Word Un-Censoring

I though I could tell this to some of you. Could some abusive, bad words be un-censored in the "Other Writing" and "Pokémon Fan Fiction" forum. We have many stories written by older members which are rated 15 or 16+ and make use of these words in the story.

So I think it would be a good idea, if most of the censoring is removed in these 2 forums alone.

CC, didn't you see pikaman? --;

Some people might come along and flame like "Omg you b**** you write so f***ing badly" and it'll be perfectly fine to read.

Besides, we do have some younger children around ready to read these >>;

No one reads the ratings, so kids will still come into areas that say 16+ etc, in fact, they are more likely to check it out if it has a rating higher than their own age.

That's my opinion anyway.

What's Pikaman, I though Pikachu was a Pokémon.JK. Anyway I don't visit PokeFF but I do look at Other Writing threads usually.

I will agree with LH here, Kids wanting to prove as if they are over-mature will view threads which they are not supposed to and give comments,etc.

But if you take some really good stories like Katerina by LT, it beautifully portrays the day-to-day life of a Bi-Sexual girl and her feelings. In real life don't we all use "ABUSIVE LANGUAGE" when we are really frustrated. In the same way, freedom must be given to the authors to make their stories as realistic as possible.

Kylie, if people do post that in any forum, we ban them don't we?

Yes, but the fact is, you can edit the post, but it won't change what members have seen.

And w/ Katerina, I love that story and so far I haven't seen any "abusive language" in it.

The censor applies to all the forum. Either we remove it all, or we remove none of it. Sorry, but that's how vBulletin works :/

Kylie-chan March 30th, 2005 2:38 AM

Well, I highly doubt that we're gonna remove all the censoring XD

That wont make much a difference. Either way someone younger will see it no matter what the age limit is.

Yep~ ><

I reported the thread, 'cause case solved o.o
