Hmm, I think my favourite movie has to be the Rise of Darkrai. I love Oracion; it's such a beautiful song.

Meadow April 11th, 2015 10:01 AM

14.

As before, my favorite movie is still Temple of the Sea. Even if it's about a bad guy trying to take control of a Legendary Pokémon, the execution of the movie itself was just about perfect, especially when combined with its climatic atmosphere and awesome soundtrack.

As for my favorite move, that would have to be Energy Ball. I love its aesthetics, and it always feels so nice to land!

classiccartoonsftw April 11th, 2015 10:07 AM

15.

I think I'll do my favourite moves per type.

Normal - ExtremeSpeed
Fire - Flamethrower, Fire Punch
Water - Surf, Waterfall
Grass - Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Leaf Blade, Leech Seed
Electric - Thunderbolt, Thunderpunch
Ice - Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Ice Shard
Fighting - Brick Break, Cross Chop, Low Kick, Aura Sphere
Poison - Sludge Bomb
Ground - Earthquake, Earth Power
Flying - Fly, Aerial Ace
Psychic - Psychic, Psyshock, Psystrike
Bug - Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Signal Beam, X-Scissor, Megahorn
Rock - Rock Slide, Stone Edge
Ghost - Shadow Ball
Dragon - Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse
Dark - Crunch, Dark Pulse
Steel - Iron Head, Flash Cannon
Fairy - Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam

Meadow April 11th, 2015 10:59 AM

16.

Whoa, that's a lot! But sorting your favorite moves by type sounds a pretty good idea nonetheless. I should get around doing that sometime, but I'm kinda lazy, eheh.

(Oh, and I totally love all of those Grass-type moves up there!)

blue April 11th, 2015 1:36 PM

17

I like a lot of the moves that were introduced in Gen IV. Some of my favourites are X-Scissor, Dark Pulse, Cross Poison, Energy Ball, Bug Buzz, U-Turn and Roost.

Winter April 11th, 2015 8:04 PM

18

I don't really have favourite moves; I use whatever works for me. Some moves have beautiful animations though, like Solarbeam.

Meadow April 11th, 2015 8:06 PM

19.

Yeah, I find it pretty hard to pick a favorite. There are just too many moves that I love, but at least Energy Ball is lucky enough to stand out to me, haha.

Yay Clefable is saved~

Squirrel April 11th, 2015 8:16 PM

Next up Vulpix - pretty sure this one will be fast!

Meadow April 11th, 2015 8:22 PM

12.

I guess I have no other choice here. (lol)

Voliol April 12th, 2015 12:16 AM

13.

Who would vote against a cute orange fox cub?

classiccartoonsftw April 12th, 2015 12:25 AM

14.

I prefer Arcanine over Ninetales, but I think Vulpix is way cuter than Growlithe. Growlithe is still cute, though.

moon April 12th, 2015 1:40 AM

15

Vulpix shall live.

Lycanthropy April 12th, 2015 1:53 AM

16

I haven't really used Vulpix a lot, but Nasty Plot is a nice move for the Pokémon in Gen IV onward.

We're getting Ninetales now. This isn't the Great Pokemon Battle.

Winter April 12th, 2015 3:48 AM

12

DroughtTales~

Starry Windy April 12th, 2015 4:35 AM

13

Speaking of which, I've been grateful that Ninetales brought me to the success in several stages in Pokémon Shuffle, so this Pokémon deserves some 1-ups.

Voliol April 12th, 2015 4:39 AM

14

I think you're getting confused with game items...

blue April 12th, 2015 4:46 AM

Ninetales is awesome, but I'm questioning myself why I upvoted Clefable..

Winter April 12th, 2015 4:55 AM

16

Shouldn't you be questioning yourself for questioning yourself?

classiccartoonsftw April 12th, 2015 5:16 AM

17.

Ninetales was an important character in the first Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games.

Winter April 12th, 2015 5:28 AM

18

Ikr! I felt so glad and relieved that she was on the protagonists' side. And convinced the rest that the protagonist didn't pull her tail.

Starry Windy April 12th, 2015 5:34 AM

19

I guess you were talking about the original PMD, right? Maybe I'll reconsider playing one.

classiccartoonsftw April 12th, 2015 5:36 AM

20.

@Starry Windy: If I were you, I'd also play Explorers of Sky. It's the best PMD game to date.

Starry Windy April 12th, 2015 5:39 AM

11

Since Ninetales is saved with a clean sweep...
Next stop: The resident Pokémon singer, Jigglypuff! I'm wondering how well will it go.

Lycanthropy April 12th, 2015 5:58 AM

10

I don't really like Jigglypuff, it's just a singing pink ball.

Squirrel April 12th, 2015 6:12 AM

11

Jigglypuff is adoraaaaaaable, I love that little ball of fluff ♥

Winter April 12th, 2015 6:23 AM

10

I don't find it cute at all.

Chikara April 12th, 2015 6:41 AM

9

Jigglypuff had a bad attitude in the anime :T

Winter April 12th, 2015 6:54 AM

8

I think it always has that attitude. I swear when I first saw in LeafGreen, the sprite was giving me a menacing look that I immediately ran (though my Squirtle could've taken it out).

blue April 12th, 2015 7:22 AM

7

Not a fan of Jigglypuff, never have been!

Meadow April 12th, 2015 7:33 AM

6.

Wow, this is the most I've missed overnight in a really long time. But yeah, I strongly dislike Jigglypuff because of both the anime and Smash Bros. (especially the latter).

Hyzenthlay April 12th, 2015 7:59 AM

7.

Aww, why so much hate? She's like a cute li'l Kirby. :(

Hyzenthlay April 12th, 2015 9:25 AM

blue April 12th, 2015 4:09 PM

Yeah, Zubat is bringing back too many pesky memories from all those caves. Crobat is waaaay better though.

Meadow April 12th, 2015 8:38 PM

9.

Hmm, looks like it's time for a new topic: What's your favorite method of evolution? And while we're at it: How do you feel about trade-evolutions?

Starry Windy April 12th, 2015 9:51 PM

10.

I personally like evolution via leveling up, since that's how it goes naturally, most of the time.

Aslan April 12th, 2015 10:01 PM

11

As much as I hated walking through caves because of Zubat, I actually liked it a lot as a team member. Also what's cooler than having a pokemon called 'BATMAAAAN'?

Yeah I agree with Windy! I think leveling up's the easiest one to achieve and it makes the most sense out of all the other methods. Trading's okay though it's kind of a hassle having to go into the room and trade, let alone organise one with a friend. Wonder Trade's amazing though. :]

Squirrel April 12th, 2015 10:05 PM

12

Personally I really like Zubat, I think it's a real cutie and I adore seeing it flutter around aimlessly like it has no idea where it is. :D

classiccartoonsftw April 12th, 2015 11:41 PM

13.

I've never had a problem with Zubat and Golbat being so common. In fact, Zubat is actually a really cute Pokemon, and Golbat is pretty cool. But Crobat is simply amazing.

Zubat is fabulous, no contestion. 8)

Lycanthropy April 13th, 2015 1:21 AM

15

I just really like Zubat...

As for evolution methods, levelling feels the most natural and it is the best balanced too. Stone evolutions have the problem they don't learn any moves, so you need to wait either until like level 50 for it learning a necessary move or stick without good moves. Or you breed all the moves and you can obtain the evolution at level 1 already.
Trade evolution is just introduced to let you persuade your friends in buying the game too, otherwise these Pokémon are not able to be obtained. I'm not a real fan of the system, because the middle evolutions like Graveler and Kadabra can immediately evolve, which you'll probably do. This makes you never actually use the middle evolutions and that's a shame.

Starry Windy April 13th, 2015 2:01 AM

16

I'm not quite fond of trade-based evolution too, especially if special items are involved. Even finding one on GTS can be hard at times.

17

I remember people in primary school trading version exclusive pokemon for a bit of extra cash actually. If you wanted someone to link trade your Kadabra it'd be a dollar and getting version exclusives from other games would be two or three. It was kinda like a mini business within our school. And super clever now that I think about it...

You could also be stuck with the middle evolutions if you don't have access to trading. That makes up for people who instanty evolve their Kadabras and Haunters. ;]

Yeah, I found that one of my least favourite things about trading. It's easy enough swapping a pokemon but it's sad knowing that you can't have unlimited Porygon2 due to the limited number of its trading item. :((

18

Wild Zubats are a pain. However when they get to Crobat, they're not bad at all.

Starry Windy April 13th, 2015 2:34 AM

19

This reminds me of the episode (the similar episode that I mentioned days ago about the Moon Stone), where Brock caught one of the Zubats. And now, it's a Crobat nowadays.

Aslan April 13th, 2015 2:41 AM

20

Looks like Zubat's been saved!

@ Windy: Don't remember Brock ever having a Crobat! I didn't watch much of the pokeanime though, only enough to see that one of the best OTPs in the series would of been him and Nurse Joy. Though it's kinda creepy thinking that he's hit on twenty different Nurse Joys. Maybe even a hundred. ):

And next up is Golbat! Let's see how the slightly scarier Zubat fares.

Lycanthropy April 13th, 2015 2:49 AM

11

I like Golbat a little less than Zubat, but enough to upvote it.

Brock is absolutely creepy, but you don't really realize that when you're a kid. Then you think it's funny he gets poked by his Croagunk all the time in the Sinnoh episodes, but the first two generations didn't have a character like Croagunk, right?

blue April 13th, 2015 3:08 AM

noo I thought I'd forgotten about gen 1 golbat ;__;

As much as I like Golbat, it's probably my least favourite of the Zubat family. Its design makes it look like a run over beetroot and its sprites aren't exactly all happy happy fun times either. :(

It's still alright though! I mean it has two other cool pokemon in its family, that's gotta mean something right?

Winter April 13th, 2015 5:31 AM

12

Least appealing design. I don't get how it's mouth became so big and then shrank upon evolution. The old sprites..... /cringes

classiccartoonsftw April 13th, 2015 5:40 AM

13.

I love how Crobat always has its teeth clenched.

Starry Windy April 13th, 2015 5:44 AM

12.

Is it just me that while I like Zubat and Crobat's design, I don't quite like Golbat's, a bit?

classiccartoonsftw April 13th, 2015 5:49 AM

I do like Golbat's design myself. But Crobat looks better.

Meadow April 13th, 2015 6:38 AM

Dang it guys... second day in a row where I missed a LOT overnight. (lol)

I guess I don't have any problems with Golbat, but I don't really like it either, so...

Hyzenthlay April 13th, 2015 6:48 AM

15.

lol that sprite. I like the entire bat family. :D

classiccartoonsftw April 13th, 2015 6:50 AM

I don't like the Woobat and Noibat lines as much as the Zubat line.

Meadow April 13th, 2015 6:54 AM

17.

Not too fond of Woobat either, but at least Swoobat is okay.

Squirrel April 13th, 2015 6:58 AM

16

I don't like Golbat at all, I always found his design really silly and compared to Zubat/Crobat it just isn't a cool Pokémon :(

blue April 13th, 2015 6:59 AM

17

The Woobat line is pretty cool, same goes for the Noibat line.

Hyzenthlay April 13th, 2015 7:00 AM

18.

Yeah, I forgot. Woobat doesn't make my list.

classiccartoonsftw April 13th, 2015 7:03 AM

19.

I think Woobat's design could've been better. I'm not too fond of Swoobat's nose, either.

Meadow April 13th, 2015 7:19 AM

20.

So... Oddish is next?

Starry Windy April 13th, 2015 7:47 AM

11.

Yep. I remember when I used to catch Oddish, I find it interesting that I can use its Sweet Scent to invite any wild Pokémon to battle when in the tall grass.

Squirrel April 13th, 2015 7:52 AM

12

Yaaaay Oddish, one of my all-time favourites I adore that little onion ♥

Squirrel April 13th, 2015 8:10 AM
