I think I have Misprinted Cards

Yesterday, I picked up a Zekrom box at the store. Mostly boring same old cards I had but then I realized something- the extra Ferroseed I almost gave away was off center!

Looking through, I found two Petilil, one which was off center. Even the promo Zekrom card was centered differently than the first one I got.
The most glaring example was with a Pidove. I showed it to someone who doesn't even really look at Pokémon cards, and they agreed it was a little crooked.

Does anyone else have off-center cards? Does this increase the value at all?

Not all the cards are like this, so it's not something specific to that box.

Other differences with these cards are that the ink is often lighter, making the artwork lose depth. Additionally, on the backs, the corners of the blue portion do not evenly touch the blue frame.

Again, only a few cards are like this.

Okay, so first off, and this is so you get proper evaluations and also have the correct terminology if you ever sell them so you don't have to refund someone for errant terminology usage: the correct term for the misalignment errors is "Miscut".

Secondly, what was the name on this box? What you describe is technically not called a booster box (they're known as "Collection Boxes" within the TCG community). I'm 99% certain that it is real, but if there's counterfeiters out there counterfeiting these "Collection Boxes", I want to know as I buy these myself sometimes.

Pictures would be helpful.

It's just called Zekrom Box. Seriously.
It is copyright 2011.

It has four booster packs and 1 promo card, plus the aforementioned figure.

I am really really sorry for the misused terminology. I am no expert at Trading Cards, and didn't know what else to call them.

Pics are here!

Sounds like it's this.

The Front of the Ferroseed. As you can see, the left border is thin, while the right border is thick. It also appears tilted.

Despite turning the picture, it insists on being sideways. However, the one on the left has a more proportionate border than the one on the right (the same one you have seen earlier). Additionally, the colors are lighter, though this isn't something too major.

The back of the crooked Ferroseed. The back image doesn't appear to properly fit the frame.

Not too big of a deal. Just want you to know the proper terminology before you go to sell them on eBay and someone decides to be vindictive and demand a refund because the terminology you used in the listing was incorrect.

As for miscuts, they typically don't increase the value. Collectors are a fickle group. Miscuts are also fairly common in the Pokemon TCG. Especially ones that aren't really all that noticeable like that one.

I'm sorry but I thought you meant miscuts like these.

Those miscuts are very common, almost every pack has either the commons miscut or the uncommons or the ex.... Extreme miscuts are probably worth more since people like to collect factory error type things but they have to be extreme, so using the examples above the M Blastoise is more interesting then the Maxie because the Blastoise contains another card on it. Maxie isn't worth more then a regular card, probably even worth less. I like to pull these extreme miscuts because they are unique. Though not so much full arts since those are harder to pull and if I only ever pull one I want it to be even.

It's hard to tell in the picture but the Poliwhirl got caught in the seal causing a rigid border. Usually color changes mean they were running low on ink when they printed it, once I had an orange Xerosic that was supposed to be red.... Primal Clash is probably the worst set for miscuts though. Japan is usually good with their cutting though I did get a miscut Full Art Toxicroak in a Wild Blaze box.

Well, I guess I just got a bit too excited. After all, this is the first time I encountered such a thing. Anyway, they're still special to me, even if they're meaningless otherwise. They're my cards and the beauties of my collection.

The Pidove I mentioned before is a bit more extreme than the Ferroseed, but at this point it's probably not worth showing a pic of it

Oh well, thanks for the help everyone!
