I can't seem to change the badges correctly in FR :(

I know it's possible to edit the badges. I've played hacks that have them edited. What I want to know is, how do they do it? Every time I try to edit it the same way I'd edit an intro sprite in unLZ, the palette is never right.

Usually I figure out these things myself after a bit, but this time, I might really be at a standstill. I've tried numerous other ways, but I can't seem to get them to look right. And there's no tutorial for it either, so I'm really at a loss here.

pls help :(

EDIT: In a very predictable fashion, I have, since posting this thread, figured it out just like always. So I won't be wasting anyone's time, I want to post my method so others wondering how to edit the badges can do it as well.

WHAT I DID WAS:
-Exported the badge graphic from unLZ, without changing the palette (export palette 0)
-Edited them to my liking, using different colors to create exactly what I want them to look like on the Trainer Card
-Saved that as another file
-Pasted the original badge graphic under my edited badges in Paint
-Recolored my badges using the colors in the original graphic based on what those look like in the Trainer Card
-Once finished, I removed the original graphic, saved, then indexed and imported again using unLZ.

Now that I think about it, I might create a tutorial for how to do this. xD

Thats not very convenient if you want to use your own palettes.. From what I've discovered, you can change the palettes at 003CD2C8 and 003CD2E8 in APE.

Yeah, the way I did it is a little weird, but I've managed to do it without changing the original badge palette, so everything should be fine, and they look like the old FR badges on the trainer card.

Thanks for the offsets by the way. If I feel like I want my badges to be a little more shiny, I'll know where to look, as that was actually what kept me from modifying the badges correctly with my own palette in the first place. xD

...Did I mention how much I hate palettes? ._.
