This looks really good!
Username: Wiicked Reason you love dark types: They generally are gold battlers and look really cool 3 partner pokemon: Weavile, Houndoom, Greninja What is your all time favorite dark type and why? Yikes, this is tough. Tyranitar, Sneasel/Weavile, and Houndoom have all been favorites of mine for a long time. Guess I'll just say all three :P Greninja is really cool in Smash Bros. so that's why I chose it as a partner. |
I was about to respond but Wicked accidentally closed the thread... oh well at least he's reopened it now. Sometimes mods make mistakes ya'know.
Username: Hikamaru Reason you love Dark-types: They have awesome designs and fun playstyles both in-game and competitively. 3 partner Pokemon: Greninja, Stunky, Inkay What is your all time favorite Dark-type and why? Greninja, who happens to be my fave Kalos starter! I love the ninja theme with Froakie's evolution line and while it started off as a not-so-fave from me, it became a fave over time thanks to badass portrayal. I also love how fun Greninja is to use competitively as well with the awesome Protean ability because it gets STAB on every attack it uses, making it hard to counter. Which Dark-type gym leader/elite four member is your favorite? Well, there's still no Dark Gym Leaders so I guess it's just the Elite Four we're stuck with. My fave by the way is Grimsley from Unova's Elite Four. I love how cool his design is, and his backstory as a gambler also sorta reflects his battling style as well. |
Quote:
Real shocker there lol Anyways in smash bros i gotta say Greninja is great (not just because he takes me out and hes my mortal enemy on there) and with protean its actually pretty great :) Houndoom ive always loved and its mega design is awesome in my opinion! Tyranitar is a great pokemon good design and poweful ive never had it on one of my teams though its another pokemon i fear in competitive battling though haha! Anyways welcome to the club Wiicked and thanks for approving it and unlocking it!lol :) Oh and thanks for the compliment on the looks i love the pictures (thanks for fixing tht btw) and idk i did a lot of work on this is word for this week and then got to work today trying to get all the animations in! Haha Quote:
Anyways welcome Hikamaru! Greninja is great haha who doesnt like him? Lol Oh cool u answered both topics! Grimsly is my favorite too i have a lot of quotes from him and images hes kind of my idol haha. Anyways welcome enjoy the club and i anticipated u joining lol :) |

Reason you love dark types: Just say the word 'dark type' and you'll already feel cool saying it. I think the main appeal from dark types is how they're almost the villainous side of the series while still have great designs, concepts and ideas behind them. Gamefreak also didn't do the thing where the villains or darkest looking characters didn't match up to their appearance by making each one of them as strong as the other types vs making them ridiculously weak. Some of my attachment also comes from the fact that my first favourite pokemon was a dark type. Since then, I've began exploring all the different options that I can use in games and grew to love all the designs behind the coolest type of the game. :D 3 partner pokemon: Houndour, Poochyena and Umbreon What is your all time favorite dark type and why? Before I start, reader discretion is advised to those who can't handle a huge asdfghjkl; rant that's about to come with the following answer. So here goes. My favourite dark type of all time is Houndoom. Hands down, no contestion, every other dark type can get the hell out. Why? If you look at some of my partner choices and my current favourite pokemon, Arcanine, you can probably put two and two together to figure out that I love canine pokemon in particular. Remember how I also said that my old favourite pokemon was a dark type? Ding ding, it was Houndoom. It was my first MVP of any pokemon game and to this day remains my highest leveled team member of all time. We've come a long way together. The only survivor of my terrible nicknames from Platinum, my star playe when I was new to the series, if the quote of a dog being a man's best friend applied to pokemon, I'd believe it in a heartbeat. To this day, Houndoom still remains one of my favourites. Although it's no longer top dog, we've made some memories together and I'll always remember showing it off to my friends and saying things like "OH MY GOD THIS IS SO COOL" to quote the crazy fangirl of myself in the past and present. Thanks Houndoom. <3 Which dark type gym leader/elite four member is your favorite? Hmm, having a bit of a mindblank on who the dark type specialists actually were. I liked Grimsley since he was an intrguing character but that's the only one who I find memorable. I also like Karen for her quote about "strong pokemon and weak pokemon". Her design's rather eh but I'll give her personality a thumbs up. |
Quote:
Ok someone likes Houndoom lol ya Houndoom is extremely great its not my fav but its definately one of them and probably my go2 in Johto! Karen is ehhhhh in my opinion she wasnt hard to battle her appearance confuses me alittle and she doesn't seem like a dark type trainer by her looks thats why i love grimsley hes so soo..... Deep...... Anyways hope u enjoy the club! |

Reason you love dark types: There are many Pokémon out there I like that are categorized in this type group, and I would love to help share love for them! 3 partner pokemon: Zorua, Zoroark, Absol. What is your all time favorite dark type and why? There is a lot, really! Where do I begin? Haha. First and foremost, for me, would likely have to be Zoroark. Although its design does resemble Lucario slightly, which some had called it to be unoriginal when it was first introduced, I loved it, and still do. Plus, it also has a one-of-a-kind ability, which allows it to disguise itself as your last party member. Second favorite is Absol. This has a very fierce-looking, which I strongly admire; it suits it quite well, if you ask me! When it cones to battling, it might not be that great, but it does get better once it mega-evolves. I've used it a few times, and it's rather decent! Few of my other favorites are Darkrai, Umbreon, and Mightyena. |
Quote:
Anyways welcome to the club Peitharchia! Zoroark admittedly was one of the things that pushed me towards dark types i really liked it and zorua too! I like the ability too and in the movie how cunning they are. Absol is a great pokemon although originally in RSE didnt have a great moveset is now a pretty powerful pokemon which i actually plan to discuss later on. I will make a new topic in idk a day or 2 i wanna still discuss this topic and get the club started still lol. Oh and if this wasnt clear you may choose Megas as partners as well theyre under a different spoiler because i used their art rather than animation because its cooler and not all have animations yes XD. Edit: Members list is up to date :D Nother Edit: Question would you guys like a weekly featured pokemon which we can discuss on that day? Ex. Every friday or so id post a dark type like zoroark and we'd discuss like dislike ability moveset pros cons design color stuff like that :) |
Name: Murderkode
Reason for liking dark types:Copmetive Rules epic type combos on 2 type darks 5 epic megas. 3 partners:Tyranitar Sharpedo Mightyena |

Haha ya ik what u mean good and bad :) Tyranitar i never got into like i thought i wanna use him in battle but never really did :/ Weavile is great an ice ninja with a dark side! Hydreigon has dual weakness to fairy type but hes still awesome and powerful! Wow thanks i love grimsley hes like my idol and the picture was irresistible! I'll add u to the members list now :) PS:Everyone feel free to answer the other topic if you wish! For me Grimsley is my favorite dark type trainers hes my idol he has a great backstory he has a good look and hes got the best quotes! And favorite dark type is Zoroark great design power ability and in the movie how she acts plus zorua is great and cute :) |
Awesome, a Dark type club. <3
Username: MidnightCombat Reason you love Dark types: They are so diverse and unique. Also, it's the only type that I love all the Pokemon in, meaning I don't hate any Dark types! 3 partner Pokemon: Scrafty, Hydreigon and Houndoom Answer any current topic: I'll answer them both~ Scrafty is my favourite Dark type (and favourite Pokemon, heh) because it was such an interesting Pokemon in terms of both competitive play and design. I hated it at first but using it in my White play-through I loved it~ Not to mention it looks adorable while looking cool. I did write a wall of text about it in the favourite Unova Pokemon thread on how it went from being one of my least favourite to favourite. And Grimsley is also my favourite E4 member because I too like his personality, his design is nice and he uses a Scrafty~ <3 For the featured Pokemon, I'd love that! |
Quote:
Anyways i never used Scrafty but i love its typing actually i used it once in a short white 2 playthrough and it was pretty powerful! Hydreigon and Houndoom are also great picks. Just i cant explain it but grimsley is great in my mind (hes actually the star of my next topic coming idk tommarow? Haha Also featured pokemon ill probably do since it seems like a good idea and i already found some great art! Hope u enjoy the club and i hope to see u here when its Scrafty week! Haha |
Thanks for accepting!
Yeah, Scrafty is powerful when used right and it sadly got nerfed due to the presence of Fairies, powerful birds and Fighting types. But, it doesn't stop me from loving it~ <3 And I'm looking forward to how you do the featured Pokemon and I will definitely show up for Scrafty week if I'm not busy. A note in advance, expect some fangirling. :P And nice to see the Grimsley love! He's my overall favourite E4 member and the second and third happen to be Karen and Sidney, lol. I do wish we got a Dark type gym though, would be epic if it were a coliseum with minimum lighting. |
Featured Dark Type Of the Week! http://i60.*.com/34yr4g5.jpg "Zoroark, The Illusion Fox Pokémon. It protects its pack by tricking its opponents. It can protect its den by creating a massive illusion of the landscape. Unity amongst its packs is strong." Yep. Zoroark! One of my personal favorites and for many other people! Zoroark Makes his Debut in Black and White and is first seen on N's team when you face him in his castle. Although he was not obtainable in the wild you could first interact with him by having the 3 legendary dog events. You may also find him in Black and white 2 as one of the previous Team plasma sage gives you N's Zorua. In 6th gen we finally have zoroark obtainable in the Pokemon Village and on route 20 in the wild. Here i will go in depth on pics, stats, design, and a lot of other things so take a look! Zoroark is actually a nice looking Pokemon! I haven't used it much competitively but it is really unique with Illusion. As for a Mega, probably not since it will kind of break its disguise despite its stats being below average.

Zoroark's overall concept is what makes it one of the more interesting dark types. As a shapeshifter, it's different from Ditto in the way that it disguises itself as an ally before entering battle while Ditto has to show its true form before transforming into a replica of the enemy. So out of the two with similar ideas behind them, Zoroark is easily my preferred shape shifter despite Ditto's usefulness elsewhere.
Design-wise, I like how its appearance links to its concept. The best way that I can describe it is that it has a shady and mistrusting look, suggesting that it decieves and tricks other trainers. With the design matching the idea, aesthetics wise, I really like the long fur and its proud stance. I'm not normally a fan of the black/red combo (they're not nice together okay ;v;) but they actually blended pretty well on Zoroark. The black used its in design also helps it to camouflage into the night which would probably be important for an illusionist. Would I give him a mega? Looking at his current stats, he's not that bad and would fare pretty well without one. However with most powerful pokemon being granted new forms, M-Zoroark would definitely be one of my priorities. In design, every aspect of him could become either wilder or sleeker. His eyes might change colour or he could increase in size with sharper and longer claws. Honestly, as long as they make Zoroark intimidating, I don't mind what they do with the new form. As for the stat boosts, they should solely be focused on attack and speed. It's not a meatshield so I don't think the extra bulk would help too much. Correct me if I'm wrong on that one though. Thoughts on his ability? I think I covered that one a few times but in competitive, it can be used for some smart plays here and there. Not really sure on anythig else that could be mentioned about it. I also remember a theory about the relationship between N and Zoroark. The theory goes roughly along the lines of 'n is a zoroark in disguise' because of the similarities in design. I think its also been proven that Zoroark can transform into people though its speaking ability is unknown to me. Anyone know if it can actually talk properly? And thoughts on this idea? Overall, I like Zoroark as a whole. It's interesting, different and a really nice pokemon to have in the franchise. I can't say I've ever used one but apparently there was still a lot to say, judging by the huge wall of text above. Apologies for any eyeballs that burnt out reading that too. ;~; But yeah Zoroark's cool if you skipped all the way down to the last few sentences. Also a kudos to Dedenne for taking the time and effort to put all the information together! It was a really nice post. <3 |

Reason you love dark types: Most of the dark Pokémon are great Pokémon. Their evilness makes them of good use for antagonists. Most dark Pokémon make good sweepers with high offense and speed. In the Trading Card Game their moves often can have nasty side effects. Three partner pokemon: Houndoom, Tyranitar, Absol What are your favorite dark type Pokémon and why? I like a lot of them, almost all of them. I'll just mention my partner Pokémon here. Firstly Houndoom, which has high special attack and is maybe the only dark Pokémon from Gen II/III which can make a good use of the special dark type moves. Most other dark Pokémon excel at their attack. Secondly, Tyranitar, which isn't only a cool rampaging dinosaur, but also got an unique ability in Gen III, as the only non-legendary Pokémon with a weather causing ability. It is terribly strong with Dragon Dance in its moveset. Thirdly I mention Absol, which is to me a typical dark Pokémon, preferring offense over defense. Also it has cool legends in being the disaster Pokémon. |

Ya i would pick zoroark over ditto any day even if ditto is kind of useful.... Yes the theory is widely discussed and zoroark is proven to be able to shift into humans along woth zorua. I think it would benefit from the mega if they just upped his stats a little bit im pretty sure he could use alittle more defense but not a ton just enough to make it harder to one hit KO him nothing tanky. The extra SpAtk would help to id love to see him with that. Im thinking of what his mega would look like im gonna look on dev and google and edit in a pic of what he may look like :) THANK U! I really did try hard on this and it took awhile plus my browser refreshed so i had to redo the entire thing! Haha but that wont get me down and i plan to on all future featured dark types and i hope to get a little bigger response i will put all my efforts into this club while continuing to be active in other clubs and forums :) Quote:

Edit: Found some Megas less detail but i like them the best :) Like them?http://i61.*.com/2mov76g.jpg http://i61.*.com/2iieg4z.jpg |
The above Mega is a nice sprite. However, going from bipedal to quadrupedal gives a loss of agility. I don't really see this fitting with Zoroark. It really needs its speed to be a sweeper. Also this Mega looks like it's getting more physically offensive instead of special.
The lower one is just a different color scheme. Megas are more than that. |
We'll from our knowledge we dont know for a fact that Megas will always be oh so different hehe.
Anyways i disagree being 4 legged doesnt always slow down a pokemon exactly how so? I mean the fastest animals in the world are 4 legged :) but i do see what ur saying and zoroark does go from a small little four legged fox to bipedal plus im sure it could still stand up :) Edit: the second one has minor differences less fur increased muscle and more fur in the headline to create more aerodynamic features allowing more agility claws are also a bit larger and more muscles exposed for more powerful blows which may lead to increased attack and SpAtk. :) Oh and this is my new wallpaper on my ipad. :) http://i59.*.com/260943r.jpg I <3 it! |

Att: +45 Def: +40 SpA: +15 SpD: +30 Spd: -30 It then still has a base speed of 75, which isn't really slow, just slower. |
OK! Haha
ok so Firstly Merry Christmas Everyone! Ok since I should make a new topic before Friday I guess now is as good a time as ever! Which dark types (in your opinion) are underrated and you would like to see more of in the games? & which dark types do you feel are overused? Happy Chatting! Btw Han you are correct it is bulkier which could increase both attack and SpAtk but its not too slow afterwords but I see it losing more like -15 speed rather than 30 :) but who knows! |
Happy holidays you guys! Have a good one. :]
Mega Zoroark's bulkier design probably does mean a slow in speed as it gains more muscles and strength but this shouldn't affect it too drastically. Its other stats would probably get boosted up to match the loss and therefore make Zoroark stronger, just in other aspects. At worst, people would dislike the change in the mega's playstyle. But I dunno, the design's off for what appeared to be a cunning thief and shapeshifter before. It seems like too much of a change, don't you guys think? Which dark types (in your opinion) are underrated and you would like to see more of in the games? & which dark types do you feel are overused? I think dark types are all pretty respected or at least have a decent fanbase but I'll throw my thoughts in on the ones that stand out. For underrated, I'd say the pokemon that wouldn't be as appreciated either have better counterparts or less appealing design ideas. The first two that come to mind in this case would be either Stunky or Poochyena. With Poochyena, most people assume 'it's a first route pokemon, those suck'. Personally, I think people should cut it some slack. For one, it's actually quite decent in battle with an array of physical moves and Intimidate. And secondly, its design. I've always been a fan of how wolfy and realistic Poochyena's design is compared to the walking trees or catastrophe bringers of Hoenn. Not that they're bad but for a dog pokemon, Poochyena's been done with a great transition from puppy to adult. So if you've never tried your hand at Poochyena, I suggest you ignore all the mixed opinions and try him out yourself. He's pretty good! Then there's Stunky. I think the idea and its general appearance is what really throws people off the most. For example, what do you think of with the word skunk? The smell? Most likely. Overall, Skunky gets mixed feelings from people. I know for one that I love it but my friends used to go on about the exact opposite. But really, this one's great as well so I recommend picking one up. The poison/dark's unique as well if you're into originality and all that good stuff. For overused, I'd say Tyranitar. Tyranitar's definitely a powerhouse with its strong stats and move but there's just so much hype surrounding it as a look-alike pseudo legendary. I will say that it does a wonderful job at making me think of Godzilla though. <3 |
Which dark types (in your opinion) are underrated and you would like to see more of in the games? & which dark types do you feel are overused?
When it comes to this, I feel there's a lot, unfortunately. Off top of my head, one would definitely have to be Absol. Although a lot of fans tend to like it due to how its appearance looks, it rarely seems to get actually used, whether it be in-game by non-playable characters or competitively, which sucks. It did get a mega-evolution form, but unfortunately, that did not seem to boost its usage much, which is much worse. I wish this weren't the case! Even though it does have a mega-form already, I would love to see this Pokémon get an actual evolution in future, in hopes to perhaps, someday, it begins to incline. Due to similar reasons, I also feel that Mightyena is also slightly underrated, and believe would be great if it were to receive the same treatment and whatnot. It's a decent Pokémon, but could definitely be turned better if given the chance. |
Quote:
Omg ya skunky is so looked over and Poocheyna i really havent used them much i think maybe i used mightenyena once but never skunky. Quote:
Once again ya mightenyena is actually pretty powerful and has a decent moveset but its like that pokemon is so common so people dont use it often. Is Skorpi underrated? I never used one and theres not many people hunting down that draping ik its a poweful pokemon with a good typing but i never see it in battles :/ Anyways... Happy Holidays Everyone! I hope i did get the chance to spam each and everyones visitor messages with my Merry Christmas! Enjoy the day everyone! |
The fact that I forgot there was another poison/dark already makes Drapion seem like one of those forgotten dark types. :(
Drapion's not bad but I think it got thrown into the plethora of new Gen IV pokemon and lost amongst them. There were quite a few other dark types available such as Houndoom or Honchkrow and those were probably favoured amongst more fans for the better design or typing. Design-wise, I don't really like what they did. I know it's hard to give a small scorpion an evolution (unless they just made a bigger scorpion) but Drapion was rather awkward. The facial expression was more silly than menacing and its body structure looked uncomfortable. It's not entirely bad but I'm just not a huge fan on its design, sorry! Battle-wise, I'd have no clue on how well it does since I've never really had interest training one. From the few I've gone against though, it can work in a competitive environment for all sorts of different purposes. I believe it can also set some hazards and its pretty strong physically? But I wouldn't remember since its been a while since I've done any form of battling. :p |
I almost forgot it was friday with Christmas and all! So new pokemon!

Which dark types (in your opinion) are underrated and you would like to see more of in the games? & which dark types do you feel are overused?
I think especially Poochyena, since it's one of those beginning-of-the-game Pokémon. Also because Team Aqua and Magma are using a lot of them, without evolving them, which makes them very unchallenging opponents. Mightyena aren't that bad, they have good attack (a pity that bite and crunch were special in their debut generation) and Intimidate is a nice ability. |
That's basically the reason why most people won't even try using a Poochyena. :(
@ Pangoro: As a design, I preferred the lighter colour schemes of Beartic and Ursaring but Pangoro itself isn't bad either. Instead of using a panda's real personality, Gamefreak attempted to create a much more active and aggressive panda fighter. This was also one of the many things that I liked, a twist on their usual portrayal. Sure, I'm all for pandas eating bamboo any other day but they'd of then ended up creating a clone of Slaking. We don't need anymore of those guys. :( In battle, it's probably my favourite out of the two existing dark/fighting types. While Scrafty arguably has the upperhand offensively, I prefer Pangoro's more well-rounded meatshield stance. Whether it's hammering someone in the face, giving them a swift punch or a couple of jabs, Pangoro's able to tear through teams with moves inherited from both of its typings. From here, there were a few interesting things I picked up. Pangoro's dex entry states things like how it holds a leaf in its mouth as opposed to a bamboo stalk or that it's of a violent nature but doesn't harm or intimidate others. And for that, I kudos Pangoro for the anti-bullying stance. Love it. :] Overall thoughts? It's definitely not my favourite but I admire most aspects of its design, backstory and battling skills. While I have no idea how viable Pangoro is competitively, it's a pretty great in-game steamroller with a cute prevolution to match. :) |
Ooh Pangoro... nice choice for the new featured Pokemon! I really loved this thing and I recall using one in the main story in X, and with Iron Fist it can hit very hard with its punching moves. And then come OR/AS it gets more new toys to abuse the ability with, such as the ever-so-popular Elemental Punches trio.
Its Pokedex entries pointing out how it doesn't tolerate bullying makes it very different to most Dark-types, in that it's not sneaky or menacing but acts more like something that sticks up for its buddies. As for appearance, it was nice to finally see a proper panda Pokemon. Spinda in my opinion, didn't look very panda-like at all. |

Its really surprising that a dark type and a little bit of a scary pokemon like Pangoro has a sweet side :) hes really tough and is mean when needed but hes got that side that no other dark type really possesses. True those punch moves in Oras help him a lot and will pretty much help you own any foe haha. Is spinda really supposed to be a panda? lol it doesnt look it at all |
Pangoro is really cool, but unfortunately I didn't get to use one. It seems pretty powerful and I like the panda look, now I just have to acquire one and use it :P I noticed it has a nice movepool to work with, which I like since versatility is definitely a preference for Pokémon I use.
|
In terms of design and whatnot, I love Pangoro.
Pangoro is designed after a bear of sorts, I believe, and it does look exactly like it! Its overall body is rather simplistic, as they haven't added too much of features as they had done with other Pokémon in the past, and I feel that's a great step they took. In my eyes (and I'm sure many others'), simple-looking Pokémon are easy to get attached with (few examples of this would be Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and so forth). When it comes to competitive, I'm not sure if I could say much things, unfortunately, as I haven't used it before. Looking at its Dex, it could learn some decent attacks, but its stats doesn't seem to be too great, which might be a reason as to why we don't see this Pokémon being used a lot in competitive scene. If it weren't for that, I'm sure the story would have been different! Hopefully, they will fix it up at some point when they give Pangoro a mega-evolution form. |
Alright so since its been awhile i got another topic since i like to do one before the featured pokemon!
What is your favorite secondary typing for a Dark-type? I thought it was a good question and it doesnt have to be one that exists currently. Id say a dark and fairy would be a cute and cool combonation! |
Got a new tablet, woot! Should hold me till I get my charger back.
Anyways, I find Nuzleaf a bit of an underrated Dark type. To me, the design is a little awkward and because of that it can be forgettable. Poochyena and Stunky are both lovely too; Mightyena is one of my favourite Pokémon. As for Pangoro, when I first saw I was saying "Please don't outclass Scrafty" but I think the design is cool. Due to my Scrafty fangirling, I was trying to use Pangoro in Y but I didn't like using it. For favourite secondary typing, I love Dark combined with Steel, Fighting or Flying. Dark/Ghost is awesome too! |
Oh, snap why am I not here already? Oh well, Im signing up!
Username: Sven Reason you love dark types: There's no light without darkness, no? Anyway, I like Dark Pokemon cos I see them as peaceful dark creatures just looking for a shadow where they can rest. 3 partner pokemon: Ugh, three only? Ok lets see, Umbreon, Sharpedo and Mightyena and Absol, but honestly I love most of Dark Pokemon lol I cant choose two from Absol, Mightyena and Sharpedo ugh. You chould add an option like, if you make 10 posts here you can add one more Pokemon lol. What is your favorite secondary typing for a Dark-type? I'll go with Fire. Dark and fire really kinda fit each other. Plus there is nothing more intimidating seeing a fire breathing creature approaching from shadows, read, Dragon. |

Great u got a new charger glad to see u back on! Quote:
I love ur reason haha Hey 3 is more than most clubs lol plus i gotta search for a sprite and tinypic everything lol. Umbreon is great but u prob know that from my sig! And sharpedo is a fast cool dark type and i like its typing with water a lot! Mightenyena is actually a powrful pokemon i used it in emerald and it was a lot better than Shiftrey was to me! Omg absol too lol. I could add once u have 20 posts here u can get another but people would have to keep track of their own posts i got enough work already haha. Fire and dark is a great combo thats why i love mega Houndoom! |
Quote:
Alright 3 is fair enough. I had to try dont blame me, its hard to choose 10, let alone 3 haha. I choose most of my favorites by their appearance, but yeah, they're pretty powerful :D |
What is your favorite secondary typing for a Dark-type?
Defensively, dark is weak against fighting, fairy and bug. One of these options would fit best. Secondary fairy: blocks fight and bug Secondary ghost: blocks fight and bug Secondary flying: blocks fight and bug Secondary steel: blocks fairy and bug |
Quote:
Lets see Dark and ghost: sableye, spiritomb Dark and flying: Mandibuzz, Honchkrow Dark and steel: ummm Bisharp You also gotta think how the secondary typing affects them so weaknesses for: Dark ghost: fairy Dark and flying: fairy, rock, ice, electric Dark and fairy: poison, steel Dark and steel: fighting(4x), fire, ground So the 2 best would likely be dark and ghost and dark and fairy but i think there are others that may also be better :) |
Featured Dark Type Of the Week! http://i57.*.com/r88cbm.jpg Houndoom, The Dark Pokémon. The flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. If they cause a burn, it will hurt forever.Long ago, people imagined its eerie howls to be the call of the grim reaper. If you are burned by the flames it shoots from its mouth, the pain will never go away. Upon hearing its eerie howls, other Pokémon get the shivers and head straight back to their nests. Well i saw that several people loved Houndoom and i love it too plus i needed a mega for the first time but the main reason i chose this was because it was the most detailed response to the favorite dark type from Aslan! Houndoom is a boss, enough said. I had a shiny one once but reset the game without trading it out and I majorly regret that one. I used it in Platinum and it is a very good special attacker for sure.

This sounds fun!!
Username: FeaXy Reason you love dark types: I love dark types because they are cool and deadly. They have good moves, I started to love dark types because when I played pokemon ruby for the 1st time, I lost to Sydney and I realized that having a dark type team is a deadly and fearsome team. Also, Darkness is a weapon against Darkness. 3 partner pokemon: Honchkrow, Hydreigon, Zoroark Answer any current topic: Hmmm, I think Dark-Dragon, Dark-Flying and Dark-Ghost are my favorites. And Dark-Poison it sounds cool and vicous :3 |
Hey there, Feaxy and welcome! They're pretty amazing as a monotype team, I'd have to agree! There's just so much diversity, type possibilities and stats amongst them. And I'm not surprised that you'd find them deadly and fearsome, haha. Those are definitely the first two words that I thought of when trying to describe them.
I know I've already gone into Houndoom before but to answer the POTW discussion: As stated before, Houndoom was formerly my favourite pokemon. Today, it's my second favourite. There are many reasons for this, the first being that it was arguably my best MVP of all time. Another reason was that I absolutely loved dogs, which Houndoom was. And then there was the unpleasant dex entry which really got me hooked into wanting to use and learn more about the pokemon. When I was a kid, I loved dark or beastly creatures. Werewolves, dragons, basilisks, you named it. Seeing Houndoom was like combining two of my favourite animals and ideas together; darkness and canines. Combined, the two created what could be mistaken for something along the lines of Death's pet dog. As for the whole never ending pain and howl of the grim reaper that comes with its dex entry, it's a bit unsettling but rather cool in a way. They'd probably create fear and terror amongst the pokemon universe but like dogs, would be loyal to the ones they cared about the most. Pretty sweet, really. I won't go into anything else since I've covered it before but yes, I like its mega too! I think they did a great job at making it more intimidating. :] |
Houndoom is a beast. It's not even that big and can still scare the crap out of anyone lol.
I dont think I actually ever used him, but that wouldn't be such a bad idea! |

Houndoom is really a good pokemon because it has good attack,sp attack and speed. Its looks is very cool and I used it in pokemon emerald and It can almost wipe out my enemy team!
|
Oh, it's Houndoom! <3
I also once had Houndoom as my favourite Pokemon and I do agree it has a nice design; love how it's based off the Cerberus. The Mega was well deserved too since Houndoom needed more love and its stats could use a boost. Not sure if it's still viable but it can run a Sucker Punch, Pursuit, Crunch and Fire Blast set; yeah I need to stop being rusty and start battling again. |
Zoroark is amazing i trained one for my friend and didnt realize i was putting my self up for defeat in our upcoming battles being wiped out by the same zoroak i had trained not that long ago xD i got it so low on health with my hitmonlee almost beating it but i agree on the second mega picutre about it might be raising attack but not speical since it seems to ocus on physical that special based on design

Reason you like the dark type: It is one of my favourite types (along with fire) and the type itself brings a lot of strategy into the Pokémon gameplay in general by having many tactical moves to choose from. 3 partner pokemon: Houndoom, Weavile, Tyrannitar Answer any current topic: It depends on whether the type is just there to give the Pokémon some more strengths and weaknesses, or if it actually brings some diversity onto the table. On an unrelated note, I disliked the fact that the Dark-Type got a new weakness. There's already the Fighting-Type for that, it wasn't overpowered in the first place and there are moves to stop the effect of a Dark-Type move. Trying out this new "Fatface" font, it's intriguing really! |

Hello There! I'm DarkPoke001, and i'm hoping to join :)
i believe there was another Dark-Type group, bit then that died down and i had nowhere to express my love for Dark Types :( Anyways, Username: DarkPoke001 Reason you love dark types: They are pretty much the perfect Pokémon (even after they got Fairy Type weakness) Most are really cool looking, (Sharpedo, Tyranitar) and they can be VERY powerful. Not to mention, Dark Pulse is probably my favourite TM 3 partner pokemon: UMBREON!!, Bisharp and Hydreigon Answer any current topic: My favourite type, to go along with Dark Type would probably be either Ghost (for the limited amount of Weaknesses) or maybe Dragon (There is nothing cooler than a huge Dragon, and THEN making it Dark Type as well! ^_^ |

Featured Dark Type Of the Week! http://i58.*.com/xm01tu.jpg Hydreigon, The Brutal Pokémon. It responds to movement by attacking. This scary, three-headed Pokémon devours everything in its path! The heads on their arms do not have brains. They use all three heads to consume and destroy everything. This brutal Pokémon travels the skies on its six wings. Anything that moves seems like a foe to it, triggering its attack. Well he is a personal fav of mine and many it seems. Although he as a large amount of weaknesses he easily has a great SpAtk stat. With fairy added it added another weakness to the list of a 4x weakness which is an automatic danger but hydreigon is still one of the most powerful dark type pokemon and is continuously used in battling. You have Dark Pulse written twice it seems.
But yee it's Hydreigon! This thing was actually the reason why I wanted a Gen 5 game in the first place: awesome design and at the time it has two of my favourite types combined. One thing that puts me off about it is its high level (64 is 2high4meh) but I did use it in Black~ Second overall fav Pokemon too! |

Thanks for telling me though! I used it in black2 but not in white cause i was way to lazy to train it to that level :3 I guess it was just easier to level ur pokes up in the sequels but still i think they should lower it some day haah. But overall great poke powerful scary love the pokedex entry and ummmm i forgot what i was gonna say lol. Ill edit the post though! |

Username: Pendraflare Reason you love dark types: They're known for being mischievous and often have great offense stats to back them up, so they come with a rad style. 3 partner pokemon: Houndoom, Hydreigon, Absol Answer any current topic: What is your favorite secondary typing for a Dark-type? Tough question, but although this would be more relevant in Generation V, Fighting. Its two STAB-types were really good at the time, making Scrafty very formidable with Dragon Dance, good defenses and three very helpful abilities backing it up. Although the Fairy-type does screw it over pretty hard this generation, it's still fun to some degree. |
I still think Hydreigon could of been turned into a legendary, haha. It's basically a huge three-headed monster that's able to hurl all sorts of attacks at you. Had it been a standalone pokemon, I think it definitely could be incorporated into the storyline as a Team Galactic scenario (i.e the capture of the lake guardians but with Hydreigon) and Ghetsis using its power or something of the like. It'd also explain the one on his team but it's not bad as a normal dragon and dark type regardless! I think people give him a lot of slack for just the 4 x weakness to fairy but he's really strong with Dark Pulse / Draco Meteor / all the flashy moves. :]
And yeah, its design is definitely up there with some of the most intimidating. With heads on its arms, three on one neck and a look that screams 'I'm going to eat you and it'll be glorious', nothing more needs to be said. It's just great in every aspect - battle, design, stats and everything you'd want or need in a dark type. |
I LOVE Hydreigon, which is why i chose it as one of my partner Pokémon ^_^
For starter's Hydreigon design is just FANTASTIC it looks scary and menacing (and it's Pokédex entry definitely supports this! I kind of think it's like Dragonair - Dragonite. Zweilous's design looks okay but not as good as it could be, then it evolves into this giant Three-headed beast I actually HAVE used my Hydreigon in Y in competitive battling, and if i recall correctly, he was rather successful and did that extra bit to help me win :) Overall, I love Hydreigon. It's ability to use both Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse (two of my favourite moves) makes it all the more amazing and they really went all out on it's design ^_^ I used him in game in Y, but in Unova, it was far to late in the game when i realised what his final evolution was (the fact that he doesn't evolve till Lv. 64 didn't help either!) but of course i got one in the end ;) |
I never used him in a Gen V/VI game because I either 1. never brought the game for it or 2. got bored of the game before I had a chance to get it. Nevertheless, I like Hydreigon because it is unique in terms of actual Pokémon (in terms of design and typing) but it's hard to use competitively IMO if you don't have a defense against Fairy types. |

Well thats why i chose it a lot of people had it as a partner so i thought people might love to see it next week i got a better one hehe. Zweilous is weird in which it has 2 active heads but then evolves into hydreigon oh ya we'll grow another but the other 2 wont have brains haha but i love its pokedex entry! He does do pretty great competitively despite hi weaknesses though very high SpAtk. Anyways great answers haha glad ur enjoying the club! Quote:
The only thing i wish for is something like HGSS where the pokemon followed u and i want my hydreigon behind me hehe scared? :3 Also i am also looking for anyone that can do support bars! And i am wondering if people would be willing to participate in competitions here ;) |
Yay, Hydreigon! As my current avatar can kinda tell, I REALLY like this thing. I remember battling Ghetsis' in BW, that thing is crazy alright, what with its massive coverage and very high Speed. It requires serious strategy to effectively defeat. That said...
What is your opinion on his overall look? One of my favorite designs in the series. Never mind that it's reminiscent of King Ghidorah from Godzilla, they remade that thing quite well here. It's just a Pokémon made very cool, vicious and angry, and gosh darn it it's pretty rad. Would you use him in competitive battling? In the very brief time period I played XY OU in 2013, I had it on my team for a special attacker, but it had coverage to stand behind it. Do you overall like, love, or hate him? Why? If this wasn't enough of an indication, I love this thing because it's really cool in basically every regard, even with its glaring weakness. And in Generation V I always enjoy battling it when it's present. Did you ever use him in game in Unova? I never used it before post-game, but I have one that I bred in White 2 back in 2012 with awesome stats (Modest nature, 27/19/30/31/31/31 IVs, max Sp Atk + Speed). I used it in a handful of events in-game, and I remember when I trained it up the same day I bred it. |

By support bars, do you mean userbars? If so, I know of a few websites that can help, though I did attempt to make a userbar in the past and I didn't have a lot of luck. I may have to try again soon, as it's been a long time since I've tried. I will report back if I am able to make one, but if there's any problems, just say. What kind of competitions do you mean? Are they based on things like the battle server for battles or are they more on the quiz-side of things? I'm just asking because you didn't seem to have mentioned it on the opening post. As for the topic at hand, I suppose Hydreigon is a competitive Pokémon in those aspects. I guess I never used it, which is why I don't actually know how competitive it could be. I predict that it's because I generally prefer stalling an opponent when doing a competitive battle becuase it allows me to boost the Pokémon's stats in most occasions, or set up a Substitute and an Aqua Ring. About the HG/SS walking Pokémon, I liked that addition too, it seemed to tell you the Pokémon's friendship levels sometimes, IIRC. It saved you the trouble of going to Goldenrod City to find out if that Pokémon is ready to evolve yet. |

The coolest Dragon I have never used, Hydreigon.
Honestly, it's a lack of Gen V gameplay more than anything, but I do have one that I caught in X, so I could work on it and see what kind of power I missed out on :P It's definitely a unique design and one of my favorites from Gen V. |
I remember watching Marriland's X Adventure back in 2013, and he caught himself a wild Hydreigon in Victory Road at Level 59. While i've never gotten one from there, that's still a pretty awesome find to anybody who can nab one like that. Also explains how Ghetsis and Iris got theirs under-leveled, no?

I do have a new topic since its been a reasonable amount of time since DTPOTW
although I like to give 3 days so next time ill just hve a new topic on Tuesday since theres 3 days in between each :P so this is one of my fav topics for all types to hear peoples opinions and we have a lot to discuss about megas but heres the startoff. What dark type in your opinion should gain a mega? |
I believe Bisharp or Krookodile deserve one
Bisharp is overall, a really cool looking Dark type, but the problem is, Steel typing in way makes it more fragile although without Steel type it would be vulnerable to Fairy and Ghost. Since Fire and Ground are two really popular types however, so i believe Bisharp should be able to counter these in some way (maybe a Mega with Levitate somehow? :D ) and it obviously needs a stat increase, in Defense would be useful and a mega could give it that. Krookodile was a really cool Pokémon back in Gen V but in Gen VI, it seems to have lost that popularity, mainly as many do not find it that useful competitively, this may be because of the vast mount of weaknesses that it has, and i believe a Mega with both increased stats and a changed typing could help it (Maybe Ground could be changed to Rock, or Steel perhaps?) I just really liked it back in the day and feel it should get a Mega. |
A M-Bisharp sounds cool! I think for it to be levitating, it'd have to gain the ability to float from somewhere. Whether that's converting it to part flying type or adding rockets on its feet, that's the only way I can really see it happening. But yeah, it definitely needs one to fight off against all the popular types its weak too. Bisharp is also pretty amazing by itself so I think a mega would make it even better amongst fans, haha.
Defiant works actually! Yeah, we don't want to go too overboard. So maybe keep its same typing when it mega evolves and just buff its stats or something? Also I'd love to see a Mega Hydreigon. Would bring it back up amongst the rank of dragon types and also be unbelievably badass at the same time. :D |
What dark type in your opinion should gain a mega?
I feel it would be rather nice if some Pokémon such as Scrafty were to get one, perhaps. When it was first introduced in generation five games--Black and White--it was quite popular. Its design seemed to have been liked by many fans, including me, and when it came to battling, it was very easy to utilize. It's got Shed Skin ability as well as Moxie; former allows it to have its status restored, while latter raises it Attack stat every time it would take down an opponent. These are two things that made Scrafty very well-liked among competitive battlers, I believe. Unfortunately, its usage seemed to have dwindled after introduction of Black 2 and White 2, and when X and Y made their way, Scrafty was... completely gone, in a way. Nowadays, we find the Pokémon on about one team in every ten, which isn't that great. If it were to gain some mega-evolution form, however, I feel it would certainly help boost its popularity, generally, as it would be having more of high stats overall (maybe even access to some new moves alongside?). |

I am seeing a lot of bisharp which I agree with but idk about it resisting earthquake especially because I can never see it levitating as it is a soldier pokemon ;) hmm though it be nice with the increase in defense and such also a new ability that resisited fighting type moves would make it awesome although thinking of new abilities is hard haha but still that would give it a lot more leverage and use. Since we just discussed hydreigon im glad to see the suggestion because that would be awesome although it may end up having insanely high attack stats it would be ok due to its weaknesses and would ko a ton of pokes then XD Krookodile is actually one of my favorite pokes! because of its great typing cool design and coloring plus its power its still a great poke just average it needs that extra boost to put him on the competitive seen :P Kinda same with Scrafty its also been used a ton then died off a bit after 5th gen and I really never see him on too many teams anymore. so same as krookodile average power unique typing just needs that little boost to bump him up! |
I don't think a flying Bisharp would be possible without a flying chess set, but of course there's Logic Chess for that. I'm not against it, though, in fact, I think it should get propellors of all things.
However, I actually think that it would be better if it had much better defenses than before, as almost every dark type centers around sweepers. Instead of worrying about Bisharp's weaknesses, think about the other types. If Bisharp was a wall, it would be harder for anything else to counter it. |
Yeah, I'm not too sure on flying Bisharp, either, sadly. I suppose it would have made sense if it had some pair of wings (perhaps tiny ones, similarly to ones from Scizor; I believe they would look better on humanoid Pokémon like this), but unfortunately, it does not carry them. They might be able to lend them to Bisharp after it mega-evolves, but I don't exactly know if that would be accepted by fans. When Pokémon change into their mega-evolution form, they go through minor changes, at least for most part, and this sounds to be rather major. It's a unique idea, though, nonetheless!

POTW: Hydreigon
Hydreigon has an awesome design, totally looking like an evil floating beast wanting to destroy everything. I haven't trained it in any game, but I've used it on the Battle Server at which it was an awesome sweeper. While I like Hydreigon, I don't really like its evolution line. Zweilous is just a two-headed Deino, not much of a change. But when Zweilous evolved further it suddenly looses all its legs, grows another head and starts floating. However Hydreigon isn't the dragon at which is the most change, that's the evolution from Dragonair to Dragonite. |

M. Bisharp would be cool but it's already in OU to punish the Defoggers but another buff would be nice; it's an epic Pokemon and it helps against those pesky Fairies in my Dark Mono~ M. Hydreigon would be epic; since some pseudos already got Megas why not Hydreigon? :3 But yeah like Scrafty, Hydreigon got pressured by Fairies and was pushed into UU. I also made a sketch for M. Hydreigon but I need to scan them. In fact, give every fully evolved Dark type a Mega. :3 EDIT: I'm MidnightCombat btw, just got this username change. |

What dark type in your opinion should gain a mega?
I would give one to Honchkrow. It's a nifty Pokémon that I think a Mega Evolution could give even more of a "boss" design to. It could use a bit more Speed and/or Defenses, and while it already has some fun abilities, I think they could give a Mega Evolution for it something even cooler than Moxie or Super Luck. |
What dark type in your opinion should gain a mega?
Mightyena could definitely use a Mega to boost its Attack stat. I like using it but it oculd use a bit more power. Mega Drapion would be pretty cool too, personally I think it should be given 4 arms (if you can call them arms) to make it look even more intimidating. |
Featured Dark Type Of the Week! http://i58.*.com/2u76043.png Honchkrow, The Big Boss Pokémon. It is merciless by nature. It is said that it never forgives the mistakes of its Murkrow followers. But yeah, I like Honchkrow! It has a hat made out of feathers and I like the little moon near its eyes. I haven't used it competitively though. I heard Honchkrow's new HA is going to be Defiant; I guess it helps to punish Intimidate and Defog users. :P |
PRAISE MAFIA BIRD
When I first started playing pokemon back in D/P/Pt, I had a guidebook that helped me out with the confusing parts of the storyline or what pokemon were available in what locations. So one day, I was skimming through the regional pokedex and came across two pokemon, Murkrow and Honchkrow. I immediately wanted to train one on my team. So disregarding the beginning part of the storyline, I rushed my way through the plot until I reached Eterna Forest. Entering, I spent a good hour or so searching for one. Nothing. Huh, that couldn’t be right. Isn’t Murkrow available in Plati- oh god. And you can picture the rest. Imagination, folks! That being said, I was really enthusiastic about training one. I love the whole head honcho approach they did alongside the mafia-like design. Huge black bird with a hat? Heck yeah. |
In terms of design, I'm really a big fan of how bulky Honchkrow seems to be.
We've got a lot of bird Pokémon out there, but many of them are rather swift-looking than tank-y (could of examples of this would be Xatu, Sigilyph, Pidgeot, and Talonflame), but this one, however, is kind of different, which is something that makes it so special in my eyes. Its appearance complements its battling style as well, in a way; when it comes to taking part in matches, it's able to endure a good amount of hits, and its design does represent that, considering how much meat and fur Honchkrow has attached onto its body. Alongside, the Pokémon also has access to some decent moves, such as Sucker Punch, Brave Bird, and so forth. |
Now as promised i have a new topic! Btw i really love your guys opinion on honchkrow and discussion will remain open for that so along with this topic plz feel free to discuss DTPOTW freely!
So i was saving this but i want a big big big convo going on so im hoping for a good amount of replies and maybe some debate cause ive debated this with friends and in my mind and its not always 100% clear so discuss!!!! As of 6th gen Fairy-type is now super effective against Dark types while Steel loses it's resistances against Dark along with Ghost. What are your thoughts on all of the changes? How do you think it will affect the Dark type and all dark type pokemon competitively? Will it improve it or make it worse? Edit: If i didnt stress this enough lemme just say... BIG! conversation about this! |

How do you think it will affect the Dark type and all dark type pokemon competitively? Will it improve it or make it worse?
I really think it made things worse for them. Some people think the Fairy-type was worse to Dark and Fighting-types than it was to the Dragon-types, and with a few of the most well-known ones from Generation V taking a major hit, it becomes harder to use them effectively, but that's not to say they're unusable. But since Steel doesn't resist it anymore, it made Foul Play a more usable move (particularly against Excadrill and Metagross), and it gave the Steel/Psychic-types a run for their money now that they have more weaknesses then previously. So they definitely didn't completely lose out, but the Fairy-types are hazardous, surely. |

How do you think it will affect the Dark type and all Dark type Pokemon competitively? Will it improve it or make it worse?
The weakness to Fairy really made me despise the new type since my top two favourites are 4x weak to it. I would be fine with it if Dark was also super effective against Fairies but it's not. I personally think Dark now be neutral against Steel doesn't make sense but I'm fine with it. I guess since Steel is the best defensive type, it could use a nerf. Most used Dark types off the top of my head are Greninja (but then the banhammer), Bisharp, Mandibuzz, Sableye (more so its Mega) and Tyranitar. Mega-Gyara's there too if you want to count it. There's Weavile too but it's not used enough to be OU; only sitting at BL. To be honest, that's only a small handful of Dark type users and it has shifted a bit from the previous gen, I think. Steel (or Dragon) was the most dominate type in Gen 5 and despite the Fairies, it seems some Darkies may have improved a bit. I don't meta too much so I'm not the best judge. |

Reason you love dark types: They have amazing design, beautiful moves and lets be honest, they're the coolest pokemon in town. 3 partner pokemon: Greninja, Darkrai, Yveltal Answer any current topic: I think its really unfair, that dark loses two types that it once resisted and another type thats super effective. I think they should add back the resistance to ghost and steel, as its basically lost its touch. |
POTW: Honchkrow
First of all, Honchkrow is a great addition to Murkrow as an evolution. Murkrow was one of those Gen II basic Pokémon unable to evolve, but still didn't have very good stats. Most of them gained an evolution in Gen IV (except Delibird). Compared to Murkrow, Honchkrow looks indeed a lot bulkier and indeed evolution to Honchkrow means a loss of 20 base speed. When you compare the two, Murkrow looks like a thief or a witch while Honchkrow looks like a leader, logically the reason why it's called the big boss Pokémon. The hat is one of the things you'd notice immediately, I really like this part of it's design. This hat is totally necessary for its status as the big boss. When you depict a Mafia Boss it always has a hat. It's cool how they made hat as an actual body part made of feathers. I used Honchkrow in Pokémon Diamond. It was a good addition to my team. It was one of my rare playthroughs in which my flying Pokémon wasn't normal/flying and not from Zubat's evolution line. |
Honchkrow, huh? Let's see...
These are optional discussing other things other than these makes it more fun! He's been used by two villainous team bosses - Cyrus and Lysandre, so it's made clear that Game Freak must like this thing for the villainous teams. There were a few Galactic Grunts that used Murkrow, also. What is your opinion on his overall look? It's nice, that "hat" on its head gives it a nifty edge and makes it more boss-like. Would you use him in competitive battling? Given that he has Moxie and STAB Sucker Punch, he's usable alright, but I don't really battle competitively although I have seen him on rare occasion. Do you overall like, love, or hate him? Why? I like him. He's not my all-time favorite Dark-type but I can respect him, even if he's not great. Did you ever use him in game sinnoh or other regions? I used one once in the post-game in Soul Silver, and I almost used an HA Murkrow in X once, but didn't after I found out how much of a pain it would be to train it up from such a low level, which wasn't helped by the fact that the Dusk Stone wasn't until near the last badge. |
Honchkrow already seems like a fully-evolved Pokémon in eyes of many fans, so I don't believe many of us would imagine it getting some actual evolution in future, if they were to give Honchkrow one.
However, it's definitely possible for the Pokémon to be getting a hold of a baby form of sorts, I suppose? After all, Murkrow does look like a middle-stage Pokémon, thinking about it, and I'm sure many of us would be able to agree; if it were to gain a pre-evolution, things would fit in quite nicely, if you ask me. As far as anime is concerned, I'm not precisely sure if I had seen much of Honchkrow, sadly. It might have made some appearance throughout Sinnoh episodes, but I didn't have tendency to watch the show regularly back then; for me, this had stopped after Advanced Generation season was over, sorry to say. |
Featured Dark Type Of the Week! http://i58.*.com/2v8k0zr.jpg Mightyena, The Bite Pokémon. It gives obvious signals when it's ready to attack. It starts to growl deeply and then flattens it's body. It will bite savagely with it's sharp fangs. Mightyena travel and act as a pack in the wild. The memory of it's life in the wild compels it to obey trainers it can sense have superior skills. I thought since 1 we didnt have one from gen 3 and 2 since its so underrated we'd talk mighteyena! Here i will go in depth on pics, stats, design, and a lot of other things so take a look! Again extremely sorry for the lateness lots of issues atm will try to be back on daily now! |
You've picked another favourite of mine. <3
Even though it's (sadly) terrible in the high tiers, the design is so amazing and I love canine-like Pokemon. I have used it in Pokemon XD and it was my second lv 100 which sadly got delete cuz Diamond. I have a figurine of it too. :3 |
Omega Ruby was the first time I got to use Mightyena and it was really good actually. I managed to get one with Thunder Fang thanks to the Dexnav. It's not the best battler in the world, but it gets the job done well enough, and I do like its fierce design.
|
I picked one up via the same method myself, haha. Seeing as it was already level 5 and had Ice Fang, it couldn't of hurt to have one around. Though I did dump it for Latias, I really did enjoy using one for the first three or so gyms. It was great for covering the weaknesses of my two fighting types while also providing its own damage with its high attack stat. Though it did fall off a bit later though so I assume that's why it got permanently boxed. :(
But if there was ever a reason to reuse Mightyena, it'd be for the design. I don't think there's even a proper word to describe how cool and intimidating it is. |
Last day to get in your opinions on mighteyena! Tommarrow will be POTW officially for this week haha i am currently between:
Weavile Absol Umbreon Hard choice though haha! |
You should do Umbreon! It's the best Eeveelution and plus I love my onesie of it~
As for Mightyena, I forgot to mention I have a little figurine of it (warning large pics!)~ Spoiler:
I concur, it needs a mega. |
I wouldn't say no to Umbreon either! It's probably either my second or third favourite eeveelution. <3
And yeah, I agree with you on the mega Mightyena. Maybe it could have its more wolfish qualities highlighted? I've always felt like it was rather werewolfy, alongside being a vicious and intimidating predator. The mega could help lead it in that direction or steer it completely opposite. What do you guys think? Also that's a cool figurine! Where'd you get it? :D |
