I got the OP updated, so let me know if I missed anything.
It's almost 5 AM and I'm running on no sleep, so I wouldn't be surprised if I did miss something. :p

Note to self: Stop shitting myself and get something done.

13 Outside... (3/8/15)
Spoiler:

Good, we got that lame-ass leader out of the way.

Seriously, that dude was PATHETIC, I mean, you didn't use your full team!

The leader wasn't that weak. He did manage to get some damage onto you guys.

Well, okay, as you wish.

And, wait, guys?

Huh?

Our other guys... They're gone.

---

Meanwhile... at the marsh...
Wooper, Quagsire, Yanma... Yeah, I wonder what our next encounter will...GAH!

Marts? What happened?

What happened? Rach, you don't get it, that's a
Tropius

Wait, you can get those guys here? I thought they only appear after like the 6th badge!

My thoughts exactly. Lets-Agh! *gets shoved*

Huh? Who did that?

I can sense it. It was a grunt.

Since when did you have psychic powers?

If I'm not wrong, she did have it all along. I think as she gets stronger, the powers get stronger as well-

Rats! These guys noticed- *Gets strangled by a force* GAH!! *Throws grunt into the pond*

Jeannette evolved into Medicham!
Do yourself a favour and stay down.

Good. Can I have my-Wait, what is that?

It is a new town, I believe. Those grunts must be transferring mons to some large temple and burning them to create a powerful energy.

How did you know all that?

Must be part of growing, I believe.

Guys! Where have you been? and what- your telling me to fly up that mountain?

---

This place....

Ah! Young man! I'm glad to see you!

Well, I guess that is kind of, hey why do you look like your wearing a mask!

Fuck! You saw my disguise! Houndour! Wreck his shit!

Not today! *water pulses*

You guys realise how the first person we saw here was a grunt pretending to be a good guy?

Indeed, my friend.

Huh? Who the hell are you?

He is the boss of the grunts. He plans to create a new universe and destroy our current one, and you met him a total of 2 times in our adventure.

How did you know all this?

Don't ask me.

Whatever. Sir, I challenge you to a battle and stop that kill the world goal!

Prove I should stop it! Sneasel, teach them a valuable lesson!

Ah! This thing is too FAST!

Then too bad. This guy can EVOLVE, you know!

Don't listen to him, Tobs! Use Flame wheel!

Got it! *whoosh*!

Gah, damnit! I will return!

You...

Part 23 is here :]

Part 6: I shouldn't have said anything
Spoiler:

In Driftveil City, there was more Plasma drama waiting for me. I met Rood, a former member of the seven sages, Hugh finally revealed that it was his sister's Pokémon he was after and why does Team Plasma even have a Zorua? Oh, nevermind. He's giving it to me as a gift. That's fine with me. (Also, yay for N backstory!)

Now that that was out of the way, there was nothing that could stop me from going after the next badge. Clay's gym design was terrible in Black and White, but this is ridiculous. It's much worse now. But at least the music is good.

The battle itself went smoothly, even though I had a bad feeling about this. It was pretty unnecessary, after all. I had two water types and a bug/grass type (that I would have only sent out in an emergency, for fear of the rock type move). Sam quickly got rid of both Krokorok and Sandslash, but for the Excadrill, I switched out into Mimi, because Sam got a bit too much damage from those two already. Mimi was a lot bulkier and with a Charm, the Excadrill was no problem at all. I guess I'll keep that move for as long as possible. It could save me at some point.

With the fifth badge in my pocket, I was going to leave Driftveil, but Clay had other plans. He dragged me and Hugh off to the Pokemon World Tournament, telling us to participate. Well, alright, why not? What could possibly go wrong?

Without thinking much about it, I chose Boris, Betty and Mimi. The first battles against Hugh and Cheren were a breeze. I even felt a bit bad when Cheren's Stoutland hit itself three times in confusion without being able to touch Boris and his Cinccino knocked itself out after setting up two Work Ups. But then there was Colress and I finally realized that I had a huge weakness to electricity. I tried it with Boris' Confuse Ray, but his Magneton never once hit itself. Instead, it proceeded to paralyze Boris, confuse him and finally bring him down into the red, while Boris was paralyzed three times in a row. Thank you, karma. I was forced to switch into Betty, who got paralyzed on the first Thunder Shock. She never once broke through the paralysis or the following confusion either. My only option was to switch to Mimi. At least he would be able to take a few hits better than the other two.

I was very lucky. On the switch, Magneton just used Mirror Shot and on the next turn, it missed the Supersonic. Thankfully, I had just made Mimi remember Aqua Tail. To my surprise, he managed to defeat the Magneton in one hit, outsped the following Klink and the Elgyem, beating them with two more Aqua Tails. That was really close, I already thought I'd lose three team members at once. And there I was initially thinking I'd just exchange Mimi for something else once I had more Pokémon. Now, Mimi is pretty much our lifeline. I just wouldn't have thought that the sad looking Azurill would turn into a monster you don't want to mess with.

Still, I'm not entirely happy with this current team. Four of my Pokémon are physical attackers. Boris' attack stats are pretty even, so he could be mixed. But the only special move he has, is Venoshock. And while Sam is obviously a special attacker stat-wise, his only special move is Water Pulse. Also, Boris is the only one I can have in front when I step in the tall grass. Most of the others are too slow to escape, except for Bluebell, but with his annoying ability, he'll just draw in more Pokémon. I might have to mix the party up a bit eventually. But for now, I want to keep them as they are and hope for the best.

After the barely won tournament, we had to fight some Plasma ninjas on a boat, but in the end they escaped using the ninja trio's mysterious ninja powers. Yeah, they're a pretty shady bunch. Well, there was nothing I could do about them now, so I made my way north again, after I explored the Relic Passage a bit. Since I couldn't catch the Volcarona anymore, I just left it alone.

A bit further down the next route, Cheren met me at the Season Research Lab again to give me Surf. Well, never mind me complaining about having no special attacks for Sam. On the way to the Chargestone Cave, I actually met Terrakion... not sure what to think of that.

I'll blame the electric charge for the stupidity that followed in the cave. I got into a Triple Battle and was really focused on making sure that Oliver wouldn't die. That had been my main concern all the way through Relic Passage, because I wanted to train him, but his special defense is nearly nonexistent. Well, Oliver didn't die. But I completely missed the Tranquill, standing plainly in the middle of the battle screen. I only noticed the threat when I had already selected the last attack – Razor Leaf with Betty. The Air Slash was pretty obvious and it hit. There was no way for her to survive that.

I'm sorry, Betty! I should have paid more attention! I probably jinxed myself. I shouldn't have mused about switching up the party... For now, I'll end this part here. I'm really upset about this loss and how easily it could have been avoided. Also, I need to think about what I'm going to add to the team now.

Spoiler:

After driving away the evil team leader, the gang acquired surf, and sailed away to a new grinding spot.

Ah, Surf. This is psyduckin' amazing.

Hey guys look, it's land!

Nice noticing, Astie! Let's all go out!

---

*sniff* Hey, I recognise that!

Wait, that's... THEM!

Who's 'them'?

I believe he means those thugs that we met at cycling road. You remember those fire horses that tried to kill you? Yeah, those guys.

Psyduck muk damn, I remember it like it was yesterday...

Hey guys! Remember me?

"Well well, look who came back."

Yeah. Anyway, nice bold lettering. And good job becoming an A.T. now.

"Yeah. I got fired as a cyclist thanks to you dummies. Don't you dare think I forgot what you did."

Maybe you should think about what YOU did. Having your lame four-legged mutts trample over me, nearly kill the starter, and cause absolute disruption. Why did you do all this? Because you picked on Joshua just because he accidentally rode on your road. THAT'S IT.

"Woah, hey look guys! The Psyduck-Duck evolved! Just look at 'er! Blue suits her well!"

"How did she get so skinny all of a sudden? She must have gone on a diet thanks to my stomping! LOL!"

Wait, you evolved?

"Sure I did! Just look at these tall thighs man, look! Oh, wait, check out this BLASTY mane! And does my horn look HORNY!?"

...This was technically the one that injured Rach, right?

Yeah. Anyway, we have to GRIND. Gym, remember?

"No."

Huh?

*Grabs Josh* "Maybe you should try grinding against ME."

Uh, Ok, FINE!Well Rach, since you have the lowest level, you can probably give the horses a taste of revenge.

Neat. I'm on it.

"Hey, do you realise only ONE of my horses are with me?"

Uh, yeah? What happened to the other 2?

"Well, the first one DIED. Being kicked by diamonds ain't fun, no. And the second one? Kicked mud into the eyes. No cool. Fire weak to ground."

"Stop reminding me of the diamond hoove kicking! I was hospitalised for weeks!"

"True that. But to make up?"

What the psyduck...

"Marts? Heh heh."

GRANDDAD!?

Who on earth is that!?

It's... Ugh, the dad of my famous mom.

And he's a shiny.

True that. He got angered by the loss of his daughter, and now he is basically a psycho.

"Where is my opponent!?"

"Try to get behind this guy. He has PERFECT IVs, and plus he's got that special shine. Try and kill him, I dare you. Now, kill that duck!"

"Heh. Sure thing." *Take down*!

Agh!

No!

"Well, well, it was JUST like that incident in cycling road! Kill her right now!"

A critical hit!

T-Tobs?
Gaaah....
No!
PSYDUCK YOU GRANDDAD!

"Yes. Psyduck me. But you must soon come to know it was YOUR FAULT, AS WELL AS YOUR DUMB TRAINER'S!"

Are you mentally retarded or just HIGH!?

"Your right. we are high. We are going to fly away soon."

"True that. What I meant just now was that if you didn't accept the battle, your silly horse would still be alive. So long, and psyduck you, you psyducking son of a rattata."

Goddamnit....*sniff*

Part 7: Aren't we supposed to be friends?
Spoiler:
I ultimately decided to take along Mona the Solosis to replace Betty. Training her was a bit of a pain, since she initially had Hidden Power grass as her only attacking move, but she learned Future Sight and Psyshock soon enough. The trip through Chargestone Cave could proceed.

And I'm starting to hate this cave. Further in, I stumbled across a Rotation Battle, where I lost Oliver to a Mirror Shot from a Ferroseed. And I was very lucky not to lose anyone else right there. So much for a team of six. And for not letting Oliver die.

Of course, just when I say that I hate this place, I run into another shiny. A Joltik this time. What's going on? I never, ever find shinies. And now I get two in one run? I'll have to take a look at it, once I reach the next town. Now that both of my bug types are dead, I may just add it to the party.

I managed to get out of the cave without any more dead Pokémon, but I feel a little underleveled. I checked the shiny Joltik at the PC, but it's not what I need right now. So I left it alone for now and took out Tony the Sandshrew instead, since I still don't have an efficient solution against steel and/or electric types.

Just when I went looking for a good spot to level him, I encountered Professor Juniper. For the first time in the entire game!? Wow, that really is late. And she gave me the Master Ball. Just like that. Well, thanks. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to grind.

After I hunted down a couple Audino and battled the trainers surrounding Celestial Tower, I finally went inside to look for the professor. Unexpectedly, she was right by the entrance. And she gave me the Lucky Egg. Argghhhh!! Are you trying to tell me I could have just went in here immediately and get done with the training much faster?!

Not like I can change that now. I battled my way up the tower and it was just as unspectacular as in the first game. I don't know. For some reason, I always expect something to happen when I ring the bell. Whatever. Now that that was out of the way, I headed to the gym. The mechanics were weird, but I think I prefer this to the cannons.

Regarding Skyla, I didn't expect many problems. Bluebell crunched her Swoobat to death easily. Mimi was supposed to fight her Swanna, but it annoyed the heck out of me with Feather Dance, so I switched out into Mona to finish the job. I sent out Tony to deal with the Skarmory, but in the end, the Rocky Helmet did half the job, since I missed more than half of my Rock Tombs. In retrospect it would have been faster, if I had just let Sam take care of it. Either way, I got the badge with no problem. And with the TM Aerial Ace, I could replace that terrible Rock Tomb on Tony, that I actually just taught him for the gym. It probably wasn't a bad idea to have one move that wouldn't miss, even if it was relatively weak. But still... wasn't that scene around the TM the same as in the previous game? That seemed awfully familiar.

What happened next was unexpectedly delightful. Upon the professor's request, Skyla flew us to a small secluded place called Lentimas Town. Bell tagged along for the ride. There was an inactive volcano and, a bit off the roadside, I found an old house. I must say, they did a great job with this. The atmosphere was great and the hints of the ghost girl's story were touching. What creeped me out the most were probably the random trainers in the house. What are you doing in there?! Why do you challenge me to a battle when I barely just entered the room? Who are you anyway? Why would you hang out in that house?! Don't you think that place is strange? Not even in the slightest? Geez, I don't know why they seemed so creepy to me, but they did.

I took the Lunar Wing and saw that I got out of the house. Next stop, Reversal Mountain. Bell wanted to accompany me, so we explored the caverns together. It didn't take long until we found the right stairs, but I wanted to look around some more, so I led her off into a different direction. When I tried to leave through the other exit, she decided to stay there, however. Well, since there was another town right by the volcano, I bought some new repels and looked around a bit.

I tried to go to the next route, but Hugh stopped me and challenged be to a battle. And, well, what can I say... His Unfezant was quickly defeated by Bluebell, but then he sent out his Serperior. I still can't believe what happened next. Boris' Fly missed, allowing the stupid snake to Coil twice. The Venoshock wouldn't kill in two hits, so there was another Coil before it started attacking. Boris got hit with a critical hit Slam and died. Hoping that Bluebell would be faster to finish it off, I sent him out. Unfortunately, I forgot that the rival heals up his Pokémon. So, Return barely scratched it.

The Serpiroyal was then faster and killed Bluebell with a Leaf Blade. Mona was my last hope, but she died to another crit. Mimi, Sam and Tony were all slow and weak to grass, so Hugh had an easy time sweeping my whole team. They all died.

Well, that was really dumb. That never actually happened to me before. I never lost my whole team against a single Pokémon or even in a single battle. I'm going to continue, since I want to play through the game and I don't use the Game Over when you faint rule, but I need to think about what to do now. With the more recent catches I have a bit of a variety, so I guess I can get a new, balanced team. But for now, I'm going to stop here and cry a bit on the inside.

UPDATE #15: THE ROCKET-SEEKING IDIOT BALL
Spoiler:
I'm back, guys! And not before time; I've really been neglecting this, due to exams and such, but I'm back, I'm free from work for now, and we're ready to roll again.

My main objective was to meet up with Lance in Mahogany, but I needed to take some time out first. The thing was, the next Gym Leader was Pryce, and my team was frankly not suited for battling Ice-types. Tristan, Artax and Kiba were obviously going nowhere near Pryce; Leto would take super-effective damage from Piloswine and struggle against the other two; Justin still didn't have any Psychic-type moves and had way too low SpD to withstand anything more powerful than an Aurora Beam; Terra was the only Pokémon I had who wouldn't struggle against Pryce. I needed a new team member for the time being, and I had the perfect candidate - I pulled Maxwell out of the PC and set about levelling him up.

Once my Magnemite was at a reasonable enough level, I headed back out to Mahogany, where I found Lance menacing a Rocket Grunt with his Dragonite. No big deal, it wasn't like Lance would order Dragonite to maim the guy or anything-

"Dragonite, Hyper Beam!"

Welp.

Anyway, we headed down the stairs into the hideout, where I was accosted by four Grunts before I got annoyed and switched off the cameras. Thanks, scientist who told me exactly where the controls were and not to touch them! *Facepalm*

The battles were uneventful, with Maxwell gaining much-needed experience and the rest of the team getting to kick some butt too. The real entertainment came from the Team Rocket members themselves, all of whom seemed to have taken their stupid pills that morning. Case in point: after running into an electronically-locked door, I met a Grunt who told me the password straight out... and then informed me that, by the way, the door actually needs two passwords! Oh, but I'd never get the second one, no way!

One Grunt later, and I had the second password just given to me, because there was no way I'd already have the first one! *Headdesk* Look, I know plot convenience and all, but this is ridiculous.

Things got even more hilarious when I was challenged by Petrel. After being flattened by my team, he decided to be the next to grab the Idiot Ball and told me the password to the generator room, gleefully adding that the door was coded to respond only to his voice, so what was the harm in telling me? Apparently he didn't notice the voice-mimicking Murkrow standing in his office, who led me to the generator and repeated the password in Petrel's voice, opening the door for me. *Headdesk* No wonder Team Rocket have never managed to accomplish anything, if even their Executives are this stupid!

Back at the generator room, Lance and I teamed up against Ariana and a Grunt; with Lance's (underlevelled, by the way) Dragonite on our side, they went down easily. We then cleared out the Electrode - me not catching one, because apparently the Idiot Ball had no one else to stick to - and shut down the HQ. Victory!

Man, Team Rocket are dumb.

UPDATE #16: MAXWELL'S SILVER HAMMER!
Spoiler:
With Team Rocket cleared out of Mahogany and the Pokémon of the Lake of Rage safe again, the Gym was open for business, and I set about preparing. At this point, Maxwell was still too low a level for the Gym battle, so I took time out to evolve him before taking on Pryce. After a barrage of wild Pokémon battles - during which I caught a Girafarig named Jeremy on Route 43 - and the few trainers in the Gym, I had a Magneton!

It was at that point that I discovered that it isn't possible to get hold of a Magnezone in HGSS without trading, so - still within the rules - I borrowed my sister's 3DS and her copy of Diamond so I could let Maxwell level up in Mount Coronet. Soon enough, he was at level 31, and evolved into my first ever Magnezone.

[EDIT (18/9/2016): I was just now made aware that evolving Maxwell is technically breaking the rules, which I wasn't aware of at the time. My mistake, and it won't happen again.]

That was enough for me. It was time to face Pryce.

Pryce first sent out Seel, a pure Water-type; I sent in Justin. Seel was at a rather lower level than my Espeon, so Justin was able to take it down with a few Bite and Swift attacks. Then Pryce threw in Piloswine, and the battle got real.

I threw in Terra, hoping to take out the Ground/Ice-type with a Surf or two. Piloswine had other ideas, starting off by using Hail. A pain in the neck, for sure, but it wasn't until the next turn that I realised just how dangerous this was - 100% accurate Blizzard.

Blizzard did a good deal of damage to my Quagsire - not enough to knock her HP out of the green zone, but enough to make me worry - and, to put the icing (heh) on the "uh-oh" cake, froze her. I couldn't take the risk - I used one of my precious Full Restores, bringing Terra back to full health. What followed was a desperate struggle for survival, with Piloswine spamming Blizzard and Ice Fang and me working overtime to keep Terra alive. It took two Soda Pops and about four Surf attacks, but it was Terra who finally emerged victorious - and when Dewgong entered the battle, it was with relief that I recalled Terra and sent in Maxwell.

Dewgong was a fiercer opponent than I'd reckoned, with Aurora Beam doing decent damage for a not-very-effective move. The other issue was, of course, Rest and Sleep Talk, which got on my nerves to no end - Maxwell's Thundershock didn't do enough damage to knock Dewgong out, but enough to make it use Rest, locking us into a cycle of zapping and healing. After a few turns of this, then, I decided "screw it" and had Maxwell use Magnet Bomb, knocking the opponent's HP down enough that one Thundershock would take it out. And with that, well, as the song goes...

"Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
"Came down upon [its] head.
"Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
"Made sure that [it] was dead."

The Glacier Badge was mine.

You know, I might hang on to Maxwell; he might be useful against Clair. But there's no time for that - the Radio Tower needs liberating! See you then!

UPDATE #17: RADIO GA GA!
Spoiler:
The Radio Tower - late-game though it was, I wasn't particularly worried about what I'd face there. The place was full of Rocket Grunts, all of whom used Poison-types, so Terra, Artax, Maxwell and Kiba would have a field day. With that in mind, it was time to storm the place. In disguise as a Rocket Grunt, I made to go up the stairs, only to be interrupted by Silver, who... ripped off the Grunt disguise. And a million pieces of fan art were drawn that day. Anyway, Maxwell and Kiba dealt with the attacking Grunt, and we headed upwards.

The battles weren't too tough, with most of the Grunts' Pokémon going down in one or two hits; the only real annoyance was Artax and Leto being repeatedly poisoned, which I was fortunately able to heal before they succumbed to it. When I got to the Director's office, I met Petrel again, who challenged me to battle.

He wasn't very difficult, packing five Koffing and a Weezing; Artax, Maxwell and Kiba took them out one by one. In return, he proved that the Idiot Ball was still bouncing around Team Rocket and told me where to find the real Director, even giving me the Basement Key to expedite my rescue. Look, Petrel: I understand that you might be telling me these things in the interest of fairness, but the last time you did that, you had your entire HQ shut down as a result. How stupid are you?

Anyway, it was back to the Goldenrod Tunnel, where I ran into Silver again - and this time he wanted a fight. He'd added a Sneasel - stolen from a guy in Cianwood City - to his party for this battle, which wouldn't have been a problem if not for his Magnemite paralysing and almost taking out Leto beforehand. Luckily, Maxwell once again proved his worth at dealing with Ice-types by taking out the Screech-afflicted Sharp Claw Pokémon with a single Magnet Bomb.

In the basement, among the various Rocket members, I found the Director, who gave me the Card Key; so with that, I headed back to the Radio Tower to face Proton.

Proton threw out a Golbat and a Weezing, neither of whom put up much of a fight; up on the next floor, I was challenged by Ariana, who started with an Arbok. She was rather more of a challenge than her colleague, but Terra, Leto and Maxwell were able to deal with her Arbok, Vileplume and Murkrow respectively. After that, I decided to rejig the team again for the last battle; Tristan wouldn't enjoy fighting the last Executive, so I boxed him in favour of Justin, whom I decided to teach Shadow Ball to replace Bite.

Back on the observation deck, it was time to challenge Archer, who started out with a Houndour; needless to say, I immediately pulled back Justin and sent in Terra. My Quagsire took two Crunches from the Fire-type before it went down from a Surf, and then Archer sent in something much worse: a level 38 Houndoom. Uh oh.

Houndoom was, of course, faster than Terra, and did a massive amount of damage with Faint Attack and Bite before finally going down to Surf and Mud Shot. By this time, Terra was on the verge of collapse, and I was relieved when Archer sent out a Koffing as his final Pokémon. Immune to Koffing's Sludge, Maxwell zapped the Poison-type into oblivion, and Team Rocket were defeated, Terra levelling up and learning Earthquake as a bonus. You know, that might have been useful to have before the battle started!

As a reward for liberating the Radio Tower, the Director gave me a Rainbow Wing - yay! And with that, it was time to go.

Back in Mahogany, the RageCandyBar seller had finally finished blocking the road, so I set off along Route 44 - Justin levelling up during a Trainer battle, and finally learning Psybeam! Justin is now viable for battle!

But now we have to go through Ice Path. I'm aiming to find a good Ice-type there, because no way am I fighting Clair without super-effective moves, and I can't get the Extremespeed Dratini until after beating the Gym. Ugh. Until then, folks!
