The Tirtouga/Carracosta line will always be my favorite fossil! They're super-cute turtles, plus they're awesome and fun to use! After that, Cranidos comes in second place for the reasons I mentioned a few posts ago. (Although I admittedly forgot that Tirtouga was a Rock-type when I made that post... go me! xD) |
15
Now you mention it, there exist a lot of turtles in the Pokémon world, Tirtouga, Squirtle, Golem, Turtwig, Shuckle, Torkoal and possibly some others I forgot to mention. |

They have a turtleish shell and can retract their heads and limbs, so seems pretty turtle to me. I think Squirtle's family might even be the one I like the least of them, which is a bit odd, because starters are quite loved in general. |
16
Turtles are incredibly popular, two of them are even starters! |
17.
Turtles are great ♥ I don't think there is a turtle pokemon that I don't like. |
16
Tirtouga was a really awesome one, I always loved how Marriland calls it a "derpy turtle". Aquilavus from his Black Wedlocke made me love it even more, and I remember feeling sad when he died to a trainer's Accelgor on Route 10. Damn 4x Grass weakness getting the better of him. |
17
Quadruple weaknesses are often instantly fatal. Something that's just as annoying is when the opponent can do a super effective draining move. My mono-ice team couldn't do a thing against a Drain Punch Pangoro. |
18.
At those times, you'd wish for Ice/Poison, Ice/Bug, and good Ice/Flying Pokemon. |
17
Yeah, 4x weaknesses suck, especially when doing monotypes because that usually means the rest of your team probably isn't very good at countering whatever type it you're going up against either. |
16
I mostly try to avoid 4x weaknesses, however there are some with designs so awesome I couldn't say no to using them. |
17
I think some Pokémon are quite solid despite having a single 4x weakness. Usually they're quite bulky or strong if other types deal with them, which makes these Pokémon sort of like All-or-nothing types. Scizor and Heracross are one of the prime examples of that. |
16
As shown with the likes of Heracross and Scizor there, a 4x weakness doesn't stop some of the best competitive Pokemon around. |
17
I remember using Leavanny in Black 2 and it became one of my favourites to use. Initially I was put off by the double x4 weakness, but aside that it helped out in so many tough battles. |
18
I've always loved Magnemite, despite its ×4 weakness to ground. Its electric and steel type attacks can't hit ground Pokémon well, so there's no reason to use it against ground types. I don't think I've ever played without water type Pokémon on my main team because of Surf (aside solo challenges), so that's covered. |
16
I am absolutely not sure. |

It's slower than Golem and I doubt its 55 base defense can resist a STAB super effective Stone Edge. Even if, Golem's Sturdy prevents it to be KO'd instantly. |
16
Are you talking about this game's list? Well, according to the OP, he did make it, sorry to disappoint. |
17
The current Pokemon is Geodude.... right? WHOOPS, it was Golem. Still voting up, though. Not a bad Pokemon. And that's really up to everyone else. Just hope that everyone likes or dislikes Paras as much as you do. |
15
Keep this number going down yo |
14
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Golem. I think that a cooler Pokemon could've been created to be Geodude's final evolution. |
13
I don't know why I upvoted, but yeah I've never really been a fan of Golem. |
12
Golem used to scare me as a kid :( |
11
Really? I think Golem was quite good. The issue is that you can't get this dude straight away, except on somewhere in Pokémon Emerald, iirc. If not, you have to trade for it (which is no good for me back then) |
12
I'm surprised to see that people don't like a rock turtle thingy. |
13
Me too, it's the standard rock type Pokémon and one of the rare rock type Pokémon I like enough to be saved. |
12
Keep the down-counting going so we can move on. |
11
Well... I have mixed feelings about this particular Pokémon. |
9
I mean, Golem's all right and all, but it isn't really anything special. Its design is too spherical for me, and its head seems to be really low on its body.. |
9
Rocket launchers? Wouldn't that make it just a rock type Blastoise? |
10.
Haha yeah, I think it would. But. But guys. Remember the flaming Golem because of Charmander in the anime? :') |
9
1st Gen was weird. Never forget Pikachu turning the sprinklers on against Brock solely due to the fact he was struggling. |
10.
I love how that is normally the first example people bring up. no i don't |
9
This reminds me... iirc, Gym matches in Kanto region started to feel like one after Ash gained some of the badges. Not that it's not enjoyable to watch like the series that come after. I dunno if I enjoyed it more if Gym matches is filled with funny moments or serious moments. |
8
I wonder how much ire I'll draw from Ash if I mention another famous Kanto Gym battle quote: "AIM FOR THE HORN!" |
7
Gotta get down... Golem is gonna go down |
8
And he's going up too! This is taking so long... |
7
I don't know.. is Golem taking as long as Geodude? |
8
Geodude only took nine days and 62 posts. We're on Golem for twelve days now and 61 posts, Golem breaks the record! |
7
Dang, I didn't realize we've been on Golem so long. |
6
It shows just how much can love and hate Golem at the same time! |
5
Golem is going down! I don't like him ... It's a fake turtle! It's just a rock sphere with one head, 2 arms and 2 legs! And I don't appreciate Rock-type pokémon to much. It's rare to see one in my party! |
6
I'm still trying to save the Pokémon, even when it seems terribly futile. |
5
When are we going to get to Ponyta? http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/negativeman-55f.png |
6.
Wow, all these years I never knew that Ponyta was the Pokémon after Golem. Good job, me! :D |
7.
Idk, I like Golem. Geodude and Graveler were meh, but Golem looked cool. |
6
Ponyta, we're almost there just hang in there lil bud |
5
Keep going down and you'll get there |
6
Hey look, I'm posting the number 6 again, no advance over the last few posts. |
5
We are coming for you Ponyta! |
4
Three more to go before you get there! |
3
Damn we're still on Golem?! |
2
Not for much longer, we're finally about to kill it! |
3
Let me ruin the fun for a bit. |
3
Let me ruin the fun for a bit. |
2
Golem has held on for a surprisingly long time.. |
2
Golem is just refusing to be taken down.. |
1
Yes it has, because it has both its lovers and haters. |
0
...and Golem has been discarded so now we can move on to Ponyta! |
FINALLY
11 I like Ponyta's shiny colors a lot. |
12
Oh yeah, bye-bye golem! Welcome ponyta! I really like ponyta, as much as I like horses! And I used one on my Sinnoh journey! |
13
I'll be counting up for this one, and while it's not the best Fire Pokemon out there it is at least still an iconic member of the Original 151. |
14.
Ponyta may be on the generic side, but at least it's quite cute! Also, R.I.P Golem. :( |
15
SHINY PONYTA. <3 I like Ponyta, cute and its shiny is blue. Also, her evolved form Rapidash because I dreamed of having when I was a wee little gurl. Just Kidding. |
16
I would one day want a shiny Ponyta. The blue flames make me love it more, especially in Diamond & Pearl... aka the game where your only non-starter Fire-type option is literally Ponyta. |
17
I really like the color blue, it made Ponyta much more cuter and I spent hours trying to catch a shiny one just for that. XD |
18
Save the Pony-tas! |
19
Ponyta is not bad, so eh, why not. |
19
Ponyta is not bad, so eh, why not. |
20
Hey hey, ponyta reached 20 "points" And the next pokémon is ..... |
11
Rapidash! |
12.
I think Rapidash is pretty cool! Especially its name :) |
13
I recall my first use of a Rapidash when I played Pearl, and that was before Chimchar became my go-to Sinnoh starter. Rapidash has been outclassed by loads of other Fire-types lately so it was no surprise. |
14
HORSIE! not the water pokemon Shiny Rapidash here I comeeee! |
14
HORSIE! not the water pokemon Shiny Rapidash here I comeeee! |
15
Not the best fire Pokémon out there, but unicorns are always awesome. |
16
Yeah, you could say unicorns are great... aside from young girls being naturally in love with them. |
17
Haha, I completely missed out on Ponyta it went by so fast. Rapidash is just as iconic though; I have unfortunately not used one yet though.. |
17
Haha, I completely missed out on Ponyta it went by so fast. Rapidash is just as iconic though; I have unfortunately not used one yet though.. |
18
come on guys, this should be a landslide win |
19
Because it's almost there! And I do quite like Rapidash. |
20.
Done! Next up is Slowpoke! And just to throw in a topic, how did you guys feel about the Apricorn system in Johto? I personally loved it, because it promoted so much diversity in terms of Poké Ball designs. :) |
11
Slooooowpoooookeeeeee. I really thought apricorn are food- who knew they could be made into different kinds of pokeballs? I like Blue Apricorn, the Lure Ball apperance-wise, for uses, my vote would be Green Apricorn, the Friend Ball! |
12
Slowpoke is just the cutest :3 And yeah, Apricorn collecting was fun but it did get annoying that the Poke Balls made out of it were exclusive only to Johto games. |
13
SAVE THE SLOWPOKE TAILS. rip apricorn. |
14
Apricorns are interesting, they show a piece of history of the Pokéballs. I can't say I picked them a lot, because that required a lot of travelling every day, while I still prefer the use of regular Pokéballs, but I picked them every time I passed them. |
15
I do pick them again when I return to a place where the apricorn presides! Other than that, I drift off. |
15
I do pick them again when I return to a place where the apricorn presides! Other than that, I drift off. |
16
If you like to participate in the Pokeathlon, Apricorns are essential to bringing out their true performance potential. Just remember each Pokemon are mostly tailored to a specific course. |
17
Ah, I miss the Pokeathlon. I had so much fun playing with friends in HG/SS. Using the Apriblender to get the right stats was really difficult to master though. |
18
The only course I was good at was Stamina, and that was due to a very impressive Miltank I had that seemed to have a ton of strength to her. She was also my star against Lance, in that she did Attract hax to beat his Dragonite trio and her good Defense stat held her up as well. |
19
Competitive battles? I'm bad at that, I'm bad at everything that is competitive battles, lol. I am the noobiest of noobs. XD |
20
Let's say I am terrible at competitive, mainly because I get outpredicted. Anyways, next Pokemon now! |
11.
I wasn't exactly a big fan of the Pokéathlon at first, but then after forcing myself to try it, I eventually got addicted and now I absolutely love it, haha. But regarding competitive play, prediction is also my biggest problem as well... :( |
12
(We're on Slowbro now, for reference :P) I find competitive battles a ton of fun. The strategy and planning involved is fun, and I enjoy training up competitive teams. Sadly though I'm not that good at it (prediction hnng). |
13
You have to admit we got through Slowpoke quickly, given no-one was counting down. I do love that evolution line, and Mega Slowbro is adorable and a hard-hitting tank. |
14
I adore Slowbro tbh. Mega Slowbro is extremely fun to use and never dies it seems |
15
It is near-unstoppable all while looking cute at the same time. |
16
SLOWBROOOO~ I do admit that I laughed at it's Mega Form and then predictably, I love it! It's really, really silly at the same time, cute! maybe im biased |
17
I still miss my Alpha Sapphire save file... I had so much fun with Mega Slowbro there. |
