Welp waking up after 3 hours of sleep. My doggie decided to jump on my bed this morning and get me up early. I love him though so it's okay <3

Also morning my red babes

Hikamaru May 2nd, 2015 5:09 AM

Not good Chase, we're down a member because Alex has been a bad boy

Sirfetch’d May 2nd, 2015 5:14 AM

Well let's not talk about what Alex did. But Team Red will be okay! We will still take down those blue boobs ;D

Hikamaru May 2nd, 2015 5:15 AM

I know about the whole "ban privacy" thing but I hope we can get someone new to come in and take his place...

Sirfetch’d May 2nd, 2015 5:16 AM

Red vs Blue is still taking signups so we will get some more partners soon!

Hikamaru May 2nd, 2015 5:51 AM

Please feel for me as I am suffering terrible reminders of that nasty time I had in 2011... I really don't want to call it quits because I'm so brittle and insecure

Zehn May 2nd, 2015 10:31 AM

Hello comreds

I hope everyone has been doing well though!

It's been such a busy Saturday for me ;-; I helped my parents with some things after shopping and now the day is mostly over already D:

God I need to apply for more jobs too. I got called back for a second interview to a place but if it falls through I need backup plans. I am just so lazy sometimes when it comes to actually doing it.

Meganium May 2nd, 2015 11:32 AM

There was a job I was interviewed for, but I had to leave my place 2 1/2 hours before the actual interview because I had to cross the city with two major highways, and one of the highways are known to be absolutely awful during rush hour traffic. I barely made it.

Wicked3DS May 2nd, 2015 2:40 PM

I have a job. I wish I lived closer to work because I could conceivably wake up an hour later if I lived 20 minutes closer -_-

Sirfetch’d May 2nd, 2015 2:45 PM

If I get this job, it is only about 20 minutes by car from my house. That isn't too bad imo.

Sonata May 2nd, 2015 3:31 PM

If I get any of these jobs I've applied for I'll only be about 5 minutes away on foot.

Sirfetch’d May 2nd, 2015 5:14 PM

Oh you people who can walk to jobs sure are lucky haha. I don't really live close to any business as I live out. Means I have to drive pretty much everywhere and with gas prices so high....

Sonata May 2nd, 2015 5:47 PM

It seems that there's still some confusion. So let me try to make this as clear as possible. This is how the scoring for the quote war works.

Every time you quote someone from the Blue Team you get a point. It doesn't matter if someone posts before you or after you, you get a point for quoting anyone from the blue team. That being said, every time you quote someone try to post a link to the post so that at the end of the week we can go through and tally it all.

Now as for chains. A chain is created when one person quotes someone from the other team, and then the person who was quoted comes in and quotes the person who quoted them. Hallelujah it's a chain! Now as long as nobody else (regardless of if they're on your team, the opposite team or not on any team) pops up and breaks the chain of quotes, then you get a chain count. And you get a point for each and every quote that you've made regardless of if you were the last quoter or not. So here's an example.

If person X says that they like pickles and then person Y quotes them asking if they've ever had kool-aid pickles, then that's a point for person Y because they just quoted person X. Now it becomes a chain if person X comes back and quotes person Y without someone popping in between them. It's just like a conversation. Now this chain goes on until person Z - who could be literally anyone - comes in and posts. So the chain starts with the first quote, Y quotes X and sets it all off. Then when X quotes Y that's a 2 quote chain. Y quotes X again it's a 3 quote chain, and this goes on until person Z decides to ruin the fun.

If anyone still has any questions just bring them to me and I'll help you out.

Sirfetch’d May 2nd, 2015 8:13 PM

Thanks for clearing that up, buddy! You explain it way better than I do when people ask haha

Meganium May 2nd, 2015 9:29 PM

I prefer to drive.

Even though I'm about 10 minutes from both work and uni, I'm still planning to move even closer. Because the traffic seriously kills my commute, so sometimes I have to leave my place over 1 hour or so before, in case I get into traffic. Hopefully I'll be able to get a place by the end of the summer.

Although Houston's public transportation is decent, and cheap.

bobandbill May 3rd, 2015 4:22 AM

I drive at times, but with uni at most I drive to the train station and enjoy an hour+ train trip. I may move closer with a friend to uni this year, but then I'll be significantly poorer. =(

Luckily I have some income from the uni already (plus tutoring!), but when I near the end of my PhD it'll be application-sending time.

Meganium May 3rd, 2015 4:58 AM

Yeah. Houston's public transportation system is about to get renovated soon as well.

Although I really miss San Diego's system. FUCK YEAH TRAINS AND TROLLEYS.

Sonata May 3rd, 2015 5:01 AM

I don't know too much about our public transportation system. I know bus fare isn't too bad and then there's the public access bus that costs a dollar to go anywhere in about a 10 mile radius but they have certain stops kinda like a bus. We don't have many bike paths though which really irks me.

bobandbill May 3rd, 2015 5:08 AM

Our train system (Sydney Trains, formerly CityRail) is not the best. I don't have many complaints about buses but rarely catch them anyway, and sydney traffic can be pretty terrible at times so I imagine buses are also affected.

Lycanthropy May 3rd, 2015 5:29 AM

My experience with buses is okay during summer time, then it's a decent way of transport. But in winter or when it's raining for the first day after a week without, the bus always has some delay. Once I even had 45 minutes delay (on a trip of about half an hour).

Bay May 3rd, 2015 9:02 AM

I take the bus sometimes, and yeah I hate it when one of those things happen. :x

Megan May 3rd, 2015 10:21 AM

It's good to not be too much reliant on public transportation services. No more waiting an hour for a bus just to get home, every day and being able to decide on your own when and where you want to go is just great. The only downside is that maintaining a car can get really expensive, especially when it gets older.

Gonna hijack this thread and just say that man the beach is such a great place. I went today just to enjoy myself and I had a blast. I love the water so much n_n

Sirfetch’d May 3rd, 2015 4:25 PM

You should make a day of it, derk! It's so fun and relaxing n_n

Sirfetch’d May 3rd, 2015 4:31 PM

I wish I was closer as well. It takes me roughly 2 hours to get to the nearest beach D:

Meganium May 3rd, 2015 4:47 PM

It makes me so happy that I live about 45 minutes from Galveston. :3 Been thinking of spending the day over there sometime. It's so beautiful. <3

Omicron May 3rd, 2015 5:26 PM

I love the beach and enjoy swimming very much.

Also, I agree, Megan! Galveston is such a beautiful place.

Wicked3DS May 3rd, 2015 5:39 PM

I live about an hour and 15 minutes from the closest beach. I can't wait to go!

Sirfetch’d May 3rd, 2015 6:19 PM

The only bad part about it is all of the sand :( I had so much sand on me on the ride home despite rinsing off.

Omicron May 3rd, 2015 7:21 PM

But sand is so great! I love burying my feet in the beach, it is such a unique sensation. Feet buried, waves slowly crashing against you, unburying and burying your feet again with every crash, the warmth of the sun on the skin and the smell of the ocean.

Sonata May 3rd, 2015 7:39 PM

I dislike the ocean and I hate sand. All it is good for is getting everywhere and making you uncomfortable. And then you have to take a shower even if you accidentally stepped in it because it gets everywhere and then you track it in the house and blah blah blah blah. Sand is such a nuisance.

If I knew how to swim I might like the water more. But as it stands I just go out and see how far I can get while still being able to touch the bottom and then get on a board and float or ride the waves back to shore.

Centipede Chan May 3rd, 2015 7:41 PM

The beach and other out door things meant for the summer suck to all hell. I can't stand the heat, and bees and wasp. I don't mind pools, but not anymore since the transgender thing and the whole my body is something I hate thing.

Meganium May 3rd, 2015 8:00 PM

Now that I think about it, I keep hearing that summer at the gulf coast can get really, really sticky due to the freaking humidty. Man, I can handle 120+ degree weather back in Cali, but who knows how long I can withstand the summer heat here.

I can always hit the beach anyways!

We all should throw a beach party sometime.

Hikamaru May 3rd, 2015 8:17 PM

I haven't swimming at the beach in years, because I always found changing out after you finish to be a big hassle. The public toilets were just so confined ugh.

Megan May 4th, 2015 1:17 AM

The next beach is about 5 hours away from my place. I haven't been there for years. While I'm not neccessarily a fan of all the sand, what I do like about those places is the salty air and fish dishes.

Yukari May 4th, 2015 6:11 AM

I have never been to a beach in my life.

But then again this isn't surprising because I live in Kentucky and I've only even been to one other state. So... Yeah.

Hikamaru May 4th, 2015 6:13 AM

Australia is a literal island that's surrounded by so much water, that's why our beaches are always flocking over the hot months. The hot climate means we love our aquatic activities.

You should try to get out more. There's a lot of stuff to do out there. You could go to Holiday World in Indiana, Kings Island in Ohio and then there's a plethora of things to do in Tennessee. And most of those places are only a few hours drive so you could be there and back home all in one day. Fun stuff.

Though to be honest, I'm not looking forward to the overpriced theme park food and drinks. You know shit is insane when you have to pay $4 for a Gatorade.

That's honestly one of the main reasons Holiday World is my favorite theme park. The tickets aren't as expensive as most, but there's just as much if not more stuff to do around the park as there are others. And all drinks are free so you don't spend $15 or $20 dollars every 4 or 5 hours when you get thirsty.

Lycanthropy May 4th, 2015 10:46 AM

Wow, that's truly expensive. Why not just bring a few bottles of water yourself then?

Yes, there's a world out there that I don't get to enjoy because my family is so poor. So we don't get to travel much because of that and a number of other things actually.

I have been to Tennessee a lot though.

Sirfetch’d May 4th, 2015 12:52 PM

Tennessee is one of the few southern states I haven't been to much. Went there as a kid but not since! Going to vacation there this winter with my family. Should be fun :3

Sonata May 4th, 2015 12:59 PM

We usually stop in at Tennessee on our yearly trip down to Florida and at least go to Gatlinburg if nothing else.

Meganium May 4th, 2015 1:09 PM

Went to Worlds of Fun when I was in Kansas City, I bought a pizza combo that cost $15. The pizza slice wasn't even that big enough, and I got a small drink. Most overpriced meal I ever bought.

edit: OH GEEZ I FORGOT THERE WAS ANOTHER PAGE.

Somewhere outside of the big cities in the resort areas. Really just wherever our timeshares take us. Last year when I went with my mom we were able to get something a little further towards the keys and then ended up making a trip out of that and only visited Sea World and Universal. Then when I went with my dad last year we got something that was beachfront I think.

Most of the time we go for 9 or 10 days and take a couple for relaxing and then we spend a day at several different parks.

Meganium May 4th, 2015 1:18 PM

I would totally go to Nashville, Tennessee. It's the capital of country music, after all!

Meganium May 4th, 2015 1:27 PM

omfg derky you are making me want to freaking GO THERE.

Meganium May 4th, 2015 9:02 PM

I would go back to Kansas City for the bbq. Only for that. I tried out a sandwich called the "Z-Man" which is basically a brisket sandwich filled with cheese and onion rings, and o. m. f. g. best sandwich i have ever tasted.

Hey Derky, does Sea World in Florida has a "Dine with Shamu" thing? My older sister went with her kids a few weeks ago in San Diego and it was amazing.

Chikara May 5th, 2015 8:54 AM

Sonata May 5th, 2015 9:40 AM

What kinds of sauces does everyone like? Some people like their bbq to be more vinegary, but I don't see why. I much prefer my bbq to be sweet over anything. Sweet Baby Ray's does it pretty good. That stuff is the bomb.

Bellsprout May 5th, 2015 10:06 AM

every time i go to smokey bones with my cousin she steals her favorite sauces off the table and makes bomb sauteed meats at home

Chikara May 5th, 2015 10:22 AM

bbq sauce is bbq sauce to me, I usually don't eat it unless it's used to flavor chicken or pork. Then I care about how good the meat is more than what kind of bbq sauce is used -w-

On the topic of VINEGAR, I'm a huge fan of balsamic vinaigrette. Also, where's my garlic fans at?

The spicier, the better...when it comes to BBQ sauce.

Anyone been to Famous Daves? They have an awesome sauce called The Devil's Spit. It's so freaking hot. You will have to refill your drink every so often.

On topic, on Saturday I spent 7 hours shopping and that included a doctor's appointment that was first up on that day followed by a haircutting appointment for my older sister, we had Tim Horton's for breakfast so by the time we got home, we were super hungry~

Did I mention it's hard to find professional apparel these days?

Megan May 6th, 2015 7:04 AM

I feel like the quote-thing wasn't really engaging. I had like one major spree and after that I completely lost interest. It's not quoting for discussion's sake, but rather for the sake of quoting, which doesn't really lead to quality posts, imo. Add to that that you have to keep track of your quotes yourself as well and you create a disappointing game.

I really hope the next one's going to be better. :)
