The Exp. Share isn't the only reason X/Y is easy. The main reason is because they changed the formula used for calculating exp gain, so Pokes level up extremely fast, even without the Exp. Share. I think the hardest ones were HG/SS, because leveling up is extremely difficult in that game. |
14
Johto just had an awful levelling curve. The low levels were just too glaring to notice. |
15.
I agree HGSS. I got to level 60 in Mt Silver(I suck at grinding so it took a few weeks) and from my memory of GSC that should have been enough to underdog beat Red, but unfortunatly my memory's either wrong or they gave him ~10+ levels from last time..... I had a Platinum rom a while ago that I had gotten to Victory Road on, and I remember managing somehow to keep a good level going amoungst everyone in the team to have very little trouble, but I couldn't go further due to my laptop breaking. How high leveled are Cynthia's Pokemon? |
16
I think the best levelling method might have been in X/Y, with those Furisode Girls with the Audino in the Battle Chateau. |
17
Id have to go with Hikamaru X/Y had some great leveling methods although perhaps too great. |
18.
I always grind like crazy regardless of the game, so it's pretty difficult for me to notice the difference between them aha. |
19.
I'm always way too lazy to grind in a Pokemon (or any really) game, so the EXP Share was beautiful for someone as lazy as me hahaha. |
20
I normally grind a lot too. In X and Y though, I had to hold myself back from grinding too much haha. Just a tiny bit of grinding seems to put you lightyears ahead of the curve in that game. |
21.
Haha, I guess the only reason why I wasn't overleveled in X/Y is because there were just too many Pokémon that I wanted to catch and use on my main team. I think I rotated between at least 20 different Pokémon throughout my playthrough, eheheh. |
21
I grinded at the Battle Chateau a bunch like after every gym battle my pokes were at level 90 before the first E4 challenge haha it stinks though normally in like yellow i had to grind a bunch just too beat some gym leaders i wish the games still had a bit of challenge to them. |
22
And here I thought I was the only one who rotated between Pokemon ^^ For me it's usually around 12, but I swap them around pretty frequently in my playthroughs. And yea, I miss the challenging days too. I hope the hard mode from Black and White 2 makes its appearance again in future games~ |
23
I remember when everyone thought B2/W2's Challenge Mode was a blessing, and then it never reappeared in any games after that. |
24
I don't think I ever tried the challenge mode. Though I only played BW2 once or twice... |
25
Challenge Mode is scary... additional Pokemon for important trainers, Aerial Ace Leavanny, Choice Scarf Chandelure, oh my! |
26.
Hey I'm just happy I beat White 2 on Normal Mode lol. I did feel very excited though because that was the first time where I hadn't played using only one Pokemon and still was higher leveled than the Champion! I saw her highest level was as high as my lowest level and I was so hyped and crushed her oh gosh it was so funny to me haha. ;w; |
27
I am someone who's always on easy mode. xD |
You kids are screwing up the counter again so BOO
I did really like that Black 2 had a hard mode, what I didn't get was why you had to beat the game to access it (and easy mode in White 2 which made even less sense). |
1
I started a White 2 save a while back as a replacement for my corrupted, unable-to-be-restarted Black 2 save that I had enjoyed so much back then. I still haven't gotten past Celestial Tower yet, when you need to see Juniper and get that Lucky Egg from her. Yeah I had to repost because a damn ninja beat me to it. Blame that. |
2
I've been naughty. lol. I could never go into hard mode because I'm lazy to. D8 |
3
I would likely never do Challenge Mode, especially after watching the scary stuff that unfolded in Marriland's Black 2 Wedlocke. Just watch the episodes where he battled Skyla and Shauntal, and you could say he was so shocked because he was playing off memory and not looking everything up. One thing I can say, Choice Scarf Chandelure is just the scariest. |
4
Dang back to 0 oh well I really wanna try challenge mode the games are just too easy these days but first i gotta start playing pokemon again haha |
5
Challenge mode is fun to have a go at, just a pity it is restricted to B2W2. |
6
It'd be a lot more interesting if was available from the start of the game. There's not much to play for a challenge after the game was beaten. But it's certainly one of the features I really want to reappear. Maybe Gen VII... who knows? |
7
I am so ready for gen 7 now that you mention it. I need Pokemon in my life again badly D: |
