Live shows

What is the best live show you've ever been to? Which band have you visited most? Which has your favourite stage performance? Or anything else that has to do with live shows is to be spoken about here.

When it comes to music, Racoon is just on point. I've been to three of their shows, and they play as tight as the studio recordings.

I have only been to one, and that was a matter of months ago -- The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die. some emo shit. it was absolutely INCREDIBLE, I met this guy from rateyourmusic there and he got me way up to the front and I moshed hard for the duration of the concert and I was screaming along the whole time. it was legendary. my friend who I went with got his shoelace ripped totally out of his shoe at one point, that was cool

still waiting for you to cycle to Boston (preferably in the rain) just for a gig

Chvrches were pretty incredible live; they really blew me away. Caribou and James Blake are up there also; all great acts to dance too.

Godflesh was my favourite; but they're my favourite band so obviously it's gonna be my top choice. I've seen them twice and both times were on point, really great band that any metalhead should give a listen to.

Eh, I don't know. I listened to Godflesh's latest album and found it incredibly repetitious and boring.

I really actually haven't gone to any live shows of big name bands, but I did see this local hardcore band called On One at my school once, they were really good. Unfortunately, they've kinda faded into obscurity, possibly due to a breakup. Sad really, they were the best act of the show. The others were a terrible nu-metal/deathcore band and a wimpy alt-rock band.

Yes now I think about it, I was wrong. If you're a metalhead don't bother listening to them.

I'm tossing it up between the Blondie/Pretenders concert a few years back and seeing Mariah Carey in November last year.

Blondie is without a doubt my favourite band, so it was great seeing Debbie Harry's old ass tearing it up along with Chrissie Hynde's equally old ass right next to her. It was a real closed, fiery atmosphere - a couple of hundred people, three hundred at most, packed into a hall and going hard to Rip Her to Shreds and the like. The energy there was simply primal.

On the other hand, Mariah Carey was everything I had ever hoped she would be. Intimate; outrageous; supreme diva; festive. While certainly never able to capture the glory of her youth, she hit all the notes (despite the videos I'm sure many of you have seen of her not being able to do so) and never missed a beat. She wasn't much of a dancer, but she didn't need to be. Strutting around the stage in gorgeous gowns and wine in hand was all that I wanted and all that I needed. I had, by the grace of God(riah), front row seats and thus I was able to bask in the glory of God and take it all in. God had also happened to bring her kids as well, Dem Babies. Naturally, like all the other 40 something mothers and hyperactive gays, I screamed and thought that Dem Babies were the most adorable beings I had ever seen in my life. She also talked shit about Eminem and made it clear that it was she who came out on top in that regard. All things considered, it was truly the perfect concert.

By my usage of Biblical terms, I guess I've made up my mind of who I enjoyed more.
