There is that too, but I was also wondering if there was a maximum game size for eShop titles. Like, normal 3DS games are about 2-4 GB or so, but I'd imagine eShop games to be a lot smaller.

Squirrel April 5th, 2015 8:02 AM

16

Oh that's a good point actually, I hadn't thought of that. I feel like the way they're planning to do it is to make DLC over time where they add new maps etc, but I do wonder about the size restrictions... I really hope that doesn't become a problem :(

Squirrel Nidoqueen is pretty awesome lol
Although i love Nidoking as well! Haah

Meadow April 5th, 2015 2:03 PM

Has anyone here played Pokémon Pinball before? It's really fun, and I sure hope it gets a new installment on the 3DS!

blue April 5th, 2015 3:07 PM

19

I played the original Pinball years ago and found it soooo addictive, a really fun spin-off game! I'm pretty sure they re-released the Ruby & Sapphire Pinball game in the eShop quite recently?

Meadow April 5th, 2015 3:10 PM

20.

They did? Sweet, I would love to play Pinball R/S on my 3DS, even if it's a bit outdated. Heck, it should be a fresh experience again since I haven't played it in years, so that's something to look forward to.

blue April 5th, 2015 3:13 PM

11 - Nidoran [M] I think it is.

I never tried the RS Pinball version, so I'll have to try it out sometime!

Meadow April 5th, 2015 3:15 PM

12.

Ohoho, if you thought the original was addicting, then R/S won't disappoint you haha. (I'd say it was about three times as addicting as the original installment, so I'd definitely recommend it!)

deerui April 5th, 2015 3:24 PM

11

Spoiler:
this is Raichu, correct?

EDIT: sorry, I didn't realize it was nidoran ; u ;;

Meadow April 5th, 2015 3:28 PM

12.

It's fine, the front page hasn't been updated yet, haha. xD

Sheep April 5th, 2015 3:41 PM

13

Nidoran is so cute.

Pokemon Pinball.. never played that. But TCG for the GBC and Puzzle League are amazing.

Astinus April 5th, 2015 4:00 PM

14

The male Nidoran line is just one of my favorite Pokemon evolution families ever. Little Nidoran with his giant ears is so adorable, but he's so vicious.

I played both Pinball games. They're great fun while being challenging enough that it's never boring.

Dedenne1 April 5th, 2015 7:29 PM

15

I personally like the male line better ;)

Lycanthropy April 6th, 2015 2:20 AM

16

I haven't played the original Pinball much, it was a little annoying that the screen flipped to the complete upper half when the ball left the lower half or the other way around. In the RS Pinball the screen moves slightly upwards in this situation. And yes, I agree on how addicting it was. Did anyone actually come far in this game? I recall myself capturing Groudon and Kyogre but never Rayquaza, Latios, Latias or any of the Regis.

classiccartoonsftw April 6th, 2015 2:31 AM

17.

I've played the original Pokemon Pinball in my younger years. It was pretty fun.

Winter April 6th, 2015 3:45 AM

18.

I've only played it once. I forgot the experience.. ;;

blue April 6th, 2015 4:39 AM

The original pinball was really fun, I remember sinking hours into that game.

Lycanthropy April 6th, 2015 6:05 AM

20 - SAVED

But Nidoran♂is being put in the Box of Shame in The Great Pokémon Battle, we should rescue him there too.
Now on to Nidorino!

classiccartoonsftw April 6th, 2015 6:09 AM

11.

I prefer Nidorino and Nidorina over their prevolutions.

Winter April 6th, 2015 6:54 AM

12

I find Nidorino's design a bit weird though.

Lycanthropy April 6th, 2015 6:59 AM

13

Comparing Nidorino and Nidorina, one can notice Nidorino is a real quadruped Pokémon, while Nidorina tends to walk on her back legs. I wonder why they did this.

Given how dedicated (and addicted) I was to that game, I think I recall completing it 100%, if not very close to it. If I played it again today, I probably wouldn't be nearly as good as I used to, haha.

I like Nidorino over Nidorina though :D

Astinus April 6th, 2015 1:47 PM

~yay Nidorino~

I never got far in any of the Pinball games. The two puzzle games were the ones that I played more often.

blue April 6th, 2015 2:14 PM

17

I used to spend a lot of time playing the TCG for Gameboy Colour too, that was a fun game. I never actually got into the actual playing of the cards though.

Squirrel April 6th, 2015 2:47 PM

Omg you guys save all the worst stuff, who even likes these silly Nidoran families :(

Meadow April 6th, 2015 3:33 PM

Sooo... by worst stuff, you mean anything that isn't a cocoon? (lol)

Pendraflare April 6th, 2015 4:35 PM

18

But I like the Nidoran lines.

Meadow April 6th, 2015 4:44 PM

I honestly don't see a problem with them. Anyways, here's a new video tour of Pokémon Rumble World to keep you guys busy:

Thoughts?

Squirrel you let that Pikachu be saved lol
Nidorino is good though Nidoking is up next!

Cayo April 6th, 2015 7:57 PM

I just want to get tothe fun pokemon like Mew. I don't care much for the Nido line.

Lycanthropy April 7th, 2015 3:28 AM

That Rumble game looks completely different from normal Pokémon games, a bit a Mystery Dungeon game without grid, actually.

Nidoking is one of my favorite Pokemon, so excuse you, Squirrel I LIKE IT.

I might just download Rumble World just so I can have another simple time-waster on my 3DS. That was the entire reason I downloaded Shuffle.

Are they going to do anything with those weird figurines they had for the WiiU Rumble game?

Wait, you mean the Amiibos? Those things have the most unorthodox uses I've ever seen. In the Smash Bros. series, for example, Amiibos can be used to serve as AIs with the capacity to learn. An AI that can learn things is nothing to be taken lightly, so who knows what kind of potential the Rumble U ones will have.

My heart bleeds for you ;)

What are these figurines people are talking about? :o Do you mean like the Skylanders ones where you buy a toy and scan it into the game or something? (I never had them so not sure how they work...!)

Meadow April 7th, 2015 12:13 PM

13.

I think those are the ones, haha. I haven't used them before either, so I'm not exactly sure how they work. However, the story below is so intriguing that you'll probably never underestimate them again:

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/11/26/story-fox-amiibo-nearly-won-super-smash-bros-tournament/?onswipe_redirect=no&oswrr=1

Astinus April 7th, 2015 12:14 PM

14

These figures. I really don't know much about them, other than what I briefly saw in a video that someone did on Youtube. They work in the same manner as the Amiibos or the Skylanders (I've only used the Skylanders figures, but they all have the same style of use.)

Meadow April 7th, 2015 12:15 PM

15.

Oh, looks like they aren't Amiibos. I've honestly never seen those before, so I wouldn't know what they're capable of, haha.

Squirrel April 7th, 2015 12:17 PM

14

Interesting, but seems like a lot of effort for a free to download game... I do hope this doesn't imply they're planning to use these models as ways of buying new Pokémon to play as :S

Dedenne1 April 7th, 2015 4:50 PM

15
It is possible you guys save the worst pokes since you saved Pikachu lol

Astinus April 7th, 2015 5:40 PM

16

I always seem to like the Pokemon everyone else doesn't.

Bringing in support for those Rumble U statues is a lot of effort for a f2p game. But it was just weird that they only have support for that one game when things like the Amiibos and Skylanders have multi-game use.

Pendraflare April 7th, 2015 6:22 PM

15

I haven't really gotten a chance to use Amiibos, but that's because I don't have a Wii U or New 3DS.

Starry Windy April 8th, 2015 1:00 AM

16

I'm not sure about using Amiibos as well, because my 3DS just won't compatible with it. And sometimes I'm not sure how will Game Freak handle Pokémon amiibos, there are more than 700 Pokémon rn.

classiccartoonsftw April 8th, 2015 1:01 AM

I'm going to download Pokemon Rumble World now.

Lycanthropy April 8th, 2015 6:58 AM

I'm not really a fan of those free games, in which you have to buy in game things later on. I don't know how well you can manage it without in this game, but some games really move on very slowly if you don't spend real money.

moon April 8th, 2015 7:42 AM

Nidoking? Sure, it can live :3

classiccartoonsftw April 8th, 2015 7:44 AM

Clefairy: 9

Let's bring in a new topic: How do you feel when playing a game for a second (or more) time? Do you play it differently?

Hyzenthlay April 8th, 2015 9:34 AM

Clefairy: 10

How do you feel when playing a game for a second (or more) time? Do you play it differently?
I don't often play games for a second time, unless they have a lot of replay value. But yeah, I'll generally go the opposite path if I start anew (unless it's Final Fantasy VII, then I'll always choose Tifa <3).

blue April 8th, 2015 11:05 AM

9

Only some of the games have good replay value for me, particularly the Gen IV games. Platinum & HGSS I've replayed several times, and I'm currently replaying MD Explorers of Sky.

Astinus April 8th, 2015 12:20 PM

8

I don't really replay the games often enough. When I do, I always try to do something different in the game to make it feel like a new run.

moon April 8th, 2015 12:37 PM

7

I don't care much for Clefairy :D

And yeah Astinus, challenges are great for older games.

Meadow April 8th, 2015 12:41 PM

6.

I usually try to wait at least a year between playthroughs, but I've noticed that I rarely ever feel the same mystic excitement as the first time I've played a game, unless it's Mystery Dungeon or something. xD

Starry Windy April 8th, 2015 6:56 PM

7

I seldom replay any Pokémon games, because my adventures and my Pokémon are stored there. It would become a waste if I delete them.

DyingWillFlareon April 8th, 2015 8:29 PM

8

NO GUYS CLEFAIRY IS MY BABY
DONT LET IT DIE

Anyhow, I tend to replay games all the time since I do challenges on emulators. Emphasis on emulators, I don't like restarting my real cartridges either. :(
Except my Explorers of Darkness and Ranger games, those get restarted a lot. And my Sapphire game once, but someone else did that not me.

Squirrel April 8th, 2015 8:54 PM

7

Clefairy is neither cute nor fabulous, I am happy for it to die :D I like Clefable a lot but I always found Clefairy quite... strange looking. Cleffa is even worse. :D

Starry Windy April 8th, 2015 10:38 PM

8

I think Clefairy is quite unique, I still remember one of the earlier Pokémon episodes which involves a giant Moon Stone.

classiccartoonsftw April 9th, 2015 1:13 AM

9.

I'm voting Clefairy up, because I think it's a very cute Pokemon with a very cute evolution. I'm also glad it got the Fairy type in the sixth generation.

moon April 9th, 2015 1:15 AM

8

Cute fairy yeah, but it does not need to live.

/super grim

classiccartoonsftw April 9th, 2015 1:17 AM

I wouldn't mind if it fell in the Box of Shame in the Great Pokemon Battle 3. Clefable, on the other hand, is a great Pokemon in my opinion.

Percy April 9th, 2015 2:09 AM

10

Clefairy is cute, so why not?

blue April 9th, 2015 3:25 AM

Clefairy is probably my least favourite Pokémon, easy downvote!

Winter April 9th, 2015 4:54 AM

I think Clefairy is okay and doesn't deserve to be discarded.

Pendraflare April 9th, 2015 5:26 AM

Clefairy is really cool and I wish I had the chance to use one someday.

Squirrel April 9th, 2015 6:06 AM

10

What's so cool about it? :o Clefable I can understand liking but Clefairy is just its not-quite-fully-formed younger brother XD

DyingWillFlareon April 9th, 2015 9:26 AM

11

Cleffa nd Clefable look funny, Clefairy's the cute one. :0

Sheep April 9th, 2015 9:38 AM

I love Clefairy. Jigglypuff on the other hand isn't my type of Pokemon at all.. plus Clefairy has so many cute TCG cards. ^_^

Astinus April 9th, 2015 2:02 PM

11

I've used a Clefairy a few times before, and I can't even tell you what's good about it until it evolves. I like Cleffa (one got me into the Hall of Fame on Silver) and I like Clefable (one is currently my strongest Pokemon in Y), but Clefairy...the most I recall about it was spending a half-hour trying to find one in Mt. Moon in FireRed. I wanted to move on, but the Clefairy were hiding.

DyingWillFlareon April 9th, 2015 2:22 PM

12

wow bad luck I always find at least one there. ;3; In fact I found one on Green just now and despite the voice in my head screaming "YOU DONT NEED ANOTHER FLIPPING CLEFAIRY" I caught it and named it Pishi. ;3;

Meadow April 9th, 2015 2:25 PM

11.

I have nothing against the Clefairy-line, but it's personally not my cup of tea.

Cayo April 9th, 2015 5:58 PM

I prefer Jigglypuff. Let her voice serenade you all.

You've used an unevolved Cleffa against the E4? Now that takes guts, how did it go? I've done a solo run with just using Pachirisu in Pearl but even Cynthia's Garchomp dies pretty easily when you're 25 levels higher than it... :p

I've watched almost all of the Pokémon movies now, Pidgey and I used to watch them together a lot on livestreams etc so we've gone through almost all of them now haha. I think I still need to watch the Darkrai movie and the Unown movie (I think they have one?), but otherwise I'm quite sure I've watched them all... My favourite has always been the Lucario/Mew Hoenn movie just because I first watched it at a really happy time of my life so it's always had good connotations from that, but also because the Regis were so cool in it ♥

Sheep April 10th, 2015 8:21 AM

10

The Pokemon movies are really good! Speaking of, the Diancie movie has been out subbed for a while, really need to watch that soon gah. Don't watch dubs so it took me a while for this one.

Meadow April 10th, 2015 8:29 AM

11.

It has? Darn, I was only able to find the dub of that movie, and it was pretty awful. They butchered the entire soundtrack with stock music that didn't even fit the scenes, and the dialogue was so forced and awkward that I started realizing why most people who watch the dub hate the newer series so much.

(Still an invalid reason to hate a series, but TPCi seriously needs to step up their game... well, at least to Battle Frontier level dubbing.)

moon April 10th, 2015 8:30 AM

So we're still on Clefairy? Haha.

10 ;)

blue April 10th, 2015 8:34 AM

9

The first & third Pokémon movies are my favourites, I remember watching them on VCR over and over again.

Squirrel April 10th, 2015 8:37 AM

8

I didn't even realise a Diance movie existed - what's the plot? :o

Meadow April 10th, 2015 8:40 AM

7. ninja'd

I liked Temple of the Sea the most, but I also adored Destiny Deoxys, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and most of the ones from the original series. The DP ones were pretty good too, but the dubs weren't all that great unfortunately. As for the Best Wishes movies, the Victini one was just excellent, but every single movie after that took a giant decline in quality... =/

Does anyone have a good idea as to what caused this humungous quality drop? I'm guessing the Victini movie took too much of their budget by being released as two separate movies with completely different soundtracks, so the movies after that couldn't afford a good writer... but I dunno, it's just a rough guess.

classiccartoonsftw April 10th, 2015 8:45 AM

8.

I've seen all Pokemon movies from Pokemon 4Ever to Giratina and the Sky Warrior. I really enjoyed them.

moon April 10th, 2015 9:22 AM

7

Pokémon movies ain't my thing. I grew bored of them after the third.

Lycanthropy April 10th, 2015 10:39 AM

6

I watched all the moves from the first up till Arceus's one (except Lucario and the Mystery of Mew), but that was years ago. They're mostly good to watch, but most of them turn out as the same plot: an evil person wants to take control of <insert random legendary here> and has to be stopped. The only one with a real different plot was the first one. Here the legendary Pokémon and the evil guy are the same person.

moon April 10th, 2015 10:40 AM

5

I did kind of like that the three DP movies had the same legendaries appear. Some kind of almost-continuity haha.

classiccartoonsftw April 10th, 2015 10:42 AM

6.

I suddenly remember that I've seen The Power of One too!

Squirrel April 10th, 2015 11:41 AM

Power of One is the Lugia movie, right? If so that was one of my favourites, I always found the story so cool and epic as a child haha.

Actually, Destiny Deoxys and Lucario and the Mystery of Mew were very different, especially the latter. The Lucario movie had such a unique and likeable plot, so I'd recommend checking it out! (I'd even go far enough to say that it was the best Pokémon movie of all time, though it's still only my second favorite after Temple of the Sea.)

Aw, looks like the talk about movies is over. =/

Time to think of something new: What's your favorite move in the games, and why?

Astinus April 10th, 2015 3:16 PM

10

I haven't seen a lot of the Pokemon movies. The last one that I really sat down to watch was the fifth one with Latios/Latias. I have seen parts of the movie with Lucario and Mew, and it looked really amazing. I keep meaning to sit down and watch it at some point. Maybe once I finish my watchthrough of the Diamond/Pearl anime series.

My favorite movie in the games? I want to say Ice Beam. I don't know why, but it's the only move I get absolutely giddy about whenever I find out a Pokemon can learn it.

As for why I got a Cleffa into the E4 on Silver: It was in an egg when I challenged the E4, and hatched right before Lance. Whatever Pokemon I was using at the time knocked Lance's final Pokemon down to 1 HP, and was knocked out. Cleffa was my final Pokemon. I sent it out, the Dragonite either had to recharge or missed its attack, and Cleffa used whatever pitiful attack to finish Dragonite off. I just stared at my screen for a few seconds to process what just happened and if I had discovered the meaning of life.

Cayo April 10th, 2015 5:26 PM

9

Lol. That's pretty funny. What level did it end up reaching?

My favorite move is most definitely splash. It's just so awesome.

Jk. My favorite move is flamethrower. Even what it isn't effective, I still use it just because I can.

Astinus April 10th, 2015 5:32 PM

10

It reached level 13 after that battle, so it gained twelve levels in one go. That happened the last time I played Silver, so I never did anything more with that Cleffa. But because of that, I've always had a soft spot for Cleffa.

Cayo April 10th, 2015 6:35 PM

9

I like Wigglytuff and his guild a lot better. The guy is pretty freaking awesome.

I expected more level growth. That's still pretty cool though.

I can't really recall the story of Destiny Deoxys, I'm starting to doubt if I have even watched that movie fully, or just the second half. Nevertheless I have only seen it once. Maybe I should rewatch them sometime.

What's your favorite move in the games, and why?
I don't think I have one favorite move. In the games themselves I mostly rely on the moves that have maximum accuracy and a good attack power, like Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and Psychic. Moves like Rest and Recover are really helpful too. If your Pokémon gets damaged by a strong trainer battle, you just walk into the tall grass and meet a low level wild Pokémon and heal yourself, ready to face the next trainer.

Starry Windy April 11th, 2015 1:05 AM

12

I think one of my favorite moves is from Shaymin's. It happened to know Seed Flare, which has a big impact when I use it, can lower the opponent's Special Defense, and it's strong as well.
