BW / B2W2 Music Patch [FR] [EM]
 
I come to the community with yet another patch, this time using BW and B2W2 music.

This is not a DS music patch hack thingydoodler, this actually is BW and BW2 music on the GBA, ready for hacks to use.
This patch includes ipatix' HQ Mixer routine.
This patch also includes a custom built-in routine (FR) that switches music based on DNS's seasons. If the player doesn't have RTC or seasons enabled, the music defaults to spring music.

To play in Sappy without any issues do the following: Sappy Mod 15 - 17.1 -> Options -> Settings -> Extra -> DirectSound Voices Limit = 12

I don't understand at all how the music tracks work on the games, but having this patch on my ROM will allow me to play the regular midis from the original game?

Music in games doesn't work via midis or anything like that. It's just a ton of bytes that work as commands, like scripts or whatever.
But the patch just has BW and BW2 music in the games. That's all it does, and it makes them have high quality thanks to ipatix.

Eventually I'll make ASM to have it switch music based on seasons, but for now it doesn't have that.

Why would I create an entirely new GBA sound engine system? lol

Right now, it's only the songs inserted (as the videos show)
In the future, I'll have an ASM routine switch the songs based on seasons.
It'll also include ipatix' high quality routines, which will make the samples sound better overall.

And that's why you don't make a unified voicegroup ladies and gentlemen

HGSS and BW2 have very different styles even though some people think they use the same instruments (Which I don't see)

Comparing them isn't really meaningful since BW/2 was intended to have more detailed music, which it does.

It's definitely really simple, it's a beat, drums, a lead and the "piano" in the back.
It works somehow, though, as Gamefreak usually makes their songs.

On a side note, I might upload something that's not a battle tonight.

Did you use ipatix' high quality music mixer routines now? Does it have some problem?
And did you record these examples by emulator or record the sound of sappy?
I import music from ds game following your Mega-Huge Sappy Tutorial(in forum and youtube),that's great but still have many tiny problem in game,maybe I should gather more experience(^ ^;)

I do use ipatix' mixer, even though it's a custom one that enhances quality on high-pitched sounds.
Also, my tutorial is very bad lol
I plan on re-writing it. But yea, it does take some experience, but not a whole lot
