I got Return to The Isle of The Lost by Melissa De La Cruz, so now I'm reading the first book called Isle of The Lost by her as well. I haven't read it/finished it yet, but when I do... I'll read the sequel too. :P

For anyone wondering, it's based on the Descendants movie from Disney Channel. At first, I was against the movie... but when I watched it, I loved it. Mostly, because it had Dove Cameron. ^^ There's supposed to be a sequel to it coming up too, and it's already been confirmed by her and other sources.

Tongues of Serpents by Naomi Novik. The Napoleonic war with dragons.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I liked The Color of Magic and the Sandman series, so decided to give it a shot. Definitely not disappointed. Terry Pratchett is turning out to be one of the only authors besides Douglas Adams who has managed to actually make me laugh out loud.

Ready Player One

Not very far into it so I'll have to see where it goes, but so far it doesn't really grab me which is a little bit disappointing because I was assured it was a good book.

Moved on to Circles of Seven by Bryan Davis. I'm beginning to notice more of the faults in Davis's writing, but I'll commit myself to finish the series.

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

Giggleswee June 8th, 2016 1:57 PM

The Death Cure - James Dashner. I haven't read this series in a while but I can remember the other books being a lot more interesting. There's not really that much going on I guess.

I'm currently reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I'm really enjoying it, plus my grandmother told me there's a movie to it.

I am rereading The Virgin Suicides at the moment. It's a really great, accessible novel. Roughly equal parts melancholy, humour and mystery wrapped in a vessel of adolescence.

Karma Police June 14th, 2016 2:15 AM

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Started it a few days ago, really enjoying it so far.

Winter June 14th, 2016 7:13 AM

Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. Gotta learn from the master of fantasy world building.

Astinus June 14th, 2016 4:07 PM

Shadows in Flight by Orson Scott Card: I remember that this book is on the bad side of Card's writing, but now that I'm actually reading it... https://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-froggonk.gif

The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. It's my summer book.

pkmin3033 June 16th, 2016 7:51 AM

The Elfstones of Shannara, by Terry Brooks. I need to purge The Shannara Chronicles TV series from my brain and remind myself that the literature is actually good.

Is that series worth getting into if someone is a fan of fantasy? I have the series floating around my house and have always thought about reading them, but I never do because it looks like such a commitment.

As for what I'm currently reading, it's Tears of a Dragon by Bryan Davis. It's the last book in the Dragons In Our Midst series, and it's getting rather tedious to read through. None of the "danger" is actually that dangerous to the heroes, so there's no tension. That's why I doubt the people who have said that this series is on par with Narnia, Harry Potter, and the Lord of the Rings.

Need to get started with that book review blog!~

I'm currently at Chapter 3 of How To Fight A Dragon's Fury by Cressida Cowell.
It's the last title in the brilliant How To Train Your Dragon series...
Love these books, love the films/tv series also!

Currently I'm reading De Triomf van de Dwergen. Which translates to "The Triumph of the Dwarves". Written by the German fantasy author Markus Heitz.

It's the 5th and newest volume of the series. I loved it to bits back then and actually thought the fourth book was the last one. A lot of spinoff books were published after that, mainly featuring the Alves, which are the opposite of Elves. And suddenly a 5th book of the core series came out. So I was really glad the story continued, I'm at page 500 atm and it's still great.

I'm just starting The Man Who Went Up In Smoke by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. It's the second in the Martin Beck series of mystery novels, the first of which I read a while back on a whim and rather liked. It's Swedish mystery and since I really liked (the adaptations of) the Millennium series (a.k.a. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Wallander I think I'll enjoy the rest of this series.

Cersei Lannister July 1st, 2016 4:38 AM

I'm working on Bloodline by Claudia Gray. Pretty good novel set up in new Star Wars Canon.

JohnnyGolduck July 2nd, 2016 5:56 AM

Stephen King's It

Haven't read it since I was like 16. There's was a lot I didn't understand and parts I forgot but re-reading it now is pretty amazing.

One book I am reading for the second time is Star Wars Lost Stars by Claudia Gray. It takes place during 11 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) to 5 ABY (After Battle of Yavin).

VanillaMiltank July 4th, 2016 8:16 AM

Currently enjoying The Iron Ghost by Jen Williams...
It's the second book in the 'Copper Cat' fantasy series - Really reccommend, great reads :)
