I have been running on 6 hours on two days straight with a bonus dose of stress so I'm kinda shit right now :D

Alexander Nicholi March 10th, 2015 11:10 AM

I slept quite a bit today... I was tired last night, don't remember when, and slept until... 8:30, I think? I seriously don't keep track of time anymore. I should.

Uuugh I did that this weekend and discovered that I'm much more sensitive to lack of sleep now than I was as a teenager :p I need my 8 hours.

Sylphiel March 10th, 2015 12:47 PM

I haven't even paid attention to how much I've slept within the past few days. I'd say it was "enough" but considering I went to bed late the other night, woke up early, had to crash again for a few hours after and was suddenly tired early in the evening...

Yeah I would say not!

Also I apparently have no patience with people whatsoever when I'm tired. Always fun to realize that.

it's even more fun when people give you grief over it, like it helps. it just makes you even more cranky. u_u;

honestly i've been sleeping better lately than i have for the past 5 years, being that it's easier for me to get up now and not quite as draining as it used to be. i tend to wake up constantly throughout the night everytime i go to sleep and usually feel the consequences... but for the past couple months i haven't been feeling those negative effects?

not really sure what changed, but i'm not complaining!

I tend to just sit there and simmer, so people usually don't notice it, plus it was over something else online and I'm usually quiet in that particular situation anyway so it's not like anybody would have noticed anything different. :P But yeah, that would be annoying. At those times I just want to leave everybody behind and just stew in peace. Give me my quiet and everything will be fine eventually.

Alfieri March 10th, 2015 1:50 PM

I'm just out of it when I'm tired. I'm only cranky when something pisses me off.

Alexander Nicholi March 10th, 2015 2:06 PM

Having a schedule is tough for me, unless my hand is forced or I'm getting something good in return for my change. A nice job, volunteer work, etc will have me up.

Actually, most of the money I'm making wakes me up at my house for service if I'm asleep. Knock on the door, I'm there. :P

My dad had one of those whenever I went to visit him!

Except I uh used it to make tea. Plenty of tea. I think it was some kind of pomegranate green tea. No coffee for me whatsoever. I don't think I can use caffeine as a pick me up anyway, it doesn't seem to affect me like that.

Sonata March 10th, 2015 2:46 PM

My creativity comes out when I get tired. And when I start lacking sleep the ideas just keep hitting me. It's like an automatic in my head. And it never stops.

I've had that happen so many times. X(

I'll be like okay yeah I'm tired I'll go to sleep. Nope I can't sleep because suddenly my mind is giving me all these ideas oh god no where's something I can write on ahhh. And even if I don't write anything down, I have to get back up and distract myself because my mind will just not shut up.

So aggravating!

Whoa what.

That's actually a thing? o.O

Mind blown. All I tried making with that one was hot tea!

Sonata March 10th, 2015 3:04 PM

The worst thing is when you get an idea and you're like "Oh damn that's the best idea I've ever had! Let me think about this for a minute, if..." And then it just leaves.

Alfieri March 10th, 2015 3:31 PM

I always write my ideas in my phone's memo pad app.

Tsutarja March 10th, 2015 4:03 PM

If I have an idea that I know I'm committed to, it just stays in my head forever. Very rarely do I use memos to memorize stuff. :P

in line with current discussion, yea memos are great for idea preservation. ill wake up from a great night of partying and see a couple notes of scattered thoughts, some pretty advanced, and usually really dark lol

I'm a lot more wired and logical about my activities than other people are, generally... and I guess I do have a creative knack. But it has to come from a certain place.

@Lady Gaga, that must have been an honor to sing with the Rolling Stones! In front of that many people as well!

I like their music, but I can't even imagine how different they sound today compared to the 60s/70s lmao

I dont know, I wouldn't say dark as in brooding and depressive, but dark more as in I kind of realize in those early hours of the morning how magnificent existence and the universe is, and how our part in it is at the same time essential and inconsequential.

& Tsutarja, it was the biggest honour of my life. I basically learned their entire discography leading up to the concert, and honestly, they sound the exact same. jagger still has the energy of a five year old. but keith's solos are definitely wiser as he has aged, if that makes any sense.

But not beers. Hm.

obZen March 10th, 2015 10:34 PM

I actually like the Staten Island "Dark and Mild" beer
Hurray for micro-breweries!

Sonata March 10th, 2015 10:38 PM

Beer is definitely not my drink of choice. Give me some vodka or jager and I'll be good.

Centipede Chan March 10th, 2015 10:41 PM

I can't stand any alcoholic beverages. They all taste like piss, or at least what I assume piss would taste like.

Winter March 11th, 2015 12:52 AM

It's oddly the smell that puts me off, rather than the taste. Then again, I wouldn't drink alcohol even if I was forced to...

Ice March 11th, 2015 12:54 AM

Beer is alright. Strong drinks burn through my throat, though. And most stronger things are just so sweet.

Sonata March 11th, 2015 1:14 AM

When I just think about the taste of alcohol I get sick, but actually drinking it is much different. Just the other day I was eating some salted caramel peanuts and all I could think about was the one time I was at my dad's bar and these two chicks kept buying me salted caramel shots. It made me want to throw up.

Nolafus March 11th, 2015 1:15 AM

I've never had alcohol before.

I'm boring, I know.

Lumina March 11th, 2015 1:43 AM

Alcohol is gross, just the smell makes me want to vomit.

moon March 11th, 2015 1:46 AM

I use alcohol to clean things and quench my reactions in the lab. Drinking it? I guess it's starting to lose its appeal for me. A beer or two is nice, but I have nightmares about getting too drunk these days.

If you're looking for something sweet-ish to drink, if you're going to drink something I would recommend Rum Chata. It's like horchata but with rum. It goes down really smooth and isn't totally fucking disgusting.

Legally getting smashed at 18 is much better then at 21. At 18 you're still stupid enough to not consider anything, so you learn how to drink properly at an earlier age. At 21 its just straight up a chore to learn how much you're body can take and what you like.

Shining Raichu March 11th, 2015 6:46 AM

They say "hey IBM, nobody's heard of you since the late 80s, can we have your photocopy machines and staff?"

Alexander Nicholi March 11th, 2015 7:05 AM

They're Lenovo, I guess.

I thought Lenovo was a brand of IBM, lmao

IBM financed the womb of the IT Industry, they were computers before the microprocessor and invested into the thing to make it happen on top of that... they played such a critical role in the advent of modern PCs. Kind of disheartening knowing they were acquired :/

Shining Raichu March 11th, 2015 7:47 AM

Welcome to the shiny side. We have app store.

I don't want a non-iPhone if I don't have to switch. I loved my iPhone 4 to bits (literally ;;) and I enjoy my iPhone 5s too, even if I thought the 4 looked better and was a better size for my tiny fingers 8)

Get an OtterBox, you wouldn't have to worry about a bent phone. I have the defender series. I think that's only the iPhone 6 Plus that bends. Not the regular 6. I love it and it's pretty fast, much faster than my two nephews, who both has an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5C.

You could. I accidentally didn't pay attention when I got a 16GB memory for my phone, but my phone is nearly full everyday with music AND TV shows. I have about 3 episodes of a TV show (Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Viking, etc so far I've been catching up on) downloaded and a bunch of music downloaded as well. It doesn't slow down or freeze up on me at all. Maybe because 4G?

Originally I was just going to take my 5th Gen iPod to work as well (it's 32GB memory) to watch TV shows on there but my phone has a bigger screen so I was just screw it, I can handle deleting & downloaded every couple of days or so.

That could work, if you are willing to carry two similar handheld devices at the same time everywhere lol

Aren't they making a Gen 6 iPod soon or is Gen 5 final?

I'm just sitting here wondering why on Earth people pay out the ass for iPhones when I have a $120 Samsung Galaxy Reverb that's done everything I need it to for two and a half years

Reading the convo here tells me the features you guys are paying for aren't really helping for your money. 4G is a data connection that you use when you're not connected to wi-fi, and unless you're downloading large data files (which you should be using ethernet for anyway) 3G works. An SD card is a great solution to a lack of phone storage, if your phone has a slot (it should). ;)

My phone doubled as a music player with a 16GB SD card holding all of my stuff. Never looking at space trouble, and definitely not looking at a beefier phone for that. XD

Speaking of which, I need to buy another one. I crushed my old one over something a month or two ago, didn't I?

3G is slow as knobs though. Impatient people like myself can't live without 4G.

That being said, I'm not replacing my 5S even when my contract allows me to get an upgrade. I see not reason to use it as even though it glitches from time to time, it's only a minor nuisance. I really see no reason for upgrading unless my phone gets run over by a lawn mower (which...I've done before lol.)
