haha yes, perfect!

Starry Windy May 29th, 2015 12:17 AM

18.

Oh my, perfecto!
Maybe Game Freak should consider to make this as Machamp's Mega Evolution. Or maybe they can use something better than that, if they wish.

Lycanthropy May 30th, 2015 2:43 AM

19

A Mega Machamp would get at least six arms probably.

Percy May 30th, 2015 4:17 AM

20.

Finally. :)

Starry Windy May 30th, 2015 7:40 AM

11

So, it's Machoke's next, eh? Let's see if it will make it to Saved list or not!

classiccartoonsftw May 30th, 2015 8:11 AM

12.

I'm going to save Machoke. I've already explained why I love the Machop line.

Sheep May 30th, 2015 4:15 PM

11

Machop's pretty cute but I'm not a fan of its evolutions.. imho they get weirder and weirder. But yeah, you know me, cute Pokemon fan and all. :D

Tsutarja May 30th, 2015 4:34 PM

12

I remember first seeing Machoke in the anime instead of the games o_O

Pendraflare May 30th, 2015 6:26 PM

11

I remember how Haydunn held a permanent grudge against Machoke in his Diamond Nuzlocke quite a few years ago after a trainer's killed his Prinplup. "Your Machoke ain't got shit, bro." Revenge killed it after it used Seismic Toss.

alisaie May 30th, 2015 6:29 PM

10.

My friend pretty much lost all of his team to a machamp in his nuzlocke. and he was so close to the elite four that he pretty much quit after. not machoke but close enough. :c

Death to ugly Fighting types

classiccartoonsftw May 31st, 2015 12:48 AM

10.

Machoke is one of the better looking Fighting types in my opinion. Same for the rest of the Machop line.

When I think of ugly Fighting types, the ones that come to mind are Emboar, Gurdurr, and Conkeldurr. Especially the last one.

Starry Windy May 31st, 2015 12:55 AM

11.

I think Conkeldurr was sort of weird, but it kinda works too because it has construction worker as its theme, meanwhile as for Machoke, it fits as WBA Champ of some sort.

classiccartoonsftw May 31st, 2015 12:57 AM

12.

Personally, I would've liked Conkeldurr more if it had a different nose.

Lycanthropy May 31st, 2015 1:44 AM

11

I find it weird how Machop gains teeth when evolving, but loses them when evolving again.

Winter May 31st, 2015 6:28 PM

10

Nope

Astinus June 1st, 2015 12:21 PM

9

Machoke? It ain't no joke.

It's also weird-looking.

Says the one that like the Timburr evolution line.

alisaie June 1st, 2015 12:52 PM

8.

When it comes to the Timburr line I at least like Timburr. Not so much its evolutions.

Winter June 1st, 2015 5:07 PM

7

I can at least bear Timburr's line and their looks.

Lycanthropy June 2nd, 2015 4:58 AM

6

I don't know, Timburr and relatives look weird always carrying that log or something, as if part of its body. Doesn't make much sense.

Winter June 4th, 2015 9:20 PM

5

It's one of the construction bar things. It matches them being construction workers.

alisaie June 17th, 2015 6:22 PM

4.

This Pokemon nearly killed this thread just meansit should go to shame. </3

Meadow June 17th, 2015 6:25 PM

3.

Woah, thanks for bumping this thread! I knew I was forgetting something... xD

Regarding the Timburr line, I think Timburr itself is cute, but its evolutions are... ehhhh.

Starry Windy June 17th, 2015 10:39 PM

2.

Hmm, I guess it depends on the people's opinions, right?

Meadow June 18th, 2015 7:43 AM

1.

Yep! Anyway, it looks like this thread is due for a new topic as well. What do you think about Super Mystery Dungeon so far?

Astinus June 18th, 2015 5:47 PM

0

Who were we voting on? http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-v.gif

Super Mystery Dungeon is making me wish that I was more of a fan of the dungeon-crawler games. It looks really good so far, like they're trying to fix the issues that people had with Gates to Infinity. I can't say all the issues that people had, because I'm not sure yet if they brought back the personality quiz.

Meadow June 18th, 2015 8:05 PM

11.

We were on Machoke, but it has officially been discarded! Now we'll be moving on to Machamp! I'm upvoting it simply because I made so many Photoshopped works for Squirrel involving Machamp, haha.

As for Super Mystery Dungeon, it is looking soooo much better than the title originally made it out to be. I think I'm really loving it so far! Whether or not the personality test is back, I'm just glad we have a wide selection of starters again. I hope the story will be meaningful as well, but I think I'll really enjoy the game regardless! :D

Starry Windy June 18th, 2015 11:32 PM

10.

Well, it seems that the personality test is officially back, and the results will affect the Pokémon that you'll playing as, according to several trailers. And I was excited about PMD that I played Explorers of Sky to kick the hype up. Oh, and I don't have Gates of Infinity yet.

Meadow June 19th, 2015 5:44 PM

11.

Ah, that's nice! ^^ I adore Explorers of Sky so much, and for so many reasons as well!

As for Super Mystery Dungeon, I'm looking forward to seeing how long the postgame will be. The first two installments gave us a lot to do after beating the game, so it would be nice if Super PMD did as well. (:

Starry Windy June 19th, 2015 8:37 PM

10.

Mmhm. And I think the post game in Gates of Infinity are not quite bad, as well, judging from one of the playthroughs that I watched somewhere. It's still a bit short, tho.

alisaie June 21st, 2015 9:12 AM

9.

I still need to finish my post game in GoI. I'm in the minority and actually liked the game, but idk I guess I just don't like being Oshawott haha. But I'll definitely get around to it because I would like to be myself (a Pikachu ♥ ) again.

Who's Kiyo? June 21st, 2015 10:26 AM

10 +

Personally, I feel kind of embarrassed I haven't played Mystery Dungeon since Red version. :X

blue June 21st, 2015 11:16 AM

11

I'm currently replaying Explorers of Sky, by far my favorite of the series.

alisaie June 21st, 2015 11:18 AM

10.

Sky is definitely better than GoI, but I don't hate the latter like most people do haha. Does remind me I should pick up Sky. I did the story again I think but not the post-game yet for that one either.

Meadow June 21st, 2015 11:26 AM

11.

The thing I adore most about the Explorers titles' postgame is that it's actually an entire second story, with the second antagonist being directly responsible for the first one's actions.

alisaie June 21st, 2015 11:40 AM

12.

yessss all the more reason why I should get around to completing it again! Its been much easier since one electric type and one water type is easier to do than a normal and a fire :b

classiccartoonsftw June 21st, 2015 12:06 PM

13.

If I had GtI, I'd choose Axew and Pikachu as my starters. However, I never bought it because of the immense lack of available Pokemon.

About starters, I hope I get Riolu, Pikachu, or a Water starter (that isn't Oshawott) as my starter in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.

blue June 21st, 2015 12:31 PM

14

Gtl was fun at the start, but it kind of lost me half way through for some reason. With Sky I was completely gripped with the storyline throughout, even the special episodes were fun to go through. I'm hoping Super Mystery Dungeon is a step up from Gtl, it has the personality quiz back which is a plus!

classiccartoonsftw June 21st, 2015 1:00 PM

15.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon has the potential to top GtI, with all Pokemon available and such. Hell, it might even surpass the first PMD games!

alisaie June 21st, 2015 1:28 PM

14.

It won't take that much to top GtI haha. The fact that it has a personality quiz and every Pokemon already pretty much beats it. Just needs a good storyline and bam.

Meadow June 21st, 2015 5:20 PM

15.

Do you think "Super Mystery Dungeon" will really be the finalized title of the game? I don't mind it or anything, but I do find it a tiny bit hard to believe. xD

alisaie June 21st, 2015 5:41 PM

14.

I do actually, considering that they've made the logo and I don't think they normally change it after the logo was made haha.

Meadow June 21st, 2015 5:47 PM

15.

Ah, that makes sense. I initially thought they would keep "Super Mystery Dungeon," but add a small punch-line after it (like Rescue Team, Explorers, Gates to Infinity, etc.), but I guess it's fine either way. xD

On the bright side, it keeps the theme of the game a surprise until we actually play it, haha.

blue June 22nd, 2015 9:24 AM

16.

The logo and box art seem to have a striking resemblance to the earlier games, prior to Gates to Infinity. But yeah the Super Mystery Dungeon is certainly a mystery right now. 8)

Sheep June 22nd, 2015 1:07 PM

15

The box art is really cute but it does make me think of Gates to Infinity almost immediately. Not that I mind though.. the game's looking to be awesome, especially since from the trailers we had increased text speed. The speed of the text was absolutely awful in GtI.

Tsutarja June 22nd, 2015 3:11 PM

14

Haven't played Mystery Dungeon in such a long time ;-; and all I have is Blue Rescue Team anyways

Starry Windy June 22nd, 2015 10:01 PM

13.

Oh, really? Red Rescue Team (which happens to be on GBA) is the first PMD that I ever played.

Meadow June 23rd, 2015 1:30 AM

14.

Same here! I always found it really cool how the Rescue Team games were released on two different systems, which broadens both the audience and the amount of options you have when playing them! :D

Sheep June 23rd, 2015 7:51 AM

13

I heard Sky was an amazing game. Everyone keeps saying so.. really gotta play it. GtI most certainly doesn't compare I'm assuming? xD

Meadow June 23rd, 2015 10:25 AM

14.

Yep, Sky was amazing! As for GtI, I heard the main problem was the lack of content (such as Pokémon, postgame, etc.), but at least the graphics and gameplay still seemed decent.

I can't wait to find out what kind of dungeons and missions we'll be seeing in Super Mystery Dungeon! I haven't been playing video games in a pretty long time, but this one will definitely make an exception! :D

alisaie June 23rd, 2015 5:45 PM

13.

Yeah I personally liked the story of GtI. Not as great as Sky's, but idk I'm in the minority haha.

But hnnng yeah. I hope Super Mystery Dungeon will be great. At least they aren't making the mistakes of only a few options for Pokemon to be and Pokemon to recruit this time around.

Meadow June 23rd, 2015 6:00 PM

14.

Does anyone think that Super Mystery Dungeon will have "New 3DS"-exclusive features? The New 3DS has things like stronger hardware and a second circle pad, so plenty of games have been incorporating those into bonus features that aren't available when playing on a normal 3DS.

Starry Windy June 23rd, 2015 6:43 PM

13.

Hmm... I'm not pretty sure about it. This makes me wondering, does Main Gen VI Pokémon games (XY and ORAS) lags when there are some big Pokémon around when using "New" 3DS?

blue June 24th, 2015 3:33 AM

14

That could be a possibility, though I think Super Mystery Dungeon will be mainly build for the original 3DS. It would be cool to see stuff like Amiibo support, but I think that will be held off until the next generation.

classiccartoonsftw June 24th, 2015 9:04 AM

15.

I don't feel like buying a New 3DS right now. I might buy one if my current 3DS stops working.

Meadow June 24th, 2015 9:09 AM

16.

I wonder what Game Freak is planning in regards to Amiibos. Maybe they'll purposely make certain Pokémon completely unobtainable unless you have an Amiibo, but I'm not too sure if that's a practical idea. I guess it's up to them to decide!

classiccartoonsftw June 24th, 2015 9:44 AM

17.

I personally hope they don't do that. I'd rather see Wonder Mail Pokemon returning. I mean Pokemon like Lapras and Aipom in Red Rescue Team, and Mantine and Porygon in Blue Rescue Team.

Astinus June 24th, 2015 12:39 PM

18

Still don't know who we're voting for but yaaaay~

Seriously. Next Pokemon, I'm editing the first post.

I also hope they don't make a lot of use of Pokemon Amiibos. Those are already difficult to find for regular Nintendo games. If there are Pokemon Amiibos, not only will those who collect Amiibos buy them, but also those who collect Pokemon merchandise.

Meadow June 24th, 2015 1:02 PM

19.

We're on Machamp right now, haha. (And I believe we'll be on Bellsprout if the next person happens to upvote Machamp.)

But anyway, if Game Freak does choose to incorporate Pokémon Amiibos, then I hope they'll at least incorporate them in an innovative way, rather than having them to essentially "buy" an unobtainable Pokémon.

Tsutarja June 24th, 2015 4:04 PM

18

Pokémon amiibos totally need to be a thing or else

alisaie June 24th, 2015 4:39 PM

17.

As long as they work like with smash or something I'd be okay with it.

casually stops being lazy and edit first post

Meadow June 24th, 2015 7:39 PM

18.

Haha, Smash. xD But it would be nice if the Pikachu Amiibo were compatible with both Smash and Pokémon haha.

So do you guys have any predictions regarding an X/Y sequel or a third version?

Starry Windy June 24th, 2015 11:21 PM

17.

I just hope Game Freak figures out what to do with Zygarde, because it's not heavily featured in the original X and Y. And speaking of figures, this reminds me of Pokémon Rumble U which happens to have some NFC Pokémon figures (at least, from what I see in some trailers). And it's released long before amiibo did!

blue June 25th, 2015 4:49 AM

18

I think there will be two games, either sequels or prequels to X & Y. The games will primarily take place in the Kalos Region, but will have connections to Hoenn and the characters from Hoenn (Archie, Maxie, Zinnia etc), perhaps we can even travel to Hoenn by some sort of transport.

After completing the Delta Episode, I definitely feel that X & Y and ORAS are connected in some way, especially the characters. It’s highly possible that in the next set of games we will see a new storyline that connects Kalos and Hoenn with them having so many similarities. There are many references and quotes in-game that have purposely been put in that could support extra content in Hoenn. We’ve got the ship being constructed in Slateport City that’s made to connect to Kalos, Battle Frontier, Match Call etc. Even in a recent interview, Junichi Masuda said he is always looking to surprise people.

classiccartoonsftw June 25th, 2015 9:14 AM

19.

For the third game, I'd like to see Game Freak make a final boss song that can top Zinnia's battle theme!

alisaie June 25th, 2015 10:26 AM

18.

I totally want what Blue said that would be amazing tbh

Astinus June 25th, 2015 1:37 PM

17

Now that I know who we're voting for, I can vote appropriately!

And yes to everything Blue suggested. I love seeing connections like that between regions because it shows that the Pokemon world isn't just going on one region at a time. Like just because the game takes place in Hoenn, that doesn't mean that there can be things going on in the other regions.

alisaie June 25th, 2015 4:24 PM

17.

Machamp is one of those I don't care for alas. :')

But yess I would love to see more things that show that things are happening in other regions. I know there was something like that at the beginning of RSE where it talks about something happen in Johto but it would be nice if we had more than just little things like that.

alisaie June 25th, 2015 6:35 PM

17.

Well that's not any fun

Good observation there, buddy! This made me realize how much I've been missing out since I haven't played OR/AS yet. xD

Meadow June 25th, 2015 7:18 PM

20. (Saved)

Maybe you can play them once 3DS and 2DS prices drop! Hopefully it'll happen soon since the "New 3DS" will eventually be stealing the show.

alisaie June 25th, 2015 7:49 PM

10.

Belllllsproouuuuut

i'll probably buy the new 3ds whenever there's a pokemon game that can only be played by that. usually why i get a new nintendo handheld anyways.

Starry Windy June 25th, 2015 9:56 PM

8

This makes me wondering if DSi is kinda pointless or not, since I think some of the features in Black and White (despite being playable at DS as well) takes advantage of the system.

blue June 26th, 2015 6:18 AM

9

The New 3DS actually seems like a worthy update, it offers more than just aesthetic changes.

alisaie June 26th, 2015 2:27 PM

9.

It allows some games to run much better, I believe, because it has more power. Smash on the normal 3DS actually reboots it if you've played it long enough while it doesn't do that on the n3DS so I've heard. Also with it's higher processing powers they were able to put games such as Xenoblade Chronicles on it which they wouldn't have been able to do with the old 3DS.

DSi you were still able to play all games on the DSLite and heck even the fat DS.

Meadow June 26th, 2015 2:33 PM

10.

Basically, yep. The New 3DS is probably the biggest upgrade for any Nintendo system that still shares the same name. I guess it's comparable to a 3.5DS, or something that's a borderline new system but only technically isn't.

(I'm glad we finally have that second circle pad, though!)

Astinus June 26th, 2015 2:35 PM

9

Then I might have to get a New 3DS. I can definitely tell that the old 3DS has issues keeping games running. There was some definite slow-down when I was playing OmegaRuby, and even just playing Luigi's Mansion is giving my system problems.

alisaie June 26th, 2015 6:59 PM

9.

Well it's already out. I'd imagine there would have been an uproar already if it didn't work as intended :b

Meadow June 26th, 2015 7:01 PM

9. (ninja'd)

Out of curiosity, what uses could the second circle pad have in a Pokémon game? It would be really interesting to speculate what we could do with it!

Starry Windy June 26th, 2015 7:44 PM

7

I think that feature might be decent. This is why sometimes I wish I can get New 3DS asap.
And I hope that the regular-sized New 3DS is released as well, because New 3DS XL is waaaaaay too expensive for me.

Sometimes I'm wondering if the Circle Pad can also be used to move the Pokémon while anybody was checking their stats, moves and all.

alisaie June 26th, 2015 8:07 PM

7.

I'll probably get it when there are more games I want and maybe if a pikachu version comes out or smth. although i did get my 3ds for $20 cheaper so i could get another game with it i kinda wish i had gotten the pikachu one lmao. oh well.

Lycanthropy June 27th, 2015 4:25 AM

7

As someone who has never owned any of the handheld Nintendo devices, I can't really say much on that topic, but I do think Bellsprout needs to be saved.

Tsutarja June 27th, 2015 11:57 AM

5

Nope, not fond of Bellsprout either. Although I will say it is quite cute. :3

alisaie June 27th, 2015 6:08 PM

6.

I like Bellsprout personally. Bellsprout ~

Astinus June 27th, 2015 7:06 PM

5

Bellsprout creeped me right out during that weird scene-transition in Pikachu's vacation. Imagine just sitting in a quiet theater and suddenly hearing "BELLSPROUT" as a psychedelic background is played on a giant screen.

It was like some sort of hypnotism to get you to join the cult of Bellsprout.

All. Hail. Bellsprout.

alisaie June 27th, 2015 7:44 PM

6.

I'd rather join Bellsprout than like.... Drowzee tbh

alisaie June 27th, 2015 11:47 PM

6.

i'm totally ok with that 'cause pika

Starry Windy June 27th, 2015 11:50 PM

5.

Maybe that's because of Pikachu's cuteness and all, that I like it.

alisaie June 28th, 2015 12:08 AM

6.

i like it for a lot of reasons. c: and everyone at work knows it because I have a pikadoll in my car and a pika lanyard lmao.

Lycanthropy June 28th, 2015 7:40 AM

7

I have a Pikachu shaped bottle, of which you have either twist its head of or put a straw through its head to drink out of it. It's not practical at all and I've never used it as a bottle, you can't even clean it properly afterwards. It stands on my closet for years now.

alisaie June 28th, 2015 11:14 AM

does not include: this pikachu i got at the last convention i went to, my pikachu lanyards, my pikachu shirts, pikachu belt, pikachu keychains, aand this pikachu on my dash in my car.

Tsutarja June 28th, 2015 1:05 PM

6

I have a Pokémon collection, but it's not all confined to an entire area of my room XD

alisaie June 28th, 2015 3:37 PM

7.

confined my whole room is my pokemon collection.

not including my blankets that are currently around the house somewhere

Meadow June 28th, 2015 6:04 PM

8.

I initially thought I had a lot of Pikachu merchandise as well, but my collection certainly pales in comparison to yours haha. xD

Tsutarja June 28th, 2015 6:12 PM

7

I have like six plushies (four sit on my bed) and so much more but at least I have Pokémon stuff all over my room :P

Meadow June 28th, 2015 6:15 PM

8.

I think I still have a really old Pikachu piggy bank, but its ear kinda broke off, eheheh.

Tsutarja June 28th, 2015 6:16 PM

7

I got one of those for Christmas last year. Surprisingly, my mother picked it up from Walmart.
