Critical Hit! ~ The Fire Emblem *Universe* Club

This is a club for all you members who love the series: Fire Emblem, and all its games / merchandise. :3 Here, you can discuss the games; any strategies you may have, your favorite characters, your favorite games, and so on. This is a basic free-for-all fire emblem topic here. If you are unfamiliar with Fire Emblem, you may also to learn all about it here!

What is Fire Emblem?

Fire Emblem (ファイアーエムブレム, Faiā Emuburemu?) is a tactical role-playing games franchise developed by Intelligent Systems (specifically Shouzou Kaga), the makers of Advance Wars (which shares some of Fire Emblem's strategic elements), and published by Nintendo Co., Ltd. The Fire Emblem series is well-known for its innovation and for being one of the first tactical role-playing games, with a strong emphasis on Western forms of medieval folklore. The series is also renowned for having deeply developed characters, as well as the fact that most units' death—or defeat in battle—is permanent in the game until the end of the playthrough. The series currently spans eleven games, and has been released on the Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo DS, and Wii. (Wiki)

Welcome, you two! :3

So I'm guessing both of you enjoyed Awakening? It was pretty well done! And Lucina and Severa are amazing. <333

Did you both beat the game? o:

I like Tiki as well. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/a/a5/FE13_Tiki_Manakete_Map_Sprite.gif/revision/latest?cb=20140123024828

Hey Dragon, I loved Awakening certainly one of my favorite games of all time, I only got into the franchise last year playing Awakening but Ive played Path of Radiance and Radiant dawn since

Yeah I beat it, am on a second play through, were I created the ultimate 2nd gen charictors (in my opinion lol) started that in the summer but still need to do the last two side quests and the Endgame (been playing other stuff since).

Ah, so, I'm guessing everyone here has played awakening? That's cool. :] Mmm, if so, I have a topic question for you all:

What is your favourite Fire Emblem related music?

Basically, this would be mine in a nutshell:

Like seriously, the sound tracks from Fire Emblem 4, and yeah, even Awakening, are all pretty awesome in my book. <33

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer January 12th, 2015 2:54 PM

What is your favourite Fire Emblem related music?

Other than the main theme

"Lets see what am capable of now" from Awakening. It has such optimism about it, it also meants one of your team has had a promotion..

and Caineghis theme from Radiant dawn it sounds so regal and powerful.

Austin January 12th, 2015 3:12 PM

What is your favorite Fire Emblem related music?

I've always liked the main theme of the series the most. They're all really cool, but I've heard the Awakening version the most, so I'm gonna go with that. I also really liked SSBB's rendition. The choir was pretty cool.

Alfieri January 12th, 2015 3:25 PM

The first ever Fire Emblem related track I heard was this. I love the sound of it and it always sounded Spanish to me.

Awakening is the only Fire Emblem game I played and I loved this track ever since it played during that 1 fight.

Judge Mandolore Shepard January 12th, 2015 3:46 PM

When it comes to my favorite Fire Emblem related music, some of my favorites are:
From Fire Emblem Rekka no Ken: (a.k.a. Fire Emblem)
Strike
Everything Into the Dark
Black Fang

From Fire Emblem Sacred Stones:
Confront the Past
Attack
Powerful Foe
Tethys
Solve the Riddle
In the Colosseum

From Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon:
Strike!
Gharnef, Lord of Shadow
Secret Shop

From Fire Emblem Awakening:
Menace
Mastermind
Rival
"You have power ... like mine"
Id (Darkness)
Id (Purpose)

Dusk January 12th, 2015 7:15 PM

I'm gonna go with "Destiny (Ablaze)" and "You may call me Marth"

Eeee have you all seen today's Nintendo Direct yet? There's going to be a new Fire Emblem game for the 3DS! (Not Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei, however... Wonder what happened to that title?) The release date of this new game is still unknown for any region, but I'm excited! :D
Spoiler:

Salzorrah January 15th, 2015 10:02 PM

omg yes, i saw the trailer, and let me just say.

the battle transitions looks so fucking awesome :O

AAAAAH I CANT WAIT. I just hope it isnt an N3DS exclusive, coz that would suck.

Which reminds me, I gotta finish Awakening now :(

Super excited for the new Fire Emblem. I agree, the battle transitions are soo cool.
I personally wouldn't mind if the game was a N3DS exclusive, since I'm getting one anyway, but I can see how it would be an inconvenience for many people.

I'm also pretty excited for the new Fire Emblem. I'm not sure if this is true or if any of you know about it, but in the japanese Nintendo Direct, it said that the game is going to be released in summer this year. So maybe the game will be released overseas late 2015/early 2016.

As for the current topic, some of the tracks I like are:
Ascent (Radiant Dawn)
You may call me Marth (Awakening)
Scars of the Scouring (Fire Emblem (7))
Echoes of Daybreak (Radiant Dawn)
Crimea Attacks (Path of Radiance)

Favorite Track: "With Us!" from PoR or "Stalwarts Unite!" from RD (they're basically the same track anyway) I generally like any recruitment theme but those two are my favorite.

I've played most of the games at least the ones except the first three and I'm currently playing Thracia 776. Also, the new game seems good. I liked how they retained the graphics of Awakening.

NEW FIRE EMBLEM!!!!!! Fire Emblem If has already been confirmed to be for 3DS, though I imagine it'll probably have some N3DS exclusive features (probably Fire Emblem amiibo support). Not too surprising considering the numbers Awakening pulled in, and there's no way a N3DS exclusive could do that well so soon after the console's release.

Favorite track: Expedition, which is probably a good thing since you probably here this a lot more often than other songs in Awakening. Also, Don't speak her name and Strike.

So, just wanna spark another topic question meanwhile:
What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?

Alfieri January 21st, 2015 1:34 PM

Maybe spoilers since it's plot heavy in Awakening.

Spoiler:
When Emmeryn killed herself and Lissa started crying and Chrom was furious, I caught a lot of feels with that scene and the music that played during the battle really hit me. It is very memorable.

And also when Robin gets all of the encouraging words from his friends and is able to fight back during the final battle. The track that played also helped the scene so it is memorable for me.

Austin January 21st, 2015 1:49 PM

What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?
Spoiler:
The very end of Awakening when Chrom helps Robin off the ground and says "Welcome back. It's over now."
I had the biggest smile when that happened.

I don't know why put Ive always found that music comical (as if its the theme of a incapable villain) rather than befitting of a villain like the black knight.

What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?

When Chrom and Gaius meet and Gaius joins the Shepard's becasue Chrom offers him Lissa's bag of sweets, cracks me up lol.

Warship January 22nd, 2015 9:15 AM

What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?
Spoiler:
The Battle of Barhara in Genealogy of the Holy War where Sigurd and co. gets betrayed by Arvis and they either die, flee or get crippled. I think it was the most original idea along with fighting the other team you play as in Radiant Dawn.

Dragon March 5th, 2015 7:15 PM

Bumping this!

I really can't wait to hear more news about FE14. <33 I'm also tempted to replay Fire Emblem Awakening~

Dusk March 5th, 2015 8:33 PM

Oh fudge I never answered the last topic...

What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?
I'll just pick a random humorous moment from Awakening since most others mentioned major events.
I laughed so hard in Maribelle and Lissa's C Support in Awakening when Maribelle joked about her "favorite tea blend." ^_^

One of many entertaining moments in Awakening Supports. I hope they kept the same writer for FE14!

Nah March 6th, 2015 4:19 AM

Yeah I wonder when they're gonna give us more info about FE 14. We haven't heard anything since the initial trailer. I wanna know more.....

Dragon March 6th, 2015 6:56 AM

Here's a new topic for ya~

Who is/are your favourite Lord(s) from the Fire Emblem Games?

For me, there's Erika from Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, since she's pretty, and stat's wise, she's fast, although lacking in the strength and defense wise, she can almost always make up for it by double hitting opponents, or better yet, quad hitting opponents with Brave Sword, even double hitting them aggressively before they get a chance to strike back! I also wanna mention Lyn, Hector, Marth, Chrom, Siguard, Seliph and maybe Eliwood!

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer March 6th, 2015 7:50 AM

Who is/are your favourite Lord(s) from the Fire Emblem Games?

Lucina, who else would it be xD

Pinkie-Dawn March 6th, 2015 8:13 AM

Who is/are your favourite Lord(s) from the Fire Emblem Games?
Mines would be Lucina, for her strong character, and Ike, if he counts, for his sheer strength and his memetic quotes from Smash.

What was your favourite moment from playing any one the Fire Emblem games?
When Bascillio shows up to explain Validar that the whole "Robin killing Chrom" was a set-up to catch him off-guard after Lucina warned them what happens in the future.

Judge Mandolore Shepard March 7th, 2015 6:39 AM

When it comes to my favorite Lord(s) in the Fire Emblem series, these are my favorites:
Lyn
Hector
Ephraim
Marth
Chrom

RedJ March 7th, 2015 12:35 PM

April 20th will be the series 25th anniversary, so we may hear more about FE14 then. If not, then there's the concert they're having in July, which is probably a more likely place for more info/a new trailer since it's such a huge event and close to the game's release window (Summer 2015, unless they change it before then).

Who is/are your favourite Lord(s) from the Fire Emblem Games?
Hector because he's one of the two main lords (of the games that I've played) that can actually take a hit and character wise I like him more than Chrom.

Anywho, it's about time for a new topic for you Awakening fans:

What are your favourite pairings?

Dusk March 14th, 2015 8:13 PM

What are your favourite pairings?
You ask too difficult a question, Shawn! I can't even... there are too many cute pairings! ;w;
This isn't even the tip of the iceberg, but some pairings I like that come to mind are:
Gaius x Sumia
Male Robin x Tiki
Lon'qu x Panne
Vaike x Lissa
Donnel x Nowi
Yarne x Nah
Gerome x Cynthia
Pretty much any romantic support Henry has.

There are also a few non-romantic relationships I think are cute like the close friendship between Lissa and Maribelle, how Frederick has always looked after Chrom and Lissa, how Flavia and Basilio act like an old married couple (even though they can't actually marry), and how Tiki wants to be friends with Say'ri.

Luxrayyy March 14th, 2015 8:40 PM

What are your favourite pairings?

I like both Gaius x Olivia and Lon'qu x Olivia, and I also like Cherche x Lon'qu. And Tiki x Male Avatar!

As for other games, I like the pairings Tana x Cormag (they match perfectly as Wyvern Knight and Wyvern Lord) and Nyna x Camus (makes me sad when I think about their relationship).

Nah March 15th, 2015 4:04 AM

I have a tendency to do RobinxChrom and VirionxCordelia on my playthroughs. I still don't understand why you can't marry Basilio and Flavia though. But then you can marry Lucina and Owain but the game lists them as "companions" or something like that -_-

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer March 15th, 2015 5:18 AM

What are your favourite pairings?

I have lots but rather than make a massive list I will just say my all time favourite.

Libra x Cordelia

They are the perfect couple as they are bother perfect versions of their respective gender. They are both beautiful, kind, caring, hard working and intelligent.
Also as a bonus they have Severa as their child who's attitude and personality is the polar opposite to her parents which makes for some amusing support conversations.

Judge Mandolore Shepard March 15th, 2015 5:47 AM

When it comes to my favorite pairings, these are my favorites:
Male Avatar x Tiki
Gregor x Nowi
Henry x Tharja
Donnel x Cherche
Kellam x Olivia

Pinkie-Dawn March 18th, 2015 7:02 AM

What are your favourite pairings?

Lucina X Gerome
Donnel X Lissa
Libra X Maribelle
Lon'qu X Olivia

Looks great I think, with optional paths, also what do you guuys think about Shin Megami tensei x Fire Emblem, not much FE stuff was show on the trailer but it still looks cool.

Jay April 2nd, 2015 2:53 AM

Personally I'm loving all the love Fire Emblem seems to be getting in general. Awakening really brought alot of new fans and breathed new life into the series as a whole.

In terms of Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem I'm all for it. I adore both of those franchises and seeing them together is both exciting and intriguing. The combat on the outside looks very SMT focused rather than Fire Emblem focused, but regardless I'm very excited to see what characters Atlus and Nintendo decide to include.

I am unbelievably hyped for the new Fire Emblem game. Choosing sides, picking a family (essentially and literally) and fighting for what ideals you hold true. It looks to be a tale of betrayal, twists and friendship on both sides... which is exactly what I'd expect from a Fire Emblem game!

On that note, which side are you guys planning on playing on during your first playthrough? The Peace Loving Hoshido? Or the Glory Hungry Nohr? I personally am very divided already, but I'd like to hear everyone elses opinions.

Nah April 2nd, 2015 4:51 AM

Ooh a split path/choosing sides thing? That sounds cool. I'm glad that this is for the 3DS and not some system I don't own.

Would I be correct in assuming that these 2:
http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/941/414/8b3.png
are this game's MU/Avatar?

Also, wtf is this:

It's like some weird deer-dragon thing

Dusk April 2nd, 2015 5:04 AM

The new Fire Emblem looks to have a very interesting plot! Of course, it calls for at least two playthroughs.
As for which side's story I will play first... that depends on which side has the cutest characters the ideals I agree with most.

Judge Mandolore Shepard April 2nd, 2015 5:44 AM

One thing I will say is that I am not happy about Fire Emblem If is that it will not be released outside of Japan until next year. Course I figure the release dates for the US and Europe will not be revealed until sometime later this year or next year. As for choosing which side to play first, I don't know yet.

Pinkie-Dawn April 2nd, 2015 8:01 AM

Also in other news, Fire Emblem If will be split into two versions in Japan: http://playeressence.com/japan-is-getting-two-versions-of-fire-emblem-if/

Also, why is the avatar lord barefooted? Wouldn't that be impractical in war, unless you're from the dancer class?

RedJ April 2nd, 2015 8:49 AM

People keep talking about an SMT x FE trailer, but I didn't see it. I did see a trailer for Generic Anime Game #3935830958, though. Still waiting on Atlus to announce that it was an elaborate April Fool's joke.

FE14 looked great, though, but if they pull the dual version thing outside Japan then I'm not touching it. Assuming they don't go through with that, then I'm not sure who I'll side with. I'm sort of hoping they give you an option to go off on your own and oppose both sides, because I'm getting the feeling that if that isn't the case then they're going to do what most of these sort of games do and have the leader of whatever faction you join basically use you and your power and take credit for everything themselves.

I don't think it's been outright confirmed, but apparently that is indeed the avatar who may or may not also be a lord. The transformation looks like it might be loosely based on the Qilin.

It probably has something to do with their ability to transform. Doesn't explain why everything else is armored, but then again it's not like this is the first design that Yusuke Kozaki did that didn't make sense.

I love the fact that the new Fire Emblem IF will feature that you are the Lord Class, the one who goes and does the story leading which is amazing. Did you notice the Soldiers are the same one from Awakening? So does this take place a few years after Awakening's storyline, on another landmass (duh)? That is my curiosity.

They probably just re-used the models. If has been confirmed to have no correlations with past games.

Aw wait, they're doing a dual version thing a la Pokemon? Can they please not do that?

A 3rd, neutral option would be cool, especially considering that the story could go the way you said.

Ah dammit I guess we really are getting 2 versions. Suppose I'll go for the one with the "bad" or "evil" story. At least the neutral storyline is DLC.

So which one are y'all planning to get? Or are ya gonna get both?

Luxrayyy April 2nd, 2015 9:24 PM

It's a shame that they're doing two versions! I would love to play both, but probably will be unable to afford buying both games. I like the look of the second game, I'll probably get that one first. However, unlike pokemon, these two games look like they'll have drastically different storylines, so maybe I'll have to get both!

Well, I've got about a year to decide, lol. These games look fantastic anyway! <3

Actually incorrect, Nintendo has stated that the American and European releases are going to have both versions on the same game. The Japanese releases are going to be unique as each title is going to only cover one side of the story strangely. The neutral storyline DLC that is also slated will be released worldwide when its made available.

Wait, really? Why would they do separate versions in Japan but put em together in one game for the rest of the world? If that really is the case that's great, but it sounds a little odd. Just as long as it's not some eShop only shit. I don't have the space for a whole game on my SD card.

It seems that Japan might be getting the short end of the stick in that regard. It could be Nintendo trying to monetize the vastly more prevalent popularity of the fire emblem franchise in their home country...

Fire Emblem has always been much more popular in Japan than it has been in other regions. Awakening was the first massive step forward for the franchise overseas, being the only fire emblem game that received massive popularity pretty much world-wide. Of course their were other Fire Emblem titles released over here to a very positive response, but I can say with absolute certainty that none of them reached Awakenings level in popularity.

This is the next game after Awakening and while Nintendo are very confident with the popularity Awakening received over here... it seems to me they don't want to push their luck.

Basically, I think they're only selling two versions in Japan because Japan is the only place where Fire Emblem is popular enough for them to feel comfortable with selling two versions. In Japan, both versions will sell, they'll sell very well and Nintendo knows this.

Over here however, while Fire Emblem is popular... the conversations displayed so far show pretty well that we would not be happy with two different versions being released simultaneously. Nintendo know this as well.

Pokémon doesn't have this problem because it's a damn near world-wide phenomenon, Fire Emblem simply hasn't reached that status yet and may never do so.

That's my take on it anyway. If this game is as popular as Awakening was over here... and if the two version strategy works very well in Japan... then you can take my prediction that the Fire Emblem to follow "If" will be split into two versions for us as well. (Assuming that it isn't just a one time gimmick for "If" that is.)

In the end would it really be that bad though? If we got our Fire Emblem games in double packages from here on out? Each representing a different side of the in game war presented? Who knows? Regardless, I think thinking into the games following this one is a little too prediction heavy, so for now just take the two version plan as a way for Nintendo to make more money without pushing their luck.

But in the end? That's just a theory. A GAME THEORY. Thanks for reading.

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer April 4th, 2015 1:48 PM

Yay glad we get both versions in one game. Multiple playthoughs me thinks xD

Where was that confirmed? They were vague about it during the Direct and I can't find any statement on it anywhere.

Also hopefully they include the third route on the same cartridge as well (as it should be) if this is the case, otherwise I'll only be buying this used, if I even buy it at all. Plus, I don't particularly like either side based on what little we know about them so far

It was in after-direct press discussions. From what I reading through, information has been changed or reworded.
"Japan will get two different versions of New! Fire Emblem, (different paths) NA will get one with the other as DLC." This means that America and Europe will not have full access to the Nohr storyline unless they have DLC? You are thinking, 'seriously?' when you read that, but there might be something about this. And might be this way due to another issue though from what I looking at it.

We are getting the full game, Nintendo said we are so why is Japan getting two different versions? Its because one variant focuses on a certain side while the other focuses on the other. In a nutshell, its like Pokemon in a way.

But what about us? Nintendo stated (like said prior) we are getting the full game, so my concept is that Japan is getting the two versions to fit all of the content as possible onto the cartridge, due to it's space limitations. Now we are going to get the finished game, but in my opinion, it'll be excluding additional missions or events that the JPN release will have. This is where the DLC comes in where Nintendo wants you to buy the game for like 40$ and then the DLC is 5$ for the additional content. All in all, people will still be upset that we are not getting everything at once, but its in a fashion where Nintendo wants you to play the game first and then try out the additional stuff when you are ready and you know. If the game works out, I'm willing to pay 5-10$ for the additional content. Look at Awakening for example, the additional content was enjoyable (in my opinion) and it was affordable so Nintendo knows what to do with their stuff. Plus, there was free-DLC content given through just connecting to the Internet, so my hope is that they'll continue that tread where you get bonus stuff for just playing the game.

Nah April 6th, 2015 8:54 AM

Sounds to me like we're still getting 2 versions, just that only one is available on cartridge and the other is eShop only. And I doubt that it'd be only 5-10 dollars either; it's essentially half a game.

Have you guys seen the initial reactions towards SMT x FE? I'll just post a link here, since it's really vulgar for PC to allow.

It makes you wonder why the otaku culture gets a bad rep in western regions, which also resulted in hating Awakening.

I think it looks freaking awesome. Let the haters hate it. I couldn't care less to be honest. I'm still going to get the game, play the game and hopefully love the game. *Shrugs.*

SMT is an amazing franchise but the main series games didn't sell as well as the Persona spin offs did in the West. So yes, of course there's going to be a "Persona"-esque vibe to it.

People getting up in arms about it need to get their priorities straight and their heads checked. Imo.

I think there are too many butt-hurt people in the Great West. I mean seriously, they don't know when to shut up half the time. The game itself looks completely amazing and I'm going to get that game. Heck, when it was original announced (the project) I was excited, then this trailer and I was completely sold. It wasn't the setting I was expecting, but knowing it is coming from Atlus, I have a feeling its going to be very good. Play some of their other titles, they are normally very good.

Also on the subject we'll get if as "one version here and will have to buy the other as DLC", from that wording it sounds like we'll only get to choose one version and the only choices we'll be making is to buy dlc or to not buy dlc, hopefully this isn't the case as with Awakening's popularity we'll probably get Hoshido and have to buy Nohr as dlc, and I wanted Nohr for being more like the old FE games and it might now be behind a paywall... And I have no idea how the e-shop works.

So yeah, I've heard that FE is getting two versions of the game? Sweeet, I would totally buy both, coz love the Awakening-styled Hoshido version, and the very different Nohr styled gameplay :]

Which reminds me to finish Awakening already gdi

Gardevoir the Dragon Slayer April 16th, 2015 4:58 AM

EXP Grinding like with the risen appearing on previous levels on Awakening.

Cura April 16th, 2015 7:46 AM

What sorts of features do you want in Fire Emblem 14 / Fire Emblem if?

Every feature from Awakening and more really. Its just Awakening had a lot of polish done to it and I'd love to see these features return.

saifors April 16th, 2015 9:45 AM

What sorts of features do you want in Fire Emblem 14 / Fire Emblem if?
Big maps like in FE4 where you can have your entire army, it made fe4 feel like you really were in an all-out war.
Also magic triangle, I really don't understand why it was absent in Awakening.
The thing I want most is some actually well thought-out maps for strategy, instead of Awakening's "look how pretty all these maps are" and also harder difficulties that don't make you depend on RNG so much.
Con and weight as well.
Pretty much everything Awakening lacked.

Salzorrah April 17th, 2015 12:12 AM

I would personally would like all features in Awakening, including the children character system to be in it, but I doubt that would happen... Maybe in Hoshido?

I would expect Nohr's features would be 100% different from Hoshido's.

Pinkie-Dawn April 17th, 2015 6:42 AM

What sorts of features do you want in Fire Emblem 14 / Fire Emblem if?
Most of the features present from Awakening (support, pair-ups, overworld map grinding) plus a couple of new ones that will be present in If. If Nohr is going to be more like the older Fire Emblem games, can we at least get the Coliseums back for easy grinding?

In other news, there is going to be a Fire Emblem concert in July: http://www.fe25thevent.com/event/event2.html

Salzorrah April 17th, 2015 7:58 AM

I recall Nohr won't be having the World Map like Awakening and Sacred Stones did, while Hoshido will, so I doubt you can get some easy grinds by then... But Coliseums does seem a good alternative, I guess.

Euphoric April 19th, 2015 10:18 AM

I wasn't fond of pairing up and the whole children system - it made everything seem 100% more tedious than the games should've been. Idk about most people but I don't really care if someone does or does not have Galeforce.

That said, if I get one of them, it's probably going to be Nohr.

There are two kinds of people. People who care about Galeforce, and people who care about ships. I'm on the latter, and I just found the pairing system to be quite easy.

Arc April 19th, 2015 1:03 PM

Galeforce is just really high on the priority list for optimizing children, haha. It's not the definitive trait that leads to instant superiority. Donnel!Kjelle has Galeforce, but is still one of the lesser pairings because of Donnel's modifiers holding her back. Heck, most of the time, Nah doesn't even want Galeforce lol.

Triangle Attack, please! Totally situational, but I'm one of those crazy nuts that run three Pegasus Knights, so I'd like my free criticals.

Not to mention awkward to see the children units co-existing with their other selves on the current timeline once they're born. It's why I didn't marry Lucina despite being my secondary waifu.

And the grandchildren, uncle, aunts, grandparents thing too haha. Awakening, one of the only games where incestuous slurry of people is accepted, and not frowned upon lmao

Snow Phoenix April 19th, 2015 11:42 PM

What sorts of features do you want in Fire Emblem 14 / Fire Emblem if?

-Better final supports. My only problem with the marriages was that they were more quirky than particularly stellar and they usually fell flat. Some are decent, but I feel like they were lacking over all. I miss some of the classic relationships like Serra x Anyone, Nino x Jaffar, Gonzales x Lilina, Heather x Nephenee (never happened, but it would have been great).

-Further expansion of the skill system. I liked the skill system, but I still feel like there isn't enough skills to promote diversity. You usually see a lot of the same few skills reused over and over again. I also would like a removal of limit break ;x It's nice having an extra 10 points, but I hate how mandatory it then becomes to run it on every set.

Arc April 19th, 2015 11:43 PM

It's not just Awakening with incest in the series lol.

Well in FE4 Eltshan and Raquesis also had some hinting of incest through the villages

-All three routes to be in one game
-More types of magic, which has already been hinted at
-Finally allow healers to heal themselves, but I have a feeling they wont do anything about this
-Objectives that aren't just 'Rout the enemy/Defeat the boss'

Also today is Fire Emblem's 25th anniversary (and probably not so coincidentally Lucina's birthday) yaaaaaaaay

That would be cool, maybe you could have a choice of objectives and you pick one, and differemt ones influence a different way for the campaign to pan out.

Also I would like to see you being able to field generic units that are expendable and can be used as cannon fodder like you could with Taniths Reinforce ability in path of Radiance.

Salzorrah April 20th, 2015 2:37 PM

Omg I agree with the more magic types... Like I was disappointed that there were no light magic in Awakening, I do hope they would add this back in if.

I also agree with more objectives like get a certain item, and also more hold the fort kinds of objectives... Makes the game a little bit interesting :]

Just as long as they don't pull that time limit nonsense like they did with Roy's game.

Euphoric April 20th, 2015 7:53 PM

Better map design would be a plus. Awakening's maps looked cool but weren't very interesting strategically.

Idk about y'all but I'd love a Blazing Sword remake.
