How To Find Available Bytes
1 Attachment(s)
When I attempt to search for bytes to create a new script or warp or change anything about the world by adding something, it always comes up requesting to search for bytes. Whenever I press it to search for bytes it never comes up with anything. I was just wondering how I'm supposed to do this. I am fairly new to scripting/mapping.

You're searching the wrong area. It's 8xxxxxx, not 6xxxxxx.

You can use Free Space Finder and/or a hex editor like HxD.

The problem seems to be that there are too many zeroes; delete one of them and then try again. I believe the reason for this is that it's specified wrong in Advance Map's ini file. To fix it, navegate to Advance Map's "Ini" folder and open the file "AdvanceMap.ini" in Notepad. There you should find a version of the offset with five zeroes (so "$6B00000") somewhere. Delete one of the zeroes and save. By the way, you don't need to search for free space every time you add something. In settings, tick "Automatically look for offsets" and the program will do it for you. |
