Dragonite distribution event

next week, they are distributing an event Dragonite.

http://xy6.pokemontcgxy.com/distro.php?lang=en_US

So. . . . What's so special about it?

Can't we just breed and raise our own Dragonite with near perfect IV's? This Dragonite doesn't seem shiny nor does it hold a rare and special dragonite only item like I heard rumors about. . I don't know, what does the forum think?

VforVendetta June 16th, 2015 2:21 PM

Hm, hopefully it'll have a pretty sweet event move rather than just egg move(s). Dragonite is also one of the few Pokemon I prefer not-shiny, it just looks odd to me otherwise.
And thanks for the heads up on this. :D I'll likely be heading to Gamestop next week anyway to pre-order Battlefront 3.

A new event has been announced for the US. From June 22nd to July 12th you can go to Gamestop to get a serial code to receive a special Dragonite. It knows the move Dragon Dance, Outrage, Hurricane and Extremespeed, which is a difficult move to get on Dragonite, and has its Hidden Ability of Multiscale and holds a Lum Berry, all to coincide with today's release of the Roaring Skies TCG set. We'll bring more as it comes.
Nothing special, but I'm picking it up anyhow, it's a freaking dragon, man!

Blueredemption June 16th, 2015 6:51 PM

most of the people I know outside of PC don't breed, so I can see them getting pretty hyped for this "special" Dragonite. I will go just so I can get it in a cherish ball :P

Hikamaru June 17th, 2015 12:47 AM

While it may not look special on paper, the fact it has the hidden ability + Extreme Speed (which is usually only obtainable from the Dratini obtained in HG/SS, a time when hidden abilities were still not a thing) might be what makes it worth obtaining, especially if you're a competitive player.

PlatinumDude June 17th, 2015 8:26 AM

To build on to what Hikamaru said, not everyone who has OR/AS has access to X/Y. The Dratini line can only be found in the latter games; they're unavailable in OR/AS. This even applies to the OR/AS players who haven't had luck getting Dratini or its evolved forms over at Wonder Trade or the GTS.

Sensei_Soriel June 17th, 2015 9:37 AM

Great, I'll fetch 2 of them, one for each of the games.

Nusdogg June 17th, 2015 4:10 PM

If it really have Extreme Speed as HA, it'll be worth it and will definitely get it!

Extreme Speed is one of Dragonite's learnable moves. Dragonite's HA is Multiscale.

Tin Tin June 17th, 2015 6:11 PM

Granted i am new to the dorums but ill be mass producing 4/5 iv dratini's. Doing deinos and goomys as we speak to get a perfect iv. Working the next four days so wont be able to trade anything til monday.

Altairis June 17th, 2015 7:49 PM

They have a lot of events of normal Pokemon and I guess they're special BECAUSE of that haha. I'll still be picking up the Dragonite because I love Dragons, but it's not really that unusual to see a "normal" Pokemon.

I thought Extreme Speed was now an egg move this gen?

I'll see if I'm able to go to my local Gamestop to download Dragonite, because I barely play with my 3DS no thanks to Splatoon's addictiveness.

It is still tricky to get, especially if you don't have both OR/AS and X/Y since some Pokemon are exclusive to only one of the two games.

EvolvePikachu June 18th, 2015 10:19 PM

When we're at Gamestop, what's the code we need to enter?

Sensei_Soriel June 19th, 2015 3:56 PM

It's the one they'll give you between the 22 of june and the 12 of july.

They give you a card that you scratch off the code for it, it has the HA multiscale with moves dragon dance, outrage, hurricane and extremespeed at lv55, pretty powerful and well worth it to me.

Hikamaru June 19th, 2015 5:33 PM

Adding on to RNC, just remember the codes are one-use only so if you want more you need to get more codes. It's a painful process but it's basically how event distributions are being set up this generation.

I have 8 codes already, I will be giving to those that don't have a GS or what not.

Just a question, when I downloaded this it said "battle ready" how can it be if the 1st one I got only had IVs in HP?

mew_nani June 22nd, 2015 12:50 AM

It looks nice but it would really help if it wasn't only for ORAS... even though it advertises an XY set of trading cards. That makes a lot of sense, guys. :\

Oblox June 22nd, 2015 1:07 AM

I thought it was for X/Y and OR/AS?

I agree with you. I recently bred a really good Dragonite that I doubt that one is better than, so I don't really see much point in getting it. The only reason I'd ever be interested was if it was shiny, but it definitely doesn't appear to, so I have any need for it. However, I can sort of get what some of the other people said about how people who don't breed might be excited for it.

Juxapose June 23rd, 2015 2:28 AM

If anyone needs a Dragonite with it's HA, just let me know. I have a friend code that has Dragonair, so I can get Dragonites with 2 or more perfect stats at will. I did learn that this Dragonite has the event move Extreme Speed, so I will be picking it up on my way home. Beware Pokemon Trainers, my dragonite will be coming to Battle Spot!

Sensei_Soriel June 23rd, 2015 8:36 AM

Disapointed by Gamestop. It's a USA only distribution. I'm in Canada.

Evan30071 June 23rd, 2015 4:30 PM

I just picked mine up this morning. Looks good to me

Oblivion Wing June 23rd, 2015 4:57 PM
