I've beaten him on the first try, with Cosplay Pikachu being my only casualty. My team was at an equal level with his team.

Nakuzami January 4th, 2015 9:30 PM

Steven wasn't difficult for me. I swept the Elite Four and beat him on my first try, with my Pokémon all being between levels 48-50.

The Gogoat January 5th, 2015 6:46 AM

Defeated him on my first try, but only with one Pokémon left. My Delphox barely won. That Mega Metagross sure was a pain with that damn Giga Impact.

skyluigi2 January 5th, 2015 12:29 PM

I ended up beating him on my first try really easily. Like, no healing items were involved whatsoever. In fact, I don't think I've had a game over in AS since I began... which isn't good, especially considering RSE were (and still are, to be honest), in my opinion, the hardest Pokémon games. I don't like that they've been made easier...

Geoffrey January 5th, 2015 1:43 PM

None. Beat him twice as of today, just did the e4 rematch.

Swampert did most of the work with Surf and Earthquake. Really glad I made it a Mixpert since he only got off one of the screens with Claydol before I killed it.

DraconianWing January 5th, 2015 5:34 PM

Beat him on my first try; I was caught off-guard by the team changes, nothing too bad though. My team was on par with Steven's in terms of level.

Blade_of_darkness January 6th, 2015 2:37 PM

I just managed to beat him today, on my first try, like most of the people that responded before me. He did manage to put up a fight, though... unlike most everyone else...

Alfieri January 6th, 2015 2:51 PM

During the first match, it was a close battle with 1 against 1 left. I beat him in 1 try though.
As for all the other rematches, clean sweeps.

HoennTM January 6th, 2015 2:58 PM

All my Pokes were about Level 56-57, The first time I fought him I almost lost and when I noticed I was about to lose I turned off the power because I saved. So that kinda counts.

The second attempt his Cradily was bloody annoying but I killed it. Metagross was the easiest to kill because I could just wall it with +2 Curse Torkoal.

Altairis January 6th, 2015 3:55 PM

I didn't lose to him, but it wasn't a cakewalk either. I almost lost a couple of my Pokemon at one point; I think I just got lucky :P I turned off the EXP share towards the end of the game, but I was still probably around the same level as his Pokemon or higher, so that may have been a factor. Also, I had a lot of Full Restores.

Tek January 6th, 2015 4:17 PM

Exp Share destroyed any chance of me losing to anyone. Seriously, I was overleveled the entire game.

Necrum January 6th, 2015 4:17 PM

I was doing a Nuzlocke, so I had no choice but to win on the first try. I had mega Swampert, so Mega Metagross wasn't too bad. The one that gave me the most trouble was actually Cradily. Dang thing refused to die D: I used my Exp Share sparingly, so I wasn't even close to over leveling.

LightBlast January 6th, 2015 5:19 PM

Even though I beat him on the first try, it was still a fun fight. I played the original, so I knew what was comming. The rematches were a lot closer though.

Atleast he was better than Zinnia. God, was she pathetically easy and so dissapointing, but oh well.

PikaSamus January 6th, 2015 7:55 PM

I lost once because I didn't expect him to have a Mega Evolution. Every other Pokémon was a breeze.

I did change up a few moves with TMs to help counter it, but I ended up winning by repeatedly causing it to flinch with Swellow's Air Slash or whatever. After it was in red health (Steven already used up his Full Restores), it actually was able to attack. Swellow got knocked out in one shot, but Kyogre quickly defeated Metagross with Surf.

Nakala Pri January 6th, 2015 10:04 PM

I lost to him once. >:( He was so easy except for that god damn CRADILY WHICH HAS LITERALLY NO WEAKNESSES

Only won the second time because of my Ninetales' Will-O-Wisp. XD

Stormerbuzz35 January 12th, 2015 1:41 PM

Beat him on my first try. Things got kinda dicey for abit with Armaldo and Cradily but I pulled through. Easily beat his Metagross with my Mega Aggron. One thing I can't figure out is why it kept using Giga Impact. Sure it's a strong move but I had double resistance and beastly defence. If he had whipped out a few Psychics, I woulda been in trouble.

Oblivion Wing January 12th, 2015 1:48 PM

I beat him on my first try. The only Champion that gave me a problem was Lance back in Pokémon Silver, that was a Pain haha. Steve does have a good team though.

Vegeta™ January 12th, 2015 4:14 PM

I havent faced him yet lol.

I'm standing outside the elite 4 right now.

My team are - Blaziken, Pikachu, Milotic, Swampert, Salamence and Metagross

No Sceptile? :(

I didn't lose to Steven. I found him quite easy, especially compared to R/S, but that's a given. I think my lowest leveled Pokemon was about 10+ levels higher then his Metagross, and I was using a team of about 16 Pokemon lol. Then again my first playthrough I do absolutely EVERYTHING so by the time I got to him I had about 70+ hours on my save.

Megan January 13th, 2015 3:35 AM

I only fought him once and I used a party that was about ten levels weaker than his team. The only Pokemon that fainted was my Azumarill and that was because I was just careless.

TheUnit684 January 14th, 2015 11:13 AM

My goooodness, Steven. My first time coming up against him, I completely destroyed his entire team. That is, his entire team except Metagross. I came so close, but Mega Metagross just completely decimated my team. My team wasn't really balanced at all, I had a lot of grass types, but that Mega Metagross power just completely caught me off guard.

When I went back through, I simply Mega evolved my Aggron instead of my Sceptile and Aggron was able to handle Mega Metagross. :P

DyingWillFlareon January 14th, 2015 11:45 AM

It took two or three tries because the first time I forgot to buy healing items and didn't realize it until I beat Glalie. And you know I wasn't getting ready to reset after that so he beat us pretty fast. Then I think I had to soft reset when we went through a second time, but thanks to Camerupt dodging the attack(I think it missed not from Pokemon Aime) she murdered his Mega-Gross with Eruption. XD

RisingMaster85X2 January 14th, 2015 5:24 PM

Beat him on first try on my first run. IT was close though, had that megagross that was an idiot and used giga impact one too many times. I had the same levels as he did too so it was actually a perfectly fair fight. Second game through was two tries because I was severely under-leveled (seldom used the Exp. Share).

TheTwilitTrainer January 15th, 2015 2:28 PM

First try. Of course I think was just because I had primal Kyogre and mega Metagross. I'm kind of nervous of fighting him in my wonderlocke.

Pendraflare January 15th, 2015 3:40 PM

^ Yeah, see, those are the Pokémon that will surefire make it laughably easy. As it's been mentioned, if that Mega Metagross had Earthquake, it'd be much harder. Kinda wish they had changed his moves a little bit in the rematches like they did the Unova League, and Cynthia in Platinum.
