- Your nickname: leorhn
- Your Grass-Type Club-Campaign Partner: Cottonee - Reason for joining the club: I've always liked the Grass Type despite their multiple weaknesses. Grass Type Pokemon always have this refreshing, natural feel to them, and I like that. This club also seems fun What is your favourite Grass Type Specialist Class? -I guess Aroma Lady is my favorite but I don't think there are any others to choose from haha If you were to create a new Grass Specialist Trainer Class what would they be called and what Grass Type Pokemon will they use? -Perhaps something like Florist, where they could be both male or female. I think that would be pretty charming. They would have Pokemon like Roselia, Sunflora, and Lotad. Now I want to make designs for this Trainer Class... |

Cottonee is an excellent choice. Their evolved form Whimsicott is one of my favourite Pokemon and I often have one on my team. There is a natural and almost serene beauty to Grass types that I also find pleasing. Aroma Ladys are the prototypical Grass Trainers and whilst they were only introduced in Gen 3 they are the go-to class for Grass Types. I like the idea of a Florist type class. It is possible we could get this in a future game as we have already some 'Job' classes like Clerk and Pilot. I wonder what a male florist would look like. In addition to the Pokemon listed I can also see the Florges line being used by them, whilst not Grass Type they learn several Grass Type moves, an ability (Flower Veil) which helps Grass Types and of course are strongly based on flowers. |
Quote:
I see Florist as something like Breeders, but they use Grass-types exclusively. :) |

I also considered the Florges line when I thought of which Pokemon they would use. I'm quite fond of Florges too; They're quite beautiful and also helpful in battle, as you mentioned. Quote:
Mhm. The two Classes focus on raising things that's why I think so, too. I'm not entirely sure what's in-store for clubs in this forum. Events and stuff?, If I may ask. |

Florges is indeed a beautiful and elegant Pokemon. My favourite Florges color is the Red flower one. I however lucked into finding a Shiny Yellow Flower Flabebe which will soon be a radiant purple and yellow Florges. Florges is often spoke of as the one Pokémon that should be a Grass-type for obvious reasons. However if it was Grass/Fairy it would have a similar role as Whimsicott causing the Garden Pokemon to lose some spotlight. There is an event going at the moment called 'The Amazing Pokémon Race'. It involves people playing Monotypes of their chosen type. I am representing this club and am on the fourth Gym. :) |

Which Grass starter's your fav? |
Quote:
My favorite grass starter is Turtwig! I find it really cute. I also like how Torterra has a tree on its back where you could probably sleep or rest on. My 2nd favorite would be Chikorita; though its evolutionary line has a bit of a simplistic design, I think they're quite charming. How about yours? |
Quote:
Currently the top one is the Bulbasaur line. 8D That is because XY introduced a Mega for it! :D |

Turtwig is a good pick for favourite Grass Starter. Grass/Ground is a unique typing and his evolved form Torterra has an excellent design and packs a punch. Chikorita is a very cute Pokémon and is one of the few Pokemon that stays cute throughout it's line. Hopefully it gets a Mega Evolution soon. My favourite Grass Starter however is the Treecko. Not only does it have a cute design for it's baby form, it has an impressive middle evolution as well as an imposing final and Mega. Grass/Dragon is a cool and unique typing for his Mega and makes sense due to the Treecko lines reptilian origins. |
Spoiler:
Mhm. Bulbasaur is a cute one too. I always pick him whenever I get the chance to choose one of the Kanto Starters. I like Chespin, too and Chesnaught but I'm not too fond of Quilladin's design. I guess Quilladin doesn't appeal much to me. Yeah, It's great that Mega Sceptile got Dragon as its secondary Type; that way he'll have less weaknesses and more STAB opportunities. |
Quote:
Chesnaught looks reliable, look at this fanart. http://orig01.deviantart.net/a802/f/2013/281/c/d/chesnaught_by_shuleng-d6ppjpr.png The Dragon-type gave a fake illusion it gains less weakness, but in reality it gains two more namely Dragon and Fairy, which are popular Pokémon/moves in the competitive. :'( |
Quote:
Dragon typing being added to Mega Sceptile makes a lot of sense and gives him some more resisistances. Quote:
Dragon is not the amazing type it was pre-gen6 after being hit with a Fairy weakness and every team packs a Fairy Type which is bad news for the Lizarddragon. :( Mega Sceptile one of the coolest looking Megas in the whole game and for me looks better than the overdesigned Mega Venusaur. I have updated the Scenario Campaign details for everybody. Leorhn, I have given you a Sun Stone. If you wish to evolve Cottonee into Whimsicott you can. You can now also pick a second Pokemon. Sun, I have given you a Shiny Stone and Hikamaru you have a Shiny Stone that can be used to evolve Roselia. Whether either of you wish to evolve Roselia or not you can both pick another Pokemon for the Scenario Campaign. |
Quote:
I wish the other Grass Starters would get nice Mega designs, too. Thanks! I'll have Turtwig as my 2nd Pokemon. |
Quote:
I think Torterra will get a Mega in the inevitable Sinnoh remakes...Chesnaught may well get one in Z. I can see both Megas being Behemoths among Pokemon. I can see Mega Chesnaught looking like the X-men Juggernaut somewhat. I will be making notes on post counts and number of likes for the Scenario Campaign. If you do not wish for a Pokémon to be evolved (Say you prefer Bulbasaur to his evolved forms) please let me know. :) |
Ohh, I prefer Cottonee to stay unevolved for the meantime.
It would be funny if Chesnaught did ended up looking like Juggernaut. It's clever but I hope they pull it off well haha |

I think it would be a logical looking Mega. They obviously can't go too close for Copyright reasons but I can imagine Mega Chesnaught being one of the hardest hitters in the game. New Topic Which Grass Type were you initially not a fan of that you like/love now? What was it that initially made you dislike the Pokemon and what made you warm to it? |
Sorry it's been so long! School and such has kept me reeeaaally busy!
Anyway, onto the topic. I actually used to dislike... actually, I haven't really found any Grass types that I dislike that I've grown to like. When I first see one, I either like it or I don't, and so far that hasn't changed... |
Quote:
The Snover line. The typing the Speed made the whole Snover line undesirable. But that illusion proved to be wrong, at least on the gaming side; it proved to be very handy! |

Which Grass-type Pokémon did you initially dislike but like/love now? I have a couple of answers to this one. One of them is the Tangela line. In Gen 1 Tangela was a Pokémon that didn't evolve and you didn't get until late in the game which by that point I already had a Grass Type in my team. Whilst I thought the Vine Pokemon was cute, he had no place on my team due to how late he was obtained. That changed when he received an evolution in Tangrowth. Tangrowth has some much welcome bulk and whilst I am not crazy about the design it is a very useful Pokemon which often finds a place on my team. The other answer is Lilligant. When I first saw Lilligant I saw it as a Bellossom Expy and in my initial Unova runs caught it and its unevolved forms only for Pokedex Completion purposes. However this all changed when I actually used the Grass Princess in the post game. Not only does she learn the very welcome Sleep Powder (It's version Counterpart Whimsicott does not) she learns fun moves like Teeter Dance, Quiver Dance and Petal Dance. Combined with an 'Own Tempo' Ability (Chlorophyll is also useful) Lilligant has helped me through many battles and is the star of my current Grass Monotype. She is also a lot of fun to play with in Pokémon Amie and Lilligant who I initially wrote off as a lazy copy is now one of my favourite Pokémon. :) |
A new side topic until our Florist creates a new topic (yeah Florist that is the Grass Club owner's title and for some reason I still have that from the member list. :P )
Which was that Pokémon that ultimately decided you're in for the Grass-type? For me that was Roselia, but she wasn't my official Grass-type signature. That Grass-signature place once belonged to Vileplume (in Gen III) instead, as Vileplume's base stat is better than Roselia. But when Roserade made her appearance, I was like 'she is soooo going to be my Grass mascot' and she is still there to this day. :) While I love the Lotad line a lot and it's one of my must use from most Hoenn playthroughs, I was attracted to it as a Water-type. It is clearly a Grass-type and I even gave it Grass-moves. But he wasn't the reason why I decided to explore the green grass , he contributed nothing for the Grass love Lol. |
Spoiler:
I thought 'Florist' was your nickname in this club hence why I left it there. It is fixed now however. :) What was that Pokémon that ultimately decided you were in for the Grass-type? It is tough to say what Pokémon actually made me love the Grass-type as I always have one in my team and the list of Grass-type that I love is a long one. I think I started loving Grass Types in Gen 3 however when I picked Treecko. The Wood Gecko Pokémon was the first Grass Starter I had chosen and was the linchpin of my team and in the remakes I always pick him as Starter and when available have a Sceptile on my team. My Sapphire playthrough also marked the first time I had numerous Grass Types on my Game Team as I received an Oddish from a friend and evolved it all the way to a Vileplume and breeded him so I could have a female Bellossom as well. :) New Topic will be up later today. |

I used Bulbasaur in Yellow and Leaf Green and he was a lot of fun to use. He is one of my favourite Grass Types and is fun to play with in Pokémon Amie. :) Of course I used the Bulbasaur line and Vileplume in my recent Red Monotype run. :) Both were incredibly useful and I had no roadblocks halting my progress. Both Pokémon dealt with everything the game could throw at me. :) Very true about the Treecko line and myself. :) |
