7.
Hmm, I think I have some miniatures of Pikachu and Oshawott (plus two Pokéballs). However, I'm still yet to buy the Victini plushy because it's so expensive. |
7.
I almost got a darkrai figurine yesterday because it came with a pikachu I don't have. Though in the end I didn't get it because I had already bought two Pokemon movies (Lucario and Manaphy) and a detective conan movie too so. I do have a poster of Ash above my bed, and then some huuge things on mydoor that have Ash, Cilan, and Iris. :') |
8.
When it comes to Ash's companions, my favourites are May and Dawn. |
7
Wow you guys are stuck on bell sprout haha i used to like it but now every time i see one its just annoying haah |
8.
I've grown to really like the Bellsprout line after playing so many GBC and GBA ROM hacks. They have Growth to set up, Sleep Powder to immobilize the foe to make setting up easier, and Vine Whip and later Razor Leaf for STAB. |
uh 9
I've used a Bellsprout exactly one time in Leaf Green (no pun intended), and it was pretty good until I boxed it for better things. It's very useful as an HM slave though, so I tend to use it a lot for that. |
9.
Well Grass-types are my favorite type, though I admittedly don't like Bellsprout at all... I'm just upvoting it for the heck of it. xD Out of curiosity, how do you guys feel about the HM system? |
9
I think HMs are pretty decent at some point. However, there's some issue because it can't be forgotten manually unless if it's in the hands of a Move Deleter. And speaking of which, I think my opinion on Bellsprout started to change after I played Rumble World lately. |
10.
I try to avoid having them on my team. Though in challenges I tends to use them more often because wlell... challenge. if that makes sense idk. |
10
Down with "down with Bellsprout"! Or, something like that. |
8
I always hated this thing. |
6
It's dumb. I hate it because... because i don't know |
4.
Weak and useless in battle. |
2
Yeah, but in the games... |
2 - Lololo!
About the HM system: it's annoying, but I think it should be. It means you actually got to do something to pick up items along the road. |
3 - I'll save you yet, Bellsprout! >:D
The only really annoying part about HMs is the fact that you have to carry around an HM slave if you don't want your team to have a bunch of horrible moves. |
4
Yeah, if Cut was replaced by Slash for example, that's a decent move. Brick Break could easily function as Rock Smash. |
5
This bellsprout really needs to die haha |
6.
Poor bellsprout such hate :'( |
6.
nah. |
6.
as long as my favorites don't end up being banished or whatever. i'm too lazy to go to the first post to look up the proper term. |

I think that's something that should be introduced in the next gen. |
7.
It's a staple though, so we'll see if they're willing to let go of it in the future. At least TMs are unlimited use now. |
8.
If they can change the mechanics of TMs being unlimited use, then I'm sure they could do the same to make HMs forgettable. |
8.
I would honestly dislike TMs as a limited resource unless I could buy or earn every single TM as many times as I'd like. If there was a finite amount of each TM, then it would be a huge hindrance to both competitive players and casual players alike. |
6. Bellsprout is a capitalist plot to waste everyone's time.
As for TMs, from a gameplay perspective, it makes it easier but makes less sense. Why would a corporation change a device from being one-use to multi-use? They can then only sell it once per consumer as opposed to many times to a single consumer for more profit. Then again, with the proliferation of competitive gaming nowadays, it's pretty much necessary to ensure that particular team sets can be made, so a willing suspension of disbelief makes everything ok. Not to mention the fact that business sense in the Pokemon world is nonexistent anyway. You beat me, have half of my life savings! Oh, you have a shiny coin? ALL of the life savings! |
4
Except you couldn't make it up to 1,000,000 Pokémon dollars :P |
2
lmao you're over-thinking the situation. im pretty sure red is the only one who even gets a bike at that shop d: |
3.
Unlimited TMs I feel is more the competitive players than anything. Like what shark said, Limited TMs likely caused a lot of people who played competitive have to replay a game over and over or gameshark to get TMs they want for their competitive team. Because you don't just make one team and you're done. :U |
1
I thought the count could go either way, dude? |
0. HA. VICTORY FOR THE PEOPLE.
Free healthcare? Did someone mention THE NHS!? I'm aware it's paid for through tax, of course. Which brings up the question; does taxation exist in the Pokemon world? Is that how we get access to free healthcare? Maybe the Pokemart/Pokemon Centre system is actually all part of a centralised and self-sustaining planned economy, created to sustain a bread-and-circuses style system for the masses to distract people from the woefully inefficient law enforcement and apparent lack of democracy. In turn, maybe this is why you always have to stop the villainous team in Pokemon games: You aren't benefiting from a benevolent system, but you're simply the cog that keeps the gears of mass corruption spinning. And that is a conspiracy theory to be proud of. |
1
Well dayum, that's quite the theory there |
9
So am I doing this right by going onto Weepinbell? |
8
I believe so, yes. |
6
There's something strangely enjoyable about killing off the Bellsprout line. I need to think of some sort of pun to mark the next success. |
4
Weepinbell is okay but it's just never personally appealed to me |
2
Bellsprout died, so must Weepinbell! |
3
I like Weepinbell, and the whole Bellsprout line tbh. |
3
Trying to prolong it so I can be the one to finish it off. |
2
Never been a fan of the Bellsprout line. |
1
Aw can we just move on from the Bellsprout line yet? :P |
0
Die Weepinbell! |
9
Yo Victreebel, let's keep this going. |
8
Die, Venus ****trap! |
7
Curse you, Victreebel! You made Erika's fight somewhat hard! |
5.
Time to bring up a topic again: Which Pokémon have your favorite and/or least favorite shiny colors, and why? |
5.
I'm not really into shiny Pokemon either. I do, however, like shiny Diggersby more than regular Diggersby. |
6
Not this time, let's save atleast one of them. D: As for my favourite shiny... http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_shiny/334.gif |
6.
If you ask me, Victreebel isn't disgraceful. |
6.
I prefer the games over the anime. And in the games, Victreebel is actually strong. So I'm still voting it up. |
7
My favorite shinies: http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated-shiny/184.gifhttp://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen6/xy-animated-shiny/186.gif Politoed just because it's colors fit to the others of its evolutionary family now. But I must say shiny Altaria looks great too. Least favorite is Garchomp, I think we all know why. Quote:
I agree I'd be happy if the number of TM use isn't finite, but I see the best solution single use TMs you can buy in the shop for a fair price. |
7.
I'm glad with re-usable TM's. It makes things easier for both casual and competitive players. |
6.
I think re-useable TMs are convenient more than anything. |
7.
I couldn't agree more. Some of my favourite Pokemon are better with TM's than without. These favourites include Gengar, Starmie, and Rhydon. |
8.
People who would use their TMs like that for the league are dumb. </3 I mean..... Though idk I think you just have an option of what you can do. You can not use TMs at all, give yourself arule to only use one once, etc etc. The games are nice and diverse that way. as for favorite shinies Shiny Furret, Shiny Dunsparce, and Shiny azumarill will have to be among my top three. Followed by plenty of others I'm sure. Least favorite is Shiny Garchomp. :b |
9.
Hmm, you do bring up a good point about self-restriction. It has never crossed my mind until now, but it is indeed a great way to challenge yourself. |
10
Something that I'd like to see back is the difficulty keys from B2W2, those games on challenge mode actually felt like a real challenge from time to time. It would have been perfect for X and Y. |
11.
Oh, yeah! I forgot those existed, haha. I'm not exactly sure how hard challenge mode was, but I'm pretty sure I've only completed the default difficulty. xD |
12
Challenge mode basically increased the levels by a small amount, but also added Pokémon and items to some teams. Like I say it really was much more of a challenge. n_n |
13.
Ah, in that case, I do wish that it were in X/Y as well! I felt that the Kalos Elite Four could've been more fun to battle if they had full teams, but oh well. |
12
I think my Black 2 game is on Challenge mode now? Too bad I can't go back to confirm because all of my Gen 5 Pokémon are in AS right now :x |
13.
I'd have to get another copy before I could play challenge mode or something because I don't want to restart my white 2? I can't be assed to remember how itworks rn. not that itmatters since I don't plan on it anytime soon anyways. i can always look it up when i am. |
14
One thing I sure loved Challenge Mode for was buffing up the Champion fight against Iris. That Outrage Haxorus, dear goodness... And the rest of her team getting 100-120 and even 150 power STAB attacks, too. |
15
Even outside of Challenge Mode, her Haxorus is still tough. Blame it all on the fact she was smart enough to actually stick a Focus Sash on it so that you'd have to do repeated hits to take it out. |
16.
About Iris, I loved her battle theme. However, I don't think it can top the champion's battle theme in FR/LG, or Zinnia's battle theme in OR/AS. |
17
Iris' Champion theme was something unique, to be be considered. |
18.
Personally, I like Iris' battle theme far more than Alder's battle theme. |
19
I think all Champions have great battle themes. |
20.
Alder's battle theme is probably my least favourite champion battle theme. |
21
Cynthia's theme is my favourite, especially some of the remixes in SSB and later games. |
10.
Victreebel is safe now. That means Tentacool is next. |
11.
Tentacool is er..... cool..... lmfao updated the first post btw |
12.
I used to like to see Tentacool when surfing in the sea of Hoenn for some reason. I'm wondering if its design has to do with that. |
13
Tentacool is alright, but it can be a pain when surfing long distances. |
14
Tentacool is actually pretty decent despite how common it is. |
13
No. You are not saving two terrible Pokemon in a row. |
12.
I dunno why, but Tentacool puts me in a bad mood when I forget my repels... xD |
13
No Tentacool really is cool its even in the name see |
12
Thanks to one of Alli's blogs, I was reminded of a NPC who had a Tentacool nicknamed "ACOOLTENT" and it makes me laugh. |
11
I was annoyed by it back when I played Emerald. |
11
Poor Tentacool isn't getting any love |
11
I actually do like Tentacool. Fairly strong yet can take special hits pretty well. |
9
What's the point of the game if every Pokemon gets on the saved list easily? Let's keep things interesting by randomly voting down Pokemon! Especially ones like Tentacool. |
10
I don't think people are realizing Tentacool's often untapped potential. |
8
Tentacool takes too long to raise anyway. Now Tentacruel I can get behind. |
7.
I can't wait for September! The Super Mystery Dungeon hype is too real! |
7
Sadly the Europeans and likely my region as well have to wait for next year, which is still too far away right now. |
8
I'd like to start a campaign to save Tentacool (and every other cool poison type) |
8
I'm only starting to learn how good some Poison-types are. |
8
But Tentacool is a classic Pokemon with a fantastic typing and a lot of potential! And it has a pretty awesome design as well. |
9
I'm interested in Super Mystery Dungeon, though the name's a little uninspired. Still, more options and potential mega evolution already sounds a lot more interesting than how much of a snoozefest the last 3D MD was. |
10
I don't understand why everyone hated Gates To Infinity so much |
11
I haven't played any PMD since... I think the second installment of the series. |
10
I think people's main issue with GTI was the lack of a personality quiz, a short list of starters to choose from, and the lack of visibility while in a dungeon. I can't really speak much about the storyline's issues, because I did think the story of the game got more interesting the further along the player got. I'm sure Revise can give some better explanation. Especially since I haven't played PMD since Time/Darkness. It's just not a genre of games I can get into. Which is a shame, because I love the storylines. |
11.
I don't think Gates to Infinity was "hated," per se, but more like it kinda left much to be desired. The game lacked the large amount of content that the previous games possessed, with the giant reduction in Pokémon availability hurting it the most. And as if that wasn't enough, the large cut in starter choices basically rubbed salt on the wound. As for the story, it wasn't "bad," but it just didn't live up to the Explorers titles (which is understandable because that would be really hard to accomplish). |
12
I think I actually enjoyed the few PMD games I did play. I just fell out of playing video games in general a while ago and have only played the main installments. I may pick up the new one coming out but I may be too busy to play in September. |
13.
I haven't really been playing video games myself lately, though I'll try to make an exception with Super Mystery Dungeon! It just looks far too promising to pass up. |
14
I honestly haven't even been keeping up with Pokemon-related news recently :| I seem to be falling out of my complete obsession with the franchise, but I think I'll at least be sure to play each main game once. |
15.
I'm more into the anime than anything these days tbh |
