Watch Out For Ghosts... (Read first post!)

Watch Out For Ghosts...

What's that noise... oh, sorry, hi. Let's chat. Say anything you want, anything at all, I like to talk about Pokémon... at least I think I do...? Let me tell you a story...

Once upon a time there was a thread. This thread was a simple thread to chat about Pokémon in, just to chill back and have fun with friends, and we kept a counter going as we posted just to see how far we could get. Then they came... The more we spoke, the more things began to feel strange. People... changed, in that thread. One minute my friends would be acting completely normal, the next minute they'd change, they'd attack us, they'd scare us half to death. We began using the counter as a method of tracking their progress, trying to find the patterns they played by... We worked out that every time the counter hit 50, another of our friends would change into one of them. But when we reached 100... everything seemed ok again. Everything seemed cleansed. Other than the one unfortunate soul to still be counting... We only reached higher than that once, before the attacks came again - we thought we were in the clear, until I began to change myself. I'd hit 150. I started to twist, change... I never returned to how I used to be. I'm different, I'm changed. I scare myself sometimes, but I prefer to scare them instead... Sometimes I'll just shout "BOO!", and they all just have to start over again...

Now that you know my story, come count with me...

~ 1 ~

Becoming a Ghost...

  • If the counter reaches 50 on your post, you're turned into a regular Ghost!
  • If the counter reaches 100 on your post, every other Ghost is cleansed and returns to being human - other than you!
  • If you the counter reaches 150 on your post... good luck. You're now a permanent ghost and cannot be revived in any way!
  • As a Ghost, you can post "BOO!" to scare the thread at any time, resetting the counter to 0.
  • Feel free to post which Ghost-Pokémon you become when you change, otherwise I'll randomly assign you one!

Rules!

  • All Pokémon Trivia rules apply.
  • With every new post, increase the counter in the corner by 1.
  • If a Ghost comes in to scare the thread, reset the counter to 0.
  • Upon reaching 150, the counter is automatically reset to 0.
  • This is a DCC thread, so feel free to be creative with conversation topics!
  • Even though this is a chatting thread, all posts must be about Pokémon.
  • Try not to reset the count too much at first, we want a few ghosts to build up before the counts get more intense!
  • Have fun, or else!
Current Ghosts!

Rewards!

You may be wondering why you should count up to your demise? Well, being a Ghost does have its perks... (Hover over images for details!)

Now, let's begin our own tale... What's your favourite Ghost-Pokémon?

Sirfetch’d March 27th, 2015 7:52 PM

~ 2 ~

My favorite ghost Pokemon is Jellicent because it's so cute omg! Not to mention it has an amazing typing aaa <3

Meadow March 27th, 2015 7:56 PM

3.

Oh, dear. It's this thread, of all things haha. My favorite Ghost-type is definitely Dusknoir, mainly because of Mystery Dungeon. xD

alisaie March 27th, 2015 7:57 PM

4.

Litwick! Adorable little candle it's so cute I can't handle.

( Also I was wondering whether to bring this back when we had The Bulbasaur Race. Thank you for making the decision for me and with a bonus no less!)

GET GHOSTBUSTERED

Favourite ghost type? Drifloon, Rotom and Haunter are my top three though I really like the idea behind the type in general. :]

also I was promised free cookies, a hug and a pass to harry potter world if I posted here. where's my prize? ):

Omg I forgot about Drifloon! If we count the shiny version it is definitely my favorite haha. That yellow is adorable ;o;

There are even some ghosts in those!

Meadow March 27th, 2015 8:05 PM

8.

Personally, I would like to see a Ghost-type ninja Pokémon (besides Shedinja, of course).

Squirrel March 27th, 2015 8:15 PM

9

My favourite Ghost-type has always been Drifloon, especially the shiny version - I even have a shiny Drifloon plushie whom I've named Floony sat on my shelf. I'll take a picture sometime and post it here :D

alisaie March 27th, 2015 8:19 PM

10.

Hnnng I would love to have a plushie of any Shiny Pokemon. But I do have a Litwick on a Cupcake that I got from a really good friend for Christmas. ♥

DyingWillFlareon March 27th, 2015 8:25 PM

11

I don't really like that many Ghost Types but I've always had a soft spot for the Gastly line, Shuppet, Sableye, and Litwick. They're cool/cute in their own ways! :)

I have some plushies, but no shinies.... I have Chespin, Flareon, Dedenne, and Poliwhirl. But my little brother got a Sylveon for his birthday and it's missing the front bow. O_O It looks so cool.

Meadow March 27th, 2015 8:27 PM

12.

You just reminded me about Spiritomb (by bringing up Sableye, haha). Gotta love that thing! As for plushies, my room is full of them. =O

(I wuv my Bulbasaur plushie. x3)

alisaie March 27th, 2015 8:30 PM

13.

I have quite a few Pokemon plushies and then so many other stuffed animals in my room. Top it off with the other stuff in my room no one would walk in and think that a 22-year old sleeps in there. Especially not with a bed that has Pikachu Sheet/Blanket/Pillow and an Ash Plush to top everything else off.

Oh god I remember seeing your collection in the past, it was so impressive I was jealous paha. I've built up a bit more since we discussed them (not sure I ever showed you mine though!), will be taking a picture shortly to upload :D

DyingWillFlareon March 27th, 2015 9:19 PM

15

Oooh now I have to take a picture of my new collection too! :0
But I'm going to sleep after checking out to see if my rom team is on and checking the event challenge. Night.

haha oh yeah I did post it in the past didn't I! My Pokemon part have grown quite a bit since then. I had to move all the old stuff animals that were on my dresser tomake way for all the PIkachus I have. I should post updated pictures of my room sometime after I clean it.

I thiiiiink I remember seeing yours but it's been a while so I totally would love to see it again! I'd love to see everyone's collection haha. ♥

Squirrel March 27th, 2015 10:00 PM

Here we go :D Couldn't be bothered to separate any of them or take off the festive hats (Squirtle is hiding under the penguin hat!) but might try tomorrow haha.

Guardian March 28th, 2015 12:57 AM

Nice topic!
18.

I dont understand one thing though. If post 50 always makes one ghost, and 100 removes that from all the ghosts but one, will there always be one ghost then?

Also guys dont discuss so fast. I wanna talk about ghosts and you're on the collections already.
Anyway, ghosts.
I love them, my third favorite type along Phychic.

My favorite by far would Haunter, probably from the moment I saw that anime episode of the Terror Tower (or sth like that). I prefer it a bit over Gengar cos Gengar is a bit too...round? I guess. Anyway, I love how it always has fun in its own twisted way, and he's amused by pretty much anything. Definitely one side of me,one of the reasons why he's in my Power/dream/whatever team. :D

http://cdn.staticneo.com/w/pokemon/5/57/093.gif

Also have you noticed how Haunter's body looks like its not finished. I'd say it's full form is a huge four-legged cat/dog hybrid >: D

Also Squirrel, you could put in the 3D pokedex gifs in the first post (Misdreavus), it'd look better imo.

Zeffy March 28th, 2015 1:21 AM

19. This reminds me of the "Watch out for zombies" game in Other Trivia a few years back. Those were pretty good times :]

Anywho, my favourite Ghost-type Pokemon is Cofagrigus! I don't quite remember the details but I do remember being obsessed with the Cofagrigus line a year ago or so, haha.

Lycanthropy March 28th, 2015 1:28 AM

20

Awesome, another chatting topic, reminds me of that thread on Forum Games where moderators can reset the count.

The ghost type is one of my favorite types, following psychic and flying, tied with dark. My favorite ghost Pokémon are Ghastly's and Litwick's lines.

As for collection, I don't have any dolls. I do have a few figures, some posters, a bunch of cards and some tokens with Pokémon images on them which change their image if you watch from a different angle.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 6:07 AM

21

I am most certainly not showing off my Primal Fight poster
Collection wise other than those dolls, I have a bunch of games, spin off games, cards, that poster, and a Victini figure(that I....lost....). With the cards I once got a coin that had Reshiram and Zekrom on it but I could not for the life of me figure out what it was, but I held it upside down and thought 'OH I GET IT, it's Mega Latias and Mega Latios!' But I mean I figured it out but still, a coin with FOUR Pokemon on it? XD

Haunter..... With four legs..... *shudders* That's kinda creepy. :D

Sheep March 28th, 2015 7:31 AM

22

@merch being posted: That is killer cute. I have quite a lot of merch but it's never enough! Just a few days ago my nine year-old brother spent some of his money to get me a Turtwig plush when we were at the toy store. So cuteeeee.

Ghosts are awesome too.. tied for my second favorite type next to grass. Banette is so dear to my heart.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 7:50 AM

23.

Okay, wowww... I'm officially ashamed of my puny collection, which I previously thought was rather big. xD

Astinus March 28th, 2015 7:52 AM

24

My collection is unfortunately put away into boxes. I have a way too large collection of books that I needed room for, so pretty much all of my Pokemon merchandise had to go away into storage. The only things I have out are a few Charmander/Charizard things.

Favorite Ghost is probably Sableye, who's adorable and strong. I like its design.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 7:52 AM

25 ninja'd

Well I only have 4, so I'm sure yours is bigger Revise. XD Also I just remembered about this, but go ahead and add 'Pokemon HGSS Guidebook from a random Bookstore' to my merch list. XD
Maybe the Pokemon Company should consider making Mystery Dungeon plushies, with bandanas, Treasure bags, and Guild Badges.......?....

Still not that big of a fan of Ghost types, but their few weaknesses are pretty cool.

blue March 28th, 2015 7:55 AM

26

My collection is almost non-existent, with the exception of one or two plushies. ;;

As for my favourite Ghost-type, easily Mismagius! Wasn't really a fan of Misdreavus to start off with, but since it got an evolution in Generation IV it has become my favourite Ghost-type line!

Meadow March 28th, 2015 7:56 AM

27. Blue ninja'd me again, lol.

@Flare I'm down for Mystery Dungeon merchandise any day. xD Those Guild Badges sound very tempting, as well as bandanas and Treasure Bags. x3

blue March 28th, 2015 8:06 AM

28 oops!

There's a website that sells the Gym Badges, I'd definitely spend some money on those! Particulatly the Hoenn Badges here.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 8:09 AM

29.

Oh, nice. Those badges are lookin' sweet! I remember back in the day when I tried collecting badges from the TCG, but I was missing two of them -__-

Astinus March 28th, 2015 8:13 AM

30

That store even has the Unova badges! Those look awesome!

Oh man. Back in the day, I used to run a Pokemon TCG league. If I didn't quit working at the store before they ended the League, I would have taken all their spare supplies. I'm sure people would love to get their hands on those TCG League badges.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 8:22 AM

31

Oooooh those badges look neat! If I'd known that there were badges I could buy I wouldn't have decided to spend all money on Pokemon Green. XD

Meadow March 28th, 2015 8:35 AM

32.

You bought Green Version? O_O That reminds me of how much I wish it was localized, considering green is my favorite color and all. =/

blue March 28th, 2015 8:38 AM

33

@Flareon Is there much different between Green Version and Red/Blue Versions? Other than the sprites of course.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 9:06 AM

34

Actually I'm planning on buying it this weekend, not bought yet haha... But yeah it would be nice to have it localized...

I think just the sprites and maps were different, but hey it has Missingno! :D I only had English Yellow so I can't get Missingno.... YET Well I think it's a different Missingno bht still a glitch Pokemon. :0 If I didn't know Kanto so well from challenges then I would have trouble with the Japanese, but all I have to do is look up 'what move does <pokemon> learn at level 33' for the moves, ha.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 9:20 AM

35.

Missingno. is a Bird-type, right? Just thinking about that creeps me out. xD

Squirrel March 28th, 2015 9:30 AM

36

Guys it's gone 5 pm and I just woke up what is life .-.

Missingno was a Bird-type? :o I always thought it was a glitched Rapidash sprite, I think my brother told me that when I was younger and I always just believed him paha.

Yup, the 100 posts rule is there to make sure there'll always be at least one Ghost around, and it also lets there be a Ghost leftover for if we hit 150 posts :D

Mm I was considering that and you're right they're much better sprites, but I was worrying it'd take up too much room once we get more than one ghost haha. I guess I could add the pictures and then put the username of the person as a title for when you hover over it...? Hmm, I'll have a play around with it a bit later and see what we can do!

If anything, I would've guessed that it was a Ghost-type, but apparently not... =/ (Poor birds)

39.

Holy cow, I never knew that fossils had battle sprites (creepyyyy~). O_O
I feel so behind now, haha.

alisaie March 28th, 2015 9:54 AM

40.

Maybe if I'm bored or something I'll actually CSS this thread up. I meant to do that years ago and never got around to it. :') But maybe the little PC icons would work best imo.

I never did the glitches because I never got that far in RBY. XD;

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 9:55 AM

41 gettin close!

Yeah, I think if you go into Pewter Museum there were statues where you can see the Fossils like that. :D
Did you know cheating a Pokemon that you can't catch wild(the starters, Mew, Eevee, etc) then the sprites would mess up? I had a Porygon from the wild and it's sprite wasn't normal, same with a Charmander and Bulbasaur haha.

Revise please don't pass your ninja luck off onto me! D:

Squirrel March 28th, 2015 9:56 AM

42

I started off using CSS for it but then couldn't find a background I was happy with and got bored trying at 4 am pahaha. I have some rough CSS saved for it with all the text already in so I can finish that up later or send it to you if you want to - either is good with me :D

I'm trying to remember some of the other glitches that were in the games - was't there something about a Rapish that could use Surf on Cinnabar Island or something like that...?

Meadow March 28th, 2015 10:01 AM

43.

Speaking of Surf and glitches, is there any way to glitch the game to get yourself a Surfboard?

alisaie March 28th, 2015 10:05 AM

44.

I think that's actually the reason why I ended up not completing the CSS for it: the background. xD So I guess if I find a background that might work I'll send it over or something?

The only glitch that I ever did was the Mew glitch haha.

If I were you, I'd do it that way for no more than five people. If it's more then five then I'd either use smaller sprites or put them into spoiler.
Those 3D sprites always baits attention so it could get us more people to participate? I dont know, for now 3D shouldnt use too much space I think!

Guys, the best glitch ever was Mew in Pokemon Yellow.
I've never been so happy like when I was able to perform the Mew glitch in Pokemon Yellow. Its not too easy but you can obtain ANY Pokemon through that glitch. I still have it too :D

Mm that's a fair point, I'll mess around with the formatting a bit later and we can try to find a compromise haha. We'll decide what's happening about adding CSS first though, then we'll know how much space we have to play with :D

A quick question for everyone; Sven was messaging me about the 100 posts event where all other Ghosts are reset and pointed out that this could make it pretty un-fun for everyone who gets reset, which is a very fair point - how do you all feel about this rule and does anyone have suggestions for a replacement event at 100 posts?

alisaie March 28th, 2015 10:49 AM

47.

Well, it's like that because if the ghosts aren't reset at some point then eventually everyone will become a ghost and that wouldn't be any fun. So it's kinda there to keep the game going; if everyone/all the regulars are ghosts then there's not really any point to the game anymore. Especially if the ghost continously say Boo then it's just frustrating. It's the same reason why we changed 'Don't let the mods say anything' to 'don't let the mods say zero'. There were so many mods posting in there that it was just frustration for the regular members to really get anywhere with the number count.

Since the game is in increments of 50 instead of 100 I feel like the event of ghosts being reset at some point is even more vital.

Guardian March 28th, 2015 11:00 AM

48.

Yeah but it says that on every 100th post you become a ghost and everyone loses the title. So either the current ghost would have to say boo before the 100th post all the time, resetting everything to 0 which would be a bit irritating (or might be, we'll see), or we would never have more than 1 ghost.

alisaie March 28th, 2015 11:04 AM

49.

Huh? Oh no, it's not every 100 posts! It's every time the count gets to 100! And when the count gets to 50 another Ghost is made so there's always at least two ghosts before the count hits 100. And remember that ghosts can say boo! and reset the count so really there can be plenty of ghosts before the count hits 100 if they're active enough and keep saying Boo! after 50 but before 100.

Guardian March 28th, 2015 11:05 AM

50.

Boo!, just kidding >: )

tehehehehe

I'm a Haunter now. Be aware!

Sorry Giratina cant choose two! :(
Sora, I get it now. Still, expect that we will never get to 100th count. I dont want to lose my cool status D:
Also I kept refreshing this thread to get the right post count lol. Im too competitive sometimes lol.
Squirrel if you decide to use 3D pics, you can just copy the one from my signature. :)

alisaie March 28th, 2015 11:12 AM

51.

Though, like you said, if ghosts constantly say boo! between 50 and 100 and never let it reach hundred then it'll be annoying, wouldn't it? So eventually I'm sure you'll get it get to 100 to keep the game flowing. It's how it happened in the past. ;)

Guardian March 28th, 2015 11:17 AM

Yeah you're right. I guess we'll see. Everything related to ghosts is never certain. One moment, there's no one, the next moment you know, plates are flying towards you lol.

Btw in Pokemon: Guardian signs there is an abandoned house, and plates are actually flying towards you when you first enter it lol.

Btw#2, did you guys like the Pokemon Tower episode? It's my favorite one. Or in top 5 for sure.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 11:34 AM

53.

Wow, a ghost already? That was fast... As for the Pokémon Tower episode, I liked it, but I still think the Litwick Mansion episode is one of the best fillers ever made (especially the subbed version). xD

blue March 28th, 2015 11:42 AM

54

I watched The Pokemon Tower episode quite recently as I started watching the Indigo League on Netflix. You really do forget how good the series was back then.

Astinus March 28th, 2015 11:48 AM

55

You really do forget just how different the anime was back then. The few times I went back to watch it, there was just more of a sense of mystery and "going into the unknown" adventure about it. Maybe because it was so brand-new to me at the time, and I hold onto that because of the nostalgia. If I watch the current season of the anime, it might feel different because I know so much about Pokemon.

I think the Orange Islands season has all of my favorite fillers. None of them were boring to me.

Guardian March 28th, 2015 11:57 AM

56

I'll agree with you on that one Astinus. It definitely had a lot more mystery. it was a lot more unpredictable.
Nowadays I could even predict which Pokemon will win.
The only thing that is unpredictable now is Team Rocket. You know someone will blast them away, but that's the only thing you know lol.

Sheep March 28th, 2015 11:59 AM

57

The Orange Islands saga was amazing. Agree that every episode was interesting and I found myself hooked before I knew it, wanting to rewatch them all constantly. The badge matches were really fun, too, and I'm a little upset that we don't have gyms like that nowadays. Ash just comes in and challenges the leader. What about all those traps we have in the games?? :(

Squirrel March 28th, 2015 12:14 PM

0

BOO! Fear my ghostly powers. I'm resetting it now quickly just so we can build up another ghost or two before we hit 100 - based on what Sora said I think we should keep the 100 posts event but there's not a lot of point reaching it right now with only two ghosts so let's recruit some more undeads!

Mm The Orange Islands really were a cool arc, I loved all the different kinds of 'battles' they introduced and you're right the badge matches really were a lot of fun to watch. Plus some of his Pokémon underwent such cool development stories during that arc, I loved the whole thing ♥

Guardian March 28th, 2015 12:14 PM

1

Nah, he'd probably fall in every one of those and still get the badges.

Did anyone notice how most of his Pokemon just come to him, he barelly puts an effort to catch them

And did anyone notice how in one episode he had beaten a WILD SWAMPERT, and just figured he should go further?! I'll never forgive him that, who does that!

I keep forgetting to put the number in.
Thanks Squirrel, may the scaring begin!

Meadow March 28th, 2015 2:17 PM

2.

Well, that's Ash for you haha. It does seem that they'll be giving him some more character development in XY (to make up for BW Ash), but I doubt he'll receive as much development as Serena or Citron. Oh, well. Some is better than nothing, after all.

Squirrel March 28th, 2015 2:21 PM

3

Has the XY anime been worth watching so far? I didn't give it a chance after the BW2 arc got so dull XD

Meadow March 28th, 2015 2:32 PM

4.

Ohoho, don't let that throw you off! xD The writers may have stopped caring about Best Wishes, but they're really giving it their all with XY. My only problems with it so far are the lagginess from episodes 11 to 25 and the problems I have with the rest of the Pokémon anime as a whole.

It's a shame that they didn't re-attempt the approach they took with the first 24 episodes of Best Wishes, but at least they're holding strong in a unique way!

5 I keep forgetting the number ugh!

I dont know. I keep delaying. I havent watched anything after third gen except for few Diamong/Pearl episodes. Im planning on doing a huge Pokemon marathon and watch all the episodes in a year or two. Im waiting for the best moment though, Pokemon are too precious to just be watched like any other random anime lol.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 2:47 PM

6.

That's understandable, but it's actually a lot easier to watch them while they're still airing, haha. If you let them accumulate, then it'll take a heck of a lotta willpower to actually watch them through. xD

/speaking from experience

Guardian March 28th, 2015 2:59 PM

7

Oh I dont need willpower for that. Im genuinely looking forward to it. I love Pokemon anime to the point where I could, without any problem, rewatch same episodes over and over. Mostly cos of Team Rocket ...and Misty :c come back pls?
But yeah, 800+ episodes is in fact a lot to watch at once but oh well, we'll see how it goes.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 3:27 PM

I keep freaking clickinv the next to last page on theads. >:0

Anyway, I don't follow what's gling on here at all but it seems to be 'let's rewatch every Pokemon episode in existence.'

blue March 28th, 2015 4:04 PM

9

I'm about 20 episodes into the Indigo League, but the fact that there's another 800+ episodes after that is kinda daunting.

Meadow March 28th, 2015 4:08 PM

10.

Haha, imagine you watched one episode per week for 800 weeks. How many years will it be until you're finished? xD

Heck, even if you watched one per day, it'll still take you well over two years. O_O

Squirrel March 28th, 2015 5:55 PM

11

Yeah that's quite a scary thought pahaha. I would rather just no-life it and watch them all over the space of a week, that sounds like a really good week to me :D

Meadow March 28th, 2015 6:00 PM

12.

Oh, nooooo it isn't. xD Believe me, I've done this multiple times before (with Yu-Gi-Oh, which I love more than Pokémon), and my life was absolutely miserable. Unless I happen to be the odd one out, I would never recommend it, haha.

alisaie March 28th, 2015 7:20 PM

13.

Guys stop having anime conversations without me gosh. :(

getting through Indigo and Orange League took me.... idk since I took a twomonth break near the indigo league lmfao. But the Orange League itself I believe took me two-three days. And the amount I did watch of Johto took me about one-two weeks? Between having work and such. And I think I actually only have like ten episodes left of Johto so it's just a matter of.... sitting down and finding time to watch them.

DyingWillFlareon March 28th, 2015 8:23 PM

14

I used to have Boomerang, so I watched a Kanto/Johto episode every day, then we got rid of a lot of channels on our cable including that so I had the DP anime and newer Unova episodes on Cartoon Network. Then I missed all but 3 episodes of XY. I now have Netflix though. :0
Also I was watching a BW episode with my brothers and it was the FLIPPING LAST EPISODE WHERE IRIS AND CILAN LEFT AND THE ONE AFTER THAT I WASN'T EXPECTING IT. *angry sigh*

alisaie March 28th, 2015 10:39 PM

15.

Ughhh I know how that feels when you watch something and it ends up being the end of the season or series or whatever. It's not so much with some shows, but it just doesn't work with Pokemon I don't think. To be honest knowing that he's going to lose every league is probably why I keep slowing down when I get closer to every league other than the Orange one hahaha.

Foxrally March 29th, 2015 12:36 AM

16!

Oooh, fancy ghost thread! I call dibs on Golurk :3

You guys should totally watch Legend of Korra BTW. It's the first thing that comes up to mind when I think of a series :D

Lycanthropy March 29th, 2015 1:26 AM

17

Although, I admit the Legend of Korra is a good series, it has nothing to do with Pokémon and we can't really go deep into it, at least not on this forum.

Avatar Arceus, master of all 18 types. Urge to rewrite opening in pokeform

Guardian March 29th, 2015 2:57 AM

I gave up on TV's Pokemon cos of constant seasons changing and cutting it in the middle.

Guys my advice is this. Every morning, preferably on the school/college break, wake up early, get some food, and watch 3-4 episodes. This is absolutely, the best possible way to start a day. I watched about 100 episodes few summers ago but couldnt continue. Looking forward to redoing it all over again, and hopefully watch the entire anime this time xD

Voliol March 29th, 2015 3:06 AM

20.

That sounds like it will take a long time...
By the way, aren't you a ghost Sven?

Guardian March 29th, 2015 3:21 AM

21

Probably, but I'm fine with that. When it comes to Pokemon, I wouldnt mind taking it a long time, Im not in a hurry witht his franchise :D

Yes I am :D

Zeffy March 29th, 2015 3:24 AM

22.

Well I'm done with Pokemon anime in general but that's what I usually do for other anime that I watch! :D I mean, marathon-ing 1-2 seasons in a day is cool and all, but nothing beats old school, slowly watching the plot develop anime watching. x]

Guardian March 29th, 2015 4:00 AM

23.

That's why I say, 3ish episodes a day. You'd still need about a year to do so, without pauses.

Voliol March 29th, 2015 5:04 AM

24.

>_< that's why I'd never try watching anything too long...

Zeffy March 29th, 2015 5:20 AM

25.

It's the contrary for me. I appreciate watching stuff that are longer--but not long enough that it drags out the content of the actual thing (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN!!!) haha

Foxrally March 29th, 2015 5:25 AM

Me and my brother watched the Arceus movie a few days ago and the entire time I kept yelling "DAWN USE MAMMOSWINE TO BREAK OUT DAMMIT"
"DAWN IT'S A FIRE TYPE YOU CAN USE MAMMOSWINE"
"OH NOW ITS A STEEL TYPE WITH HIM, MORE OF A REASON TO MAMMOSWINE HIS FACE"
"YOU COULD LITERALLY BEAT ALL OF THEM WITH MAMMOSWINE"

Poor Mamo doesn't get enough love :(

DyingWillFlareon March 29th, 2015 6:09 AM

27

I get what you're saying Foxrally. XD My younger brothers were watching Pokemon so I came in and sat with them and immediately started yelling because Ash had Butterfree(the Unova one) that he could use a supereffective move or something but used the wrong one. I honestly forgot what it was but I was ticked off, that's bad trainer-ing.

Lol, Im actually hoping that at some point I'll watch Pokemon with someone with whom I'll be able to yell at the screen telling them how stupid/good their decisions in battles are!

Foxrally March 29th, 2015 7:03 AM

29

According to my brother, you know Ash has gone full retard when he yells "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

But in defense of the anime, some moves that are ineffective in the game do make more sense in a real-time action situation. For example, silver wind would technically turn off a Charmander's tail flame or blast away a Pidgey, but ingame is ineffective.

Squirrel March 29th, 2015 7:03 AM

30

Oh yay some new faces, hi guys :D

Oh god I know the feeling, I used to get so frustrated when they made such stupid decisions in the anime hahaha. Especially in the Nimbassa gym battle - "ASH YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH 5 WHOLE REGIONS BY NOW HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU BE THIS DUMB!?" I love the kid but sometimes he can be so dense. XD

alisaie March 29th, 2015 8:18 AM

31.

Okay first of all the Nimbasa gym battle was the worst thing on the planet I seriously think Ash hit his head really hard or something during the train fiasco in the episodes before because oh my god Ash.

But in general? He's not a bad trainer. He makes mistakes, sure, but look even I make mistakes in things that I'm really good at by now. Really dumb ones. And as for the Unova!Butterfree it could be possible that it just didn't know the super-effective move. It did just evolve, and the anime works very differently than the games.

hi i'm tara and i'm here to defend my child. except from the nimbasa gym battle because haha ash you performed terribly i can't even.

Guardian March 29th, 2015 9:49 AM

I said this couple of times in the last few days, and I'll repeat it again. I will never forgive him not capturing a WILD Swampert he KO-ed. But he's a nice guy and I'll give you that.

Also guys, I want a friend like Brock. He cooks, he has everything needed for the adventure, and he has a frying pan as an umbrella. I seriously need a friend like him.
I'd give almost everything to be able to just teleport into their world and spend my life traveling around the world and sleeping in Pokemon Centers and riding Lugia and whatnot.

Mana March 29th, 2015 9:49 AM

33.

I don't think I've seen move of the Unova series ): maybe I should catch up. I've watched like random bits from every season aha. I was watching a newer episode the other day and recall Ash checking a pokemon he used to own on the pokedex, ouch.

can't remember what it is, did I imagine this?

alisaie March 29th, 2015 9:55 AM

34.

If it was in Best Wishes he was the only one with a Pokedex. So regardless of whether he's met/had/seen the Pokemon or not he might have used it for Cilan's the Iris' sake. After all, for the longest time it was only Unova Pokemon that they had seen until much later into the series because of BW2.

What's funny is that people were griping about Ash using the Pokedex on Koffing when he fought Roxie but before that episode he never actually used the Pokedex on Koffing prior. Even though he fought one frequently for a while until James' evolved into Weezing (which Ash has also never used a Pokedex on). So it's kinda like 'Oh I know this Pokemon but let's see what the Pokedex says about it' which, considering that the Pokedex's info updates constantly isn't as bad a thing as people make it out to be imo?

Also Ash has his own way of thinking when it comes to which Pokemon to catch. It's never really purely about getting the strongest Pokemon. And if he already had a team why catch the Swampert anyways? It's like whenever we play our games. If we have a team of six or a Pokemon doesn't interest us we're not going to catch it no matter how strong it might be. ;)

Guardian March 29th, 2015 9:57 AM

35

I remember that episode...it was every third episode in newer generations!

Jokes aside, I wouldnt know cos I havent watched last X seasons. But he does that yeah.

Revise, if Ash can use Pikachu against Rhydon I see nothing wrong with Brock using a steel pan to protect himself from thunder lol.

Foxrally March 29th, 2015 2:11 PM

Which reminds me, I was very confused at first when I realized steel wasn't weak to electric types.

I haven't really watch the anime only a few episode, I only watch X Y if it has something to do with the Serena plot-line. ^-^
