Kyogre because I love his design in primal form! Because he is a water-type pokémon, he is blue(my favourite colour) and because he is "The titan of the Sea", and I love the sea :)
|
I always thought Kyogre looked cooler. Though it's my bias of Sapphire being my first Pokemon game.
|
Groudon. Because land. Because Magma. Because Fire type.
Look at Primal Groudon once and you'll agree. ;) |
I think a lot of people are mistaking a pokemon being able to beat another specific pokemon as it being better.
Pidgeot can easily dominate blaziken without even mega evolving, but that doesn't make it better overall. |
Groudon for sure. I love it's type and to me I like it's overall look. Along with red being my favorite color.
|
Rayquaza due to its awesome design and its fairly powerful!
|
I've never been particularly fond of this trio. They're not bad, but they're also not great design-wise.
Groudon is flatout ridiculous to me. It's overly bulky and it looks like a cheese grater. I like the coloring, but such a Pokemon was never deserving of a pretty version name like Pokemon Ruby. I personally think they should've been more gemlike, like Palkia and Dialga. It doesn't have majesty - just ferociousness. And I suppose that's fine for being a magmatic land Pokemon, but it's just not my thing. Not saying I hate its design though. I'm just... eh about it. I chose Sapphire my first time around because of Kyogre and Latias being available. Kyogre looked prettier and more artistic. (And it has a more variable Primal form. I prefer its form more.) But then it opened its mouth... and it lost all of that majesty. With its mouth open, Kyogre just looks like a stupid whale. I thought prior to that it just had no mouth, or a tiny mouth. I'd prefer that to be the case. So if I had to pick out of these two, I'd chose Kyogre. (Though I still went with Omega Ruby because I love rubies and the color red. And also, my fiance had to have the blue version.) But I prefer Rayquaza the most out of the two. Though it also suffers from that awesome design with a stupid feature that Kyogre has. Its mouth. With that open, it looks like an old man with his gums out. And it also looks unpleasantly mechanical whilst being fully organic. (Also like Kyogre and Groudon... I just don't like their overall theme aesthetic.) I wish it'd be more feathery or have wings or something, to better make me think of the sky. It is very streamlined, but still. At least its Mega Form is the awesomest by far out of the three. It looks more epic than most legendaries. And that boosts it way up there. Though honestly, I'd have to say I prefer Xerneas and Yveltal to these two. (Or Reshiram/Zekrom.) |
I've always been a Groudon fan since the days of the original Ruby and Sapphire. I like the edgyness of his appearance.
|
I don't really like Kyogre for some reason :p
Don't know why though... |

I'm really excited to see Groudon here now. |
Rayquaza gets my vote, due to the fact that its a dragon and dragons are my favorite type. Out of Groudon or Kyogre, I would have to go with Groudon due to it being in my game. I never had the pleasure of having Kyogre on my team.
|
In addition to Groudon being cooler than Kyogre by a long shot, Groudon no longer stays behind Kyogre's shadow now that it has Desolate Land to switch-in.
Oh, and Rayquaza now appeals less than it did before, I don't know why but it certainly isn't because of its new Mega Evolution, it's probably another reason, maybe I'm getting bored of it or something? |
Ray-Ray's where it's at ;D
But to answer the original question, I actually like both. Both of their patterns are stunning and the concepts both intrigue me. I just can't choose between a dinosaur or an orca. D: |
I like Kyoger more cause of its design
|
Obviously, Rayquaza owns the throne (Now with its unique way of Mega Evolution).
In my opinion though, Kyogre is far more appealing than Groudon. 10 of a hundred reasons why Kyogre: - Definitely cuter than Rayquaza and Groudon. - Elegant. Look how it swims. - Can smile at you in the Pokemon-amie enthusiastically. - Shows more signs and marks of Primal Reversion. It's written all over the fins and body. - Blue. It's irresistible. - Lets you ride on its back. (Although only during the chase) - Primordial Sea. Everyone loves rain (Especially when classes are suspended). - Reminds you of the sea and the beach... aaahhhhh... - Cute cries. It's squealing. - Looks like a levitating blue Airbus. Origin Pulse. |

Kyogre...though I voted Rayquaza cause I love that thing. But Kyogre between Kyogre & Groudon. Just cause I had Sapphire originally. Def like Groudon's ability a lot more, but oh well.
|
I like both, but Groudon is my third favorite legendary overall behind Mew and Ho-oh; as well as my second favorite from Hoenn right behind Torchic.
|
I like all three of the legendaries, but I have a liking for water type Pokémon. I can't say anything about Groudon though because I've never caught him/her or used him/her in battle. I like the new designs on all three of the Pokémon-it makes them look even more ancient & powerful than they did in R/S/E. I love love love Rayquaza though, so that's who my vote went to. I just love how he/she looks & his/her moves are great! I just love Rayquaza vv much.
|
Been diggin' Kyogre since 2003. :D
Its screech in the title menu has got to go when I soft reset for shiny Cresselia, though! |
I prefer Kyogre because I'm fond of blue color, and it have excellent design and color, and I liked it even more when it enters Primal form.
|
I prefer Kyogre. Although Groudon is a bit more powerful now thanks to his Primal Reversion, I like Kyogre's theming and aesthetics much better. I don't know what it is about Groudon but he just seems kinda derpy to me. :P
|
I've always loved Groundon so definitely Groundon
|
Groudon, because his Primal Ability cancels out his weakness to water
Kyogre already resists fire-types, which means making them useless is bordering on redundant Plus, Thunder gets 100% accuracy in rain, so good job making it even easier to hit you! Rayquaza has a special place in my heart due to the fact she was my first pokemon I ever got to level 100 Plus, she was the first (and so far, only) Pokémon that I solo'd the Elite Four with Yeah, I give genders to legendary pokemon, sue me... |
