a hard choice. I love both, but I think I'd have to choose the internet. I can't live without it. D:
|
I rarely watch actual TV. When I do it's to watch new episodes of Supernatural and Doctor who, along with the News. Other than that, I watch Netflix, Youtube, or Crunchy Roll.
|
I pretty much watch TV using the internet. My mom is the only one who uses Cable TV in the house. If I were living on my own, I would definitely just use Netflix to watch TV. I wouldn't even bother with Cable.
|
I use the tv to catch up with a couple shows on demand. I basically only use phone internet for social media and then here on my desktop. One day I want to live a life with neither tbh
|
You can watch TV on the internet easily. There's barley a argument.

Don't derail the thread. |
TV for me, mostly because my major is Television and Film Production haha. I want to work on shows and movies.
And to everyone saying that TV is dying... its not. And its not going anywhere for awhile. Remember when people were condemning Radio because TV was the new thing to replace it? Exactly. |
